Abstract: Papermaking enterprises are major polluters that cause water pollution and air pollution. This paper aims to provide analysis of the energy saving and emission reduction in papermaking enterprises.It is the inevitable choice of establishment industrial ecology park as the leading of the papermaking industry by the implementation of cleaner production and circulation economy. Shandong Haiyun efficient ecological park is taken for example.Researches of the developing strategies and policy support of energy saving and emission reduction is discussed. The paper is divided into five parts, the first part is the preface, the second part introduces the general of Haiyun efficient industrial park, the third part puts forward the scheme of clean production of Haiyun efficient ecological industrial park, the fourth part puts forward ecological industry pattern of Haiyun efficient ecological industrial park, the fifth part puts forward policy guarantee measures, and the sixth part makes the summary. Abstract: This paper introduces the biggest solar cooling system in China. The solar cooling system is applied to a campus library in Hainan Island, which is the furthest south province in China. Some important factors, such as scheme selection, supplementary energy resource choice, chiller type comparison, solar collector selection, system configuration, operation and control strategy determination etc., are mainly discussed in this paper. The project was finished in 2011 summer and an on-line monitoring system was installed to know how the system operates. Some primary technical and economic analysis is made and some suggestions about how to promote solar cooling system in China are also put forward in this paper. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a method to predict ultra-short term wind power production with chaotic time series. Through analysis of the data measured from real wind farm, the ultra-short term prediction model of wind power is established based on the space theory of chaotic time series phase. The wind power of a real wind farm in northeast China in some future time including 15 m, 30 m and 1h are predicted by the prediction model finally. Test results are presented in the paper. Abstract: Firstly, this paper takes government departments, educational institutions and business organizations as the three dimensions of innovation factors to analyze how the variables under the three dimensions influence innovative culture of Zhejiang province from the view of educational factors.Secondly, the paper uses interview and questionnaire survey to collect data, and then, it analyzes the data with correlation and regression methods. The focused process is completed by SPSS software. Finally, the paper establishes the multiple factor regression models to reveal their internal logic relationship and mechanisms, and then respectively discusses the outcome of the three dimensions of government agencies, business organizations and educational institutions. Abstract: This paper empirically analyzes the effect of the indigenous R&D, introduction of technology on the energy consumption intensity in China, based on a panel of 31 industrial sectors for 1998–2006.The results show that indigenous R&D contributes to a significant decline of energy intensity in high energy-consuming intensity group and 31 industrial sectors,and has no significant effects on energy consumption intensity in low energy-consuming intensity group. Foreign technology purchased has a significant negative influence on energy consumption intensity only in 31 industrial sectors. Domestic technology transfer has no significant impact on energy consumption intensity in all samples. Abstract: This paper firstly propose to solve the responsibility definition problem in the calculation of eco-compensation quantity. It adopts Gini coefficient method to allocate emission permit according to the principle of equity and efficiency. And establish nine indicators mainly equity indicators to allocate the water rights. Abstract: Rural tourism can make full use of tourism resources in rural areas to adjust and optimize rural industrial structures, extend the agricultural industrial chain, develop rural tourism services, promote nonagricultural employment, increase the incomes of farmers, and create a better economic base for the new rural construction. This paper uses the method of SWOT analysis to make a comprehensive evaluation and analysis on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the development of rural tourism in Suzhou. Through the combination of internal resources and external environment, this paper clearly determines the advantages and disadvantages of Suzhou rural resources, comprehends the opportunities and challenges to be faced, and also proposes the corresponding countermeasures. Abstract: How to accomplish the assessment of environmental quality and its quantitative? How investments in environmental protection affect environmental quality? Such issues were hot in environment protection. This paper do an empirical analysis with data of Chongqing from 1996 to 2009 based on Set Pair Analysis methods, the results showed environmental quality from 1996-1998 were “worse”, the quality in 1999 and 2000 were “qualified”, the quality were “better” from 2001-2006 and were “good” in 2008 and 2009. And then, the paper unified the correlation of each level into a coordinate system in order to quantitative value of environmental quality. Through the analysis of relationship between investment in environmental protection and environmental quality, it was found that 1% changing of environmental protection investment could cause 9% changing of environmental quality. In addition, changing rate of environmental quality has lagged 1 year compared with changing rate of environmental protection investment. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Arithmetic average annual growth of China''s real GDP has reached 9.93 percent over the 30 year period since the start of reform in 1979 up to 2009. Numerous books and articles have been written in the past to try to Account for the emergence of such an economic titan. This paper aims at sorting out, quantitatively, factors that seem to have been the culprits of high growth. In assessing the major factors that seem to explain the past high growth, the standard approach in the literature has been the supply side growth accounting. Growth accounting has the merit of being able to show quantitatively the contributions of growths of capital and labor, and the increase in productivity that is not attributed to them (growth of total factor productivity). We shall conduct fresh calculation of this growth accounting, but do more along the way. In what follows, this paper first examines the growth accounting which is a standard method of attributing GDP growth to three sources of growth: capital, labor and total factor productivity (TFP).The second part of this paper attempts to an Analysis of TFP growth. We focus on education and financial development as very important determinants of the level of TFP. Our analysis above shows that there are two serious imbalances in the Chinese economy today. One is the weakness in personal consumption growth. The other is the non-declining share of the secondary sector (manufacturing). The Chinese government recognizes that these problems exist. As for the low consumption problem, Yang (2010) emphasizes the importance of increasing services consumption in his lecture text at the Communist Party School, but there is no prescription. The 11th Five-Year Plan aimed at promoting consumption, but failed. The coming 12th Five-Year Plan will give it another try, but the achievement will be very difficult. We see few signs of this current high growth regime changing, and high growth is likely to continue for a foreseeable future. Whether this is a blessing for China is something to be studied. Abstract: The technological innovation capability directly restricts the formation of the sustainable competitive advantage of the high-tech industry. This paper aims to find out the key factors which restrict the promotion of technological innovation capability of high-tech industry and their relative importance. Based on the basic data of high-tech industries by 30 provinces in China, the paper distinguish the regional differences of high-tech industries’ technological innovation capability by using the factor analysis and cluster analysis. Study finds that the regional differences of technological innovation capability of high technology industry can be attributable to the five factors, the absolute value of technological input and output, the relative value of technological input, the relative value of technological output, financial support environment, intellectual capital. Abstract: With China''s urbanization construction development, urban size becomes larger and larger, and the number of urban vehicles is increasing rapidly. The contradictions rise with the keeping on huge demand road while the infrastructure is relatively insufficient. To settle down the traffic problem, technical measures should be taken. In this paper, we propose a RFID-based intelligent traffic control system. The contributions of our work is defining the RFID-based intelligent traffic control system (RITCS in short) that can ease traffic jam phenomenon, Judging crossroad''s jam caused by traffic accident and alarming automatically, informing drivers the traffic jams situation direction of forward motion by notice board, and changing the signals to control the traffic volume dynamically to ease the traffic pressure. The algorithm proposed in the paper descript how the traffic accident being judged, how the signals are changed and what message about the traffic situation being showed on the notice board. Abstract: The paper reviews the motivation of the shift from form-focused methods to content-based instruction in ESL/EFL settings, and makes a survey of empirical researches about effects of the narrative approach on EFL/ESL learning in different parts of the world. All the researches listed in the paper suggest that the narrative approach is a desirable medium to facilitate learners’ language competence. Meanwhile the paper, considering the English teaching context in China, analyzes the constraints and challenges in applying the approach, and accordingly presents some suggestions and advice for EFL teachers and researchers in China [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: The economic status of China is on the increase internationally, but the competitiveness of our culture trade is low in more and more important international culture soft power areas, affecting directly the development and culture safety of the country. on the basis of exploring the situation of culture trade in present China, this paper will seek for existed problems during the process of production and export of culture products. Abstract: In the post-crisis era, the private economy in China was paid great attention by the government departments. In this paper, the reason why private enterprises in China at the early stage often faced failure on expanding was considered. The relevant literature showed that expanding for private enterprises was constrained by the capability system themselves. Based on the above view, the theoretical model of expanding for private enterprises under the capability system was constructed, and the reason why private enterprises faced failure on expanding was that the capability system have been ignored and a drastic strategy on expanding was designed. Abstract: Environmental impact evaluation is an essential component in environmental impact assessment study for any developmental project. In China, the rapid development of local and regional transportation systems has been accompanied by environmental problems, which prove to be detrimental for the economic development, social stability and public health. The project METRASYS provide a prototype for an integrated environmental monitoring and simulation system. This project deals with one of the most exigent problems of current and future mega cities and metropolitan regions. Under a scenario, various case studies of environmental impacts caused by transport in urban areas have been studied using the REGOZON model. This model includes a built-in mesoscale meteorological model that computes the local meteorological fields from synoptic fields. Since the emission model strongly depends on the other submodels, the whole system architecture for traffic flow, traffic emissions and air pollution dispersion will also be introduced. This paper describes the methodology used to evaluate these impacts. Data bases for model input and simulation results, as well as a graphic user interface for spatial data visualization. Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to provide a basis for construction of water conservation type of vegetation. In this paper, the forest soil pore distribution and water storage properties of four typical forests (mixed wood, broadleaf forest, bamboo forest and shrub forest) in Jinyun Mountain were compared. The water holding capacity of soil non-capillary of shrub forest is 88.24 millimeter, 83.52 millimeter in mixed wood, 75.96 millimeter in broadleaf forest, and 63.48 millimeter in the bamboo forest. The saturation water capacity of shrub forest is 361.62 millimeter, 323.16 millimeter in mixed wood, 295.62 millimeter in broadleaf forest, and 267.92 millimeter in the bamboo forest. The results indicated that the water holding capacity of soil non-capillary from high to low is shrub forest > mixed wood > broadleaf forest > bamboo forest. The shrub forest and mixed wood have higher water conservation function than the bamboo forest. Therefore, it is proposed that in the future the shrub forest and mixed wood should be afforested and managed firstly. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Assessment of heavy metal risk and spatial distribution for special area are fundamental to the study of soil environmental quality. The paper provides a case of artificial neural network using for the soil quality assessment, which does focus on eight heavy metal pollutants, Hg, Cd, Pb, Cr, As, Zn, Cu and Ni. Firstly, the paper introduces the Back Propagation Neural Network theory using in the soil evaluation of heavy metals pollutants. Secondly, the authors designed the model with 8 input parameters. Thirdly, the model was simulated and experiments were done extensively using MATLAB neural network toolbox. In the study area City Baotou and its suburbs, we totally collected 220 soil samples from measuring points. From the GIS analysis, we find that the pollution is mainly caused by human industrial activities. And the enrichment of heavy metals in topsoil is very obvious in industrial areas and regions near both sides of the Kundulun River. It is concluded that the model of BP neural network is a practical and simple method for the soil quality assessment. The model can take advantages of simple network structure, fast convergence rate and well generality for soil heavy metal pollution evaluation. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Eco-sensitivity analysis is the premise and basis for the planning of regional ecological environment, while the protection and improvement of the ecological environment is the key to the regionally sustainable development. With the GIS technology and by using the factor-overlap method, the eco-sensitivity of the New Riverside Center of Nanjing City is thoroughly analyzed in this paper by selecting 4 categories of regionally representative factors. Then this paper classifies the study area into absolutely sensitive ecological sub-areas, high sensitive ecological sub-areas, generally sensitive ecological sub-areas and low sensitive ecological sub-areas according to the level of eco-sensitivity. It further proposes measures and suggestions to regional protection and construction, so as to provide reference for the development of local urban and rural construction and environmental protection. The results show that absolutely sensitive sub-areas and high sensitive sub-areas account for about 42.8% in the total area, indicating that the eco-sensitivity of the study area is generally high. Abstract: Remote sensing data has an important application value and scientific significance .in retrieval of lake surface temperature (LST). On September 6, 2008, China successfully launched two optical small satellites (respectively called HJ-1A, HJ-1B.) to monitor and predicate environment and disaster. HJ-1B satellite includes an infrared camera (IRS). The camera has a thermal infrared band which can dynamically monitor LST of large river basins in 4 days. HJ-IRS is a new sensor, so there are few papers researching on the retrieval of LST.The main goal of this paper is to introduce a practical method to obtain LST from HJ-IRS thermal data. In this paper, we reviewed primary algorithms of LST retrieval and mainly analyzed Qin′s mono-window algorithm retrieving LST from Landsat TM6 (Thematic Mapper) thermal data. This algorithm included two empirical relationships about atmospheric transmittance and atmospheric average temperature. But these relationships are only suitable for TM6. So on the basis of the spectral response function of HJ-IRS therma1 band we use radiance transfer software MODTRAN4 to simulate and calculate new coefficients in the two relationships. New algorithm requires three parameters: emissivity, vertical water vapor column and atmospheric temperature about 2 meters above the ground. We use two images of Lake Taihu to retrieve LST and validate the improved algorithm. Bias of LST retrieved from HJ-IRS data and the field measurements are smaller than 1.2K, which means this algorithm is applicable for HJ-IRS therma1 band to retrieve LST. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: This paper focus on pricing methodology research about resources contain of non-use value. Reasonable and accurate assessment of resources plays an important role in the management of coastal zone. But valuation of resources that contain of non-use value is still unsatisfactory on its validity and reliability. This paper extends the study of pricing model, which based on Subordinate Function of resource price, to a forward step research to analyze of how the resources are priced by respondents. And there are three steps to reach this aim. A survey about shoal wetland price per year is conducted to citizens of Xiamen firstly, then the pricing results of respondent are disassembled to a series weights of factors through the resolution of fuzzy relationship equations. Finally, causality between characters of respondent and weights of factor are analyzed by means of multivariate correlation analysis. The study indicates that the “Knowledge about the resource” is the most influential character of respondent that impact on a resource pricing, while “Income” is the second of influential. And “Distance from the location of resource” has the least impact on the pricing. However, another finding is that none of the 5 characters are critical to a resource pricing. Abstract: This paper presents the techniques of GIS and applies it into the management of the information system of Taihu Lake Basin, providing a new managing pattern for the Taihu Lake Basin. Through the construction of the integrated management information system of Taihu Lake Basin water among different departments of information sharing resources, it effectively use resource information scattered in various sectors and improves the data and useful information value. Abstract: Based on the conception and theory of Integrated Ecosystem Management, this paper worked out a set of spatial function planning methods for Giant Panda Habitat in Qionglai Mountains in Sichuan. In this paper, According to the regional ecological sensitivity, the relationship between ecosystem functions and services, Giant Panda Habitat in Baoxing County, one of key areas of Giant Panda Habitat in Qionglai Mountains, was divided into 4 types of main function regions: the optimized development, the major development, the restricted development and the prohibition development, and each of these four types of planning regions could be as some criteria for evaluating effectiveness of management performance of local government. Abstract: In this paper we give an overview of the situation of CO2 emissions in both Beijing and Tokyo and discuss and compare the causes for their emission changes according to decomposition based on both social activities and fuel varieties. We find that in order to enjoy a sustainable development, Beijing needs to learn from Tokyo especially in energy consumption area. Abstract: Liaoning Province is insufficient in water resources, and with the gradually increasing process of the urbanization, the degree of water resources insufficiency is exacerbating by degrees. This paper obtains the specialty of short duration storm through analyzing the years of rain data and the seriously harmful storm with picking up Shenyang as the researching object, and finally gets frequency curve of short duration rain by using DPS. Taking the campus of Shenyang Agricultural University as an example, the paper calculates the availability according to the different types of terrains, and proposes the using plan of rain, then calculates the amount of rain. Abstract: Energy, economy and environment form a mutually-influenced circulatory system. This paper uses econometric theory, according to time series data of energy consumption, GDP and industrial sewage emission from 1983 to 2009 about China, to empirically analyze the dynamic relationship among them. The result shows that: there exist the longterm stable equilibrium relationships among energy consumption, economic growth and environment. The improving action of Energy consumption on economic growth is far less than on environmental pollution. When the system deviated from the equilibrium, the adjusting speed about industry waste gas emission and energy consumption is far lower than that of economy. This paper further reveals the interaction among energy, environment and economy. Abstract: The scale of Chinese export trade is growing, and the strength of our country''s export trade is increasing gradually. With the improvement of living standard, demanding of environmental quality is also increasing gradually. In particular, the problems caused by industrial environmental pollution are very seriously, the contradiction between trade and environmental pollution is obvious. This article selects export trade data of industrial products as well as environmental pollution data from 1990 to 2009. The EKC theory is applied to international trade and environmental studies, verified the shape of our country''s EKC curve, putting the export trade variable into CUBIC model, analysis the impacts of industrial export products dependence to environment. In addition, the paper analyzes the impact of Chinese manufactured export goods to environment from scale effect, structure effect and technology effect. Abstract: This paper applies the method of factor analysis to construct the indicator system of low carbon economy and evaluates the performance of development of low carbon economy of 15 resource-based cities. The paper documents that the development performance of low carbon economy of Daqing ranks No. 3 among 15 cities, performance of inter-industry adjustment ranks No.14, energy efficiency ranks No.3, effectiveness of environmental improvement ranks No.1, and performance of secondary industry adjustment ranks No.10. The results show that Daqing has advantages in energy efficiency and effectiveness on environmental improvement, and but needs to improve its performance of in inter-industry adjustment and secondary industry adjustment. Abstract: This paper use cointegration analysis and causality research to analyze the relationship between energy intensity and industrial structure in China. By observation, we find the proportion of secondary industry change not too much in the past decade. So, we are studying the relationship between energy intensity and tertiary industry instead of studying energy intensity and industrial structure. Indirectly, the purpose of the paper is to re-examine a statement that secondary industry is the main factor that caused over-consumption in energy in China. Our finding is that tertiary industry has positive impact on energy intensity in China. It proves that tertiary industry Granger-causes energy intensity. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: This paper is about to quantify the effect of China''s urbanization on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by separating the part driven by the economic growth from the whole effect. In order to be accurate to estimate unknown parameters, this paper follows the method of Blanchard & Quah (1989), in which identifying conditions are set by assuming some shocks have no long-term effect on corresponding explained variables. We conclude that 1) Urbanization shock has an inverted hump-shaped effect on GHG emissions, in other words, nowadays the process of China''s urbanization has been accompanied with saving energy and reducing emissions; 2) The growth rate of GHG emissions, owning to the GDP shock, can be raised by almost 1.53% annually and the urbanization level approximately contributes to 18% of the change of CO2 emissions based on empirical results; 3) China''s emission reductions, in the short run, are actualy in expense of decreasing economic growth and delaying the p rocess of its urbanization. Abstract: This paper examines the application of state-space model (SSM) to the modeling of energy demand in China. The data used in the paper includes China''s aggregate energy consumption, economic growth rate, energy price, energy structure, industrial structure and aggregate population, which covers the period from 1991 to 2009. Abstract: This paper describes the more commonly used domestic and international green building rating systems and details of the evaluation of U.S. LEED, its old and new versions, the trend of improvement in LEED; Compared Chinese “Evaluation Standard for Green Building” (GB/T 50378-2006)with the LEED2009, the paper points out their shortcomings, and identify the existing differences between them. Then comes out the conclusion that LEED2009 is still target to the U.S. buildings, Chinese engineers should learn from its advantage, make use in our evaluation of green building, which is suitable for China''s actual conditions. But we make full use of Chinese buildings of the LEED rating system is not appropriate. Finally, we make a suggestion for “Evaluation Standard for Green Building” that we should add incentives for new energy sources can effectively develop our new energy, give a positive role in environment protection. Abstract: The development of small and medium-sized resource-based cities is facing an important strategic turning point. Circular economy development model is the only way for their transformations. With Zibo city of Shandong province as an example, the paper sets forth the circular economy action program and countermeasures for resource-based cities. The paper is divided into five parts. The first is the introduction and the second part assesses the current situations and the conditions of circular economy in Zibo city. Abstract: Because of climate change and the popularity of air travel, the issue of low-carbon economy of air transportation industry is no longer ignorable. However, there is no standard measurable indicator to evaluate low-carbon economy, especially for air transportation industry. To fill in the blank of this area, this paper firstly discusses general indicators of low-carbon economy for air transportation industry. Secondly, it explores measurable indicators to assess the level of low-carbon aviation based on generally published data. Finally, it takes Shenzhen aviation as a case to discuss the evaluation of its low-carbon economy with the established measurable indicators. This paper not only provides indicators for low-carbon economy of air transportation with practical measurement effectiveness, but also opens up a new direction for the study of low-carbon air transportation. Abstract: Tourism Environmental Carrying Capacity (TECC) is an important index to judge sustainability of scenic zone, which is calculated by Tourism Ecological Footprint (TEF) and Tourism Ecological Capacity (TEC). Based on theories and models of TEF, this paper calculated TEF, TEC, and TECC in Yellow Crane Tower scenic spot. In 2008, TEF per capita was 0.0570hm2, footprint of transportation and waste were large, occupied 55.89% and 33.20% respectively. TEC of Yellow Crane Tower was 108.45hm2 in 2008 and it will be 176.80hm2 in 2012. Therefore, TECC was 3 804 tourists per day and it will be 6 204 tourists per day in 2012. Actually, TECC reached 3 354 tourists per day in 2008, which showed that tourists were under Carrying Capacity, but it is in vigilant situation of sustainable development. Abstract: This paper acquires data through farmer questionnaire survey of Nanjing city, and employ logistic model to empirically analyze the relationship between farmer occupation differentiation, pension security and rural land transfer. The results show that education, occupation category, non-agricultural career skill, business pension security, land transference rights and land tenure security all have remarkable positive effect on rural land transfer, family pension security has remarkable negative effect on rural land transfer, however age, non-agricultural income proportion, population of agricultural labor force, social pension security, land mortgage rights have no significant effect on rural land transfer. Based on above conclusions, this paper made some policy recommendations which include developing non-agricultural industry and providing non-agricultural employment, advancing technology culture and career competency of rural labor force, establishing rural social security system. Abstract: This paper put forward a method to promote low-carbon development of electric power industry in China from the perspective of benchmarking circular economy efficiency of coal-fired power plants. The input-output index system that reflects reducing, reusing and recycling carbon dioxide, waste and pollution emissions for measuring the circular economy efficiency of coal-fired power plants is set up. With the survey data of 24 coal-fired power plants, the superefficiency data envelopment analysis (DEA) model is applied to ranking and improving the circular economy efficiency of these plants. And the benchmarking is carried out using the aforesaid DEA model. The benchmarking procedure proposed in this paper can be used to choose the best efficiency benchmark of circular economy in the environmental management of power plants and enhance the low-carbon development of coal-fired power industry. Abstract: Reclamation is the important utilization manner of ocean for mankind. Yet because reclamation changes natural bank shape in short term and small scale, so it can strongly disturb the whole natural system and bring a new misbalance, which affect the stability, diversity and sustainability of the seashore. In order to avoid and lighten the influence of reclamation, we should analyze and diagnose the possible effects, which can do some theory preparations for settling this problem. As a case study in Jiaozhou Bay, this paper selects 9 indicators to base the indicator system. The frame principle of the indicator system includes scientific, synthetical, viable, representative, hierarchical, systematic and data available. Basing the influencing aspects, this article uses the method of analytic hierarchy process (AHP), qualitative and quantitive method to calculate the indicators. By using the judging matrix, hierarchy sorting and indicators, the paper calculates the effect degree of reclamation to environment and ecosystem is comparatively high, and its growth is an increasing process in Jiaozhou Bay. Abstract: This paper analyzes the relevance between economic growth and carbon emission in China and finds that the two parts are highly related and, in the long run, they are in steady equilibrium and two-way cause-and-effect relationship.
