1. A study of the relationship of the characteristics of injured workers receiving vocational rehabilitation services and their depression levels

This article examines the relationship between gender, educational level, income level, age, ethnic status, pre-injury psychological history, time away from the work force since injury, severity of work injury, job skill level and depression levels among 250 unemployed customers with work-related injuries. A demographic questionnaire along with the Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI-II) was administered to determine depression levels. A forced multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis was employed to analyze the relationship between the predictor variables and depression. MLR results revealed that length of time away from the work force, age, and pre-injury psychological history were significantly associated with depression levels among injured workers.
