The International Conference on Smart Grid & Electric Vehicle (ICSGEV2023) was held in April 2023 in hybrid mode, organized by the Department of EEE at Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK and the University of Leeds, UK. The conference featured various sessions, keynote speeches, and paper presentations on topics related to smart grid and electric vehicle technologies. Over 137 papers were received, with 110 accepted for presentation and publication in the AIP conference proceedings. In the context of low carbon emissions, new energy vehicles powered by battery technology are rapidly emerging as the dominant driving force, replacing traditional fossil fuel vehicles at an astonishing pace. To comprehensively understand the current development and trends of automotive battery technology, this paper analyzes the application status of power batteries in new energy vehicles. Furthermore, it conducts a performance study on the three mainstream chemical batteries—lead-acid batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, and lithium-ion batteries. Simultaneously, this paper delves into a discussion on the three major challenges encountered while developing new energy vehicles—battery safety, range anxiety, and charging speed. Ultimately, it identifies significant growth potential and market applications for lithium-ion batteries. Blockchain technology is one of the most sensational and under rated technology in current technological and financial sector. The great wave in blockchain technology for the banking sector is still unexplored to its depth, as the need for new technology in all the areas of life is a necessity nowadays. The study was conducted to identify different services that the financial sector can provide to its customer by accepting a unified blockchain technology. The fundamental inkling of blockchain technology is, its public and the same is shared in a tamperproof ledger which allows the heterogenous community to share the sensitive data over a distributed ledger. This paper gives an idea about how this tamperproof technology can be used to increase the efficiency, transparency and to lower the risk and expenditure associated with the highly sophisticated data of an individual in relation to banking sector. Precast concrete is one of Industrialized Building System (IBS) types that is mainly used in Malaysia. Even though precast shows promising performance in ongoing project but in building maintenance, precast shows otherwise. This is due to the usage of the conventional method (paper-based report/unsystematic data of maintenance which is Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and by integrating it with BIM technology will help in enhance maintenance. BIM shows its benefits through maintenance by showing its coordination in design and three-dimensional visualization. This paper help into identifying the requirement of integrating CMMS and BIM technology in precast building maintenance. An interview was conducted to gain the objective of the study. Results showed that there are two requirements to support CMMS and BIM integration in maintenance management which is a complete and organize data and a compilation of a standard requirement that stated by the department (e.g., Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, Syarikat Air Selangor and JKR). This resulted in the creation of a crucial aspect of the maintenance management system that uses emerging technology to aid engineers at precast building in improving their present maintenance management practices. The Coronavirus Disease 2021 or COVID-19 has affected almost all individuals around the globe. Consequently, Malaysia is one of the nations that has been facing tremendous changes in various sectors due to COVID-19. As the number of positive cases is on the rise, the Malaysian government has executed its National COVID-19 Immunization Program to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and the severity of disease in case a vaccinated person is infected. However, there are also individuals who have contributed to vaccine refusal due to many factors including misinformation about vaccines, religious beliefs, lack of knowledge, and awareness. Therefore, this paper presents a combination of instructional design and cognitive load theory named CoLoMo model, to increase the awareness of COVID-19 among parents. The CoLoMo model is a theory for mobile application development involving three elements in mobile instruction design which include platform, design, accessibility, and design page. These elements have been chosen prior to the target users which are parents or adults. The three cognitive load theory types in this model are intrinsic, extraneous, and germane cognitive load. The combination of the mobile interaction design and cognitive load theory types will affect the user's cognitive performance which are concentration, learning capabilities and attributes. This paper also discusses the previous research on the implementation of cognitive load theory through mobile applications. Artificial intelligence (AI) with mathematical modelling is one of the most metaphoric technologies in modern history. It helps businesses around the world, improving efficiency and optimizing resources especially in supply chain management (SCM) and logistics sector. AI has also made its way into supply chains and logistics, where it provides several advantages to businesses that are prepared to accept new technology. The review refers to the previous research papers with keywords of AI, supply chain, logistics are sorted from five recent years and aims to comprehensively review types of technologies used by optimizing the strategies and the implementation of AI methods highlight several challenges faced by AI to be deployed in this sector. The soft computing extracted in this paper mainly uses AI and fuzzy logic for problem giving and enhances the efficiency of SCM. However, there are challenges that are encountered by AI to predict and drive the decision making with minimum complications. Several challenges addressed in this paper are resources, lack of security especially in RFID systems and the complexity found in robotics systems in logistics. The importance of innovation production is indubitable with majority of businesses considering it. However, enterprises face challenges in adapting innovation processes to current conditions. Currently, enterprises encounter an inclusive economy which focuses on achieving engagement, growth, sustainability, stability, and equal opportunities, contributing to strengthening total well-being. Accordingly, while developing innovations, enterprises must consider the principles of an inclusive economy. The research aims at studying innovation problems in an inclusive economy based on bibliometric and visualization analysis. A bibliometric analysis is supplemented by a visualization analysis to make a graphical presentation. Data from two databases were used for a bibliometric analysis: those of Scopus and the Web of Science. Summarized and tested with Endnote publications were investigated in BibExcel. Additionally, 19 publications were highlighted as they are simultaneously recorded in two databases simultaneously. The results of the study were supported by a visualization map using Pajek. The 185 published papers were studied to achieve the purpose of this research. The provided analysis helped to achieve some valuable insights. First, the investigated problem is relatively new. Publication activity started to grow in 2014 reaching its peak in 2021. Second, the investigated problem turns out to be global as it was studied by the scholars from Europe, Asia, and North and South America. In addition, there is strong cooperation among scientists from different countries with different affiliations. Nevertheless, authors from South Africa show leading positions. Third, there are connections among authors who form scientific clusters and perform co-authorships. Fourth, three of the most frequently used words in paper titles and three of the most frequent keywords are equal. They are 'inclusive', 'development', and 'innovation'. Fifth, 19 publications demonstrate a high level of co-occurrence. Technological advancements in the domain of computer graphics have enhanced the visual realism in video games, movies, and various forms of media. This comprises of realistic visual presentation, best rendering mechanisms, improved textures, naturalistic light effects etc. This paper focus on frame rate monitoring integrated with dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) technique to reduce power consumption on rendering pipeline mainly the vertex and pixel shaders during 3D scene render process. To understand shader power analysis, power consumption on GPU is investigated initially at runtime to set rendering configuration by limiting framerates of rendered scene and generates dynamic power-aware rendering framework by analyzing the workload on frames. In the implementation, optimized power on GPU is attained with the combination of three major mechanisms: the TensorFlow tools and libraries, the Graphics Rendering Parameter Control mechanism and the Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Control mechanism. Initially the range of framerates are set in-between 30 fps and 60 fps to consider the state as graphics rendering parameter control mechanism. Based on workload of each frame, if current frame rate is greater than range of 60 fps then GPU frequency is reduced and if lesser than 30 fps then frequency is increased using DVFS mechanism. So that optimal power settings are achieved, avoiding unnecessary power wastage on GPU. Parallelly TensorFlow libraries boost computational speed improving time and memory frequencies. Results show efficient render of 3D scene with power savings around 35% and decreased computational complexity. The results obtained through the proposed methodology forms the basis for performance and power consumption analysis of various other stages of graphics rendering pipeline. The Space Air Ground Integrated Network (SAGIN) has attracted significant attention due to its extensive research scope. This study explores a novel SAGIN architecture to meet the evolving demands of the sixth-generation (6G) mobile communication network, offering flexibility and low latency. As the world is moving towards technological advancement and industrial revolution, the need for eco-friendly and portable energy sources for various applications is and will going to increase. We are surrounded by so many gadgets to run our daily life smoothly. Li-ion battery stood out as the most reliable and suitable device for storing energy so far which have applications from small scale to bigger applications like electric vehicles. Highest theoretical capacity of 3860 mAhg−1 for Li metal anodes, lightweight, high energy density and many other parameters makes it attractive choice for the applications whereas it shows the lowest electrochemical potential of −3.04V versus standard hydrogen electrode (SHE). Researchers are trying the alternate materials for cathode and anode where different structural cathode materials are being tested and various anode chemistries have been tried. Silicon anode has the potential to replace the regular graphite anode-material as it has 10 times the specific capacity as compare to graphite. This paper reviews the anode materials which are currently under research to enhance the characteristics of Li-ion battery in comparison with the currently commercialized graphite anode (372 mAhg−1) that how structural and morphological modification can change the properties like cycle life, shelf life, specific capacity, charge rate and stability of the materials. Power delivering capabilities and the number of loads connected to the power supplies are increased due to the development of new devices through technological advancement. Many industrial and domestic applications require a power converter which has the ability and functionality to convert the single input voltage level to multiple output voltage levels, so that it can drive many DC loads like Laptops, Switched Mode Power Supplies, DC Drives, accessories in electric vehicle (EV), This paper proposes one such power converter namely non-isolated boost converter, which has a single input (12V) and two outputs (48V and 24V). It uses only two switches for two outputs thereby reducing the component count and hence the cost of the converter is reduced. Current Mode Control (CMC) Scheme employed here uses two Proportional Integral (PI) controllers such as outer voltage controller and inner current controller respectively. Closed loop simulation is carried out using Matlab/Simulink software tool. Technological innovation such as robotics assisted with artificial intelligence has taken industry to its fourth revolution. The aim of the project described in the paper is to use this as a boon and take a step-forward towards advancement. The objective of this project is to design and create a pick and place mobile robot with 5 degrees of freedom. The robotic arm is 3D printed with ecofriendly and biocompatible PLA (Polylactic Acid) material. Since the inception of the automobile industry, the incremental improvements in the Internal Combustion Engines have been observed. The IC Engine run vehicles are bulky, have many components and create air pollution, which is a major issue throughout the world. Now a day's technological advancement in the field of electric vehicle provides solution to every problem in a much more efficient way. This paper describes the design and optimization of the electric motorcycle chassis. In this work, optimization of chassis frame has been carried out to reduce the battery changing time. Air flow over chassis is used for cooling the batteries by forced convection. Proposed chassis design is validated using the results of structural and computational fluid dynamic analysis study. The optimized proposed model has achieved 40% of weight reduction of the electric motorcycle chassis. Technological advancement makes human life more manageable in different aspects, and several variants are available to provide the same. Wireless communication helps to transfer information or data from one place to another without any physical connection between devices. The application includes mobile communication, remote access, satellite transmission, vehicle communication, broadcasting, etc. There are two categories of wireless communication: infrastructure-less networks and infrastructure networks. Any network where nodes connect without the need of infrastructure is called a mobile ad hoc network. Because of features like changeable topology, rapid setup, multi-hop data transmission, and others, MANETs have become more and more common. Due to their distinctive features, MANETs are ideally suited to several real-time applications, such as calamity control, environmental monitoring, and military activities. To assist in actualizing the vision of Industry 4.0, MANETs may also be employed with innovative technologies including cloud computing, machine learning, and the Internet of Things, etc. Any MANET-based critical real-time applications require reliable and secure data delivery. Hence, this study explores several security approaches that advance safe transmission while enhancing MANET performance. Healthcare is a service that provides healthcare services to patients with blockchain technology. Blockchain technology is an emerging technology that enables for the communication between patients and medical experts to take place over the internet. This is done by collecting the data from a wide variety of IoT devices, and this information may then be transmitted over fog and edge computing gateways. The data were collected using quantitative method via questionnaires survey among Quantity Surveyors in Malaysia. Based on the data obtained, emerging technologies in Construction 4.0 have been divided into 3 technology cluster. Ideally, Cluster 1 (Simulation and Modelling) and Cluster 2 (Digitalization and Virtualization) are slowly being adapted in Quantity Surveying practices meanwhile Cluster 3 (Smart Factory) are less being demanded and adapted in QS profession. Gas turbines are essential devices used in nearly all fields, especially power generation. However, they are monitored without a man on duty in most cases. With technological advancement, the gas turbines can now be monitored remotely with the help of digital twin technology. However, an interface is required so that the monitoring process can be performed easily and is suitable for the various user backgrounds. The paper introduces a Graphical User Interface (GUI) using the 'Appdesigner' feature in MATLAB software to simulate the actual scenario or environment of monitoring the gas turbine for the digital twin application. The GUI is designed in an aspect that it can obtain input from an excel file or the existing data in MATLAB. The methodology consists of two steps which include design view and code view. The GUI application allows the user to load the input data, display the values and plot several output parameters such as fuel flow, turbine temperature, power, and speed. The output values are generated through Simulink, a solver used for modeling and simulating dynamic systems in MATLAB. The model is made compact and user-friendly by masking all the subsystems. The results displayed on the GUI were compared with the outputs from Simulink for validation. It shows that the call function on the interface works well and is accurate as the plot obtained was identical. With new technology, the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) has evolved into Data-Driven Intelligent Transport System (DDITS) and further to the Internet of Vehicles (IOV) during the last few decades. Vehicular Ad-hoc networks (VANETs), a hierarchy of Mobile Ad-hoc networks (MANETs), are usually deployed in smart ITS in urban, highway, and rural scenarios. VANET facilitates vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication with massive exchanges of safety and non-safety messages to other vehicles. Moreover, it achieves low latency in an open-access environment without requiring fixed infrastructure or centralized administration, improving ride quality, safety, comfort, and efficiency issues in road traffic. However, open wireless communication channels make these messages vulnerable to attackers to intercept, tamper, replay, and eradicate them. Owing to technological advancements, the metaverse has garnered tremendous interest from individuals worldwide in recent years. In contrast, the development of the metaverse is still in its infancy, and there is a considerable possibility for improvement. This study sought to identify various bibliometric trends of the metaverse. In this study, we used data to assess the number of metaverse papers published over the past two decades. The dataset was obtained from Scopus. Using the Scopus database, 303 articles were published in 196 journals and 107 conferences, with an average of 1.63 publications each year by 839 authors. John David N. Dionisio, William G. Burns, and Richard Gilbert's research, published in Volume 45 of the ACM Computing Surveys in 2013, provided the most significant contributions. In metaverse research, China and Korea appear to be one step ahead of Asian and European nations, including the United States. China collaborates extensively with South Korea, whereas Japan collaborates closely with the United States. Emerging technologies in smart wearables hold great potential to enhance people's day-to-day health by facilitating self-monitoring of physical activities. The research with these devices is in its early stages. In this research paper, using the expectation-confirmation theory (ECT), along with conformity, performance expectancy, and satisfaction, we investigated the factors that influence the intention to use continuously. Based on a sample of 678 smart wearable users, collected from Northern India, we have used structural equation modelling (Smart PLS4) and identified the impact of satisfaction post adoption technology, Habit to wear, data privacy and health information accuracy on the continuing intention of smart-wearable users. According to the findings, consumer satisfaction, health information accuracy, and data privacy are key variables that have a significant influence on the long-term intention to use smart wearables. Wirelessly tracking a patient's wellbeing is a new technology that is gaining traction. As new technical, organizational, and economical opportunities emerge, industrial companies trying to profit from them and successfully achieve their intended strategical goals. Industry 4.0 diffusion includes a set of factors that can significantly improve the processes of production and business. However, there are considerable challenges to achieving this goal of continuous improvement. Industrial companies need to redesign their operations fundamentally, to develop high value-added products and services to pay off investments in innovations, technologies, equipment, and staff development. In order to maintain a high pace of the development and desire to compete better in the markets of higher value-added product, Lithuanian companies needs to speed up the absorption and usage of technological drivers of Industry 4.0. The aim of this paper is to make analysis of the enabling technologies of Industry 4.0 that are already taking place and which will be strengthened or introduced in Lithuanian industrial companies, to identify the factors that most influence this process and to propose measures to accelerate it. The methods used to achieve this aim were a study of scientific literature and other information sources, questionnaire survey of the employees from Lithuanian industrial companies, and analysis of the received data. After examining the situation in the surveyed Lithuanian industrial companies, it was highlighted the fragmentation of the manifestation of the enabling technologies of Industry 4.0, when companies concentrate only on certain activities. For acceleration of the development of Industry 4.0 in Lithuanian companies, it is worth to pay more attention to the selection of Industry 4.0 enabling technologies to be developed, to the assessment of situation related to the business plan implementation risk, factors, drivers, technological equipment, tools, software, specific knowledge, and skills. In this paper we empirically test the factors which affect investors' intention to adopt robo-advisory services in Malaysia. Multiple regression method is used. We found significant relationship between transparency, relative advantage, social influence, and perceived usefulness and the intention to adopt of robo-advisory services in Malaysia. However, there is no significant relationship between effort expectancy and intention to adopt robo-advisory services in Malaysia. Our results are consistent with previous similar research which showed a positive relationship between social influence and relative advantage with the intention to adopt of new technologies. In addition, our results could provide some insights into the robo-advisory services' market in Malaysia in order to further understand what encourages Malaysian investors' intention to adopt this new technology as well as how this technology can be adjusted to improve the adoption rate among Malaysian investors. Monobath or single step film developing formulations had existed in tandem with photography itself but gradually abandoned to the rapid user transition into color photography. The rapid commercialization & technological advancement of the latter drives the monobath technique into stagnation. In the past decade, the resurgence of film photography had driven back the interest in monobath development prompting a few monobath products to be commercially available. Most of the commercial developing chemical's usage were calibrated towards the characteristic curves published by film manufacturers. However, these monobaths are without reference to the characteristic curves in comparison with other standard commercial developers. To justify the feasibility of this formulation, we must therefore construct the required characteristic curves, albeit qualitatively. Utilizing basic optical densitometry method, qualitative analysis was conducted toward a comparative study of multiple commercial black & white photographic film stocks. This study suggests ways in which to utilize the trend in characteristic curves to provide a preliminary assessment of monobath developer over several commercial photographic film stocks. All film emulsion tested have lower quality negatives results compared to conservative developers, but KODAK & Ilford shows usable results for normal photography uses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
