Research has been conducted on Azomonas macrocytogenes ATCC 12334 which excretes a fluorescent siderophore azoverdin in iron-deficient conditions. The study of the three-dimensional structure of azoverdin-Ga(III) in solution is presented.

Research has been conducted on gallium halide Lewis acidity. The study of this acidity in acid-base interactions carried out via the use of ammonia as the electron-donating counterpart is presented.

Research has been conducted on the octahedral hexanuclear cluster halides of the transition metals. The low temperature solid-state approaches to these compounds carried out via the reduction of TaCl (sub)5 with gallium and gallium dichloride have been investigated and the results are reported.

The molecular orbital theory and the hybrid density functional theory calculations used in investigating these compounds and the computed relative energies of the disubstituted isomers are discussed.

Research has been conducted on the family of the endohedral closo-boranes, -alanes and -gallanes. The geometries, energies, magnetic properties and vibrational frequencies of these dianions with the noble gas atoms located in the centers of the icosahedral [B (sub)12], [Al (sub)12] and [Ga (sub)12] clusters have been computed and the results are discussed.

Research has been conducted on the gallium phosphonates, the structures of which depend on their preparation conditions. The isolation of Ga (sub)4 (O (sub)3 PC (sub)2 H (sub)4 PO (sub)3 ) (sub)3 and Ga (sub)2 (OH) (sub)2 ( O (sub)3 PC (sub)2 H (sub)4 PO (sub)3) has been carried out and their structures have been solved via the single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

Research has been conducted on the ternary lanthaniod ruthenium gallides with high gallium content. The preparation of these compounds has been carried out via the elemental component reaction at high temperatures and the results are presented.

Research has been conducted on the gallium silylamido complexes. The synthesis of these complexes has been carried out and the results indicate that the formation of the [PhGa{N(SiMe (sub)2 Ph) (sub)2}(mu-Cl)] (sub)2 and [MeGaCl (sub)2] (sub)2 compounds are the product of the phenyl and methyl group transfer from the amide's silyl group to the gallium center.

Research has been conducted on the tetrahedral metal-ligand cluster [Ga (sub)4 L (sub)6] (super)12-. The results of the guest-synthesis of this compound based on the predicitve design strategy are reported.

Research has been conducted on the monochlorogallane thermal decomposition. Results indicate that the decomposition releases H (sub)2 and leads to the gallium(I) species formation.

Research has been conducted on the Dipp (sub)2 nacnacMX (sub)2 (M=Al, Ga, In, X=methyl or halogen). The preparation of these species and comparison of their spectroscopic and structural properties with the monovalent derivatives have been carried out.

Proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy was used to study the binding of Ga3+ and the synergistic anion oxalate to human serum transferrin (HTF) and its recombinant N-lobe (HTF/2N). The structural consequences of reverse-order metal loading was also examined. Specific protein resonances displayed a sensitivity to oxalate binding. In addition, results revealed a slow exchange between apo-HTF and Ga-loaded HTF or HTF/2N. Some orientational changes was found among residues in hydrophobic pockets in the interdomain hinge region near the metal binding site following Ga3+ binding.

Research has been conducted on the GaSb nanoparticles. The preparation of these nanoparticles at room temperature via the sonochemical method has been carried out and the ultrasound-assisted in-situ reduction/combination mechanism explaining the reaction has been described.

Research has been conducted on the dithiophosphinato complexes use as solvent extraction agents for metals, insectides and pesticides. The X-ray crystal structures of tris(diisobutyldithiophosphinato)gallium(III) and -indium(III) compounds have been investigated, and the results indicate that these compounds do not exhibit different coordination modes.

The synthesis of [Ge{N(C (sub)6 H (sub)3 -2,6-i-Pr (sub)2)CMe} (sub)2 CH] (super)+ as colorless crystals has been carried out in the presence of water and the results of the NMR and IR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography used to characterized the compound are presented.
