The article focuses on the efforts of Japan to campaign for regional cooperation in East Asia. As the country prepares to improve its presence in global politics, it attempts to manage the politico-security and economic affairs in East Asia because of the region's increasing role in the country's peace and prosperity. As part of the country's campaign, Japanese businesses have established two region-wide production and distribution networks, one with Southeast Asia and the other with China.

Labor markets must be re-regulated so job and income protection would be provided, to actively engage in the creation of jobs and to institute and enforce laws which protect the collective and individual rights, health and safety and livelihood of all working people.
