This research seeks to gain insight into the reading preferences of adolescents as they begin secondary education. The study examined a sample of 664 students in the first year of compulsory secondary education (ESO) in Cádiz to determine any similarities with small samples in other national and international contexts (Spain, Chile, Poland, and Portugal). The methodology employs reading format as a dependent variable and explores its relationship with the independent variables “sex” and “love of reading.” The statistics were processed with univariate and bivariate analyses to explore preferences for reading formats, and a CHAID analysis to establish reading profiles. The results show that traditional reading formats are preferred by the most avid readers, while more infrequent readers prefer to read digitally. This information offers opportunities to devise teaching strategies that promote reading in virtual environments.

As práticas pedagógicas centradas em videojogos têm vindo a tornar-se cada vez mais populares, dado oferecerem vantagens empiricamente validadas no que diz respeito ao envolvimento dos alunos, à sua motivação e sentido de agência. Estes construtos afetivos são agora reconhecidos como componentes-chave de uma aprendizagem eficaz e significativa, favorecendo o desenvolvimento de competências cognitivas de nível superior. Contudo, enquanto se atesta um número elevado de estudos sobre o uso de videojogos educativos nas áreas das Ciências, Tecnologia, Engenharia e Matemática (STEM), é necessário ainda explorar as potencialidades desses recursos nas disciplinas de Humanidades. Analogamente, devem ser empreendidos mais esforços no sentido da investigação e implementação de atividades que atribuam aos alunos, especialmente àqueles de níveis inferiores ao do Ensino Superior, o papel de designers de videojogos, aliado ao de jogadores. Desta feita, criam-se as condições para que os alunos construam material didático autêntico, sob a forma de experiências digitais imersivas, que apresentam tanto um valor educacional como de entretenimento. Assim, este artigo funciona como um Position Paper sobre a Aprendizagem Baseada em Jogos Digitais ou Digital Game-based learning (DGBL), descrevendo as vantagens afetivas de se jogar e criar videojogos educativos na sala de aula de Humanidades, enquanto reflete criticamente sobre possíveis obstáculos ao sucesso desta prática. O nosso objetivo é estudar como a tecnologia educativa e imersiva pode satisfazer as necessidades de aprendizagem da Geração Z, tendo em consideração os diferentes fatores contextuais que definem o seu perfil.

La Formación Inicial Docente es una etapa clave de la trayectoria formativa en que se construyen distintas representaciones sobre lo que es ser profesor y evaluador; presentándose la evaluación como contenido y competencia profesional. Sin embargo, aunque se alberga la expectativa de una evaluación orientada al aprendizaje, en Educación Superior prevalece la función sumativa y la hetero evaluación, con escasa participación de los sujetos evaluados (futuros profesores) durante el proceso evaluativo. En este marco, se realizó un estudio transversal de tipo descriptivo, con 41 estudiantes de Pedagogía Básica de una universidad del centro sur de Chile, con el propósito de identificar, a nivel de percepción, qué opinan del uso de One Minute Paper. Los resultados muestran una valoración positiva de la experiencia por parte de los sujetos bajo estudio, al favorecer el aprendizaje activo y la participación, y se alude al tiempo como principal factor obstaculizador.

New Ukrainian and world realities set new tasks for the higher educational establishments, which are related to the search for new, modern methods that allow to increase the effectiveness of training. Currently, topical are the issues of not only professional but also the personal development of the student forming the priority in the implementation of educational activities in universities, preparation for future professional activities, as well as for successful interaction in society. The concept of «individual social competence» is an important factor in creating a system of educational process which takes into account aspects of professional development, and at the same time the peculiarities of the formation of the student personality. The author analyses the concept of «competence», considers the key competences for lifelong learning, identified by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union, including social competence, studies the scientific achievements of Ukrainian and foreign scientists, including G. Gedviliene, H. S. Han, K. M. Kemple, U.P. Kanning, M. Horenburg, G.W. Ladd, H. K. Ma, K. Monahan, M. Monnier, O.V. Varetska, N.I. Hlebova, D.V. Hubareva, O.I. Hura, M.O. Doktorovych, I.B. Zarubinska, O.O. Subina, V.M. Shakhrai. They explored different aspects of social competence of different age categories. The author concludes that, despite different interpretations, all scientists agree that social competence is an acquired skill, it can be formed and developed throughout life. It was also determined that the developed social competence determines the status of the individual in society, it affects the success in professional activities. The high level of social competence allows a person not only to be realized in professional activities, but also to influence the processes in society, which in turn determines its stability. The author’s definition of the concept of «individual social competence» is given in the paper; the author concludes that social competence is an integrated ability that contains other competencies: spiritual, civic, communicative, linguistic; the concept of social competence is closely related to professional competence, without the successful interaction of the individual with society it is impossible to acquire the skills and abilities inherent in a qualified specialist. Thus, an important task for modern higher education is the formation and development of social competence of students, which is the key to successful implementation of the future specialist in professional activities. The educational process should be aimed at forming a system of knowledge about interaction in society, understanding the system of social values, ability to cooperate in society, the ability to communicate constructively, because only a socially competent person can.

Lipoedema is a chronic progressive disorder of adipose tissue leading to an enlargement of lower extremities. It is considered to be rare; however, the prevalence of the disease is underestimated because it is commonly misdiagnosed as obesity or lymphedema and the general awareness is poor. The etiology of the disorder is considered to be multifarious, including genetic inheritance, hormonal imbalance and microcirculation alterations. Diagnosis is mainly based on medical history and physical examination. Management of lipoedema is focused on reducing the symptoms, improving the quality of life and preventing further progression of the disease. The aim of this paper is to raise the awareness of the disease and provide appropriate clinical guidance for the assessment of lipoedema. We searched through the PubMed/MEDLINE database and took into consideration all of the results available as of 6September, 2020 and outlined the current evidence regarding lipoedema epidemiology, etiology, clinical presentation, differential diagnosis, and management. Better understanding of lipoedema is crucial for establishing an early diagnosis and a proper treatment, which in turn will reduce the psychological and physical implications associated with the disease.

The São Paulo Network Program of Teacher Training (RedeFor) of the Secretary of Education of São Paulo State /Brazil, has proposed in partnership with the São Paulo State University, the continuing education for teachers of the State public school system, through specialization courses, about Inclusive and Special Education, in the distance learning modality. In order to meet an audience of 1.600 teachers, seven courses were implemented from 2014 to 2015, amongst which is the course of Special Education, with a total workload of 444 hours spread between activities in the Virtual Learning Environment of UNESP, internships, In-Person Meetings as well as preparation and presentation of scientific papers. After the completion of disciplines and In-Person Meetings, in 2015 were created 55 groups for the guidance of academic papers, where each supervisor had to perform the online pedagogical mediation of 10 to 20 course participants for the preparation of a scientific paper. It is intended to discuss in this article the aspects present in two scientific papers developed within the course, which addressed the discussion about the beginning teachers and curriculum for the development of Special Education within the Inclusive perspective. The results demonstrate that this specialization course brought important elements to the axis of participant's reflections, so that Special Education can really be strengthened in an inclusive perspective, in the public schools of São Paulo.

El proceso de mejora de enseñanza-aprendizaje en el contexto universitario ha generado la aplicación de nuevas o mejoradas técnicas docentes, las cuales fomenten una participación activa del alumno y una mayor interacción con el profesor. El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido analizar el grado de satisfacción del alumnado universitario con una de las innovaciones docentes más populares, sobre todo, por su bajo coste y sencillez, que es el one minute paper, la cual registró una alta tasa de participación en el contexto analizado. En particular, esta experiencia docente se hizo en una asignatura de contabilidad en el Grado de Administración y Dirección de Empresas de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela.

Admission Dysfunctions of the lumbosacral spine are among the most common problems related to the movement of contemporary society throughout the world, and its incidence increases with age. In recent years, increased interest in the issues fascia, which until recently was neglected in the etiology of low back pain. One of the therapeutic options that can be applied in the case of chronic pain syndrome lumbar-sacral spine techniques are easing myofascial (ang. Myofascial release, MFR), which is one of the latest methods in the field of manual medicine. Objective of the work The aim of the work was overview AD recently published study on the effectiveness of techniques easing myofascial pain in chronic lumbar-sacral spine. Material and methods To find the current investigate research (publications of the last 5 years) dedicated to MFR in the treatment of chronic pain, lumbar-sacral spine searched the following databases: PubMed, PEDro (Physiotherapy Evidence Database), ScienceDirect and Academic Search Premier. The following keywords: myofascial release, myofascial release therapy, myofascial pain, chronic low back pain. Results 9 qualified to review the studies investigating the effect of loosening myofascial pain and range of motion, functional limitations, muscles, as well as the quality of life in people with chronic pain lumbosacral spine. Conclusions The results of this review show that there is little research on the MFR employs treat ailments low back pain lumbar - sacral. Based on the studies included in this review can be concluded that the MFR can be an effective treatment for back pain lumbar - sacral, but there is a need for further research with a well-developed research procedure that will allow the standardization of this therapeutic method.

En aquesta investigació es presenta el Projecte d'Innovació Docent ComunicArte16 dut a terme en el curs 2015-2016 en l'assignatura Estructura Econòmica del Sector de la Comunicació del grau en Comunicació i Relacions Públiques d'ESIC Business & Marketing School, on van participar 21 alumnes. ComunicArte16 té com a objectiu incrementar la participació de l'alumnat a través de la proposta i disseny de les seues pròpies accions docents a realitzar a l'aula. A partir de les 14 accions proposades, es va sol·licitar a cinc docents especialistes en la matèria que revelaren les seues preferències d'acord amb els objectius del currículum de l'assignatura. Aquest procés s'ha articulat sobre quatre eixos: analitzar, connectar, experimentar i crear (ACEC), seguint com a referència el Model d'Estils d'Aprenentatge de Felder-Silverman (FSLSM). Per a la selecció d'accions docents de ComunicArte16 es va seguir el Procés Analític Jeràrquic (AHP) que, a través de la comparació aparellada d'alternatives de tipus autoexcloents, va brindar una prelació ponderada i va donar lloc a la selecció efectiva de 4 accions, una per a cada eix. L'anàlisi dels resultats avala una alta acceptació de ComunicArte16 entre l'alumnat, incrementant la participació activa a l'aula i millorant el seu compromís a través d'una major taxa d'assistència a classe.

El Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior (EEES) promueve la aplicación de nuevas técnicas docentes para lograr una interacción significativa alumno- docente, corrigiendo problemas de aprendizaje oportuna y eficazmente. Este trabajo analiza la técnica one minute paper en estudios de grado universitario, y sus implicaciones sobre el rendimiento académico. Frente a un enfoque predominantemente teórico de trabajos previos, se aporta evidencia empírica con una amplia muestra de alumnos, constituyendo una experiencia docente extrapolable a otros centros educativos. En general, se obtuvo una alta participación en la técnica y existió una importante interacción en el aula. Además, la tasa de éxito en el examen fue superior entre aquellos alumnos que participaron mayoritariamente en los one minute papers, frente a aquellos que fueron evaluados solo con dicho examen. En conclusión, la aplicación de nuevas técnicas docentes contribuye positivamente al aprendizaje, mejorando el rendimiento académico y potenciando una mayor interacción profesor-alumno.

O artigo analisa a produção acadêmica publicada nas principais plataformas brasileiras de divulgação cientifica acerca da avaliação na Educação Infantil. O estudo utilizou como aporte metodológico a Analise de Conteúdo de Laurence Bardin, tendo como recorte temporal o período de 1996 até 2015. Os dados foram classificados em quatro categorias de analise, que sugerem uma producao acadêmica sobre a avaliação na Educação Infantil ainda escassa, todavia em ascensão, com predominância de producao na área de Educação. Outro ponto tratado no estudo refere-se aos múltiplos focos acerca da temática avaliação e Educação Infantil. Os estudos baseiam-se tanto em aspectos do microcontexto, como o registro e a documentação pedagógica, passando pelo uso de escalas e testes padronizados que objetivam avaliar o desenvolvimento da criança em aspectos de macrocontexto, como nas avaliações da qualidade do ambiente, das instituições e dos sistemas de ensino. Por fim, o artigo destaca ainda que essa temática requer uma ampla discussão a fim de construir uma melhor compreensão dos sujeitos que por ela são influenciados (professoras, crianças, famílias e equipes gestoras). This research seeks to provide a general overview of educational research in Latin America based on the study of articles published in Latin American impact journals and written by authors of the Region. Specifically, the 1,086 articles on empirical research in education written by Latin American authors and published in journals published in Latin America and indexed in jcr (isi Web of Science), Scopus or scielo, during the years 2014, 2015 and 2016 are reviewed. Four elements are reviewed: the authorship of the articles, the subject of study, the level of education addressed and the research methodology used. The results indicate that three countries (Brazil, Mexico and Chile) concentrate 75% of the papers, 59.1% of the authors are women and 53% of the papers are signed by three or more people. Among the most studied topics include Learning and school performance, Teachers and Teaching strategies, curriculum and teaching practices. Higher Education is clearly the most studied, with 43.1% of the papers. And, finally, there is no priority methodological approach, with practically half of qualitative articles, the other half quantitative. With all this information, it is possible to conclude some elements that translate into the need for greater support for research, a rethinking of topics and levels of study and a boost to collaborative research.

This research paper aims to show the panorama and scope of the current existing sex education practices carried out by the Costa Rican public universities. It analyzes different initiatives, its theoretical approaches that guide the actions, their purposes and other relevant aspects. The analysis includes secondary information as well as the point of view of students and university staff, as inputs for decision-making aimed at improving the overall education of young people. The findings take part of an exploratory research based on qualitative and quantitative methodologies based on gender and constructionism perspective. The information was gathered via the application of a questionnaire to a specific uneven stratified cluster groups, composed by 766 enrolled undergraduate students since first semester 2011 at Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. The statistical margin of error was 1.5% and the confidence level of 95%. In addition, two focus groups with students and depth interviews with 16 persons were made. Data were tabulated with CSPRO software and analyzed using R software. The findings suggest that Costa Rican universities recognize the importance of sex education as an essential part of overall development of students. Most of the initiatives are institutionalized; however, the lack of guidelines or policies on the subject, in most institutions, affects quality, consolidation and expansion of services. The need to strengthen and expand training activities on sexuality was identified as well. The students have a high opinion about the services offered, but few of them use these services, because they are perceived as less accessible and friendly. This paper concludes that it is a priority to maintain and strengthen existing initiatives on sexual education, so that they can effectively satisfy the needs of youth, with timely interventions and quality to enjoy a healthy and safe sexuality free from violence.

Europa ha implantado una estrategia institucional en la Universidad para transitar de un modelo educativo focalizado en la enseñanza hacia otro cuyo eje es el aprendizaje, imponiendo la necesidad de evaluar si ello se traduce en una mejora del rendimiento académico. Este trabajo analiza el efecto de un sistema de evaluación continua basado en la realización de diferentes actividades, destacando la aplicación de una técnica de innovación docente denominada one minute paper, sobre el resultado académico de alumnado universitario a través de modelos probit y tobit. Los resultados muestran que los alumnos han participado regular y satisfactoriamente en todas las actividades, las cuales han denotado una influencia positiva y significativa sobre la probabilidad de aprobar la asignatura en primera convocatoria oficial, y sobre la nota obtenida. Asimismo, el one minute paper ha mostrado su utilidad a la hora de mejorar sus resultados académicos.

Analisamos as vertentes teórico-metodológicas que nortearam os TCCs da Pedagogia da FURB no período de 2001 a 2006. Fizemos uma análise documental dos 321 trabalhos realizados. Constatamos que todos os trabalhos desenvolvidos voltaram-se à área da Educação. Quanto às subáreas, predominaram: educação pré-escolar, psicologia educacional, educação especial e sociologia da educação. Os teóricos mais utilizados foram: Vygotsky, Piaget, Kramer, Freire, Áries, Wallon e Ferreiro. Frente às subáreas, sugerimos que as futuras pesquisas contemplem investigações nos campos não ou poucos explorados. Entendemos que os clássicos são importantes e precisam ser utilizados, entretanto, sentimos falta, em alguns trabalhos, de autores mais específicos ao objeto em estudo. As pesquisas, em sua maioria, delinearam-se na abordagem qualitativa, destacando-se o uso de dados quantitativos em alguns trabalhos. Quanto aos tipos de pesquisa predominaram a pesquisa exploratória, participante e estudo de caso. Consideramos que estes tipos de pesquisa estão relacionados ao processo de iniciação à pesquisa. Os instrumentos de coleta de dados, os mais utilizados foram o questionário, precedido da entrevista e da observação. Cabe ressaltar, que muitos acadêmicos utilizaram mais de um instrumento, o que possivelmente possibilitou compreender o objeto sob vários aspectos. A documental analysis has been made on the methodological and theoretical guidelines in the end of term papers of the Pedagogy Course at FURB University in 321 works from 2001 to 2006. It has been noticed that all the developed papers focused the educational area. As for the sub areas, the predominant ones were: education in Pre School, educational psychology, special education and educational sociology. The most used theoretical authors were: Vygotsky, Piaget, Kramer, Freire, Aries, Wallon and Ferreiro. For the sub areas, it has been suggested that the future researches should include investigations on less or not focused studied fields. The importance of classic objects of research has been understood and those must be tackled. However, in some works there is an absence of more specific authors on the studied object. Most researches have been developed on the qualitative approach and some have used quantitative data. In relation to the research types, the predominant ones were the exploratory, participant and case study types. It has been considered that such kinds are related to the process of initiation to research. The most used instruments for data collection were a questionnaire preceded by interview and observation. Several research students have used more than one instrument, which possibly led to a comprehension of the subject under a variety of aspects.

This research project revolves around the properties of text linguistics under a qualitative approach. The author analyzed drafts of a research paper by two university students as well as lesson plans and textbooks of high school Spanish Language and Literature courses and lesson plans of courses from the Licentiate degree in Education. According to the information from the drafts, students struggle with coherence and cohesion in writing; however, they succeed in choosing the correct language for the type of writing. Difficulties are most likely due to fact that this topic is not included in secondary education plans and is not commonly addressed in textbooks or university classes. In conclusion, teachers should include the properties of text linguistics in their lesson plans in order to help students overcome these difficulties.

O jornal Pétalas Infantil era uma produção manuscrita, feita em folhas avulsas, realizada pelas alunas do curso primário do Colégio Coração de Jesus, uma instituição religiosa e feminina de Florianópolis/SC e cujos exemplares, entre 1945 e 1952, foram conservados em um acervo pessoal. Considerado material ordinário, o texto deste estudo centra-se na análise dos artigos e comentários que expressavam preceitos veiculados pelo Pelotão de Saúde, uma associação complementar da escola, legitimada por lei e cujo propósito era auxiliar na criação e manutenção de princípios higiênicos como integrantes da cultura escolar do período. O artigo vincula-se ao campo de pesquisa da História da Educação e da cultura escrita entendidas, ambas, como produções discursivas e escolares de um determinado tempo e lugar que, tanto pelos suportes em que se apresentam à leitura, como pelos preceitos higienistas e cívicos que punham em circulação, permitem pensar a importância desse material na construção de uma memória para o reconhecimento de diferentes práticas, costumes, rituais, ações que integravam o ambiente escolar do período em pauta.Palavras-chave: jornal infantil, pelotão de saúde, higiene e cultura escolar. VOLATILE SHEETS, MANUSCRIPT PAPERS: THE PLATOON OF HEALTH IN PETALS CHILDISH JOURNAL (COLÉGIO CORAÇÃO DE JESUS - FLORIANÓPOLIS/SC, 1945-1952) AbstractPetals Childish journal was a handwritten production, made in single sheets of paper, held by the students of the primary school Coração de Jesus, a religious institution for girls in Florianópolis/SC and whose exemplary, between 1946 and 1952, were kept in a personal collection. Considered ordinary material this study focused on the analysis of the articles and comments that expressed precepts conveyed by the Pelotão de Saúde (Platoon of Health), a complementary association of the school, legitimized by law, and whose purpose was to assist in the creation and maintenance of hygienic principles as part of the school culture of the period. The article connects to the search field of the history of education and education’s history, both understood as writing discursive and school productions of a determined time and place that, as much by the stand in wich it is presented to reading, as much as by the hygienist and civic precepts it laid in circulation, allow you to think of the importance of this material in the construction of a memory for the recognition of different practices, customs, rituals, actions that were part of the school ambient of the period.Key-words: childish journal, platoon of health, hygiene and school culture. Considera el material ordinario, este estudio se centró en el análisis de los artículos y comentarios que expresó preceptos transmitidos por el Pelotón de Salud Complementaria, una asociación de escuela, legitimada por la ley, y cuyo propósito era ayudar en la creación y mantenimiento de los principios higiénicos como parte de la cultura escolar del período. Considéré comme matérial ordinaire, cette étude a porté sur l'analyse des articles et des commentaires qui expriment les préceptes transmis par le Peloton de la Complémentaire Santé, une Association de l'école, légitimé par la loi, et dont le fonction est d'aider à la création et au maintien des principes de l'hygiène dans le cadre de la culture de l'école de la période. L'article est situé vers le champ de recherche de l'histoire de l'éducation et la culture écrit, et enténd les deux comme écriture discursive et productions de l'école d'un particulier temps et lieu qui, pour les prend en charge que se présentent à la lecture, pour civique et préceptes hygiénistes mis en mouvement, nous permettent de penser que l'importance de ce materiél dans la construction d'une mémoire pour la reconnaissance des différentes pratiques, les rituels, les actions qui faisaient partie du milieu de la période scolaire.Mots-clé: journal des enfants, peloton de la culture de la santé, l'hygiène et l'école.

En aquest treball si presenten els resultats de les enquestes realitzades als estudiants a la Universitat de Duke (EUA) pel que fa a l’ ús de la traducció automàtica (TA) en els cursos de llengües estrangeres, així com les percepcions de la TA entre els instructors. En primer lloc, es presenta una visió general de l'estat de la TA en els mitjans de comunicació nacionals i també al món acadèmicc. Ademés, els invetigadors ofereixen una explicació del seu interés en la temática. En segon lloc, es presenten els resultats de les enquestes realitzades entre els anys 2011 i 2012 als estudiants i instructors, investigant els patrons d’us a l'aprenentatge d'idiomes i les percepcions sobre la utilitat de la TA. Les nostres troballes evidencien una gran discrepància entre professors i estudiants pel que fa a la utilitat de la TA en l'aprenentatge de segones llengües.

There was in Spain an inicial «army of teachers» freinetians, a group of snipers commited to the renovation of the system of education which was born and grew in the shade of the Republic. From there it extended to Montijo -principal center of diffusion for the rest of the educational experiences in the region: Calamonte, Valencia de Alcantara, La Puebla del Maestre and, probably also, Arroyo del Puerco. Surprising is not only that the origin of such an educational innovation took place in a region like Las Hurdes, but also that it was proceeding almost at the same time as the huge movement in Catalonia and Aragon, and that it, most likely, was not affected by Almendros ́s influences. There are reasons to believe that the teacher Jose Vargas Gómez, the origin of everything, had early news from Freinet through the teachers from Torrijos and Camarena before arriving to Las Hurdes.

The São Paulo Network Program of Teacher Training (RedeFor) of the Secretary of Education of São Paulo State /Brazil, has proposed in partnership with the São Paulo State University, the continuing education for teachers of the State public school system, through specialization courses, about Inclusive and Special Education, in the distance learning modality. In order to meet an audience of 1.600 teachers, seven courses were implemented from 2014 to 2015, amongst which is the course of Special Education, with a total workload of 444 hours spread between activities in the Virtual Learning Environment of UNESP, internships, In-Person Meetings as well as preparation and presentation of scientific papers. After the completion of disciplines and In-Person Meetings, in 2015 were created 55 groups for the guidance of academic papers, where each supervisor had to perform the online pedagogical mediation of 10 to 20 course participants for the preparation of a scientific paper. It is intended to discuss in this article the aspects present in two scientific papers developed within the course, which addressed the discussion about the beginning teachers and curriculum for the development of Special Education within the Inclusive perspective. The results demonstrate that this specialization course brought important elements to the axis of participant's reflections, so that Special Education can really be strengthened in an inclusive perspective, in the public schools of São Paulo. O programa Rede São Paulo de Formação Docente (Redefor) da Secretaria de Educação do Estado de São Paulo/Brasil propôs, em parceria com a Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), a formação continuada de professores da rede pública estadual de ensino, em cursos de especialização nas áreas da Educação Inclusiva e Especial, na modalidade a distância. Para atender a um público de 1.600 professores, foram executados de 2014 a 2015 sete cursos, entre os quais se encontra o curso de Educação Especial na Perspectiva da Educação Inclusiva, com carga horária total de 444 horas distribuídas entre atividades no Ambiente Virtual de Aprendizagem da UNESP, estágios, Encontros Presenciais, bem como elaboração e apresentação de Trabalhos Acadêmicos (TA). Após a finalização das disciplinas e Encontros Presenciais, em 2015 foram criadas 55 turmas para orientação dos TA, em que cada orientador deveria realizar a mediação pedagógica on-line de 10 a 20 cursistas para a elaboração de um artigo científico. Pretende-se neste artigo discutir sobre os aspectos presentes em dois artigos científicos desenvolvidos no âmbito do curso, que abordaram a discussão sobre professores iniciantes e currículo para o desenvolvimento da Educação Especial na perspectiva Inclusiva. Os resultados demonstram que o curso de especialização trouxe para o eixo de reflexão dos cursistas elementos importantes para que a Educação Especial possa realmente se fortalecer em uma perspectiva inclusiva, nas escolas públicas do Estado de São Paulo.

In this paper, we aim to make a rescue of some historical landmarks founders productivity at work and in education to better understand the logic legitimizes reaching the core of the teaching activity. The advance of the criteria on the productive worker training has its first expressions in the 1940s, even during the dictatorship of the Estado Novo. Firstly, we make a brief presentation of the concept of productivity; after that, some of its founders landmarks in the history of the country are shown, and, lastly, there is a presentation of the particularity of one of these landmarks: the presence of CBAI (Brazilian-American Commission of Industrial Education .)

In South Africa, Stellenbosch University (SU) is the designated provider of Bachelor, Master and Doctorate level qualifications in Forestry and Wood Products Science. SU provides educational programs to both mechanical (sawmilling, preservation, composite products, furniture, etc.) and the chemical (pulp & paper) processing sectors. To ensure academic quality, SU regularly has her academic programs assessed externally. In 2000, several changes to the then existing 4 year B.Sc. Wood Science program were recommended. A restructured SU undergraduate program, similar to the B.Sc. Wood Products Processing program at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada, was consequently introduced in 2003. That same year, to provide more support to this effort, a partnership between UBC, SU and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, the SA institution responsible for the National Diploma and Bachelor of Technology degrees in similar subjects, was established. The objective was to develop and deliver successful tertiary programs in value-added wood product processing education for South Africa and later, for other African countries as well. A Wood Products Processing Education Project, implemented in 2004 and running until mid 2010, funded by the respective partner institutions and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) through the University Partnership in Cooperation and Development Program, was established. In addition to curriculum developments based on the UBC model, module content was modified to address relevant South African conditions. To make modules accessible to part-time students and members of industry off-campus, conversion of several Wood Products Science modules into e-learning format was implemented. A concise overview of Wood Science education at Stellenbosch University is given and the implementation and progress of the CIDA project at SU is briefly discussed. Solutions to the educational needs of the SA pulp & paper sector are also highlighted.

Introduction The rising prevalence of electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) use has prompted concerns regarding its potential health implications. While much attention has focused on respiratory and cardiovascular effects, injuries, oral trauma, and bone fractures linked to e-cigarette use have received less scrutiny. This paper aims to comprehensively review the landscape of injuries, oral trauma, and bone fractures induced by e-cigarettes, shedding light on this underexplored facet of e-cigarette-related harm. Material and Methods This literature review has analyzed 16 papers. Inclusion criteria: researches and case reports published after 2015. PubMed and Google Scholar has been searched to identify the papers. Analysis of the Literature Existing literature suggests a growing incidence of injuries, oral trauma, and bone fractures associated with e-cigarette use, albeit with limited systematic investigation. Mechanisms underlying these injuries range from device malfunctions to inadvertent impacts during use. Case reports highlight a spectrum of injuries, including oral burns, dental trauma, and skeletal fractures, often involving the face and mouth regions. Conclusions Despite the lack of comprehensive epidemiological data emerging evidence underscores the need for heightened awareness and preventive measures to mitigate e-cigarette-related injuries. Enhanced education, regulation of e-cigarette devices, and promotion of safer usage practices are crucial steps towards reducing the burden of e-cigarette-related harm on oral and skeletal health.

Human capital theory (HCT) has moved from a core tenet of neoclassical economic theory to a normative and prescriptive policy position that guides our understanding of economic growth across multiple scales, from the individual to the national. In this paper, a diverse group of graduate students interrogate their experiences of accumulating and realising ‘human capital.’ They argue that HCT holds at its centre an abstract and falsely universal subject that obscures how transnational relations of patriarchy, race, and coloniality constitute class relations and thus create a reality in which investments in human capital cannot be realised by all. This paper further elaborates how this group of adult learners developed an understanding of class as a socially constituted relation within capital and thus foregrounds the need for adult educators to work from a more nuanced articulation of class that recognizes relationality with other forms of oppression.

Introduction and purpose Non-specific and specific lower back pain syndrome is one of the leading causes of musculoskeletal disability and affects more than half of the population worldwide. The aim of this paper is to confront the problem of lumbar pain, possible diagnostic options, conservative and surgical opportunities with long term satisfactory rate. State of knowledge The paper reviews literature on lower back pain syndrome, sciatica, radiculopathy and lumbar disc herniation in regards to detection of the problem, classifying it and possible methods of resolvement. The WHO defines lower back pain as one of the leading causes of musculoskeletal dysfunction and it focuses on reducing the occurrence by programs like WHO Rehabilitation 2030 Initiative, UN Decade of Healthy Ageing and others. The paper also focuses on non surgical options of treatment. Material and method A review of the literature available in the “PubMed” and Google Schoolar was conducted. We focused on differential diagnosis depending on clinical presentation and possible treatment methods depending on symptoms, pathogenesis of the disorder and available procedures. Summary Our review managed to present the current state of development, possible differential diagnosis, prevalence of neural compressions, sciatica and radiculopathy in different diagnostic options. By receiving multiple studies we confront varied opinions of specialists regarding the approach to lower back pain syndrome and favorable forms of care. Additionally we came to the conclusion that the difference of patients' long term satisfactory rate in regards to nonoperative and operative treatment is not significant, and flattens over the years.

Gilbert’s syndrome is the most common inherited jaundice worldwide. It affects 5-10% of the population. It is caused by a mutation of the UGT1A1 gene, which results in impaired bilirubin metabolism. It is a benign disease and does not affect the life expectancy of patients. Patients with Gilbert’s syndrome should be alert to factors that exacerbate the course of the disease, interactions with medications taken and possible comorbidities such as hemolytic anemia, cholelithiasis or schizophrenia. However, it is the responsibility of physicians with such patients under their care to properly educate patients. Gilbert’s syndrome carries not only the consequences associated with the mutation, but also has many benefits that patients may not be fully aware of. Mildly elevated bilirubin levels have an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect, which prevents the development of lifestyle diseases and cancer. Ongoing clinical trials suggest that this could be a great step toward new treatments for diseases affecting the entire human population. PURPOSE OF THE WORK: This review paper aims to show Gilbert’s syndrome as a multifaceted disease and to sensitize doctors' attention to patients with the described mutation. MATERIALS AND METHODS: An analysis of papers available in PubMed and Google Scholar was performed using the following key words: Gilbert’s syndrome, bilirubin, UDP-glucuronosyltransferase, Gilbert’s syndrome harmful and protective aspects, iatrogenic Gilbert’s syndrome RESULTS: The result of the work is to present Gilbert’s syndrome as a disease that carries medical problems directly related to the mutation, but also, in some cases, has a protective effect on affected individuals. The work highlights the complexity of the problem.

Introduction and purpose: Diabetes has emerged as a global lifestyle disease, with an alarming rise in cases, particularly of type 2 diabetes. In Poland, over 3 million people are diagnosed, and an estimated 4 million cases are expected by 2030. Effective treatment involves a multifaceted approach, including dietary intervention, physical activity, and pharmacological options. Incretins, such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), play a pivotal role in carbohydrate metabolism regulation, and GLP-1 analogs have become essential in managing type 2 diabetes. This paper explores the development and mechanisms of GLP-1 analogs, detailing their impact on insulin secretion, gastric emptying, and weight reduction. Description of the state knowledge: Various GLP-1 receptor agonists, including exenatide, liraglutide, dulaglutide, semaglutide, and the novel tirzepatide, are discussed. These drugs exhibit diverse pharmacokinetics, modes of administration, and effects on glucose metabolism and weight. Despite their efficacy, there is a concerning trend of off-label use, particularly for obesity treatment, leading to shortages for patients with valid prescriptions. This misuse is fueled by para-advertising on social media platforms, contributing to a surge in prescriptions and reimbursement costs. To address this, guidelines for GLP-1 analog use in obesity treatment are proposed, emphasizing the need for a stable drug supply and normalizing drug availability. Summary: In 2023, concerns intensified with reports of counterfeit GLP-1 analogs, prompting regulatory interventions. The paper concludes by underscoring the critical role GLP-1 analogs play in diabetes and obesity treatment, while emphasizing the importance of responsible prescription practices, guidelines adherence, and regulatory vigilance to ensure patient safety and mitigate the risks associated with misuse and counterfeit drugs.

Effective body posture entails the correct alignment of body parts in relation to each other and is crucial for preserving balance, stability, and the efficient operation of muscles and joints. The major types of posture abnormalities such as lordosis, kyphosis and scoliosis can lead to alterations in various areas of the body, such as stomatognatic system. The potential correlation between malocclusion and body posture remains a subject of controversy. The aim of this review is to investigate and evaluate the association between posture defects and malocclusion on the basis of literature. This literature review has analyzed 18 studies. Inclusion criteria: clinical researches published after 2010, regarding children and adults. PubMed and Google Scholar has been searched to identify the papers. In 18 analyzed studies, 2133 patients were enrolled (including 979 children aged 4-18). A positive correlation between scoliosis and different types of malocclusion has been proven by six papers. There are also other noteworthy dependencies, such as overjet and pelvic torsion, kyphosis and sagittal position of mandible, skeletal Class III and torticollis, cross bite and scapula plane. Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis significantly affects the stomatognathic system, leading to issues like crossbite, crowding, increased overjet, overbite, partial open bite, and midline deviation. Orthopedists should collaborate with orthodontists for comprehensive treatment, particularly during developmental stages.

The paper presents breast-conserving treatment methods, including brachytherapy, as a modern technique with promising outcomes. It describes the physical properties of ionizing radiation used in brachytherapy, discussing the photoelectric effect, Compton effect, and the phenomenon of pair production. The paper then delves into the biological effects of ionizing radiation, emphasizing the dependence on the cell cycle phase. It highlights lethal, sublethal, and potentially lethal cellular damage, categorizing the effects of radiation interaction into early and late responses. The discussion transitions to the application of brachytherapy in breast cancer treatment, focusing on various techniques such as LDR, PDR, and HDR. The paper provides a detailed description of brachytherapy's use in breast-conserving treatment, considering contraindications, treatment planning, and Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI) techniques. Introduction and purpose: In our work, we focused on presenting the role of collagen supplementation and its impact on skin and joint health. We considered studies discussing the differences in the effects of collagen from various plant and animal sources. We also examined the influence of the degree of hydrolysis on the absorbability of the supplement. The aim of the paper is to comprehensively summarize knowledge on collagen supplementation, differentiating between its sources and forms. Material and methods: In our paper, we endeavored to address the subject of oral collagen supplementation comprehensively. We explored studies about various forms and sources of collagen. We also delved into the collagen supplementation impact on skin and joints health and impact of additives in enhancing the positive effect of collagen . State of knowledge: Oral collagen supplementation can be beneficial for skin and joints health. It promote collagen synthesis in human body increasing strength of skin and joints. The higher the degree of collagen hydrolysis, the more easily it is absorbed by the body. Additives in the form of vitamin C and A can enhance collagen synthesis. Results and conclusions: This review article indicates a growing interest in oral collagen supplementation and its impact on health. Although there are encouraging findings regarding positive effects, further research is necessary to better understand and determine the optimal conditions for achieving maximum supplementation benefits. This information may be crucial for clinical decisions made by physicians regarding joint reinforcement and anti-aging effects on the skin.

Introduction and purpose The term "probiotic" rooted in Latin, signifies 'for life,' reflecting the historical use of fermented products for therapeutic purposes. While browsing many websites devoted to healthy eating or popular science topics, we often came across the topic of probiotic food without any confirmation by scientific research. The aim of this paper is to confirm or exclude the presence of probiotics in popular foods. State of knowledge The paper reviews literature on the health benefits of various food that is traditionally considered probiotic, focusing on how they impact on varied health conditions. Defined by the WHO as living microorganisms conferring health benefits when consumed adequately, probiotics, mainly bacteria from Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium genera, play a vital role in maintaining gut microbiota balance, regulating digestion, supporting the immune system and influencing mental and cardiovascular health. In addition, the paper also searches for scientific basis for their action. Material and methods A review of the literature available in the “PubMed” and Google Schoolar was conducted. We focused on checking whether the microorganisms contained in pickled food meet the WHO criteria for probiotics. Summary Our review managed to prove the probiotic effect of almost all presented food, except for miso. By reviewing many articles, we shed a lot of uncertainty on the repeated myth about the lack of probiotic effect of cucumbers preserved in vinegar and what is more, we found scientific assumptions about the probiotic effect of vinegar itself. Fermented food contains numerous strains of bacteria that are resistant to acid, bile and temperature in the human digestive tract and can be effectively used as a source of probiotics. Additionally, compared to probiotics from the pharmacy, fermented products provide not only probiotics, but also nutritional value, valuable fiber and vitamins, benefiting to our health.

Introduction and purpose: The purpose of this scientific paper is to review the current knowledge of the effects of red wine on human health, particularly with regard to cardiovascular disease. State of Knowledge: Since the 1990s, red wine has gained its status as a health-promoting alcohol through the French Paradox - when drunk in moderate amounts, it protects against cardiovascular disease. The authors have collected scientific papers on the health effects of alcohol, red wine and resveratrol-a polyphenol that is the main component with health-promoting effects of wine. On their basis, they analyzed the assumptions of the positive effects of wine reaching inconclusive conclusions. Summary: Despite the fact that both ethanol and resveratrol have a positive effect in in vitro studies, in population studies their effect is much less significant, either because the negative behavioral-health effects in the case of ethanol are omitted or the actual effective doses of resveratrol are omitted.

Context: Angular gyrus is an anatomical structure of the brain located in the parietal lobe, taking part in writing and reading, language-use, memory and attention and spatial recognition. It is supplied by the angular gyrus artery, which is one of the caudal branches of the middle cerebral artery. One of the clinical pathologies of the angular gyrus artery is the ischemic stroke of the angular gyrus in the dominant hemisphere, responsible for the presence of Gerstmann Syndrome: left-right disorientation, agraphia, alexia, acalculia and finger agnosia. This systematic review aims to present the variety of anomalies of the main cerebral artery and the angular gyrus artery. Objective: Preparing a systematic review of papers describing the course anomalies of the angular gyrus artery. Materials and methods: PubMed and Google Scholar electronic databases was searched for phrases: ‘Angular gyrus artery’, ‘Artery of angular gyrus’, ‘Middle cerebral artery branches’, ‘Branches of middle cerebral artery’, ‘Gerstmann Syndrome’ published between years 2015 and 2023. Also 3 papers published before 2000 were used. From the selected 30 papers, 6 were used to prepare this analysis. Results: The middle cerebral artery, from which arises the angular gyrus artery, is marked by a significant variety of its division, mainly the number of the dividing trunks of the artery. Depending on the type of the division, the angular gyrus artery can arise from the upper, middle or lower trunk and vary in sizes. It can also appear as a singular or two separate branches. Instances of the anomaly of both the angular gyrus artery and posterior parietal artery are rare, but reported. Conclusions: The angular gyrus artery is characterised by a number of anomalies in its course, separation from the middle cerebral artery, diameter and branching.

State of knowledge: The paper reviews the current literature on the health benefits of apples, focusing on their impact on various health conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and obesity. Additionally, it examines the role of apples in improving intestinal, immune, and cognitive function. The paper also discusses the potential mechanisms by which apples exert their health benefits, such as high levels of flavonoids, polyphenols, and dietary fiber. Summary: In conclusion, the vast body of evidence reviewed in this paper supports the notion that consuming apples regularly can contribute to better health outcomes. They may help reduce the risk of chronic diseases, such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes, as well as promote healthy gut microbiota and immune function. Despite the controversy surrounding the use of pesticides in apple cultivation, the benefits of consuming apples outweigh the risks. Therefore, it is highly recommended to include apples as part of a balanced and nutritious diet to promote optimal health and wellbeing. As the saying goes, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away".

Introduction and aim Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a chronic condition that affects an increasing number of people each year[1]. Healing the ulceration requires cooperation between patients, specialists and scientists in order to achieve satisfactory results. Treating this type of wound is not only a therapeutic challenge[1,2,3,4,5,6], but also an economic one, which is why so much scientific research has already been made on this phenomenon[2,3]. Still scientists continue their quest for new cost-effective alternatives to current therapeutic options that would be consistent with contemporary knowledge and available engineering capabilities in pursuance of creating techniques and new dressings that will accelerate the healing of DFUs[2,3,7,8]. Factors such as stress, obesity, certain medications, and chronic diseases appear to negatively affect the process of repair [1,9,10,4,6,11]. Studies prove that aloe vera gel due to its healing properties, can be considered as a potential dressing that will expedite the mending process of diabetic foot ulceration[12,13,14]. In this paper, we performed a literature review of the applicability of aloe vera in the healing process of DFUs. Materials and methods Searching the available literature, including randomized clinical trials and systematic reviews, we drew on databases focusing on the effects of treatment for diabetic foot ulceration using Aloe vera. Conclusion: The current scientific research on the use of Aloe vera gel in diabetic foot ulcer treatment indicates that this method is safe, effective and inexpensive[2,3]. However the difficulty of treatment and the increasing prevalence of this type of wound pose a challenge to finding new solutions and exploring mechanisms in which aloe vera can have a possible role in the wound healing process. Nevertheless, this paper presents a promising impact of Aloe vera gel applicability in the healing process of diabetic foot ulcer.

Introduction and purpose: Currently, as the frequency of obesity is alarming, the role of many factors that could contribute in preventing and treating this condition are being researched, among them the certain food with beneficial health profiles - one of them is soybeans, specifically the isoflavones it contains. Populations that consume soy are known for lower risk of various disorders - among them obesity. The aim of this paper is to summarize the existing paper about the role of these bioactive components in the treatment of this condition. The search was conducted using PubMed and Google Scholarship databases. Brief description of the state of knowledge: Obesity is one of the leading challenges in today’s healthcare as it leads to various chronic diseases that are fraught in consequences. Current knowledge is pointing into the association between composition of the soy isoflavones and the lower risk of obesity. Results of the studies indicate that patients affected with obesity could benefit from introducing soy isoflavones into their diet along with other necessary modifications. Conclusions: Soy isoflavones are potential agents in the holistic obesity treatment. Consumption of isoflavones merits further recognition as foregoing results of conducted studies are pointing to its possibly meaningful role. It is worth mentioning that consumption of soy isoflavones is not only an anti-obese factor, but also presents various other health benefits and when consumed rationally poses no risk to human’s well being. We conclude that further studies would enable us to fully reveal the potential of those polyphenols.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The research investigates how young boys progress in life after the loss of their fathers. It explores the adjustments they make, the coping mechanisms they develop to navigate life, and the male roles they assume in the family. Additionally, it examines how family can aid and support their coping and adjustment process. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: This study utilises a case study methodology focused on gaining an understanding of the lives of two adolescent boys who experienced the death of their fathers in the early formative years of their lives. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The paper focuses on five themes- family dynamics, life transitions with and without their fathers, post-loss reassignment of family roles, present circumstances, and future goals. RESEARCH RESULTS: A qualitative analysis of the data revealed that participants’ belief systems, family support, and striving toward future goals helped them to be resilient in this event. CONCLUSIONS RECOMMENDATIONS AND APPLICABLE VALUE OF RESEARCH: While most research typically emphasises the negative impacts of death on people, this study demonstrates how individuals’ can be resilient, dependent on both person-related factors and environmental factors. To help adolescents who are grieving become resilient, the paper offers intervention and coping strategies through counselling, the availability of support networks, and combined efforts by the state and educational institutions.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: Governments across the world were forced to impose social distancing and lockdown measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, caused by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 that emerged in December 2019. Following the declaration of COVID-19 as a pandemic, the disruptions, including restrictive measures such as school closures had severe impacts on the physical, emotional and mental health of all people, especially children with special needs. There was also scant data, particularly in low-to-middle-income countries. Existing literature stems mostly from western countries, thus the need to perform a comprehensive review on this topic. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The primary objective of the systematic review is to understand the impact of COVID-19 and restrictive measures such as school closures on the educational outcomes and physical and mental health of school-going children with special needs. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: This systematic review used the PRISMA 2020 checklist where four databases and grey literature were searched for full text articles, peer reviewed publications in the English language that were published during January 2019–December 2021. RESEARCH RESULTS: The literature search identified 1294 publications, of which 25 key papers were selected. These studies investigate the impact on children with special needs across the globe, with a majority of papers from Europe. We found that COVID-19 and the digitalization of schooling had severe impacts on the physical and mental health of children with special needs and their parents/caregivers. CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND APPLICABLE VALUE OF RESEARCH: These studies highlight the need for an inclusive school environment to ensure that the learning outcomes for children everywhere are achieved. Further, a hybrid model that includes classroom learning with novel inventive methods would be beneficial for children with special needs.

The post-digital era is characterised by the vast presence of platforms that impose their digital affordances and algorithmic control on our behaviour. This environment is challenging education and training, with implications for digital and transmedial literacy. Investigating instructional methodologies is crucial to fostering critical comprehension of such novel informational environments. Argument maps (AMs), which were first created and evaluated in static information contexts (analogical/old web), could be useful in the emergence of dynamic (post-digital) textual forms. The current paper describes a comprehensive literature review based on the above assumptions. We looked into state-of-the-art research on using AMs to handle dynamic information. We found 150 papers using a PRISMA procedure and then examined 19 of them. Our review produced pertinent data about the current state of AMs, including the types of texts on which they are used and the tools (especially digital and artificial intelligence [AI]-based) that have been employed. Our research lays the groundwork for teaching the literacies needed in new informational settings, such as multimodal, dynamic, algorithmic and data-driven contexts, with a specific focus on AMs as effective mediational tools.

This paper is a poetic self-study based on a community education project in which the author was involved and in which poetry was a process of social transformation. There is a poetic process of weaving between writings produced during the project, occurred years ago, and writings created for this self-study. Its main purpose is to reflect on this poetic process, questioning how it can continue to illuminate our understandings, develop dialogue and transcend contradictions and ambivalences. A few meaningful events are selected where poetry played a relevant part and where poetic writing, combinins sounds and silence to create a singular musicality, is assumed as a way of deepening and transforming understanding and practice. It is a poetic organisation of rhizomatic relations that facilitates the flow of reflexivity and evocation of the movements experienced during the project and identified as important. They are in accordance with the principles of the project, where dialogical and critical approaches are emphasised. In the final sections the author discuss her positionalities and conflicts as researcher, educator and poet assumed along the process, and conclude by reflecting on some of the main contributions of this paper to the poetic self-study field and poetic inquiry.

This study considers TED talks as an effective authentic resource for mastering English. The purpose of the article is to outline a methodology for using TED talks in teaching English for specific purposes (ESP) at the university level. To achieve this goal, we set the following objectives: to introduce and describe the steps of utilizing TED talks, as well as provide examples to each step. We applied a number of methods which helped to fulfil the task of the paper. They include establishing the cognitive and educational value of ESP and its place in the system of university education; defining the tasks and its content of the discipline; developing methodical means and organizational forms of training according to these tasks and content. TED talks are informative presentations delivered by experts in their fields. They provide a great opportunity for language teachers to incorporate authentic listening and speaking tasks in their teaching methods. A welldesigned lesson plan that utilizes TED talks as a teaching tool can benefit ESP students in various ways. The methodology of incorporating TED talks in the teaching process should involve a series of steps that aim to maximize effective learning outcomes. These steps include selecting the theme of the talk, searching the TED talk, delivering the speech, designing pre-listening and post-listening activities. The article presents examples of exercises that can be done at each step with reference to specific TED talks from the site https:// ed.ted.com. The first step ensures that the chosen TED talks are suitable and engaging. Teachers can provide students with choices and allow them to vote. The aim of the second step is to support students’ understanding of the TED talk. The third step develops listening comprehension skills. The fourth step engages and promotes students’ active listening skills. The fifth step helps to develop skills of discourse analysis. The video content that the teacher chooses for the lesson should correspond to the professional interests of students. In such a way this video will be able to increase the motivation to study not only a foreign language but also specialized disciplines. The work with TED talks, however, differs from ordinary academic lectures and presentations. Thus, it requires special training of both the teacher and students. Firstly, students` level of English is an important factor defining the choice of a lecture. The teacher considers the level of listening skills, knowledge of the topic, and terminology. Secondly, it is important to take into account the duration of the presentation. If students are not familiar with the topic, they can have some difficulties with comprehension. Therefore, they will need to listen to the lecture twice. So, the preferable length of the video should be about 5-6 minutes. Incorporating TED talks as a teaching tool in English for Specific Purposes can be a highly effective way of promoting active learning in the classroom. TED talks are a source of authentic and relevant topics for students to engage in while providing a more enjoyable and efficient way of learning. The methodology of using videos from the resource has clear benefits. They include improving comprehension skills, vocabulary acquisition, note-taking, and speaking skills. By following the steps mentioned in this paper, lecturers can deliver enriching, pedagogical sessions that will provide students with a foundation to become successful professionals in their respective fields.

The issue of the relationships between anxiety and aggressiveness among Ukrainian women in war conditions has been dealt with in this article. The relevance of the chosen topic is beyond doubt, since social problems based on psychological factors are especially relevant during the war. It is substantiated that a change in the usual living conditions leads to a significant increase in anxiety and aggressiveness among women. In this paper, the attention is paid specifically to the study of anxiety and manifestation of aggressiveness by women who are in war conditions. It is worth noting that currently in the psychological and social literature, the number of publications about the problem of anxiety is increasing, since anxiety occupies a special place, as it often leads to a decrease in work capacity, productivity, difficulties in communication, etc. It has been found out that the level of anxiety can be manifested in the aggressive women’s behaviour in the war conditions. It is noted that the state of anxiety and aggressiveness is the most common phenomenon among women in war conditions. The results of the analysis and generalization of scientific sources are presented in this paper. It has been identified that the problem of anxiety and aggressiveness is one of the topical issues of modern psychology. The need for timely identification and work with the anxiety, anxious behaviour and aggressiveness of women in war conditions and after military aggression has been emphasized. The analysis of the questionnaire conducted among Ukrainian women in war conditions has been carried out, and the degree of their influence on women’s daily lives and life activities in war time has been determined. The purpose of this work is theoretical substantiation and empirical study of the specific of the relationships between anxiety and the manifestation of aggressive behaviour of Ukrainian women in war conditions. The object of this study is the anxiety of Ukrainian women in war conditions, whereas the subject of this study is the character of the relationship between anxiety and the manifestation of aggressiveness of Ukrainian women in war conditions. The conceptual hypothesis of this research lies in the assumption of the presence of significant relationship between anxiety and the manifestation of aggressiveness of Ukrainian women in war conditions, and it has been fully confirmed. Considering the influence of war conditions on the anxiety and aggressiveness of Ukrainian women, the relationship between the mentioned psychological categories has been claimed. It has been revealed that the state of anxiety can be manifested in the aggressive behaviour of women in war conditions. It is noted that the state of anxiety and aggressiveness is the most common phenomenon among women in war conditions. According to the results of this study, there have been identified those significant relationships between indicators of anxiety and certain forms of aggressiveness among Ukrainian women in war conditions. It is substantiated that the high level of manifestation of anxiety is caused by certain psychological features. It has been found out that the increase in the level of anxiety, indicators of family anxiety and anxious behaviour is associated with an increase in the level of aggressiveness of Ukrainian women. The practical significance lies in the fact that the obtained results can be used by employees of psychological services, practical psychologists during counselling at various stages of psychotherapeutic work with women in war conditions.

This paper identifies key research on the factors that help to explain university dropout and how these factors are being explored by means of artificial intelligence (AI). The study describes the methodology employed to select 31 papers from a repository of 2,745 reported in the literature. The analysis centered on the main AI methods used and four categories of explanatory factors of university dropout: academic factors; factors associated with motivation and study habits; institutional factors; and economic and sociodemographic factors. The conclusion drawn from this literature review is that AI is most commonly used for decision tree-based classification, and most studies focus on predicting university dropout on the basis of explanatory factors.

Classroom deliberations in an inclusive environment is challenging yet rewarding. Teaching students with varied needs under the same roof provides the teachers with the opportunity to bring out their best and to help students to attain an optimum level of learning. The purpose set for this paper is to conduct a rigorous review of inclusive teaching-learning practices across countries to understand and present the best ways of conducting an inclusive classroom. To explore the stated objective the researchers opted for an extensive desk review method to review the available related literature in a systematic manner. As a result of conducting a systematic review analysis, certain themes have emerged under which plausible inclusive practices have been presented as a finding of the research. The study presented five categories of best teaching practices that emerged from the review. This paper presented a concise and accumulated version of the best practices and methods adopted by the practitioners in inclusive education across the world. Amalgamated findings present that using ICT, individualised learning and various classroom management techniques, collaboration and curriculum adaptations provide the best ways to promote inclusion.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of the paper was to discuss a function of passion in professional personal lives of eminent Cracow musicians. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The paper raises the problem of the role of passion in the process of shaping musical eminence, answers the question of the scope of experiencing it as well as it manifesting in activities of outstanding individuals. In conducted research and interpretations, the qualitative perspective and biographical method were applied. The leading technique was problem-concentrated qualitative interview, partially structured, carried out with ten eminent instrumentalists. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The theoretical basis for this reading of the experience of educational biographies was provided by the Model of Authentic Vocation of J. Weller and the Dualistic Model of Passion of A. Bonneville-Roussy, G. Lavigne and R. Vallerand. The interpretations of the research material described the topography of experiencing passion. RESEARCH RESULTS: The article describes autonomous passion associated with musical mastery, instrumental motivation to practice, as well as distinguishes important factors that determine the experience of passion, persistence or burnout (tenacity, ambition, community transfer, conflict of motives, work overload), and concretizes the qualities of musical passion of outstanding musicians: professionalization, love of music, integrity, creativity, strength and determination in pursuit of goals, as well as humility in the face of challenges. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Deciphering the senses and meanings that prominent Cracow musicians attributed to passion suggests that it was autonomous, harmonious and instrumental, motivated by the pursuit of mastery, and that the trajectories of the musicians’ professional biographies were a manifestation of a “professionalization of passion,” which formed the core of their educational experience and constituted and defined their life creed.

Early childhood education corresponds to the first stage of the basic education system, whose purpose permeates the integral development of the child, which requires, among other things, the establishment of a broader and more effective academic debate about this stage. Thus, this study emerges with the objective of mapping the Course Completion Papers (TCCs) of the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) that addressed this theme in the scope of their work. For this, a documentary research was carried out, analyzing the TCCs elaborated by the graduates of the courses offered by the campus of Tocantinópolis. The results indicate that in a universe of 159 papers available in the institution's Repository, only 12 addressed aspects related to Early Childhood Education, including from normative aspects to the pedagogical challenges of daily day care centers and preschools. It is concluded that the academic interest of these graduates is still configured from an incipient character, requiring a greater incentive on the part of the respective courses.

The implementation of digital technologies in teaching has demonstrated the importance of teacher digital competence (TDC) as a key element in educating 21st-century citizens. The complex nature of TDC makes it challenging to find a definition that encompasses the full meaning of the term. This paper offers a systematic literature review based on the PRISMA Statement, analyzing the definitions of TDC in 31 publications with the aim of identifying their similarities and differences and reviewing their relationship with the dimensions that make up TDC. The results show an imbalance in the dimensions present, and notably, an almost universal absence of the relational, ethical and security dimension. The paper concludes by offering an integrative definition of TDC that enables teachers and educational institutions to understand the scope of this professional competence.
