Characterization and bonding of the cation [Ge{N(C (sub)6 H (sub)3 -2,6-i-Pr (sub)2)CMe} (sub)2 CH] (super)+ : comparison with the isoelectronic Ga{N(C (sub)6 H (sub)3 -2,6-i-Pr (sub)2)CMe} (sub)2 CH

Research has been conducted on the two-coordinate low-valent complexes. The synthesis of [Ge{N(C (sub)6 H (sub)3 -2,6-i-Pr (sub)2)CMe} (sub)2 CH] (super)+ as colorless crystals has been carried out in the presence of water and the results of the NMR and IR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography used to characterized the compound are presented.
