Green products are highly demanded by the global population due to the fast depletion of world resources and high energy intensity use. However, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) still appear to lack knowledge in environment monitoring and improvement including the SMEs in Malaysia. For example, the implementation of a green innovation into products in SMEs is still relatively young and limited. This paper underlines the operational upgrade necessity to companies is needed in long run in the adoption of green product innovation. In addition, this paper analyses the issue, challenges, and significant characteristics of green environmental management practice in Malaysian SMEs. The related articles from secondary sources were carefully selected and analysed from reliable journal publishers. A total number of 26 paper that highly related to Malaysia SMEs cases, ranged from 2017 to 2021 were reviewed thoroughly. The major finding of this research paper has been related to the problems and barriers that faced by Malaysian SMEs. Research and development (R & D) are typically lacking in SMEs, as are economies of scale and the inability to change established operating practices. Many SMEs do not pay enough attention to improving the skills and knowledge of their employees, or they are unwilling to take advantage of government-sponsored training programs, which are designed to do just that. The results of this paper highlight the Malaysian SMEs challenges and possible changes to be done in assisting the SMEs to accomplish their sustainability goals through green product innovation change. Precast concrete is one of Industrialized Building System (IBS) types that is mainly used in Malaysia. Even though precast shows promising performance in ongoing project but in building maintenance, precast shows otherwise. This is due to the usage of the conventional method (paper-based report/unsystematic data of maintenance which is Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and by integrating it with BIM technology will help in enhance maintenance. BIM shows its benefits through maintenance by showing its coordination in design and three-dimensional visualization. This paper help into identifying the requirement of integrating CMMS and BIM technology in precast building maintenance. An interview was conducted to gain the objective of the study. Results showed that there are two requirements to support CMMS and BIM integration in maintenance management which is a complete and organize data and a compilation of a standard requirement that stated by the department (e.g., Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, Syarikat Air Selangor and JKR). This resulted in the creation of a crucial aspect of the maintenance management system that uses emerging technology to aid engineers at precast building in improving their present maintenance management practices. The Coronavirus Disease 2021 or COVID-19 has affected almost all individuals around the globe. Consequently, Malaysia is one of the nations that has been facing tremendous changes in various sectors due to COVID-19. As the number of positive cases is on the rise, the Malaysian government has executed its National COVID-19 Immunization Program to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and the severity of disease in case a vaccinated person is infected. However, there are also individuals who have contributed to vaccine refusal due to many factors including misinformation about vaccines, religious beliefs, lack of knowledge, and awareness. Therefore, this paper presents a combination of instructional design and cognitive load theory named CoLoMo model, to increase the awareness of COVID-19 among parents. The CoLoMo model is a theory for mobile application development involving three elements in mobile instruction design which include platform, design, accessibility, and design page. These elements have been chosen prior to the target users which are parents or adults. The three cognitive load theory types in this model are intrinsic, extraneous, and germane cognitive load. The combination of the mobile interaction design and cognitive load theory types will affect the user's cognitive performance which are concentration, learning capabilities and attributes. This paper also discusses the previous research on the implementation of cognitive load theory through mobile applications. In line with the development of Industry 4.0 which takes place in almost every country in world. Malaysia also not left behind in adapting this transformation which initially has been outlined in Industry 4.0 Blueprint in the year of 2018. Then continued to that, Construction 4.0 eventually introduces in 2021 where it become as strategic plan for construction industry to gear up for 4th Industrial Revolution. As a part of construction professional in construction industry, Quantity Surveyors (QS) also being affected with this transformation and changes is needed in their roles and practices. The focus of this paper is to identify the emerging technologies in Construction 4.0 which have been currently adapted in Quantity Surveying practices. The data were collected using quantitative method via questionnaires survey among Quantity Surveyors in Malaysia. Based on the data obtained, emerging technologies in Construction 4.0 have been divided into 3 technology cluster. Ideally, Cluster 1 (Simulation and Modelling) and Cluster 2 (Digitalization and Virtualization) are slowly being adapted in Quantity Surveying practices meanwhile Cluster 3 (Smart Factory) are less being demanded and adapted in QS profession. Due to that, the result proven that Quantity Surveyors are currently taking their steps and grows towards adapting Industry 4.0 waves in their profession. Malaysia has achieved remarkable progress in the metal smelting operation. There is a revolution on the horizon in the metal industry with advanced technologies and expected to grow in the future. Non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, zinc, tin, and copper were significant due to desirable properties such as low weight despite their higher cost when compared to ferrous metals. All of these advances had a significant impact on the price, quality, and variety of products produced and have changed the industry's basic structure. This paper provides a brief overview of recent developments in Malaysia's non-ferrous metal smelting operations. This will include a historical overview of non-ferrous metal smelting in Malaysia, technological advancements in non-ferrous metal smelting, environmental and safety concerns associated with non-ferrous metal smelting, and Malaysia's and the world's future direction in metal smelting. In this paper we empirically test the factors which affect investors' intention to adopt robo-advisory services in Malaysia. Multiple regression method is used. We found significant relationship between transparency, relative advantage, social influence, and perceived usefulness and the intention to adopt of robo-advisory services in Malaysia. However, there is no significant relationship between effort expectancy and intention to adopt robo-advisory services in Malaysia. Our results are consistent with previous similar research which showed a positive relationship between social influence and relative advantage with the intention to adopt of new technologies. In addition, our results could provide some insights into the robo-advisory services' market in Malaysia in order to further understand what encourages Malaysian investors' intention to adopt this new technology as well as how this technology can be adjusted to improve the adoption rate among Malaysian investors. Building Information Modelling (BIM) or also known as "disruptive technology" is an emerging technology tool utilized in a construction project to integrate and enhance collaboration and productivity among diverse organisations in a whole project cycle. Currently in Malaysia, BIM can be trusted as one of the approaches to drive the Construction 4.0 Strategic Plan and complement the thrust productivity of the Construction Industry Transformation Programme (CITP) towards achieving the Shared Prosperity Vision (SPV) 2030 in.order to elevate the involvement of the national construction industry with emerging technologies through collaborations within the industry players and stakeholders. However, Malaysia's construction industry has a slower adaption of BIM implementation where the acceptance of BIM is still not wide ranging and fully adopted among the construction players. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to identify the current existing practices towards BIM implementation and determine the readiness criteria of BIM implementation in order to develop the conceptual framework of readiness for BIM implementation among construction organisations for Pulau Pinang case study. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted to identify and review a set of attributes for the current existing practices and readiness criteria for BIM implementation among construction organisation in the project. Subsequently, a set of questionnaire survey was designed and distributed among 36 respondents consists of construction organisations players from four (4) selected of case study projects. The data collected was analyzed using ranking analysis based on mean and standard deviation values. The results reveled that most of respondents emphasized that in the current existing practices for BIM implementation in the BIM projects are influenced by the main attributes including people, management, process and application of technology. Meanwhile, the main readiness criteria for implementing BIM among organisations can be classified into four main components which comprised of key attributes as follows: (1) management, (2) process, (3) technology and (4) people. All of these components and key attributes have been ranked according to their priority based on results of mean values. Finally, all the findings are consolidated to develop a conceptual framework of readiness for BIM implementation among construction organisations practice. This proposed conceptual framework can be adopted by all construction players and the government sector as an additional reference to enhance the effectiveness of the existing guidelines provided before ensuring towards better project quality and performance of construction project. The role of design and innovation through NPD process can be a good platform for Malaysian SMEs to enhance their competitiveness. However, less study has been conducted to examine how the process has been implemented by SMEs. NPD process requires a proper planning and commitment from the company. Managing the NPD process by utilized design as a source of innovation will improve the quality of the product. But, many of the SMEs not utilize the potential of design and innovation as their sources to gain competitiveness. Therefore, there are gaps on how the process has been conducted by SMEs such as how they implementing, managing and who are the parties should be involved in the process. The objective of this paper is to explore the process of new product development conducted by small and medium manufacturing industries (SMEs) through design and innovation in creating added value to a product, based on an empirical study covering product, furniture, and automotive manufacturing industries in Malaysia. A mixed-method was applied consist of 450 respondents for questionnaire survey and 12 selected participants from different group's namely industrial designers, marketers, and decision-makers. The results reveal the positive effects of managing design and innovations in the industries are important to improve product value and to enhance company performance through product development processes. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) research techniques and results are fundamental to the development of industrial innovation. Given the increasingly profound connection between innovation, science, and mathematical sciences, it is natural to inquire whether the interface between these three activities is functioning in an optimal way via STEM teachings and researches. We believe that these STEM teachings and researches are somewhat strengthened and essentially driven by industrial mathematics. However, due to the nature of industrial mathematics as an enabling technology for the new industry, its contribution is rarely visible in the final product that industry delivers. This paper will present the current scenario of this interface in Malaysia and to suggest mechanisms for intensifying the connection between industrial mathematics and industry. In particular we explore the degree of rapport between academia and industry, the contemporary trends in teachings and researches in the industrial mathematics, and to share the world wide experiences of the mutually beneficial relationship between industrial mathematicians and related STEM researchers in academia and industry. The role of national metrology institute (NMI) has always been very crucial in national technology development. One of the key activities of the NMI is to provide traceable measurement in all parameters under the International System of Units (SI). Dimensional measurement where size and shape are two important features investigated, is one of the important area covered by NMIs. To support the national technology development, particularly in manufacturing sectors and emerging technology such nanotechnology, the National Metrology Laboratory, SIRIM Berhad (NML-SIRIM), has embarked on a project to equip Malaysia with state-of-the-art nanoscale measurement facility with the aims of providing traceability of measurement at nanoscale. This paper will look into some of the results from current activities at NML-SIRIM related to measurement at nanoscale particularly on application of atomic force microscope (AFM) and laser based sensor in dimensional measurement. Step height standards of different sizes were measured using AFM and laser-based sensors. These probes are integrated into a long-range nanoscale measuring machine traceable to the international definition of the meter thus ensuring their traceability. Consistency of results obtained by these two methods will be discussed and presented. Factors affecting their measurements as well as their related uncertainty of measurements will also be presented. With the growth of technology, many devices and equipments can be connected to the network and internet to enable online data acquisition for real-time data monitoring and control from monitoring devices located at remote sites. Centralized radiation monitoring system (CRMS) is a system that enables area radiation level at various locations in Malaysian Nuclear Agency (Nuklear Malaysia) to be monitored centrally by using a web browser. The Local Area Network (LAN) in Nuclear Malaysia is utilized in CRMS as a communication media for data acquisition of the area radiation levels from radiation detectors. The development of the system involves device configuration, wiring, network and hardware installation, software and web development. This paper describes the software upgrading on the system server that is responsible to acquire and record the area radiation readings from the detectors. The recorded readings are called in a web programming to be displayed on a website. Besides the main feature which is acquiring the area radiation levels in Nuclear Malaysia centrally, the upgrading involves new features such as uniform time interval for data recording and exporting, warning system and dose triggering. A questionnaire is a vital research instrument consisting of a series of questions for the purpose of gathering information from respondents. Most psychological research required an instrument that shall be valid and reliable to investigate that particular study's intended variables. Eventually, such an instrument that fits the study is very rare. So, a need was felt to develop a suitable and reliable tool for the same purpose. To develop an instrument for measuring variables, i.e., Integrated Management System and Innovation Performance, and to test its reliability and validity. A draft of the 59-item scale was developed, which comprises 14 items in the demographics section and 45 measurement items. The tool's content validity was established by accepting items that range in between 75% to 90% of the validity index for each item. To test the instrument's reliability, a pilot study was conducted where the instrument is applied to 30 respondents representing 30 different organisations involved in building construction. The instrument passes the content validity with an index of.78 while it has no significant face validity issues. Statistical analyses showed excellent internal consistency by Cronbach's alpha which all variables are above 0.8. The instrument has acceptable properties (i.e., valid and reliable) and is suitable for measuring the intended variables, i.e., IMS and IP. Innovation is among the most frequently used word in the business world today. While many businessman and executives agree that innovation is needed to sustain their long term business success, many struggle to understand the concept of innovation. This study aims to measure the understanding level of innovation among the Malaysian executives using a survey questionnaire. Questions regarding innovation were posted to the respondents and they were requested to answer either it was True or False. Each respondent was given scores for their correct answers. The score of the right answers were then categorized into low, moderate and high understanding level. Results of the survey revealed that the understanding level of innovation among the Malaysian Executives is still at moderate level thus leading to the failure of many initiatives introduced by the organization or the government. This study aims to identify the determinants of technological innovation capability of Malaysian-owned companies in the resources-based manufacturing, to identify the relationship between technological innovation capability (TIC) and technological innovation performance (TIP) for the resource-based manufacturing. Furthermore, this study also aims to identify innovation capability factors that need more emphasis and improvements from the respective authority. The scope of the study covers four industries which are petrochemical industries, pharmaceutical industries, palm oil-based industries and food processing industries which are located in the state of Selangor. Descriptive analysis, correlation analysis and performance capability analysis were used in this study. It was found that, technological innovation capabilities (TIC) for companies in the resource-based manufacturing are moderate. Factors such as policies capability, human resources capability and facilities capability have a positive relationship with the performance of technological innovation (TIP). These findings will help the government in making decisions and better implementation of policies to strengthen the competitiveness of the company, particularly in resource-based manufacturing.
