Background In the current era of rapid technological innovation, our lives are becoming more closely intertwined with digital systems. Consequently, every human action generates a valuable repository of digital data. In this context, data-driven architectures are pivotal for organizing, manipulating, and presenting data to facilitate positive computing through ensemble machine learning models. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic underscored a substantial need for a flexible mental health care architecture. This architecture, inclusive of machine learning predictive models, has the potential to benefit a larger population by identifying individuals at a heightened risk of developing various mental disorders. Objective Therefore, this research aims to create a flexible mental health care architecture that leverages data-driven methodologies and ensemble machine learning models. The objective is to proficiently structure, process, and present data for positive computing. The adaptive data-driven architecture facilitates customized interventions for diverse mental disorders, fostering positive computing. Consequently, improved mental health care outcomes and enhanced accessibility for individuals with varied mental health conditions are anticipated. Method Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines, the researchers conducted a systematic literature review in databases indexed in Web of Science to identify the existing strengths and limitations of software architecture relevant to our adaptive design. The systematic review was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42023444661). Additionally, a mapping process was employed to derive essential paradigms serving as the foundation for the research architectural design. To validate the architecture based on its features, professional experts utilized a Likert scale. Results Through the review, the authors identified six fundamental paradigms crucial for designing architecture. Leveraging these paradigms, the authors crafted an adaptive data-driven architecture, subsequently validated by professional experts. The validation resulted in a mean score exceeding four for each evaluated feature, confirming the architecture’s effectiveness. To further assess the architecture’s practical application, a prototype architecture for predicting pandemic anxiety was developed.

Since the first nationwide movement control order was implemented on 18 March 2020 in Malaysia to contain the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, to what extent the uncertainty and continuous containment measures have imposed psychological burdens on the population is unknown. This study aimed to measure the level of mental health of the Malaysian public approximately 2 months after the pandemic's onset. Between 12 May and 5 September 2020, an anonymous online survey was conducted. The target group included all members of the Malaysian population aged 18 years and above. The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21) was used to assess mental health. There were increased depressive, anxiety and stress symptoms throughout the study period, with the depression rates showing the greatest increase. During the end of the data collection period (4 August-5 September 2020), there were high percentages of reported depressive (59.2%) and anxiety (55.1%) symptoms compared with stress (30.6%) symptoms. Perceived health status was the strongest significant predictor for depressive and anxiety symptoms. Individuals with a poorer health perception had higher odds of developing depression (odds ratio [OR] = 5.68; 95% confidence interval [CI] 3.81-8.47) and anxiety (OR = 3.50; 95%CI 2.37-5.17) compared with those with a higher health perception. By demographics, young people-particularly students, females and people with poor financial conditions-were more vulnerable to mental health symptoms. These findings provide an urgent call for increased attention to detect and provide intervention strategies to combat the increasing rate of mental health problems in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Perceived fairness in pay system has two critical features, namely procedural fairness and distributive fairness. Recent studies have shown that the capability of employers to propose and administer pay systems appropriately, including allocating pay and determining the value of pay in a fair manner, has a positive association with employees’ work-related attitude. Although this association has been well-researched, the role of perceived fairness as a vital predicting variable of work-related attitude, particularly towards job satisfaction and organizational commitment, has still not been thoroughly deliberated. Hence, this study fills this gap. Self-report survey questionnaires were collected from the employees of a public audit agency in Peninsular Malaysia. Smart PLS software was utilized to assess the quality of the research instrument and test the research hypotheses. The results of hypothesis testing confirm that perceived procedural fairness and distributive fairness in managing the pay system, are important determinants of job satisfaction and organizational commitment in the examined organization. Additionally, this study offers useful guidelines for practitioners to improve the pay management system and proposes future studies.

Introduction: Malaysia is a multiethnic country that allows freedom of religion with Islam being the most professed religion. Under the Islamic teachings, premarital sex is forbidden. Nonetheless, at present, there is an increasing number of teenage pregnancies among the Malay Muslims as a consequence of premarital sex. The objective was to obtain a detailed understanding of how pregnant teenagers make sense of their experience with unwanted pregnancy from a psycho-emotional perspective. Methods: Purposive sampling through the application of Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was employed. Face to face interviews were conducted with 10 participants that were 17 years old. Results: Three themes emerged from the present research (a) transformation of self, (b) transition to motherhood and; (c) spiritual strengthening. Career guidance and counselling and its numerous services are meant to address issues bordering on career development, social changes and challenges. One of the modern challenges and threats to effective functioning, productivity and efficient service delivery in organizations is rapid changes in the 21st century, which needs to be addressed headlong. By addressing the duo problem of organizational development and the human aspect of organization, career administration considers as expedient, having proactive individuals who assist in moving the organization forward. Proactive personality professionals achieve several desirable individual and organizational outcomes: objective career success, career satisfaction, job performance and organizational citizenship behavior, job satisfaction, affective commitment, taking charge and voice behavior which often are the central concern of every organization. This study examines the relationship between the career administration and proactive behavior. Self-report questionnaires are utilized to collect data from employees working at an oil and gas firm in West Malaysia. The results of SPSS program presented two essential outcomes: first, job autonomy was significantly correlated with proactive behaviour. Second, transformational leadership was significantly correlated with proactive behavior. This result demonstrates that career administration does act as an important determinant of proactive behavior in the studied organization. Research Aims: This study examined the relationship between leaders' support and trainees' learning outcomes and the relationship between leaders' support, trainees' motivation for learning, and trainees' motivation for using on-job training. Design/Methodology/Approach: A cross-sectional research design was employed to collect 226 self-report questionnaires from employees at military healthcare organisations in Peninsular Malaysia. The SmartPLS was used to assess the quality of the measurement model and test the structural model. Research Findings: This study confirmed that trainees' motivation for learning is an essential mediating construct in the relationship between leaders' support and trainees' motivation for using on-job training. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study disclosed that trainees' motivation for learning can indirectly affect the relationship between leaders' support and trainee's motivation to use onjob training. This outcome was consistent with and extended the prior studies conducted in Southeast Asia and other countries. Managerial Implication in the South East Asian Context: The findings can help leaders understand the multidimensional perspectives of trainees' motivation for learning construct and the importance of leaders and members at various hierarchical levels to maintain and enhance their organisational performance and competitiveness in 21st-century globalisation and uncertainty economy. Introduction: There is a significant increase in the number of divorce cases among Malay Muslim couples over the past years which serves as a strong signal for the government to take initiatives to understand the current situation. A plethora of literature can be found on marriage satisfaction and the quality of the relationship within marriages. However, exploration on contributing factors to long lasting marriages amongst the Malay Muslim community are lacking. This paper aims to share the initial findings in an effort to explore of the strength of relationship in a lasting marriage amongst Malay Muslim couples in Malaysia. Methods: This paper adopted a quantitative approach utilizing the Eternal Love Instrument (c) 2016 which consisted of 171 items, distributed to 350 respondents based on simple random sampling technique. Results: The findings indicated that there are three main considerations in selecting a spouse which were (1) Religion (95.2%); (2) Character (responsible) (96.1%); well mannered (95.8%); and (3) Race (79.3%). Age, looks and type of jobs were the least considered factors amongst the respondents surveyed. The respondents perceived that the strongest element in their relationship was communication (69.6%), followed by tolerance (62.6%) and responsible towards family wellbeing (56.4%). Conclusion: The initial survey has indicated that a lasting marriage is a consequence of having a responsible partner with good religious background. The COVID-19 pandemic, which has spread over the world and in Malaysia, has resulted in a total of 5,125,209 cases in Malaysia, with a death toll of 37,171 cases as of 16th September 2023. The COVID-19 outbreak has had a significant impact on Malaysia's political, economic, social, health, and educational sectors. The Movement Control Order (MCO) was enacted in response to the dramatic spike in cases, and it has a number of ramifications for Malaysian society. Several research studies have been carried out to investigate the negative effects of COVID-19. However, no studies on the B40 group have been conducted in Selangor. As a result, the aim of this study is to determine the negative economic and social effects of COVID-19 on the B40 group in Selangor. Furthermore, the purpose of this research was to find solutions to mitigate the negative effects of COVID-19 on the economic and social well-being of communities in Selangor. An online survey was used to discuss the results and perceptions of the B40 group in Selangor to the negative effects of COVID-19. A total of 200 respondents from all throughout Selangor took part in the survey. The research found that COVID-19 had negative consequences for the majority of the B40 group, but that government interventions could well help them overcome those implications. As a result of better understanding on harmful effects of COVID-19 among B40 and how to overcome them, effective preventive measures should be considered to enhance and restore the socioeconomic well-being of B40 people. Online learning has significantly expanded along with the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Personalization becomes an essential component of learning systems due to students' different learning styles and abilities. Recommending materials that meet the needs and are tailored to learners' styles and abilities is necessary to ensure a personalized learning system. The study conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) of papers on recommendation systems for e-learning in the K12 setting published between 2017 and 2021 and aims to identify the most important component of a personalized recommender system for school students' e-learning. Recommendations for later studies were proposed based on the identified components, namely a personalized conceptual framework for providing materials to school students. Background and Purpose: Workplace support is vital in ensuring positive psychological well-being of working parents. The balancing act between work and family may affect the well-being of working parents due to strenuous responsibilities. Hence, this study intends to examine the relationship between workplace support and the well-being of working parents. Methodology: The study employs a cross-sectional survey where 146 working parents were recruited. A multiple regression analysis was employed. Findings: Current study found workplace support was a significant predictor of working parents' wellbeing (F(1, 134) =2.70., p < .01), while all the predictors variables (organizational [r = .18, p < .05], supervisory [r = .17, p < .05] and co-worker support [r = .17, p < .05]) showed positive significant positive relationship with working parents' well-being. Contributions: Current research provided insight toward the development of career counselling and understanding of the implication of workplace supports for healthier working parents. This study examines the prevalence rate of emotional distress and identifies its stressors among Malaysian women during the COVID-19 nationwide lockdown. Self-administered questionnaires based on previous studies and the Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale – 21 were distributed online, resulting in the recruitment of 1,793 women aged more than 24 years old. Emotional distress was prevalent among the women (37%; N = 669). Marital Issues, Financial Issues, Living Condition, Emotion and Working from Home significantly predicted emotional distress whereas Working on Site did not. Rape culture is a provocative topic in Malaysia; the public discourse on it is plagued by gender stereotyping, sexism, misogyny, and rape myths. Recent literary works aimed at Malaysian adolescent girls have interrogated rape culture more pointedly as a means of addressing gender-based violence through activism and education. In this article, I discuss two short stories, "The Girl on the Mountain" and "Gamble" as retellings of Malaysian legends and feminist responses to the normalization and perpetuation of rape culture in this society. Through the emphasis on female agency, consent, and gender equality, these two stories reflect the subversive power of Malaysian young adult literature in dismantling rape culture, while affirming the significance of the folktale as an empowering tool for community engagement and feminist activism. Research Aims - This study was undertaken to extend existing literature by examining the medi- ating effect of trust in supervisors in the relationship between perceived interactional fairness in reward systems and organizational commitment. Design/methodology/approach - The SmartPLS method was applied to analyze the survey questionnaire data collected from employees at a national audit department in Malaysia. Research Findings - The results reveal that the effect of perceived interactional fairness in reward systems on organizational commitment is mediated by trust in supervisors. Theoretical Contribution/Originality - This study has proved the effectiveness of perceived interactional fairness as an essential mediating variable in the administration of reward systems. Managerial Implication in the South East Asian context - The findings of this study could help superiors in public organizations to encourage and support their supervisors in implementing good treatment styles for enhancing fairness in making pay decisions and interacting with diverse subordinates. If employees trust their supervisors, it may enhance the effect of employees' perceived fairness of reward systems on organizational commitment in public organizations in Southeast Asia. The establishment of women's protection institutions throughout Malaysia is seen as a sign of support for the ongoing rehabilitation efforts of responsible parties to assist problematic adolescent. Generally, each of these shelters operates on a separate module that has been developed specifically by the expertise, experienced and authoritative parties. The main goal of develop the module is to rebuild and restore moral problems of adolescents who are protected by the shelters. In summary, the content of the modules is comprehensive and balanced encompassing aspects of physical development, emotion, spiritual and intellect. Based on previous research, emphasis on the spiritual aspect was identified to assist the problematic adolescent in the recovery process. However, to what extent does they prepared for the spiritualization of the self-recovery process after leaving the shelter? There for, this research was conducted to identify the willingness of adolescent pregnant out of wedlock towards filled with spiritual life in the women's shelter. This research uses a qualitative approach with case study method. Two main techniques in the data collection process are the observation and interviews juvenile adolescents in two selected women's shelters namely Baitul Ehsan and Asrama Bahagia. The findings were analyzed thematic according to the questions prepared for any issues arising. Studies have found that teenagers who have been stationed in this shelter have shown positive reactions, received a changes and forgiveness. Most of them also agree with the content of the spirituality modules delivered and they willing to change for the better than before. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the role of interactional justice as a mediating variable in the relationship between communication about performance based reward and organizational commitment. A survey method was used to gather data from 310 employees of the largest post and courier service organization in Peninsular Malaysia. The Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) was used in the data analysis. The results showed two important outcomes: first, relationship between communication openness, interactional fairness and organizational commitment was significant. Second, relationship between communication secrecy, interactional fairness and organizational commitment was significant. This finding confirms that effect of communication about performance based reward on organizational commitment is indirectly affected by interactional justice. This finding also has provided a clear picture to managers that communication about performance based reward management is an important strategy should be use to enhance employee commitment with the organization. Research Aims - According to the present research concerning organizational training, managers' communication are often seen as a critical training management issue that may help to maintain and enhance organizational competitiveness and performance in a borderless world and era of globalization. In this study, the relationship between managers' communication, motivation to learn and training application was evaluated at military hospitals in Peninsular Malaysia. Design/methodology/approach - The SmartPLS path model analysis was utilized to examine the research hypotheses and evaluate the validity and reliability of instrument used. Research Findings - The results demonstrate that the capability of managers to communicate the training courses information will strongly invoke employees' motivation to learn. Theoretical Contribution/Originality - As a result, this motivation may lead to an improved training application in a military health context. Managerial Implication in the South East Asian context - Managers play a critical role in dissemination of the organisation's aspiration to the rank and file.
