CHIEF executive officers , *DIGITAL communications , *EXECUTIVES , *ORIGINALITY , *QUANTITATIVE research - Abstract
This study investigates the posting strategies of CEOs of Latin American companies on LinkedIn and their impact on engagement. It examines activity levels and types of presence, and engagement rates. Based on a quantitative analysis, the results reveal that executives in this region have a significantly lower frequency of posting on LinkedIn compared to the averages recommended by experts. Regarding the type of presence, CEOs are “content creators” and mainly post their own content. The engagement analysis shows discrepancies between own and hybrid posts. Due to the originality of own content, it receives better engagement rates than hybrid posts. The findings reveal that most Latin American CEOs adopt a “passive funnel” posting strategy on LinkedIn, which is characterized by low activity and own content. It is striking that CEOs with a more passive approach tend to have higher engagement rates compared to those with a more active approach. From these findings it is clear that, although authentic content generates interaction, CEOs should take advantage of the potential of shared publications, which are characterized by fostering dialogue based on content with diverse perspectives, a particular feature of the actors and institutions of the business environment. This research assesses the potential of CEOs as institutional communicators and provides methodological guidelines for academics and professionals in charge of the publication strategies of organizations and managers in the region. - Abstract
The objective of this research is to propose a strategic planning model for the growth of professional, scientific, and technical services microenterprises in Mexico. A methodology was applied under the quantitative paradigm with a nonexperimental cross-correlational research design to a sample of 174 managers. The findings expose nine weakly associated factor loads in relation to what is stated in the literature, showing a configuration of the model that is different from being applied in practice. The main findings of this research is the development of a conceptual model integrated by: philosophy, long, medium, and short-term objectives, policies, strategies, rules, procedures, programs, and budgets, linked by strategic, tactical, and operational control to the companies under study. BUSINESS planning , *SCIENTIFIC literature , *VALUE chains , *BUSINESS models , *BLOCKCHAINS - Abstract
In today's increasingly competitive and dynamic business environment, the ability to adapt and innovate is the key to long-term success. In this context, well-defined business models not only function as compasses for companies or ventures toward profitability, but they are also tools that allow them to face the complexities of the market. Although frameworks have been proposed to guide the construction of these models, such as the traditional Canvas, a gap has been found in the scientific literature about the integration of this Canvas with industry-specific tools. This lack of integration can limit the effectiveness of business strategies and hinder the ability of companies to make the most of their potential. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to address this gap by adapting a method that allows a deep integration between a tool of the sector, in this case, the various stages of the industrial value chain with the blocks of the traditional Canvas model. To this end, the cross-analysis method was adapted, which eased the generation of a practical guide for the creation of business models that not only consider the intrinsic characteristics of the business but also the particularities of the industry in which they use. This guidance was applied to a venture focused on the commercialization of bio packaging made from cocoa waste and the results revealed key symbiotic relationships between the value proposition and all links in the industrial value chain, as well as the tactical integration of strategic collaborations at multiple stages of the value chain to ensure the operational viability of the business. It was also found that this integration can offer valuable insights for strategic planning and business strategy formulation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CREATIVE thinking , *PROBLEM solving , *LARGE-scale brain networks , *HUMAN capital , *CREATIVE ability , *ANALYTICAL skills , *CRITICAL thinking - Abstract
Creativity is a fundamental competence in daily life learning; it allows people to be able to generate new ideas, form new brain networks or connections related to originality and innovation, solve problems through unthinkable solutions, and adapt assertively to the change that we face every day. In education, mainly at higher levels, it helps students to understand and apply their knowledge in different circumstances, develop their critical and analytical thinking, be autonomous, self-sufficient, adaptable and resilient. Especially when they are about to become professionals dedicated to the care of such an important asset in a company, as is the human capital. The following work not only seeks to highlight the importance of creativity, but also to begin to understand it. From its implications and scope and to understand how it is applied in companies and in the world. Also, it helps to solve problems and improve processes of adaptation and evolution. At the same time, it seeks to demonstrate the change in students from a logical thinking to a creative. This process use techniques as theoretical knowledge, dynamics, case studies, exercises and practical application in an organization. At the end, the analysis and conclusions reached during the process and at the end are presented, in order to form their own opinion and implement the necessary changes, with the objective of facing the challenges of the current environment. HUMAN rights , *IMPUNITY , *SOCIAL responsibility of business , *LEADERSHIP , *DISCOURSE - Abstract
This article aimed to discuss the approval of the 'National Framework on Human Rights and Business' law in Brazil, which takes a binding approach to establish the foundations for effective corporate responsibility regarding activities that violate human rights. The research employed the historical-dialectical method and the theoretical framework of Gonzalo Berrón's architecture of impunity studies. The article was structured into three sections corresponding to the pillars of shifting from a voluntary to a binding approach: subjective, objective, and substantive. The conclusions pointed out that the approval of Bill No. 572/2022 represents a milestone in ending the architecture of corporate impunity, positioning Brazil and Latin America in a leadership role, without waiting for wealthy countries to capitalize on and monopolize the discourse on human rights. This study analyzes the role of fictitious capital in the titles of ownership of extractive companies in the context of extractivism, a function inherent to capitalism. As a source of external financing, these titles influence corporate management by prioritizing shareholder returns. The study also examines how this financing impacts extractive activities in peripheral countries, where the composition of capital reflects a short-term commitment to shareholders, affecting the pace of production and the search for future returns. It further explores the implications of finance on the organization of the extractive sector and its influence on the structure of dependent capitalism in peripheral countries within the framework of financialized capitalism.

In the past decades, intangibles assets have become an important source of productivity and economic growth in developed countries. Despite the transforming properties of intangibles across economies and the large and dynamic literature on the impact of intangible investments on productivity growth in frontier countries, there is not much evidence for the Latin America context. This paper contributes to the empirical literature on intangible investments along various dimensions. First, we make use of a large firm-level longitudinal data set from Peru, a Latin America middle income country, which contains separated information on intangible assets, which allow us to measure the impact of them on both wages and productivity at the firm level. Second, the analysis at the firm level and the panel structure of the data allows us to control for the endogeneity of variable inputs applying different control function approaches. In addition, the production function estimates provide us with a measure of unobservables, which we include in the wage equation to retrieve consistent estimates for the impact of intangible assets on wages. Third, our data allow us to explore how the impact of intangibles on wages and productivity is affected by the differences in the composition of the bundle of intangibles, changes in the product mix at the firm level and for the presence of imperfect competition in the labor market. We find that an increase in the share of intangible assets by one standard deviation is associated with 6.8% to 7.2% higher total factor productivity, depending on the model's specification. We also find that the capital productivity premium of intangible assets over tangible ones is substantial with estimates suggesting that intangibles are up to 2 times more productive than tangible assets. We also find that this capital productivity premium is not entirely offset by an increase in wages. Finally, we conclude that the main channels for appropriability are the specificity of the ideas generated by intangible investments at the firm level and the wage compression due to imperfect competition in the labor market. The theoretical and practical search to articulate efficiency and justice has history and present relevance. The objective of this paper is a theoretical dialogue between D. C. North and A. MacIntyre to articulate efficiency and justice across institutions. This articulation has –as its broader horizon– an interdisciplinary approach to the relationship between economic theory and ethics. From economic science, as an alternative to the concept of Paretian efficiency, North speaks of adaptive efficiency: institutions – understood as rules of human interaction – seek to be efficient in a process of adaptation over time. From ethics, MacIntyre contributes from an Aristotelian-Thomistic vision of distributive justice. MacIntyre recognizes that institutions are necessary for practices in communities but warns of the danger of institutional corruption. A place for this articulation is companies –organizations for North– where adaptive efficiency can occur if institutions –rules for human interaction– decentralize decision-making, specify contracts and property rights well. Companies, understood by MacIntyre as workplaces, are institutions that pursue common goods and that support the practices of these communities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

INDUSTRIALIZATION , *FOREIGN investments , *HUMAN capital - Abstract
This work aims to analyze the outstanding role that foreign capital, companies and entrepreneurs had in promoting the industrialization process in the city of Querétaro (Mexico) and its metropolitan area, which includes the municipalities of Corregidora, El Marqués and Colón, among 1943-2018, within the framework of a historical period in which two economic models were developed: Import Substitution Industrialization (ISI) and neoliberalism. The main axis is the importance of foreign investments, understood as foreign companies and private Mexican business groups, for the implementation of said industrial development over more than seven decades, as well as investigating the types and industrialization processes that occurred in that period and their relationships with socio-technical and work areas. It is suggested as a hypothesis that said industrialization process can be defined as artificial and exogenous. First, because there was no local business community to carry out this process, as happened in other cities in Mexico -such as Monterrey-, and exogenous because, through national capital from other regions of the country, and especially from abroad, it was carried out the industrialization of the city. From the above, a process of dependent industrialization emerges, inserted in the periphery that has limited endogenous capacity in technological terms, but also in labor terms, a situation that has tended to worsen in the 1980s and that has continued its course to the present.

Science has progressed rapidly, corresponding with artificial intelligence (AI) allowing machines to emulate human thinking. However, they are still far from being able to handle complex administrative tasks, specialists agree that AI will change the way we manage and lead people in the future. This research work aims to analyze the impact of artificial intelligence on the administrative development of the modern company. It is a quantitative study, which used a descriptive and cross-sectional cohort methodology; Among the theoretical methods used to carry out the bibliographic review on the topic are: historical-logical, analysissynthesis, inductive-deductive. It is based on an updated review of the literature and 108 entrepreneurs, employees and business owners were surveyed. As a result of the surveys carried out, it was identified that there is ignorance, uncertainty, and interests related to the implementation of AI, which has the potential to transform business administration, but its adoption must be careful, considered and managed to take advantage of its benefits and mitigate their risks in a globalized world. These results highlight the varied perceptions about the impact of AI on companies that can be useful in the efficiency of business management, as well as perceptions about its future impact. - Abstract
The study investigated the relevance of sustainable practices for the productivity of companies in the Southern Region of Brazil participating in the Brazil More Productivity Program. Its main objective was to identify this importance attributed by companies by analyzing data from businesses in the sectors of commerce, services, industry, agriculture, and construction, considering the period from July 2022 to June 2023. Has a predominantly quantitative approach, applied nature, descriptive regarding objectives, and survey in relation to procedures. Internal managerial data from Sebrae were analyzed using the Innovation Radar tool to measure the innovation maturity of companies and its relationship with sustainable practices. Indicates an evolution in innovation indicators, managerial controls, and sustainable practices, albeit with low prioritization of the latter. Significant increases in productivity were associated with the reduction of variable costs and revenue growth, although sectors still face challenges in this regard. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Using a feminist institutional approach, we examine the dominant institutional views and frameworks explaining company positions regarding the implementation of gender policies. A multiple case study was performed on four Spanish companies involved in sectors related to the circular bioeconomy. The analysis relied on secondary sources and semi-structured interviews with women in positions of responsibility in these companies. The results provide evidence on the gender issues encountered and their limitations in terms of organizational change, as well as the dominant institutional frameworks of the companies. The findings suggest that the main drivers for change are intense state regulation, company commitment to formalizing measures and the presence of critical actors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
