The industrial policy was reintroduced in Brazil in the decade of 2000. At same period the labor productivity (PT) decrease. The paper aims to analyze several economic variables that compose the index of labor productivity, before and after the reintroduction of the industrial policy in order to contribute with the evaluation of the industrial policies adopted in the decade 2000. For this, the paper applies either the technique Shift-Share and calculations which measures the dynamics of industrial production. For this, it was used variables which came from Pesquisa Anual Industrial (IBGE). As a result, two economic structures related to the industrial policy and the performance of the Brazilian manufacturing industry emerged from 1996 to 2012. In one of them, the oscillation of the value of industrial production grew less than the oscillation of the industrial cost in manner enough way to that the variation of the Industrial Transformation Value to be lower than the Occupied Personnel (OP). This led, therefore, to the fall of PT. In the second, the value of industrial production grew more than the industrial cost. Because of this, the variation of the Value of Industrial Transformation exceeded the variation of the OP. In this situation, PT grew. In addition, the results of paper may contribute with the methods new which search evaluate the industrial policy, since it either scrutinized several variables harmonized and was analyzed of a productivity index.
