Organosulfur-based polymers have unique properties that make them useful for targeted and managed drug delivery, which can improve therapy while reducing side effects. This work aims to provide a brief review of the synthesis strategies, characterization techniques, and packages of organosulfur-based polymers in drug delivery. More importantly, this work discusses the characterization, biocompatibility, controlled release, nanotechnology, and targeted therapeutic aspects of these important structural units. This review provides not only a good comprehension of organosulfur-based polymers but also an insightful discussion of potential future prospectives in research. The discovery of novel organosulfur polymers and innovations is highly expected to be stimulated in order to synthesize polymer prototypes with increased functional accuracy, efficiency, and low cost for many industrial applications. We have developed a diversity‐oriented, substrate‐controlled, chemoselective synthetic method for a variety of structurally diverse 1‐sulfonylquinazoline‐2,4(1H,3H)‐diones and 2‐sulfonamidobenzonitriles. This substrate‐controlled synthesis is accomplished through the condensation reaction of 2‐(sulfonamido)benzamides with or without an N‐methyl group on the amides. The reactions are fulfilled within half an hour at room temperature with solid triphosgene as a convenient condensing agent and pyridine as an acid acceptor. In recent years, there has been a notable surge in the prominence of enantioenriched sulfur(VI) compounds within the chemical science, particularly in the realm of bioactive molecules. However, the synthesis of these enantioenriched sulfur(VI) compounds has posed significant challenges, necessitating the exploration of diverse synthetic methods. Accordingly, this review aims to provide an in‐depth analysis of the latest advancements in the synthesis of sulfoximines, sulfonimidate esters, sulfonimidamides, and sulfonimidoyl halides, with a focus on developments since 1971. Based on the Hard-Soft-Acid-Base theory, we developed and synthesized a unique crystalline adsorbent called MIL-101(Cr)-SMA-ED-PMG (SMA: styrene maleic anhydride; ED: ethylenediamine; PMG: N,N -di(phosphonomethyl)glycine). This adsorbent consists of polymer chains that are abundant in carboxyl and phosphate Lewis hard base groups. This was performed to enhance the efficient recuperation of electrophilic Lewis hard acid rare earth elements. The Neodymium(III) (Nd3+) and Europium(III) (Eu3+) ions reached adsorption equilibrium in the MIL-101(Cr)-SMA-ED-PMG material after 6 h at pH 5. The adsorption of Nd3+ and Eu3+ follows the pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir models. The maximum adsorption capabilities were 102.7 mg/g for Nd3+ and 110.4 mg/g for Eu3+. In addition, when applying a concentration of 0.3 mol/L of HNO 3 or HCl, the adsorbent was nearly completely desorbed, and it remained stable for five cycles. The order of adsorption for the different REE ions was as follows: Eu3+ > Nd3+ > Ce3+ > La3+. The MIL-101(Cr)-SMA-ED-PMG compound demonstrated a remarkable 84 % selectivity in adsorbing Eu3+ compared to the other metal ions in the mixture (Na+, Mg2+, Co2+, Ni2+, and Zn2+). Furthermore, the adsorption of Eu3+ was not significantly influenced by changes in the aqueous conditions. The experiment conducted on a zinc ore simulated leachate exhibited the material remarkable capacity for Eu3+ separation and enrichment. Background: Cervical cancer is an important global health problem. In this study we aimed to analyze trends in cervical cancer at the global, regional, and national levels from 1990 to 2019, to inform health service decision-making.Methods: Data on cervical cancer was extracted from the Global Burden of Disease study, 2019. Trends in cervical cancer burden were assessed based on estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) and age-standardized rate (ASR).Results: Globally, decreasing trends were observed in incidence, death, and disability adjusted life years (DALYs) of cervical cancer from 1990 to 2019, with respective EAPCs of - 0.38 (95% confidence interval [CI]: - 0.41 to - 0.34), - 0.93 (95%CI: - 0.98 to - 0.88), and - 0.95 (95 CI%: - 1.00 to - 0.90). Meanwhile, decreasing trends were detected in most sociodemographic index (SDI) areas and geographic regions, particularly death and DALYs in Central Latin America, with respective EAPCs of - 2.61 (95% CI: - 2.76 to - 2.46) and - 2.48 (95% CI: - 2.63 to - 2.32); hhowever, a pronounced increasing trend in incidence occurred in East Asia (EAPC = 1.33; 95% CI: 1.12 to 1.55). At the national level, decreasing trends in cervical cancer were observed in most countries/territories, particularly DALYs in the Maldives (EAPC = - 5.06; 95% CI: - 5.40 to - 4.72), Whereas increasing trends were detected in Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and Bulgaria.Conclusions: Slowly decreasing trends in cervical cancer were detected worldwide from 1990 to 2019. The design and development of low-cost, abundant reserves, high catalytic activity and durability bifunctional electrocatalysts for water splitting are of great significance. Here, simple hydrothermal and hydrogen reduction methods were used to fabricate a uniform distribution of Fe-doped MoO 2 /MoO 3 sheets with abundant oxygen vacancies and heterojunctions on etched nickel foam (ENF). The Fe– MoO 2 /MoO 3 /ENF exhibited a small overpotential of 36 mV at 10 mA cm−2 for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), an excellent oxygen evolution reaction (OER) overpotential of 310 mV at 100 mA cm−2 and outstanding stabilities of 95 h and 120 h for the HER and OER, respectively. As both cathode and anode catalysts, the heterogeneously structured Fe– MoO 2 /MoO 3 /ENF required a low cell voltage of 1.57 V at 10 mA cm−2. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations show that Fe doping and MoO 2 /MoO 3 heterojunctions can significantly reduce the band gap of the electrode, accelerate electron transport and reduce the potential barrier for water splitting. This work provides a new approach for designing metal ion doping and heterostructure formation that may be adapted to transition metal oxides for water splitting. Chiral organoselenium compounds have shown an important role as intermediates in many areas, such as drug discovery, organic catalysis, and nanomaterials. A lot of different methods have been developed to synthesize chiral compounds which contain selenium, because they have interesting properties and can be used in real life. Over the last few decades, a lot of progress has been made in synthesizing chiral organoselenium compounds. This work gives an overview of the progress made in creating new ways to synthesize chiral organoselenium compounds by categorizing them into groups based on the reactions they undergo. The binding interaction of niraparib (MK-4827), a poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitor, with calf thymus deoxyribonucleic acid (ctDNA) has been explored by various theoretical and experimental techniques. Molecular docking models predicted that all the binding conformations of MK-4827 interaction with DNA are clustered into two types: one intercalates into the middle part of the DNA composed of A–T base pairs, and the other one binds with the bottom part of the DNA composed of C–G base pairs. Molecular dynamics simulations further concluded that MK-4827 could steadily intercalate the A–T base pairs of the DNA structure, and the hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic forces help maintain this combination. Fluorescence titration of MK-4827 by ctDNA indicated that the interaction involves static quenching, which resulted from the temperature dependence of the MK-4827–ctDNA complex and was further verified by fluorescence lifetime experiments. Iodide quenching, DNA melting, viscosity and fluorescence competitive experiments with two known intercalative binders confirmed that intercalation is the main DNA binding mode for MK-4827 and has certain influence on the conformation of the ctDNA as indicated by CD. Abstract Chiral sulfinamides are increasingly recognizedfor their extensive potential applications in chemistry, medicine and material science, yet chromatographic study on these compounds is seldom. In this article, we describe the enantioseparation of twelve closely related chiral sulfinamide derivatives on polysaccharide-based chiral stationary phases (CSPs). We investigated the factors affecting separation, such as the types of chiral columns, the concentration of polar alcohol and the column temperature. The acyclic sulfinamide derivatives—with the exception of a cyclic sulfinamide compound—were effectively resolved with a Chiralcel OD-H column and a mixture of n-hexane:isopropyl alcohol (90:10) as the mobile phase. All compounds except N-benzylidene-2-methylpropane-2-sulfinamide are baseline resolved on the Chiralpak AD-H column, but only eight compounds are resolved on a Chiralpak AS-H column under the given chromatographic conditions. Chiral sulfoximines have significant roles in pharmaceutical industry and agricultural chemicals. Furthermore, chiral structurally related sulfoximines are used for their wide potential applications in some uncharted territory. However, chromatographic study on these compounds has not been systematically performed. Herein, this paper describes the enantioseparation of 12 chiral sulfoximines on polysaccharide-based chiral stationary phases (CSPs). Separation factors of chiral column, high-performance liquid chromatography parameters such as mobile phase composition and column temperature were carefully investigated. Chiralcel OJ-H column can resolve all of the 12 compounds, while Chiralpak AD-H column and Chiralpak AS-H column can separate eight and nine molecules, respectively. Samarium (Sm), as one of the lanthanide elements, has a broad application prospect in the synthesis of samarium cobalt permanent magnet materials with high temperature stability, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. Due to the unlimited demand of Sm(III), recycling of Sm(III) waste is an effective method to balance economy and supply. In this paper, three novel morpholine carboxylic acid ionic liquids (ILs) were rationally designed and successfully synthesized for the extraction of Sm(III). The effects of alkyl chain length of the ionic liquids, solution acidity, contact time, extractant concentration and temperature were tested in terms of the extraction performances. The results revealed that [(CH 2) 7 COOHmor][NTf 2 ] had the optimal extraction capacity, as well as the extraction efficiency of Sm increased with the increase of pH, reaching >99.9% when the pH was 1.8. In addition, the extraction equilibrium could be achieved within 1 min. Moreover, the slope analysis and FTIR spectral studies proposed a cation exchange extraction mechanism for Sm(III) by [(CH 2) 7 COOHmor][NTf 2 ]. The loaded Sm(III) in organic phase was easy to strip with 0.05 mol/L of HNO 3 , and the [(CH 2) 7 COOHmor][NTf 2 ] remained stable after 5 cycles. The research of transition metal extraction revealed that Sm(III) could be selectively separated from Ni(II) and Co(II) by adjusting the pH value of the solution. A white light/iodosuccinimide (NIS)‐promoted three component reaction of alkenes, N‐sulfonylhydrazones, and diorganyl diselenides for synthesis of organylselenylethyl sulfonylhydrazones under air is disclosed. This intermolecular aminoselenylation of alkenes using N‐tosylhydrazones as nitrogen source was performed under mild conditions and well tolerated for common groups. In addition, heteroaryl and aliphatic diselenides also gave the target compounds. Gram‐scale reaction also carried out smoothly. This protocol has a wide range of substrates and affords moderate to high yields and excellent regioselectivities. The photoactive intermediates from the interaction between NIS and diphenyl diselenide was detected by UV‐visible absorption spectra, which matches the wavelength of the applied white LED. Sulfoximines, a ubiquitous class of structural motifs, are widely present in bioactive molecules and functional materials that have received considerable attention from modern organic chemistry, pharmaceutical industries, and materials science. Sulfoximines have proved to be an effective directing group for C–H functionalization which was widely investigated for the synthesis of cyclic sulfoximines. Within the last decade, great progress has been achieved in the synthesis of cyclic sulfoximines. N‐Sulfenylation of sulfoximines with thiosulfonates under mild conditions was disclosed. By our method, a series of aliphatic and aromatic N‐sulfenyl sulfoximines were synthesized with good to excellent yields in the absence of transition metals. Abstract: Sulfoxides are extensively used in chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Various catalytically synthetic methods were reported, but in common 1–10(mol)% catalyst loading were demanded. Sulfide oxidation catalyzed by vanadyl complexes of N-salicylidene α-amino acids with catalyst loading as low as 0.03(mol)% gave high yields at room temperature with aqueous hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant, which is a green, solvent-free, energy-saving and easy-operated protocol. In contrast, vanadyl complexes of N-salicylidene amino alcohols could not, even at 0.1(mol)%. The possible reason is that the stronger acidity of N-salicylidene α-amino acids makes their vanadyl complexes stable to aqueous hydrogen peroxide. The axially chiral monophosphine 2-(diphenylphosphino)-2'-methoxy-1,1'-binaphthyl (MeO-MOP) is a versatile ligand. We report a shorter (four steps from chiral BINOL), more atom-economical synthetic route to MeO-MOP. (R)-BINOL is transformed into its monomethyl ether by the Mitsunobu reaction, and the latter is reacted with triflic anhydride to give its triflate. The C-P coupling of the triflate and diphenylphosphine oxide catalyzed by palladium give a phosphine oxide, the precursor of (R)-MeO-MOP, which is reduced with trichlorosilane to furnish (R)-MeO-MOP. Abstract: The enantioselective oxidation of allyl sulfides with a vanadyl complex of 3,5-diiodosalicylidene tert-leucinol as a catalyst and aqueous hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant afforded chiral allyl sulfoxides with high enantioselectivities of up to 97.3% ee and moderate yields. Mild and efficient procedures have been developed for synthesis of 1,8-naphthalide and 1,8-naphthalenedimethanol. In an ice-water bath, 1,8-naphthalide was prepared from 1,8-naphthlic anhydride using LiAlH4 as reducing agent. 1,8-Naphthalenedimethanol was obtained with good yield from reduction of 1,8-naphthalic anhydride by LiAlH4 and Lewis acids at room temperature. H8-MonoPhos, a new stable and readily soluble monodentate phosphoramidite ligand, has been facilely prepared from H8-BINOL. The ligand achieved up to 99.9% ee and 96.7% ee in hydrogenation of dehydroalanine and dehydrohomophenylalanine in a S/C ratio of 500:1, respectively, which are among the best results to date. For dehydrophenylalanine derivatives, it gave good to excellent enantioselectivity. Some factors controlling the enantioselectivity and conversion were examined and are discussed. Objective: To compare the outcomes of totally percutaneous in situ microneedle puncture for left subclavian artery (LSA) fenestration (ISMF) and chimney technique in type B aortic dissection (TBAD) during thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR).Data on patients who underwent either chimney–TEVAR (n = 89) or ISMF–TEVAR (n = 113) from October 2018 to April 2022 were analyzed retrospectively. The primary outcomes were mortality and major complications at 30 days and during follow-up.The technical success rate was 84.3% in the chimney group and 93.8% in the ISMF group (p = 0.027). The incidence of immediate endoleakage was significantly higher in the chimney than ISMF group (15.7% vs 6.2%, respectively; p = 0.027). The 1- and 3-year survival rates in the chimney and ISMF groups were 98.9% ± 1.1% vs 98.1% ± 0.9% and 86.5% ± 6.3% vs 92.6% ± 4.1%, respectively (log-rank p = 0.715). The 3-year rate of cumulative freedom from branch occlusion in the chimney and ISMF group was 95.4% ± 2.3% vs 100%, respectively (log-rank p = 0.023).Both ISMF–TEVAR and chimney–TEVAR achieved satisfactory short- and mid-term outcomes for the preservation of the LSA in patients with TBAD. ISMF–TEVAR appears to offer better clinical outcomes with higher patency and lower reintervention rates. In-vitro assessment of the binding properties of MK-0457, a novel Aurora kinase inhibitor, with human serum albumin: computer simulations in combination with multi-spectroscopic, esterase activity and microscopic studies. • MK-0457 bound to site 2 via vander Waals and hydrogen bonds. • Multispectroscopic comfirmed the binding was initiated by static quenching type. • MK-0457 could perturb the helicity of HSA and induce its conformational changes. • The esterase activity of HSA was decreased upon MK-0457 binding. • The morphology of HSA changed induced by interactions with MK-0457. MK-0457, a new pan-aurora kinase inhibitor, is in Phase II clinical development for the treatment of multiple tumor types and hematologic malignancies. The present work explored the dynamic behaviors and interaction mechanism of MK-0457 to human serum albumin (HSA) and the effect on the esterase-like activity and conformation of HSA by computer simulations and experiments. Docking and molecular dynamics trajectory analysis indicated that MK-0457 stably bound to Sudlow's site 2 of HSA by multiple types of interaction forces. Competitive experiments further verified MK-0457 was bound at first to Sudlow's site 2 and then the excess of drug was bound to Sudlow's site 1. The steady-state fluorescence combined with ultraviolet–visible absorption and fluorescence lifetime measurements specified a static quenching mechanism with association constants of 104 M−1 reflecting moderate binding affinity of MK-0457 for HSA. The analysis of R g values showed that the structure of HSA became loose due to MK-0457 binding, inducing slight conformational changes of HSA, which was consistent with the results obtained from circular dichroism, synchronous, and 3D fluorescence spectroscopy. The esterase-like activity of HSA showed that MK-0457 inhibits the catalytic activity of subdomain IIIA of HSA by binding to the vital residues TYR411. Atomic force microscopy images indicated that MK-0457 affects the molecular sizes of HSA by transforming the morphology of HSA from aggregation diploids to small monomers. This study is beneficial for understanding the biological action of MK-0457, providing additional information about the feasibility of its transport and accumulation in blood plasma. H8-MonoPhos, a new stable and easily prepared monodentate phosphoramidite ligand, has been synthesized from H8-BINOL. The ligand showed extremely highly enantioselectivity of higher than 99.9% e.e. in the asymmetric Rh-catalyzed hydrogenation of α-dehydroamino acids. A three‐component reaction involving alkenes, N‐sulfonylhydrazones, and N‐bromosuccinimide (NBS) is described that uses Indium(III) triflate for the synthesis of bromoethyl sulfonyl hydrazones. Using N‐tosylhydrazones as a nitrogen source and NBS as a bromine source, this intermolecular aminobromination of alkenes is carried out under air in mild conditions. A three‐component reaction of olefins, indoles, and diaryl diselenides catalyzed by copper chloride under irradiation of blue LED light is disclosed. Various diaryl diselenides including diheteroaryl diselenides are suitable for this bifunctionalization of olefins. This protocol provides 26 examples of β‐(hetero)arylselenyl indoles in 60%–87% yields. The proposed mechanism involves activation of diaryl diselenides by coordination with copper chloride, generation of arylselenium cations by heterolysis of activated diaryl diselenides, electrophilic addition of arylselenium cations to styrenes, and then Friedel–Crafts‐type alkylation at the 3‐position of NH‐indoles. A C 2 -symmetric, chiral bis-cyclosulfinamide-olefin ligand composed of two 1-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1,2-benzisothiazole moieties with rigid skeletons and a conformationally flexible butenylene chain is disclosed for the first time. HRMS and 1 H NMR analyses verify that the in situ-generated complex of the ligand and [Rh(C 2 H 4 ) 2 Cl] 2 possesses a rhodium (I) center coordinated to the tridentate ligand via two sulfinyl moieties and a CdbndC bond. The chiral ligand provided extremely high enantioselectivity (up to >99%ee) in the Rh-catalyzed asymmetric 1,4-additions of arylboronic acids to cyclohexenone and cyclopentenone. Pedunculated hepatocellular carcinoma (P‑HCC) is a rare type of HCC, defined as a carcinoma protruding from the liver with or without a pedicle with a low degree of liver invasion. The present study aimed to evaluate the characteristics of blood supply of P‑HCC prior to and following transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) treatment. Angiographic findings prior to and following TACE treatment in 39 patients with P‑HCC were analyzed retrospectively. Angiography performed at the first TACE session revealed 70 tumor‑feeding arteries collectively in all patients, including 31/70 (44.0%) extrahepatic parasitic arteries in 23/39 patients (59.0%). The intrahepatic arteries served as the main blood supply to P‑HCC in all patients. Extrahepatic collateral blood supplies to P‑HCCs were significantly associated with larger tumor diameter (χ2=164.000, P<0.001), but not tumor location (χ2=7.358, P=0.061). Following repeated TACE treatment, all angiographies revealed a total of 131 tumor feeding arteries collectively in all patients, including intrahepatic arteries (54/131) and extrahepatic collateral arteries (78/131) in 31 patients (79.5%). Compared with angiographies performed at the initial TACE treatment, these results also demonstrated an increase in the number of extrahepatic collateral arteries, which produced 47 new blood vessels (χ2=4.278, P=0.039). P‑HCC tumor lesions readily acquired a parasitic blood supply from adjacent vessels following repeated TACE. Intrahepatic arteries functioned as the main blood supply for P‑HCC, whereas extrahepatic collateral arteries were complementary to P‑HCC, regardless of whether the patient was pre‑ or post‑TACE. Extrahepatic collateral supplies to P‑HCCs that originated from adjacent vessels were rich, were closely associated with tumor size, and were prone to be newly established following repeated TACE. Aromatic aldehyde‐derived N‐tosylhydrazones produced terminal and internal N‐allylated products, in which the terminal products are the main. N-Aryl-α-amino amides including their chiral isomers have demonstrated important applications as pharmaceutical drugs; however, to date, a one-step synthetic route for them still remains to be developed. Herein, an efficient ligand-free copper-catalyzed selective C–N coupling reaction of diaryliodonium salts and dinucleophiles under mild conditions was realized. Diaryliodonium salts prefer to react with dinucleophiles at the site of stronger alkalic amino groups. Thus, a general aliphatic amino-selective N-arylation of α-amino amides was disclosed. Highly efficient adsorbents, which can effectively remove both metal ions and dyes from wastewater with robust stability, are strongly required for the remediation of current polluted aqueous system, but still a challenge to be realized. Herein, a new adsorbent has been designed to solve this problem by anchoring diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA) grafted polyethyleneimine (PEI) onto carboxylated GO (GOC-g-PD). Given the amino and carboxyl active groups from PEI and GOC/DTPA, our GOC-g-PD displays good adsorption capacity against not only inorganic metal ions (Cu2+ and Pb2+) but also organic dye (methylene blue: MB). The maximum adsorption capacity of GOC-g-PD for Cu2+, Pb2+ and MB reached 309.60 mg·g−1, 316.17 mg·g−1 and 262.10 mg·g−1, respectively. Furthermore, our GOC-g-PD also exhibits good cycling stability and chemical stability against wide pH values. In the presence of catalytic amounts of molecular iodine and stoichiometric potassium persulfate, a green, highly chemoselective, regioselective and cis-selective radical isothiocyano-chalcogenization of alkenes with NH4SCN in water is disclosed. This three component reaction features high selectivities, an environmentally benign process, mild conditions, high yields, excellent functional-group tolerance, and broad substrate scope.
