Oxygen is necessary for life and plays a key pivotal in maintaining normal physiological functions and treat of diseases. Hemoglobin-based oxygen carriers (HBOCs) have been studied and developed as a replacement for red blood cells (RBCs) in oxygen transport due to their similar oxygen-carrying capacities. However, applications of HBOCs are hindered by vasoactivity, oxidative toxicity, and a relatively short circulatory half-life. With advancements in nanotechnology, Hb encapsulation, absorption, bioconjugation, entrapment, and attachment to nanomaterials have been used to prepare nanomaterial-related HBOCs to address these challenges and pend their application in several biomedical and therapeutic contexts. This review focuses on the progress of this class of nanomaterial-related HBOCs in the fields of hemorrhagic shock, ischemic stroke, cancer, and wound healing, and speculates on future research directions. The advancements in nanomaterial-related HBOCs are expected to lead significant breakthroughs in blood substitutes, enabling their widespread use in the treatment of clinical diseases. Determining the stress state in a circular ring has been a classical topic in the stress analysis literature. Based on the principle of superposition, the results may be obtained by adding known solutions to an associated ring problem, where the boundary stresses on the inner and outer walls of the ring are represented in Fourier series. In this work, the coefficients of the Fourier series are generated through an algorithm based on the fast Fourier transform (FFT). In the case of concentrated loading, the required additional fundamental solutions are derived in closed-form. The presented numerical method allows for accurate and efficient computations of the stress distributions in a circular ring in static equilibrium under arbitrary in-plane loading; and generally, the FFT-based algorithm provides a convenient and versatile tool for handing some two-dimensional problems involving circular boundaries. Using the final Mapping Nearby Galaxies at Apache Point Observatory sample of 10K galaxies, we investigate the dark matter (DM) fraction f DM within one half-light radius R e for about 6K galaxies with good kinematics spanning a wide range of morphologies and stellar velocity dispersion. We employ two techniques to estimate f DM: (i) Jeans anisotropic modelling (JAM), which performs DM decomposition based on stellar kinematics and (ii) comparing the total dynamical mass-to-light ratios (M / L)JAM and (M */ L)SPS from stellar population synthesis (SPS). We find that both methods consistently show a significant trend of increasing f DM with decreasing σe and low f DM at larger σe. For 235 early-type galaxies with the best models, we explore the variation of stellar initial mass function (IMF) by comparing the stellar mass-to-light ratios from JAM and SPS. We confirm that the stellar mass excess factor αIMF increases with σe, consistent with previous studies that reported a transition from Chabrier-like to Salpeter IMF among galaxies. We show that the αIMF trend cannot be driven by M */ L or IMF gradients as it persists when allowing for radial gradients in our model. We find no evidence for the total M / L increasing toward the centre. We detect weak positive correlations between αIMF and age, but no correlations with metallicity. We stack galaxy spectra according to their αIMF to search for differences in IMF-sensitive spectral features (e.g. the |$\rm Na_{\rm I}$| doublet). We only find marginal evidence for such differences, which casts doubt on the validity of one or both methods to measure the IMF. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Despite substantial progress in clinical trials of osteoarthritis (OA) gene therapy, the prevalence of OA is still on the rise. MiRNAs have a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for OA. OA cartilage and chondrosarcoma cells were studied to determine the role of miR-29a-3p and PTEN. OA cartilage and human chondrosarcoma cells (SW1353) were obtained. miR-29a-3p and PTEN signature expression was determined by RT-qPCR. The binding relationship between miR-29a-3p and PTEN was investigated by dual-luciferase reporter gene and western blot assay. TUNEL, immunohistochemistry, CCK-8, and flow cytometry were utilized to determine the proliferation and apoptosis of SW1353 cells. This study indicated downregulation of miR-29a-3p expression and upregulation of PTEN expression in human OA primary chondrocytes or OA tissue samples, compared with the normal cartilage cells or tissues. PTEN expression was negatively correlated with miR-29a-3p expression, and miR-29a-3p targeted PTEN mechanistically. miR-29a-3p reduced SW1353 cell activity and proliferation and promoted cell apoptosis. However, the aforementioned effects could be reversed by downregulating PTEN. miR-29a-3p can stimulate chondrocyte proliferation and inhibit apoptosis by inhibiting PTEN expression. The combination of multisensory stimuli in the somatosensory system enables humans to understand object comprehensive characteristics and make precise judgments. However, the development of auditory–olfactory bimodal flexible biomimetic sensors (FBSs) to mimic the function of biological perception of external stimuli still presents complex challenges. Herein, an auditory–olfactory bimodal FBS (1 and 2) is fabricated based on hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (Eu@HOF‐BPTC) integrated with melamine sponge. During the auditory sensing process, 1 can monitor sound with a maximum response frequency of 400 Hz. The auditory FBS performs ultrahigh sensitivity (41335.995 cps Pa−1 cm−2), ultrahigh precision (relative standard deviation < 0.20%), ultrafast response time (20 ms), ultralow detection limit (1.1039 Hz and 0.1083 dB), and great recyclability (148 cycles), which can also real‐time monitor infrasound waves within 4–20 Hz. Based on artificial intelligence, 2 as an olfactory FBS demonstrates excellent sensitivity with a ppm‐level response limit and desirable selectivity toward four odor molecules and realizes wearable on‐site detection. The FBS also completes auditory and olfactory signals integration and interoperability by means of human–machine interaction. The bimodal auditory–olfactory FBS is highly promising for implementing bimodal interaction, simulating complex biological neural system, and promoting environmental monitoring, disaster warning and health care. Developing atomically dispersed metal on nitrogen‐doped carbon (M─N─C) catalyst provides a promising strategy to convert CO2 into high‐valued chemicals and achieve artificially closed carbon cycles. However, it is challenging to tune the structure and coordination of N─M bond that further improve the intrinsic activity and selectivity of CO2RR. Herein, CuNi atomic clusters embedded in Ni/Cu dual atomic sites catalysts (CuNiAC@Ni/Cu─N─C) are designed and successfully manipulated to regulate the coordination environment for M─N─C catalysts to enhance the CO2 electroreduction reaction (CO2RR). The most active configuration in CuNiAC@Ni/Cu─N─C catalyst is CuNi atomic cluster connected with 2N‐bridged (Ni‐Cu)N5, in which two N atoms are shared with NiN4 and CuN3 moieties verified by both systematic advanced characterizations and density function theory (DFT) calculations. The results have revealed the integration between CuNi atomic cluster and N4Ni/CuN3 dual‐metal atomic sites that optimize the electronic redistribution and narrow the bandgap, thereby decreasing the energy barrier of the potential determination step and promoting CO production. OBJECTIVE: To prospectively evaluate the association between modifiable lifestyle factors and peripheral artery disease (PAD) among individuals with type 2 diabetes (T2D). RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS: We included 14,543 individuals with T2D from the UK Biobank. We defined a weighted healthy lifestyle score using nonsmoking, regular physical activity, high-quality diet, moderate alcohol consumption, optimal waist-to-hip ratio, and adequate sleep duration, and categorized into unfavorable, intermediate, and favorable lifestyles. We created a genetic risk score (GRS) using 19 single nucleotide polymorphisms previously found to be associated with PAD. We modeled the association between lifestyle score and PAD, overall and stratified by PAD genetic susceptibility. RESULTS: After a median 13.5 years of follow-up, 628 incident cases of PAD were documented. A linear inverse association between the weighted lifestyle score and PAD was observed, with a hazard ratio (HR) (95% CI) of 0.27 (0.19, 0.38) for favorable compared with unfavorable lifestyle (Ptrend < 0.0001). An estimated 58.3% (45.0%, 69.1%) of PAD in this population could be potentially avoidable if all participants attained a favorable lifestyle. Moreover, the PAD GRS was associated with increased PAD risk (HR [95% CI] per SD increment: 1.13 [1.03, 1.23]). A favorable lifestyle was able to partially mitigate the excess risk of PAD associated with higher GRS, albeit as a nonsignificant interaction. Several biomarkers in the lipid metabolism, hepatic/renal function, and systemic inflammation pathways collectively explained 13.3% (8.5%, 20.1%) of the association between weighted lifestyle score and PAD. CONCLUSIONS: A favorable lifestyle was associated with lower risk of PAD among individuals with T2D, independent of genetic predisposition to PAD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Utilizing the framework of the L2 motivational self‐system as its theoretical foundation, this study focuses on a total of 52 students who discontinue their English learning within a senior high school in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province. The primary objective of this study is to discern the underlying motivations prompting students to discontinue their English learning through a methodological approach encompassing video‐mediated interviews with the students, subsequently subject to meticulous qualitative scrutiny through the Nvivo software. The analysis focuses on the systematic decoding and recoding of the interview transcripts to discern thematic patterns, hereby unraveling the motivations contributing to students' cessation of English learning. The results indicate a spectrum of negative factors contributing to this phenomenon, including an aversion to the extant English learning milieu and the pressure of English learning, waning interest, diminished academic attainment, cultural disparities vis‐à‐vis English‐speaking regions, and eroded self‐efficacy in mastering the language. Moreover, this study elucidates various factors that collectively contribute to a lack of motivation among students, including the large class sizes, a paucity of English application contexts, the absence of phonetic pedagogy culminating in compromised autonomous learning ability, test‐oriented teaching methods, ineffective English core subject literacy, and an overall substandard learning milieu. Practitioner points: The formulation of language education policies must be based on the academic pressures and resource allocation faced in actual teaching.Policies concerning the optimization of the learning environment are worthy of attention and consideration by policymakers.Reducing formalistic rule‐making and review systems in actual teaching is an urgent issue that needs to be addressed. This study proposes a deep neural network (DNN)-based downscaling model incorporating kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) to investigate the precipitation uncertainty influenced by typhoons in Taiwan, which has a complex island topography. The best tracking data of tropical cyclones from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) are utilized to calculate typhoon and non-typhoon precipitation. KPCA is applied to extract nonlinear features of the BCC-CSM1-1 (Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model version 1.1) and CanESM2 (second-generation Canadian Earth System Model) GCM models. The length of the data used in the two GCM models span from January 1950 to December 2005 (historical data) and from January 2006 to December 2099 (scenario out data). The rainfall data are collected from the weather stations in Taichung and Hualien (cities of Taiwan) operated by the Central Weather Administration (CWA), Taiwan. The period of rainfall data in Taichung and in Hualien spans from January 1950 to December 2005. The proposed model is constructed with features extracted from the GCMs and historical monthly precipitation from Taichung and Hualien. The model we have built is used to estimate monthly precipitation and uncertainty in both Taichung and Hualien for future scenarios (rcp 4.5 and 8.5) of the GCMs. The results suggest that, in Taichung and Hualien, the summer precipitation is mostly within the normal range. The rainfall in the long term (January 2071 to December 2080) for both Taichung and Hualien typically fall between 100 mm and 200 mm. In the long term, the dry season (January to April, November, and December) precipitation for Taichung and that in the wet season (May to October) for Hualien are less and more affected by typhoons, respectively. The dry season precipitation is more affected by typhoons in Taichung than Hualien. In both Taichung and Hualien, the long-term probability of rainfall exceeding the historical average in the dry season is higher than that in the wet season. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Frictional contact problem of a layer-substrate structure is an important topic in coating optimization design. The present work carries out a comprehensive analysis on the coupling effect of coefficient of friction, Poisson's ratio, and layer thickness on contact stresses distribution. A physical property namely full decoupling under interaction between material and geometric couplings is explicitly observed. Eccentricity in contact could be virtually diminished, and symmetrization on contact pressure of non-Hertzian type is presented at a specific Poisson's ratio. Additionally, position of tensile peak within in-plane surface stress could not be affected by friction under the full decoupling effect. Coupling effects of Poisson's ratio, friction coefficient, and layer thickness on eccentric contact involving soft bonded coating are studied systematically. A physical property namely full normal-tangential decoupling at a specific Poisson's ratio in thin coating is explicitly observed and analyzed comprehensively. The direct urea fuel cell (DUFC) is a power generation equipment with urea-rich wastewater or urine as fuel source. It has the unique ability to purify sewage while simultaneously generating electricity, making it a highly efficient and environmentally friendly option. In this paper, pomegranate seed-like Ni nano-blocks and Fe nanosheets were synthesized by electrodeposition and chemical reduction and attached to the carbonized melamine sponge matrix. The N -doped carbon sponge (NCS) provided a large number of polyhedral holes, which allowed for efficient gas escape through channels. The combination of Fe reduces the initial urea oxidation potential, reaction activation energy and reaction resistance. The synthesized FeNi supported on N -doped carbon sponge composite (FeNi@NCS) has a catalytic current density of 625 mA cm−2 and a Tafel slope of 42.51 mV dec−1 for urea electrooxidation reaction (UOR). Assembling the direct urine-hydrogen peroxide fuel cell (DUrHPFC) resulted in the highest performance output. The open circuit voltage (OCV) was 0.98 V, and the peak power density reached 9.61 mW cm−2. We present dynamical scaling relations, combined with the stellar population properties, for a subsample of about 6000 nearby galaxies with the most reliable dynamical models extracted from the full Mapping Nearby Galaxies at Apache Point Observatory (MaNGA) sample of 10 000 galaxies. We show that the inclination-corrected mass plane for both early-type galaxies (ETGs) and late-type galaxies (LTGs), which links dynamical mass, projected half-light radius R e, and the second stellar velocity moment σe within R e, satisfies the virial theorem and is even tighter than the uncorrected one. We find a clear parabolic relation between |$\lg (M/L)_{\rm e}$|⁠ , the total mass-to-light ratio (M / L) within a sphere of radius R e, and |$\lg \sigma _{\rm e}$|⁠ , with the M / L increasing with σe and for older stellar populations. However, the relation for ETGs is linear and the one for the youngest galaxies is constant. We confirm and improve the relation between mass-weighted total density slopes |$\overline{\gamma _{_{\rm T}}}$| and σe: |$\overline{\gamma _{_{\rm T}}}$| become steeper with increasing σe until |$\lg (\sigma _{\rm e}/{\rm km\, s^{-1}})\approx 2.2$| and then remain constant around |$\overline{\gamma _{_{\rm T}}}\approx 2.2$|⁠. The |$\overline{\gamma _{_{\rm T}}}\!-\!\sigma _{\rm e}$| variation is larger for LTGs than ETGs. At fixed σe the total density profiles steepen with galaxy age and for ETGs. We find generally low dark matter fractions, median f DM(< R e) = 8 per cent, within a sphere of radius R e. However, we find that f DM(< R e) depends on σe better than stellar mass: dark matter increases to a median f DM(< R e) = 33 per cent for galaxies with |$\sigma _{\rm e}\lesssim 100$|  km s−1. The increased f DM(< R e) at low σe explains the parabolic |$\lg (M/L)_{\rm e}\!-\!\lg \sigma _{\rm e}$| relation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Based on linear potential flow theory, this study investigates the hydrodynamic performance of a co-located farm with an array of floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) and floating photovoltaics (FPVs). In this process, to evaluate the wave–structure interaction, domain decomposition and matched eigenfunction method are applied to address the boundary value problem for a complex-shaped co-located farm, and the velocity potential can be decomposed into radiation and diffraction problems. Under the framework of linearized theory, we establish the coupled motion equations by modeling rigid and articulated constraints to evaluate the kinematic response of the FOWTs and FPVs in the co-located farm. For such a system, a co-located farm consisting of an array of OC4-DeepCwind FOWTs and FPVs is proposed and investigated in this study. After running convergence analysis and model validation, the present model is employed to perform a multiparameter effect analysis. Case studies are presented to clarify the effects of solar platform geometric parameters (including column depth, thickness, radius, and total draft), articulated system, and shadow effect on the hydrodynamic behavior of wind and solar platforms. The findings elucidated in this work provide guidance for the optimized design of FPVs and indicate the potential for synergies between wind and solar energy utilization on floating platforms. Lunar grabens are the largest tensional linear structures on the Moon. In this paper, 17 grabens were selected to investigate the dips and displacement–length ratios (γ) of graben-bounding faults. Several topographic profiles were generated from selected grabens to measure their rim elevation, width and depth through SLDEM2015 (+LOLA) data. The differences in rim elevation (∆h) and width (∆W) between two topographic profiles on each graben were calculated, yielding 146 sets of data. We plotted ∆h vs. ∆W for each and calculated the dip angle (α) of graben-bounding faults. A dip of 39.9° was obtained using the standard linear regression method. In order to improve accuracy, large error data were removed based on error analysis. The results, 49.4° and 52.5°, were derived by the standard linear regression and average methods, respectively. Based on the depth and length of grabens, the γ value of the graben-bounding normal fault is also studied in this paper. The γ value is 3.6 × 10−3 for lunar normal faults according to the study of grabens and the Rupes Recta normal fault. After obtaining the values of α and γ, the increase in lunar radius indicated by the formation of grabens was estimated. We suggest that the lunar radius has increased by approximately 130 m after the formation of grabens. This study could aid in the understanding of normal fault growth and provide important constraints on the thermal evolution of the Moon. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The dimple of ball grid array (BGA) area with 70 mm × 70 mm size on load board for high performance integrated circuit final test is investigated by shadow moire at first, the dimple of BGA area decreases from 184.3 to 97.1 μm when six additional prepregs with 60 mm × 60 mm size are added at BGA area before hot lamination process. The micromorphology and stress/strain simulation are conducted to improve the coverage and reliability of copper metallization layer in through hole at that BGA area. The microcracks of electroless copper layer at the position of glass fiber and inner layer copper pad, which leads to serious crack after solder float, are well covered by subsequent electroplating copper layer. When the through holes at BGA area with 0.2 mm diameter and 7.0 mm depth are fabricated based on insulating dielectric material used for high-speed signal transmission, the simulation results point out that IT968 is better than M6G for the thermal shock reliability of through hole metallization layer. A load board vehicle with 126 layers and 8.3 mm thickness based on IT968 shows good interconnection structure reliability after 12 times 288°C solder float. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The development of rapid, sensitive, and intuitive intelligent fluorescent materials (IFMs) for monitoring beverage safety is important for human health. In this study, an emerging IFM, a dual‐emitting Eu3+‐functionalized hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (Eu@HOF, Eu@1), is fabricated through coordination post‐synthetic modification. The ligand‐to‐metal charge transfer‐induced energy transfer (LMCT‐ET) from 1 to Eu3+ provides Eu@1 with palpable red fluorescence. Eu@1 as a sensor can specifically discriminate coumarin (Cou), a common spice used in beverages but a suspected carcinogen, with high sensitivity, high efficiency, and excellent anti‐interference. Eu@1 can also quantitatively distinguish 7‐hydroxycoumarin (umbelliferone, Ulf), a metabolite of Cou, in chromatic and ratiometric modes. In realistic milk and soy milk samples, the detection limits (DL) of Eu@1 for Cou are 0.0979 and 0.0511 mg L−1, respectively, whereas that of Ulf in practical serum samples is 0.0099 mg L−1. Furthermore, based on the polyethylene‐vinyl acetate (PEVA) films, three digital anti‐counterfeiting platforms with multiple encryption information are constructed, assisted by a support vector machine. This work proposes a facile pathway for preparing Eu@HOF fluorescent sensors to determine beverage safety and opens the possibility of designing an efficient and precise multifunctional digital anti‐counterfeiting platform via machine learning. This is the second paper of the Mapping Nearby Galaxies at Apache Point Observatory (MaNGA) Dynamics and stellar Population (DynPop) series, which analyses the global stellar population, radial gradients, and non-parametric star-formation history of ∼10K galaxies from the MaNGA Survey final data release 17 and relates them with dynamical properties of galaxies. We confirm the correlation between the stellar population properties and the stellar velocity dispersion σe, but also find that younger galaxies are more metal-poor at fixed σe. Stellar age, metallicity, and mass-to-light ratio (M */ L) all decrease with increasing galaxy rotation, while their radial gradients become more negative (i.e. lower value at the outskirts). The exception is the slow rotators, which also appear to have significantly negative metallicity gradients, confirming the mass–metallicity gradient correlation. Massive disc galaxies in the green valley, on the |$(\sigma _{\rm e},\rm age)$| plane, show the most negative age and metallicity gradients, consistent with their old central bulges surrounded by young star-forming discs and metal-poor gas accretion. Galaxies with high σe, steep total mass-density slope, low dark matter fraction, high M */ L , and high metallicity have the highest star-formation rate at earlier times, and are currently quenched. We also discover a population of low-mass star-forming galaxies with low rotation but physically distinct from the massive slow rotators. Giant polyoxomolybdates are a special class of polyoxometalate clusters which can bridge the gap between small molecule clusters and large polymeric entities. Besides, giant polyoxomolybdates also show interesting applications in catalysis, biochemistry, photovoltaic and electronic devices, and other fields. Revealing the evolution route of the reducing species into the final cluster structure and also their further hierarchical self-assembly behaviour is undoubtedly fascinating, aiming to guide the design and synthesis. Herein, we reviewed the self-assembly mechanism study of giant polyoxomolybdate clusters, and the exploration of a new structure and new synthesis methodology is also summarized. Finally, we emphasize the importance of in-operando characterization in revealing the self-assembly mechanism of giant polyoxomolybdates, and especially for the further reconstruction of intermediates into the designable synthesis of new structures. Taking 27 cities in the Yangtze River Delta as an example, the time section data from 2009 to 2019 are selected, and the location entropy index and the modified E-G index are introduced to measure the collaborative agglomeration level of intercity manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta. The spatial weight matrix is constructed based on the highway mileage between cities. Using Moran's index and Local Moran's index, this article analyzes the spatial correlation of the collaborative agglomeration level of intercity manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta. The results show that: Firstly, the overall agglomeration degree of manufacturing industry of cities in the Yangtze River Delta shows a fluctuating downward trend. The agglomeration degree of manufacturing industry in Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces has decreased, that of most cities in Anhui Province has increased steadily. Secondly, the collaborative agglomeration level of manufacturing industry between Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou and other cities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces showed a downward trend, while the collaborative agglomeration level with Anhui cities increased steadily. The collaborative agglomeration level of manufacturing industry between Wuxi, Suzhou, Nanjing and cities with obvious advantages in manufacturing industry agglomeration degree shows an upward trend, while the collaborative agglomeration level with other cities has declined. The collaborative agglomeration level of intercity manufacturing industry in Hefei has generally improved, especially the collaborative agglomeration quality and depth of manufacturing industry between Hefei and other cities in Anhui Province have significantly improved. Thirdly, the regions with high collaborative agglomeration level of intercity manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta are still mainly concentrated in Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces. Although there has been a trend of westward transfer in the past decade, the overall change range is small, and the spatial correlation of the collaborative agglomeration level of intercity manufacturing industry shows a weakening trend as a whole. Objective: To investigate the effect of physical exercise on sleep quality and the mediating effect of smartphone use behavior in college students. An online survey of 5,075 college students was conducted using the Physical Activity Rating Scale-3, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and the Mobile Phone Addiction Tendency Scale. Results: The sleep quality of college students was poor, and the proportion of college students with good sleep quality was 23.567%. A significant correlation existed between sleep quality and physical exercise (r = −0.159, P < 0.001) and mobile phone addiction (r = 0.355, P < 0.001). Physical exercise can predict sleep quality in college students (β = −0.011, P < 0.001). Smartphone use plays a part in mediating the process by which physical exercise affects sleep quality. Conclusion: Chinese college students have poor sleep quality. Physical exercise and smartphone use behavior are important factors affecting the sleep quality of college students. Physical exercise can directly predict the sleep quality of college students and can predict the sleep quality of college students through the mediating effect of smartphone use behavior. Ferroptosis is an iron‐dependent cell death process mainly triggered by reactive oxygen species (ROS) and lipid peroxidation. Thioredoxin domain protein 12 (TXNDC12) promotes the development of some tumors; however, its function in tumor ferroptosis remains unclear. In this study, we found that knockdown of TXNDC12 promoted erastin‐induced increase in ROS, lipid peroxidation, and Fe2+ levels, and decreased glutathione content. TXNDC12 is involved in ferroptosis by regulating SLC7A11. Further studies showed that TXNDC12 knockdown promoted an erastin‐induced decrease in glioma cell viability. Objectives: In previous reports, proton pump inhibitor (PPI) use increased the risk of gout. However, there is no epidemiological study investigating this association. We aimed to examine the potential impact of PPI treatment on the risk of developing gout. Methods: A population‐based case–control study was performed using a Longitudinal Health Insurance Database 2000 from Taiwan (population 23 million). We identified gout cases and non‐gout controls through propensity score matching at 1:1, which was matched by sex and age. We used a conditional logistic regression model to estimate an odds ratio and 95% confidence intervals (CI) for gout population versus controls. Results: Esomeprazole increased the risk of gout after adjusting confounding variables (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 1.3; 95% CI 1.0–1.6). The risk of gout was highest within 30 days of PPI treatment (aOR 1.7; 95% CI 1.4–1.9) and attenuated thereafter. The risk of gout was increased among female users of PPI compared with male users (aOR 2.2; 95% CI 1.7–2.8). The aOR of gout in people with PPI use was higher in middle‐aged individuals (41–60 years: aOR 2.1; 95% CI 1.7–2.7) than in the older group (≥60 years: aOR 1.8; 95% CI 1.5–2.2). Conclusions: Our findings provide population‐level evidence for the hypothesis that PPI treatment is positively associated with the risk of developing gout. Wounds are in a stressed state, which precludes healing. Trehalose is a stress metabolite that protects cells under stress. Here, we explored whether trehalose reduces stress-induced wound tissue damage. A stress model was prepared by exposing human keratinocytes to hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2), followed by trehalose treatment. Trehalose effects on expression of the autophagy-related proteins ATG5 and ATG7 and cell proliferation and migration were evaluated. For in vivo verification, a wound model was established in Sprague–Dawley rats, to measure the effects of trehalose wound-healing rate and reactive oxygen species (ROS) content. Histological changes during wound healing and trehalose's effects on ATG5 and ATG7 expression, necrosis, and apoptosis were examined·H 2 O 2 stress increased ATG5 and ATG7 expression in vitro , but this was insufficient to prevent stress-induced damage. Trehalose further increased ATG5/ATG7 levels, which restored proliferation and increased migration by depolymerizing the cytoskeleton. However, trehalose did not exert these effects after ATG5 and ATG7 knockout. In vivo, the ROS content was higher in the wound tissue than in normal skin. Organic polymers have been considered reliable candidates for lithium storage due to their high capacity and lack of volume expansion. Compared with other organic polymers, polyimide has become a very promising electrode material for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) because of its easy synthesis, customizable structure and structural stability. A large number of studies have confirmed that the benzene ring structure of polyimide has strong lithium storage capacity as an anode material. Hence, we designed and synthesized polyimide organic polymer (PBPAQ) for the first time. The unique spherical flower structure of this material enhances the interaction between the electrode material and the electrolyte by increasing the contact area. The PBPAQ anode has a specific discharge capacity of 738 mAh g−1 after 100 cycles at 0.1 A g−1. Adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD) experience a high prevalence of atrial arrhythmia (AA) and thromboembolic cerebrovascular complications. However, data on AA and associated long-term outcomes are limited in ACHD patients with coarctation of the aorta (CoA). This study aimed to characterize the prevalence and risk factors for AA and thromboembolic complications in adults with CoA. We conducted a retrospective cohort study in a tertiary ACHD care center and included consecutive CoA patients older than 18 years old with more than one year of follow-up. Two hundred seventy patients with CoA were followed for 7.2 ± 3.95 years. The mean age was 35.3 ± 11.1 and 55.2% were male. Patients had a mean of 2.1 ± 1.8 cardiovascular surgical or transcatheter procedures. Thirty-five patients (13%) had AA. Ten subjects (3.8%) had a thromboembolic cerebrovascular event, of which four (1.4%) had AA. In univariate analysis, age (p = 0.005) and total intracardiac interventions (p = 0.007) were associated with the presence of AA. Age (p = 0.021), history of heart failure (p = 0.022), and dyslipidemia (p = 0.019) were associated with thromboembolism. In multivariate analysis, age (p < 0.001) and intracardiac interventions (p = 0.007) were associated with AA. The rate of AA is higher in adults with CoA than in the general population but lower than in other ACHD. Increasing age and intracardiac interventions were associated with AA. The rate of thromboembolic events was low. Some traditional risk factors for stroke may apply. This is the first paper in our series on the combined analysis of the Dynamics and stellar Population (DynPop) for the MaNGA survey in the final SDSS Data Release 17 (DR17). Here, we present a catalogue of dynamically determined quantities for over 10 000 nearby galaxies based on integral-field stellar kinematics from the MaNGA survey. The dynamical properties are extracted using the axisymmetric Jeans Anisotropic Modelling (JAM) method, which was previously shown to be the most accurate for this kind of study. We assess systematic uncertainties using eight dynamical models with different assumptions. We use two orientations of the velocity ellipsoid: either cylindrically aligned JAMcyl or spherically aligned JAMsph. We also make four assumptions for the models' dark versus luminous matter distributions: (1) mass-follows-light, (2) free NFW dark halo, (3) cosmologically constrained NFW halo, (4) generalized NFW dark halo, i.e. with free inner slope. In this catalogue, we provide the quantities related to the mass distributions (e.g. the density slopes and enclosed mass within a sphere of a given radius for total mass, stellar mass, and dark matter mass components). We also provide the complete models which can be used to compute the full luminous and mass distribution of each galaxy. Additionally, we visually assess the qualities of the models to help with model selections. We estimate the observed scatter in the measured quantities which decreases as expected with improvements in quality. Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have demonstrated rapid progress in their power conversion efficiencies (PCEs)—from 3.8% in 2009 to 25.7% in 2022—and they have received considerable attention as a promising future photovoltaic (PV) technology. However, the operational stability of PSCs is still inadequate to satisfy the standards for commercial applications. Interface engineering has become one of the most important strategies to push PSCs' efficiency and stability for practical use. Among the various interface engineering approaches, organic interface modifiers (OIMs) have been frequently used by the PSC field to address the issues limiting PSC stability at high efficiency levels. In this perspective, the chemical structures of state‐of‐the‐art OIMs are discussed, and their characteristics are reviewed, as well as the impact on device performance associated with key device interfaces (e.g., metal oxide/perovskite and organic transport layer/perovskite interfaces) from a chemical and materials engineering point of view is discussed. Design considerations and the authors' perspective are discussed, on the basis of representative literature examples, for building new, customized organic OIMs to further improve PSC efficiency and stability toward commercialization. Solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) has been widely used as a prospective proxy of plant photosynthesis to accurately detect the response of vegetation to climate change and study terrestrial ecosystem carbon cycle. However, the challenge of estimating vegetation gross primary product (GPP) based on SIF observations remains unresolved due to the confounding effects of leaf physiology and canopy structure, especially the vertical heterogeneity of plant attributes. Radiative transfer models are ideally suited to investigate the variability in radiance signals including fluorescence, but previous studies lack vertically layered spectra to validate the model. In this study, we developed a vertically layered hyperspectral system and proposed an innovative framework for assessing vertical characteristics of SIF and improving the estimation of GPP based on SIF in a subtropical evergreen forest. The global sensitivity analysis on Soil-Canopy-Observation of Photosynthesis and Energy fluxes (SCOPE) model with vertical profiles showed that chlorophyll content (Cab), leaf inclination distribution (LIDFa), leaf area index (LAI), and senescent material (Cs) dominate the vertical variations in reflectance (Ref) and SIF. We found that the vertical characteristics of SIF were mainly impacted by these parameters of the adjacent vertical layer, except for the effects of LAI across the vertical layers on the observed understory SIF U , which were approximately equivalent. 7.8 ± 1.7% of the SIF U was transferred to the top of canopy, contributing up to 17% of the SIF observed on the top of canopy (SIF TOC) during the year. Furthermore, our findings suggest that substituting the observed SIF TOC with the total emitted SIF, particularly from the simulated overstory and understory SIF, could enhance the correlation between GPP and SIF with an increased R2 (ΔR2 = 0.09). This study highlights the importance of accounting for the contribution of the layered SIF in the quantification of the total SIF emission and can benefit the GPP estimation based on SIF signals in subtropical evergreen forests with high canopy density. Binders play a critical role in rechargeable lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) by holding granular electrode materials, conductive carbons, and current collectors firmly together to form and maintain a continuous electron conduction phase with sufficient mechanical strength. In the commercial LIBs, the dominant binder is polyvinylidene fluoride for the cathode (LiCoO2, LiFePO4, LiNixCotyMnzO2, etc.) and carboxyl methylcellulose/styrene‐butadiene rubber for the anode (graphite and Li4Ti5O12). However, these polymer binders have several drawbacks, particularly, a lack of electronic and lithium‐ion conductivities. Here, a novel organic/inorganic hybrid conductive binder (LAP‐rGO) for both the anode and cathode of LIBs is reported. The binder consists of 2D reduced graphene oxide sheets with anchored long alkane chains. Electrodes prepared using this binder exhibit sufficient high bond strength, fast electrolyte diffusion, high rate charge/discharge performance, and excellent cycling stability. Around 130 mAh g−1 capacity enhancement at 5C is demonstrated for LiFePO4 and Li4Ti5O12 electrodes owing to the combined improvement in electron and lithium ion transportation. LAP‐rGO bond graphite anode shows specific capacity beyond its theoretical value. Purpose: To investigate the clinical value of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols for children with neuroblastoma (NB). Methods: This retrospective review was conducted by using the electronic medical records of 48 children with retroperitoneal localized NB who underwent tumor resection (surgery for treatment, not diagnosis) between October 2016 and September 2021. The ERAS protocols for NB excision were implemented in 28 children (ERAS group), while 20 children received traditional care (TRAD group). The same group of pediatric surgeons performed all the tumor resections. Intraoperative fluid infusion, the extent of NB resection, time of early ambulation and time of first flatus, time to total enteral nutrition (TEN) after surgery, abdominal drainages, nasogastric tubes and urinary catheters used and duration, the Face/Legs/Activity/Cry/Consolability (FLACC) quantitative table on a postoperative day 1 (POD1), 3, 5, length of stay after surgery (LOS), hospitalization expense, postoperative complications, parental satisfaction rate and readmission rate of surgical wards within 30 days after operation were analyzed. Results: The median postoperative period of early mobilization, first flatus, TEN, LOS and total cost during hospitalization were 1.0 days, 2.0 days, 5.5 days, 9.0 days and 33,397.3 yuan in the ERAS group and 3.0 days, 3.0 days, 7.0 days, 11.0 days and 38,120.3 Yuan in the TRAD group, respectively (all p < 0.05). Median intraoperative fluid volume was 5.0 mL/kg/h compared to 8.0 mL/kg/h and the magnitude of decrease in FLACC scores from POD1 to POD5 was greater in the ERAS group (all p < 0.05). Abdominal drainages, urinary catheters and nasogastric tubes were removed earlier in the ERAS group (p < 0.05). The satisfaction of parents in the ERAS group was slightly higher, but the difference was not statistically significant (P = 0.762). There were no marked differences between the two groups in aspects of the extent of NB resection, operation-related complications and 30-day readmissions (all P = 1.000). Conclusions: Application of ERAS protocols in localized retroperitoneal NBs resection in children is feasible and safe. Cephalopods are well-documented for voracious and opportunistic feeding behaviors, but knowledge about individual niche partitioning in energy acquisition is still scarce. Here, we applied the stable isotope analysis to evaluate the individual diet specialization of female jumbo squid (Dosidicus gigas), which is an important pelagic commercial cephalopod and also acts as a vector of energy and nutrient transfer in the marine ecosystem. We detected the δ15N and δ13C values of each squid's paired tissues; the digestive gland and mantle tissue were sampled from three regions (the Equatorial waters, waters off north and south Peruvian Exclusive Economic Zone) in the southeast Pacific. We found that the squid spanned more than one trophic level variation in the ranges of δ15N and δ13C values and consistently increased isotopic niche as they grew in each sampling region. Conversely, the variations between the paired tissues for each individual typically averaged from 0.82‰ to 1.92‰ for the δ15N values, and for the δ13C values, averaged from 1.18‰ to 1.65‰; the isotopic individuality index was close to 0. The inter-individual difference metrics (isotopic evenness and isotopic uniqueness) showed a variability of 1.1–1.7 factor when using the gonadosomatic index as a weight factor, and negligible change when weighed by mantle length, compared to the metrics without a weight factor added. The results indicate that the female jumbo squid is a diet generalist that is composed of individual specialization and that the individual diet specialization may be linked to energy acquisition for reproduction. Many marine structures are composed of vertical axisymmetric floats. In this paper, a semi-analytical model based on the linear potential flow theory and an eigenfunction expansion method is developed to study wave diffraction and radiation by an array of cylindrical structures. Each structure can be formed by three coaxial cylinders of different dimensions. Based on the semi-analytical model, a constrained matrix equation of motion is presented and solved to evaluate the performance of multiple interconnected cylindrical structures. In order to verify the accuracy of the semi-analytical model, a typical OC4-DeepCwind floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) is selected for validation. The validated model is, then, applied to study the effect of base column submergence depth, radius, and thickness on the motion response of a semi-submersible platform. Although the results of this study are of significance for the selection of the optimum semi-submersible FOWT for specific locations (with specific prevailing wave directions), the focus of this work was placed on the semi-analytical model itself, which is efficient in modeling the interaction of the wave field and can be used in future FOWT projects. Background: Laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) has now been established as a safe and minimally invasive technique that is deemed feasible for treating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). However, the role of LLR in treating combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma (cHCC-CC) patients has been rarely reported. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of LLR when compared with open liver resection (OLR) procedure for patients with cHCC-CC. Methods: A total of 229 cHCC-CC patients who underwent hepatic resection (34 LLR and 195 OLR patients) from January 2014 to December 2018 in Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University were enrolled and underwent a 1:2 propensity score matching (PSM) analysis between the LLR and OLR groups to compare perioperative and oncologic outcomes. Overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) parameters were assessed by the log-rank test and the sensitivity analysis. Results: A total of 34 LLR and 68 OLR patients were included after PSM analysis. The LLR group displayed a shorter postoperative hospital stay (6.61 vs. 8.26 days; p value < 0.001) when compared with the OLR group. No significant differences were observed in the postoperative complications' incidence or a negative surgical margin rate between the two groups (p value = 0.409 and p value = 1.000, respectively). The aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and inflammatory indicators in the LLR group were significantly lower than those in the OLR group on the first and third postoperative days. Additionally, OS and RFS were comparable in both the LLR and OLR groups (p value = 0.700 and p value = 0.780, respectively), and similar results were obtained by conducting a sensitivity analysis. Conclusion: LLR can impart less liver function damage, better inflammatory response attenuation contributing to a faster recovery, and parallel oncologic outcomes when compared with OLR. Therefore, LLR can be recommended as a safe and effective therapeutic modality for treating selected cHCC-CC patients, especially for those with small tumors in favorable location. Two geometrical parameters, amplitude and wavelength, of the structure of the wavy-flow field in a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) were investigated on their impacts on cell performances via a three-dimensional, multiphase, and non-isothermal model. Amplitude and wavelength significantly influence oxygen transport, friction resistance, and current densities in PEMFC operations. The enhancement of current density peaks at an amplitude of 0.4 mm and a wavelength of 2 mm, increased by 10.40% compared to the non-wavy design. The wavy channels would increase the oxygen concentration gradient and the viscous friction, increasing entropy generation. The entropy generation rates increase more significantly at small wavelengths and large amplitudes. The entropy generation ratio (EGR) evaluates the performances of different wavy channels based on the accurate description of oxygen transport in PEMFC without calculating the associated pumping power consumption rates. Background: The influence of overall lifestyle behaviors on diabetic microvascular complications remains unknown. In addition, the potential mediating biomarkers underlying the association is unclear. This study aimed to examine the associations of the combined lifestyle factors with risks of total and individual microvascular complications among patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and to explore the potential mediation effects of metabolic biomarkers. Methods and findings: This retrospective cohort study included 15,104 patients with T2D free of macro- and microvascular complications at baseline (2006 to 2010) from the UK Biobank. Healthy lifestyle behaviors included noncurrent smoking, recommended waist circumference, regular physical activity, healthy diet, and moderate alcohol drinking. Outcomes were ascertained using electronic health records. Over a median of 8.1 years of follow-up, 1,296 cases of the composite microvascular complications occurred, including 558 diabetic retinopathy, 625 diabetic kidney disease, and 315 diabetic neuropathy, with some patients having 2 or 3 microvascular complications simultaneously. After multivariable adjustment for sociodemographic characteristics, history of hypertension, glycemic control, and medication histories, the hazard ratios (95% confidence intervals (CIs)) for the participants adhering 4 to 5 low-risk lifestyle behaviors versus 0 to 1 were 0.65 (0.46, 0.91) for diabetic retinopathy, 0.43 (0.30, 0.61) for diabetic kidney disease, 0.46 (0.29, 0.74) for diabetic neuropathy, and 0.54 (0.43, 0.68) for the composite outcome (all Ps-trend ≤0.01). Further, the population-attributable fraction (95% CIs) of diabetic microvascular complications for poor adherence to the overall healthy lifestyle (<4 low-risk factors) ranged from 25.3% (10.0%, 39.4%) to 39.0% (17.7%, 56.8%). In addition, albumin, HDL-C, triglycerides, apolipoprotein A, C-reactive protein, and HbA1c collectively explained 23.20% (12.70%, 38.50%) of the associations between overall lifestyle behaviors and total diabetic microvascular complications. The key limitation of the current analysis was the potential underreporting of microvascular complications because the cases were identified via electronic health records. Conclusions: Adherence to overall healthy lifestyle behaviors was associated with a significantly lower risk of microvascular complications in patients with T2D, and the favorable associations were partially mediated through improving biomarkers of glycemic control, systemic inflammation, liver function, and lipid profile. In this study, the as-cast microstructure and the evolution of the homogenized microstructure of large-scale industrialized Al-Cu-Mg-Ag heat-resistant aluminum alloy ingots were investigated by means of optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive analysis (EDS), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results indicate that the dendritic segregation is evident in the ingot along the radial direction, and the grain boundaries are decorated with lots of net-shaped continuous eutectic structures. With the homogenization time extension and the homogenization temperature increase, the eutectic phases (i.e., the primary Al2Cu phase, the Al2CuMg phase, and the AlCuMgAg quaternary phase) at the grain boundaries gradually dissolve back into the matrix. Meanwhile, most of the dendritic grain boundaries gradually become sparse and thinner. Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major public health issue worldwide, which is characterized by irreversible loss of nephron and renal function. However, the molecular mechanism of CKD remains underexplored. Methods: This study integrated three transcriptional profile datasets to investigate the molecular mechanism of CKD. The differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between Sham control (Con) and unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO)-operated mice were analyzed by utilizing the limma package in R. The shared DEGs were analyzed by Gene Ontology and functional enrichment. Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) were constructed by utilizing the STRING database. Hub genes were analyzed by MCODE and Cytohubba. We further validated the gene expression by using the other dataset and mouse UUO model. Results: A total of 315 shared DEGs between Con and UUO samples were identified. Gene function and KEGG pathway enrichment revealed that DEGs were mainly enriched in inflammatory response, immune system process, and chemokine signaling pathway. Two modules were clustered based on PPI network analysis. Module 1 contained 13 genes related to macrophage activation, migration, and chemotaxis. Ten hub genes were identified by PPI network analysis. Subsequently, the expression levels of hub genes were validated with the other dataset. Finally, these four validated hub genes were further confirmed by our UUO mice. Three validated hub genes, Gng2, Pf4, and Ccl9, showed significant response to UUO. Conclusion: Our study reveals the coordination of genes during UUO and provides a promising gene panel for CKD treatment. GNG2 and PF4 were identified as potential targets for developing CKD drugs. When solving the problem of the minimum cost consensus with asymmetric adjustment costs, decision makers need to face various uncertain situations (such as individual opinions and unit adjustment costs for opinion modifications in the up and down directions). However, in the existing methods for dealing with this problem, robust optimization will lead to overly conservative results, and stochastic programming needs to know the exact probability distribution. In order to overcome these shortcomings, it is essential to develop a novelty consensus model. Thus, we propose three new minimum-cost consensus models with a distributionally robust method. Uncertain parameters (individual opinions, unit adjustment costs for opinion modifications in the up and down directions, the degree of tolerance, and the range of thresholds) were investigated by modeling the three new models, respectively. In the distributionally robust method, the construction of an ambiguous set is very important. Based on the historical data information, we chose the Wasserstein ambiguous set with the Wasserstein distance in this study. Then, three new models were transformed into a second-order cone programming problem to simplify the calculations. Further, a case from the EU Trade and Animal Welfare (TAW) program policy consultation was used to verify the practicability of the proposed models. Introducing piezoelectric materials with the built-in electric field caused by mechanical force has been confirmed as an effective strategy to boost the separation efficiency of photoexcited charge carriers that determines the photocatalytic performance. In this study, we introduced Bi4Ti3O12 with superior piezoelectric properties into BiVO4–Bi4V2O10 materials to synthesize a 2D Bi4Ti3O12–BiVO4–Bi4V2O10 photocatalyst via a facile hydrothermal method. Compared with bare BiVO4, the Bi4Ti3O12–BiVO4–Bi4V2O10 piezo-photocatalytic activity towards Cr(VI) removal and oxygen evolution is boosted remarkably under both illumination and ultrasound treatments. The promoted photocatalytic activity can be ascribed to the accelerated photoexcited carrier separation efficiency driven by the polarization electric field and the synergy effect in the heterostructure. The vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) of CO2 in a reactive solvent is essential for the proper simulation and design of CO2 absorption processes. This work presents a systematic investigation on CO2 absorption in various aqueous monoethanolamine (MEA) solutions. CO2 solubility in MEA was measured at 298, 313, 333, and 353 K with CO2 partial pressure ranging from 34.5 to 78.0 kPa. A modified Kent-Eisenberg model was developed based on the measured solubility data, showing good predictions over the liquid phase speciation for the CO2-H2O-MEA system. We presented a new analysis based on the first-order difference curve of distribution profiles of the species. Based on the main reactions that occurred, the CO2 absorption process was demonstrated to be divided into four regions with increasing CO2 loading from 0 to 1. Accordingly, kinetic study was proposed to be conducted in the first region, whereas measuring of mass transfer in the first three regions. The findings in this work extend the existing knowledge of CO2 absorption process in terms of speciation and can provide important guidance for further study of the process characteristics using aqueous amine absorbents. In this study, a kW-grade air-cooled proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) stack with a dead-end anode (DEA) operation is designed and manufactured. The gravity-assisted drainage principle is applied for the stack to design the wettability of gas diffusion layers (GDLs) and the anode channel geometry, which can help the liquid water that diffuses to the anode to drain out of the anode porous electrode and move down the anode channel outlets. As a result, the stack can stably operate in a long purge interval of 268 s and in a short purge time of 2 s. In addition, using this design, only four small-power fans are employed to pump air to the cathode to provide oxygen for the electrochemical reaction and cool the stack. With a constant load current of 30, 45, or 60 A, the stack output voltage is experimentally tested at various cathode air flow rates (CAFRs). The local temperatures (60 measurement points) inside the stack and the pressure differences across anode channels are also monitored to understand heat dissipation and the back diffusion of liquid water. In a wide range of operating conditions, the designed stack possesses superior and stable voltage output characteristics with relatively uniform temperature distributions. The effect on the slag formation behavior in the softening melting zone of a hydrogen-rich blast furnace is investigated by charging iron coke to the iron ore and controlling different volume fractions of hydrogen. The reduction mechanism of iron coke to iron ore under hydrogen-rich conditions is expounded that iron coke and hydrogen increase the concentration of CO around iron ore and promote its further reduction. The participation of iron coke and hydrogen promotes that FeO is reduced to Fe in iron ore, which prompts the production of high melting point substances in slag. The melting point of slag iron increases the melting start temperature. Hydrogen and iron coke promote the carburization of dripping iron so that molten iron drips quickly, which narrows the melting drop interval. Summary: Hodgkin variant Richter transformation (HvRT) is a rare and challenging complication of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) for which information on prognostic factors and treatment approaches remain limited. We analysed characteristics and survival outcomes of a population‐based cohort of 32 patients with HvRT identified in British Columbia over a 40‐year period. Median interval from CLL diagnosis to HvRT was 5.6 years (range, 0–33.6), with five cases diagnosed concurrently. Most patients (80%) had treatment for CLL prior to HvRT. Median age at HvRT was 71 years (range, 51–86) and the majority of patients had high‐risk disease, including stage 3–4 in 87% and International Prognostic Score (IPS) ≥ 4 in 65%. Two‐year progression‐free (PFS) and overall survival (OS) from HvRT were 47% (95% CI: 29%–64%) and 57% (95% CI: 38%–72%), respectively. OS from HvRT was significantly worse in those with anaemia (p = 0.02), elevated lactate dehydrogenase (p = 0.04), high IPS (p = 0.04), and worse performance status (p = 0.001). For those treated with curative‐intent ABVD/ABVD‐like therapy, 2‐year PFS and OS were 70% (95% CI: 45%–85%) and 74% (95% CI: 49%–89%), respectively. In this real‐world population‐based cohort, HvRT was associated with poor clinical outcomes overall; however, those able to tolerate curative‐intent therapy had similar survival to older patients with de novo HL. KRAS has long been referred to as an 'undruggable' target due to its high affinity for its cognate ligands (GDP and GTP) and its lack of readily exploited allosteric binding pockets. Recent progress in the development of covalent inhibitors of KRASG12C has revealed that occupancy of an allosteric binding site located between the α3-helix and switch-II loop of KRASG12C—sometimes referred to as the 'switch-II pocket'—holds great potential in the design of direct inhibitors of KRASG12C. In studying diverse switch-II pocket binders during the development of sotorasib (AMG 510), the first FDA-approved inhibitor of KRASG12C, we found the dramatic conformational flexibility of the switch-II pocket posing significant challenges toward the structure-based design of inhibitors. Here, we present our computational approaches for dealing with receptor flexibility in the prediction of ligand binding pose and binding affinity. For binding pose prediction, we modified the covalent docking program CovDock to allow for protein conformational mobility. This new docking approach, termed as FlexCovDock, improves success rates from 55 to 89% for binding pose prediction on a dataset of 10 cross-docking cases and has been prospectively validated across diverse ligand chemotypes. For binding affinity prediction, we found standard free energy perturbation (FEP) methods could not adequately handle the significant conformational change of the switch-II loop. We developed a new computational strategy to accelerate conformational transitions through the use of targeted protein mutations. Using this methodology, the mean unsigned error (MUE) of binding affinity prediction were reduced from 1.44 to 0.89 kcal/mol on a set of 14 compounds. These approaches were of significant use in facilitating the structure-based design of KRASG12C inhibitors and are anticipated to be of further use in the design of covalent (and noncovalent) inhibitors of other conformationally labile protein targets. Glycans possess complex and unique stereochemical features, endowing them with distinguishing functions. An urgent need to develop a glycan sequencing method to elucidate the determine stereo diversity of glycan precisely. A currently promising approach is ion mobility mass spectrometry (IM-MS), which offers an additional dimension separation and collision cross section (CCS) value for the unambiguous identification of glycan isomers. This review highlights the evolution of IM-MS technologies to support comprehensive glycan analysis. Furthermore, the strategy and breakthroughs of glycan structure analysis based on IM-MS are discussed, and the CCS values of different glycans are summarized from relevant reports. We also envision the future of glycomics, including the development of glycan IM-MS library and the integration with artificial intelligence (AI) to truly unleash the capabilities of glycoscience. Revealing underlying mechanisms of IN718 superalloy's negative strain rate sensitivity behavior at elevated temperatures is significantly important for its further applications in extreme conditions. This work investigates the microstructural mechanisms of the temperature-dependent strain rate sensitivity using experimental methods and crystal plasticity characterization model. Firstly, Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques are utilized to observe microstructural characteristics of additively manufactured IN718 alloy at different temperatures. The influence of solute precipitation and dislocation slip interaction on the mechanical properties is discussed. Subsequently, the representative volume element (RVE) model is constructed by using acquired orientation, grain size, and dislocation density data. Finally, the crystal plasticity model incorporating dynamic strain aging and dislocation density evolution is developed to characterize the relationship between strain rate sensitivity and temperature. The model can effectively simulate the transition of strain rate sensitivity of additive manufacturing materials. The results indicate that the increase in dislocation pinning caused by intensified carbon element precipitation at high temperatures is the primary reason of the strain rate sensitivity change observed in IN718 metal materials. The carbon precipitated at the dislocation nucleus induces serration flow in IN718 superalloy under high strain. In this paper, the melamine-formed nitrogen-doped carbon (NC) material is blended with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to eventually form the composite material NC/CNT, which is coated on the separator to inhibit shuttle effects. The intertwined structure of NC/CNT forms a continuous conductive network, providing a fast transmission channel for Li+/e-. Additionally, NC/CNT effectively enhances the redox reaction kinetics and inhibits the shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides. Consequently, the cells incorporating NC/CNT exhibit excellent electrochemical performance, boasting a high reversible capacity of 611.5 mAh/g at 2C after 400 cycles, with a capacity decay rate of only 0.07%.
