Abstract
- Malaysia has achieved remarkable progress in the metal smelting operation. There is a revolution on the horizon in the metal industry with advanced technologies and expected to grow in the future. Non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, zinc, tin, and copper were significant due to desirable properties such as low weight despite their higher cost when compared to ferrous metals. All of these advances had a significant impact on the price, quality, and variety of products produced and have changed the industry's basic structure. This paper provides a brief overview of recent developments in Malaysia's non-ferrous metal smelting operations. This will include a historical overview of non-ferrous metal smelting in Malaysia, technological advancements in non-ferrous metal smelting, environmental and safety concerns associated with non-ferrous metal smelting, and Malaysia's and the world's future direction in metal smelting.
