AbstractStunting, a consequence of chronic malnutrition, has detrimental effects on child development. This qualitative study explores socio-cultural factors and family practices related to stunting prevention in food-insecure areas of West Timor, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, and observations with mothers (n = 20), healthcare workers, officials, traditional figures, and religious leaders. Identified parenting practices spanned childcare, immunization, hygiene, sick child care, and feeding. Support for pregnant and postpartum mothers was crucial. Socio-cultural influences emerged in three themes: child food intake, care during pregnancy, and maternal care after childbirth. This study underscores the combined impact of food insecurity and socio-cultural factors on stunting. Culturally sensitive interventions addressing food availability and these practices are essential for effective stunting prevention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose of Review: Pregnancy-induced preeclampsia is a severe pregnancy complication and preeclampsia has been associated with an increased risk of chronic hypertension for offspring. However, the magnitude of the overall effect of exposure to preeclampsia in pregnancy on blood pressure (BP) in offspring is unknown. This systematic review and meta-analysis was sought to systematically assess the effects of preeclampsia on the BP of the offspring. Recent Findings: Of 2550 publications identified, 23 studies were included. The meta-analysis indicated that preeclampsia increases the potential risk of hypertension in offspring. Systolic blood pressure (SBP) was 2.0 mm Hg (95% CI: 1.2, 2.8) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) was 1.4 mm Hg (95% CI: 0.9, 1.9) higher in offspring exposed to pre-eclampsia in utero, compared to those born to normotensive mothers. The correlations were similar in stratified analyses of children and adolescents by sex, geographic area, ages, and gestational age. Summary: During childhood and young adulthood, the offspring of pregnant women with preeclampsia are at an increased risk of high BP. It is crucial to monitor their BP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Com toda a certeza, o estudo das propriedades do triângulo e seus elementos, desempenha papel preponderante no estudo da geometria plana, também conhecida como geometria sintética. A partir deste estudo, por exemplo, o cálculo da área de outras figuras, tais como paralelogramo e trapézio, dentre outros, decorre de forma bastante natural, pois, em geral, podemos decompor tal figura plana em triângulos, somando as respectivas áreas a fim de obter a área da figura em questão. Aqui, neste trabalho, apresenta-se e discute-se uma relação entre a área de um triângulo e a área de seu correspondente triângulo cujos lados são o inverso das alturas do triângulo. Mostra-se que o produto dessas duas áreas é uma constante numérica, um resultado bastante interessante e aparentemente novo. Casos particulares são discutidos.

Educommunication is a field of social intervention that operates at the interface between education and communication. It emerges as an area with potential strengths, as it is crossed by the ways of doing things and offering meanings from these two fields of knowledge for social action in the world. It has principles and areas of intervention which, due to the very dynamism of the field, periodically require revision. The aim of this article is to present a review of the assumptions that guide the Educommunication field at this time in history. The approach is bibliographical and documental. It starts with the theoretical contributions already established in the field, to which reflections are added. As a result, it is proposed to rework its objectives and actions, principles and areas of intervention of Educommunication. In order to contribute to the epistemological reflection of the field of Educommunication, the reworking resulted in eight objectives, five principles and six areas of intervention. In all countries, cities and their suburbs are the most densely populated areas. They are also the places visited by the largest number of tourists and one-day visitors, who inevitably run the risk of becoming victims of crime. It is, therefore, important, not only at national but also at the international level, to know the structure of urban crime and identify urban areas that differ in terms of their criminogenic situation. This requires a geographical approach and regionalisation based on the quantitative data that can offer it. This paper presents the results of a study using big data regarding violent crime, property crime and infringements against public order registered by the police in 2020 in the territories of three major Lithuanian cities and their suburbs (n = 149,239). Events in open spaces were separately addressed. A series of experiments were carried out using several spatial clustering methods. The automatic zoning procedure method that gave the best statistical results was then tested with different combinations of parameters. In each city, seven types of areas of urban crime were identified. Maps of crime areas (regions) were created for each city. The results of the regionalisation have been interpreted from a socio-geographical point of view and conform with previous sociological urban studies. Seven types of areas of crime have been identified, which are present in all the cities studied and, according to a preliminary assessment, roughly correspond to the socio-demographic and urban zones of each city. The maps of crime areas can be applied for crime prevention planning and communication, real estate valuation, strategic urban development planning and other purposes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Pesquisas relatam que, no estudo da área de figuras geométricas, os alunos orientam seus procedimentos para o uso de fórmulas, reduzindo, assim, procedimentos geométricos como a reconfiguração e o uso de ferramentas tecnológicas para realizá-los, que são aspectos associados ao trabalho do professor. Nessa linha, foi realizado um estudo com o objetivo de descrever como professores de matemática do ensino médio em formação continuada realizam a configuração de figuras para o cálculo de áreas por meio do uso da ferramenta polígono rígido do GeoGebra. A noção de reconfiguração associada à apreensão operatória foi considerada como aspectos teóricos que corresponde à teoria dos registros de representação semiótica. Os resultados mostram que os professores realizaram reconfigurações de figuras geométricas para encontrar áreas e que aprenderam a usar a ferramenta polígono rígido para criar atividades no GeoGebra para que seus alunos reconfigurem figuras geométricas. Conclui-se que o GeoGebra proporciona aos professores uma variedade de ferramentas para ensinar aos alunos sobre áreas de figuras geométricas de forma dinâmica, prevalecendo os procedimentos geométricos.

One of the basic solutions to control and reduce the destructive effects of floods is to identify flood prone areas in the regions. Identifying flood sensitive points is one of the best methods for planning and identifying areas affected by floods. For this reason, determining flood-sensitive areas plays an important role in flood management in natural resources. For this reason, the current research is trying to determine the flood-prone areas in Isfahan province by using two methods of random forest machine learning and support vector machine and 3327 flood occurrence points. Environmental factors in four main groups including topographical factors (altitude, slope direction, steepness of slope), climatic factors (rainfall, relative humidity, wind, temperature), biological factors (vegetation and soil moisture) and man-made factors (distance from areas residential, distance from road, distance from agricultural land, distance from waterway) were prepared. The accuracy of the used models was evaluated using the area under the graph (AUC) and cross evaluation statistics. Examining the AUC index showed that both models had good accuracy, although the random forest model (AUC = 0.97) had higher accuracy than the support vector machine model (AUC = 0.86). According to the results of the random forest model, about 41% are in the high risk class and about 20% are in the low flood risk class. Also, in the support vector machine model, about 29% is in the high risk class and about 30% is in the low risk class. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Research into didactics of calculus has maintained a long-standing interest in students' grasp of the relations between definite integrals and areas. This study comes to contribute to this line of research by unpacking how students use the concept of area to find definite integrals. Specifically, we focus on mathematical situations where the integral functions are represented graphically and change signs between the limits of integration. We conceptualize these situations through the lens of Fischbein's theories of mental models and contemporary modelling literature. This lens is applied to authentic data corpus collected in a large first-year mathematics course—video-recordings of solutions that students submitted as part of their coursework and students' responses in multiple-choice final exams. The analysis revealed two modelling paths that students' solutions followed: one based on areas that the function enclosed, and one based on the integrals of the assigned functions. While the key role of areas in the first path could be expected, area-based reasoning in the second path is noteworthy. In the exams, just above one-fifth of students' responses were consistent with adding the positive measures of the enclosed areas. We situate these findings in the calculus literature to draw educators' attention to silent challenges that are inherent in the integral–area relations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of this work is to analyze the impact of psychological wellbeing on regional development from a theoretical perspective. For which the historical method was used to analyze the evolution of the concept of regional development, and the analytical method to observe the link between the subject and the areas involved in regional development. Based on the above, the impact that psychological well-being has on regional development is theoretically verified, through the link between the subject and each of the areas of regional development. La estructura organizacional de las micro, pequeñas y medianas empresas es limitada y está supeditada a las acciones más sensibles y urgentes. Ciertas actividades, especialmente en las empresas más pequeñas, son efectuadas por el propietario. No obstante, la pandemia Covid-19 evidenció necesidades de mayor especialización para poder dar continuidad a las operaciones, en un entorno cada vez más virtual y tecnológico. El propósito de este documento es describir la estructura organizacional y la gestión de las áreas funcionales para enfrentar la nueva normalidad. Para hacerlo, se aplicó un cuestionario a empresarios de la ciudad de Ambato, Ecuador y se acude a fuentes de información secundaria, artículos académicos y documentos de libre acceso. Se concluye que las estructuras organizacionales serán más dinámicas y flexibles y las áreas funcionales principalmente multidisciplinarias, con uso intensivo de la tecnología a todo nivel.

In this paper, we consider the seemingly simple problem of describing and enumerating the set of connected components delimited by the cyclotomic arrangement of straight lines in the plane generated from the edges of a regular n-gon. Millets are very important plant genetic resources for agriculture sector that extends food security to poor farmers having arid, marginal and poor lands especially in Asia and Africa. Millets are a group of small grain cereal food crops which are highly nutritious and are grown under marginal/low fertile soils with very low inputs such as fertilizers and pesticides. Indian agriculture is highly dependent on monsoon. Millets are also gaining popularity among farmers as climate-friendly, drought-resistant crops which can thrive even on barren soil. These crops are preferable choice of farmers for cultivation under various adverse environments - prone to climatic extremes. Millets are gluten-free and have a low glycemic index, making them a balanced and healthy diet for people suffering from diabetes. An intensive attempt to include millet crops in cropping systems, especially in vulnerable environments, is a positive step towards long-term sustainability. An effort has been made to expand global and regional scope and target for millet production, usage and in this regard, India's proposal to observe an International Year of Millets in 2023 was approved by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) during 2018 and the United Nations General Assembly has declared the year 2023 as the International Year of Millets. Agriculture commodities play an important role in international market demand, one of which is tea. Geographical conditions and highlands in Indonesia are very suitable for tea plants, so it would increase its international competitiveness when it develops. This research aims to determine the effect of production, areas, price, exchange rate, and GDP on Indonesia's tea exports. This research used quantitative data in a time series data of 60 samples from 2006-2020. Furthermore, this research used ARIMA to forecast with econometric aids Eviews 10. The results obtained include a positive and significant effect between production and export, and there is no effect on areas, price, the exchange rate, and GDP to exports. Potatoes are one of the most important agricultural crops, especially in areas with moderate climate. Tubers are a rich source of minerals (K, P, Mg, Na, Ca, etc.) and vitamins (especially vitamin C, then E, A, H and B vitamins). According to FAOStat data, in the period from 2017 to 2021, potatoes were grown on an average of over 17.2 million ha in the world, with an average tuber yield of 21.5 t/ha. Over 370 million tons of potatoes are produced annually in the world, of which over 50 % are produced in Asia. The world's largest potato producers are China, followed by India, the Russian Federation, Ukraine and the USA. The average consumption of potatoes per capita per year in the world for the period 2017-2021 is 33.3 kg. It is interesting to point out that Europe consumes the most potatoes per capita per year (76 kg/per capita/per year), while the lowest consumption of potatoes per capita per year is in Africa (14.6 kg/per capita/per year).

Many countries have been able to develop their coastal tourism resources by relying on sustainable designs for areas of heritage value, as there is a close relationship between the urban design of heritage areas and the coastal tourism sector, and sustainable urban design provides cities with distinctive attractions at a time when tourism depends on visiting those heritage areas. From this, a feeling emerged of the need to study the relationship between sustainable tourism urbanization and areas of heritage value and to reach a strategy to deal with it and preserve it and highlight the technical and historical aspects in it.The idea of sustainable tourism development is based on the introduction of structural transformations in the methods of designing tourist cities, in particular for coastal cities with cultural heritage, through the optimal use of the natural, economic, social and urban resources of these cities in line with the demand and tendencies of the current and complete coastal tourism needs, in addition to Promoting the natural and cultural heritage as one of the most popular measures the strategy of renewing mature coastal tourism destinations.The research sheds light on the various strategies used to deal with sustainable coastal tourism in heritage areas by studying methods of achieving sustainable urban development in coastal tourist areas, specifically those with urban heritage and the challenges facing these areas, in addition to studying the mechanism for evaluating that development. As a case study, a city was chosen Alexandria, and specifically the areas of "Abu Mina archaeological and Qaitbay Citadel", to be studied through: Analyzing the current situation and knowing the most important problems facing these areas and studying and analyzing the proposed methodology for steps to achieve sustainable tourism development. So that we can benefit from them in our existing situation, and try to reach the most successful solutions in the urban development of these areas to achieve sustainable tourism development while preserving the urban and architectural heritage.

The aspects highlighted in this paper refer to the application of fertilizers and plant protection products to the wheat crop, and their impact on total production, competitiveness in export markets, price optimization as a result of increased harvest quality, and not least row, ensuring farmers' incomes. The present analysis concerned the areas cultivated with wheat, and the productions achieved in relation to the quantities of fertilizers and protection products used in wheat cultivation, in Romania, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, Poland and the UK. The analysis highlighted that, the average productions are influenced both by the technology used, by the fertilization and treatments applied, as well as by other synergistic factors that intervene in wheat crops. In countries such as Spain and Italy, the correlation between the amounts of N (nitrogen), P2O5 (phosphorus), K2O (potassium) and the average production of wheat is insignificant, but in Romania and Hungary, there is a strong, direct connection between the number of fertilizers used and the average wheat crop yield. In Romania and Hungary, there is a very significant connection, but the production link average with pesticides is negative, while in Germany, the correlation is direct and quite intense for all types of fertilizers used, while the use of pesticides has a lower influence on average wheat production. In this study, we also applied a multiple regression model; in which the dependent variable was the average yield of wheat per ha and the independent variables were the average quantity of pesticides and fertilizers used. We used the "t Stat" values for each coefficient to determine whether the coefficient is equal to zero; where a high value of "t Stat", greater than 2; indicates the fact that the coefficient is significantly different from the value zero. The "p-value" for each coefficient indicates the probability that the coefficient has the value zero. A value below the significance level of 5% results in a coefficient significantly different from zero and with an impact on the dependent variable. The use of fertilizers on wheat crops has a synergistic effect as shown by the multiple linear regression analysis which demonstrated a strong direct relationship, particularly with the amount of N, K2O and P2O5 applied. The aim of this study is to determine the current usage situations of the workplaces built within the scope of the Uşak Old Tannery Environment Urban Transformation Project Application, which was completed and opened for use in 2018. Secondly, it is to identify the factors that prevent the revitalization of the area and the increase of human mobility in the area, and finally, based on the collected data, to make predictions about the future of the region. In this way, it is hoped that by taking the necessary precautions, its turning into a collapsed area can be prevented. In the literature review, no other academic study was found on the revitalization of the mentioned urban transformation area. In the research, the qualitative research method and "case study" were used. In this context, interviews were conducted with a total of 17 people from the categories of the homeowner, local tradesman, out-of-region tradesman, estate management and workplace management, using a semistructured form. The research findings indicate that the occupancy rate of the workplaces in the region can only reach 1/3; showing that it is far from the expectations in terms of sectoral diversity. On the cusp of the 20th and 21st century the global beauty and personal care industry experienced important territorial and structural changes. The main factors of those changes were the progress in the R&D and institutional changes in the global economy. This study uses the cluster-area method to analyze the main shifts in the spatial organization of the beauty and personal care industry at different territorial levels. One of the main trends in the mesolevel development of the industry is the growing role of macroeconomic environment for the competitiveness of national economies in the regions in which beauty and personal care businesses are based and conduct their activities. Cluster formation allows local economies to strengthen their industrial specialization and, as a result, acquire unique comparative advantages to improve their investment prospects. The gradual development and transformation of intercompany networks in the clusters is attended by the formation of territorial communities. These communities are defined as areas with unique parameters. The areas distinguished in the paper are divided in (1) commodity areas, (2) areas gravitating to R&D, certification, and sales centers, and (3) areas with trading specialization. Commodity areas are located mainly in agrarian regions, the spatial structure of such areas is formed by SMEs which have a long tradition of producing perfumery and cosmetic goods and are often represented by family businesses. The clusterizing of areas gravitating to R&D, certification, and sales centers is determined by the nature of perfumery and cosmetic products and the research intensity of the beauty and personal care industry. The formation of areas with trading specialization is determined by a beneficial geographical location and a certain set of location conditions (with business activities playing an important role) that ensure flexible value chain. The areas of this type are located mainly in emerging economies and are beginning to acquire features that make them similar to the second type areas located in developed economies. Objectives The discrimination of ovarian lesions presents a significant problem in everyday clinical practice with ultrasonography appearing to be the most effective diagnostic technique. The aim of our study was to externally evaluate the performance of different diagnostic models when applied by examiners with various levels of experience.

Organic agriculture is a food production system that sustains the health of people, soils and ecosystems with no adverse consequences, combining tradition, innovation and science. The development of such type of agricultural production, from its beginnings to the present day, has encompassed a number of specific stages both in Serbia and worldwide. Accordingly, the purpose of this survey study is to present the developmental course of organic agricultural production in Serbia and worldwide. The paper also summarises the state of organic plant production across different regions of Serbia, arguing that the Serbian organic production has been increasing since the 1990s. Following the political changes in Serbia in 2000, foreign donations, investments and organisations have significantly enhanced the country’s organic production sector as a whole. The largest number of organic producers (1/3) and the largest areas devoted to organic farming are concentrated in Vojvodina.

El estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar cómo estudiantes universitarios generan nociones sobre el Teorema Fundamental del Cálculo (TFC) al utilizar un razonamiento inductivo mediante el uso de GeoGebra. Se considera la noción de esquema desde la perspectiva del enfoque instrumental, y cómo se movilizan estos esquemas en cada uno de los procesos que comprenden el razonamiento inductivo. Los resultados muestran que los estudiantes utilizaron fórmulas de geometría, para determinar el área de un conjunto de regiones limitadas por funciones polinómicas y, a partir de un proceso inductivo, obtuvieron antiderivadas de estas funciones y describieron un procedimiento semejante al que se utiliza con el TFC para resolver integrales definidas. Se concluye que el uso de GeoGebra asociado con un proceso inductivo posibilita la observación de regularidades y la formulación de generalizaciones relacionadas con el TFC.

The Proposition 4 from the 11-th volume (called Book of Lemmas) of „Great Books of the Western World" (printed in USA in 1952) presents the properties of a remarkable curve from Antiquity. This curve was studied by Archimedes, who called it Arbelos and it looks like a shoemaker's knife. It consists of 3 semicircles. The first part of the paper is dedicated to the description of an original mechanism, conceived to plot the above-mentioned curve. It is made of a rotating driving element and two dyads of RRR type. The curve plotted by the mechanism checks the equality of areas described by Archimedes. He proved (by using geometric reasonings) that the area of a circle whose diameter is equal to the height of the right triangle inscribed in the Arbelos curve's big semicircle is equal to the Arbelos curve's area. In the second part of the paper, the authors modified the mechanism's parameters and obtained 3 particular cases of Arbelos curves. These particular curves, plotted with the modified mechanism, are also composed of 3 semicircles whilst exhibiting other equalities between areas. The authors used geometric reasonings to prove the equality between the area of each particular curve and the area of a circle whose diameter is equal to the leg of a right triangle inscribed in the big semicircle of the studied particular curve. Ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) and bacteria (AOB) play an important role in nitrification, which is essential in the global nitrogen cycle. However, their dynamics and the underlying community processes in agricultural ecosystems under disturbance remain largely unknown. In this study we examined the spatiotemporal dynamics of AOA and AOB communities and analyzed their community processes in the sediment of aquaculture ponds across three different areas in China. We found some significant temporal changes in AOA and AOB community diversity and abundances, but no temporal changes in community composition, despite the significant variations in sediment properties between different sampling times. Nevertheless, significant differences were found for AOA and AOB communities between different areas. Distinct area-specific taxa were detected, and they were found to be important in determining the response of AOA and AOB communities to environmental factors. In addition, geographic distance was found to be significantly correlated with AOA and AOB community composition, which demonstrates that dispersal limitation could significantly contribute to the variations in AOA and AOB communities, and stochastic processes were found to be important in structuring AOA/AOB communities in aquaculture ponds. Taken together, our study indicates that the dynamics of AOA and AOB are based on their community characteristics in aquaculture pond sediment. Our results, for the first time, provide evidence for the dynamics of AOA and AOB communities being driven by stochastic factors in a disturbed environment, and might also be of use in the management of the aquaculture environment. The functions performed by facility management practitioners and their classification have evolved over the last decades. The practice of Facility Management integrates many professions; however, certain authors have pointed out that heterogeneous views are generated by those responsible for the facilities, and this has caused confusion about the understanding of the discipline in recent years. In addition, different attitudes about the discipline have been presented depending on the vision of the British or American schools of FM, which face the objectives and tasks throughout these years in different ways. This causes diffuse areas that prevent the identification of the entire spectrum of functions related to support activities in a facility management system. The objective of this research was to identify and classify the functions performed until the present time by facility managers in the literature to establish the scope of a facility management system. In this work, the authors carried out a review of the literature and an analysis of the different documents that gave rise to a proposal of the different functions performed and their classification into main areas. Later, a validation of the proposal was requested through an expert consultation in facility management in Latin America, which reached 94% approval. The validated proposal is composed of at least 37 functions performed by facility management professionals, and these functions can be classified into six main areas: Asset and Maintenance Management; Real Estate and Property Management; Energy and Sustainability Management; Corporate Project Management; Workplace Management; and Facilities Services Management. The Proposition 4 from the 11-th volume (called Book of Lemmas) of „Great Books of the Western World” (printed in USA in 1952) presents the properties of a remarkable curve from Antiquity. This curve was studied by Archimedes, who called it Arbelos and it looks like a shoemaker's knife. It consists of 3 semicircles. The first part of the paper is dedicated to the description of an original mechanism, conceived to plot the above-mentioned curve. It is made of a rotating driving element and two dyads of RRR type. The curve plotted by the mechanism checks the equality of areas described by Archimedes. He proved (by using geometric reasonings) that the area of a circle whose diameter is equal to the height of the right triangle inscribed in the Arbelos curve’s big semicircle is equal to the Arbelos curve’s area. In the second part of the paper, the authors modified the mechanism’s parameters and obtained 3 particular cases of Arbelos curves. These particular curves, plotted with the modified mechanism, are also composed of 3 semicircles whilst exhibiting other equalities between areas. The authors used geometric reasonings to prove the equality between the area of each particular curve and the area of a circle whose diameter is equal to the leg of a right triangle inscribed in the big semicircle of the studied particular curve.

Organic farming is becoming more and more important and is constantly expanding. This development is supported by the growing demand of consumers for organic agricultural products, who are becoming more aware and interested in health insurance through the consumption of products, to which are added the requirements of society for sustainable agricultural development and the multitude of favorable effects at the level of the farm and the environment. Organic farming is an agricultural method that aims to produce food using natural substances and processes. Therefore, it has a limited impact on the environment because it encourages: responsible use of energy and natural resources, conservation of biodiversity, conservation of regional ecological balances, increasing soil fertility, maintaining water quality.EU regulations on organic farming aim to provide a clear structure for the production of organic products throughout the EU. Călărai County has, according to specialists in the field, the most productive land in Bărăgan. The purpose of this paper was to present the situation of organic agriculture in relation to conventional agriculture in Calarasi County, in terms of cultivated areas and average production, as well as a brief analysis of data on access to European funds in the county. According to the forest fund accounting materials, the areas of mature beech stands estimated by Forest Management Organization were determined in 17 categories of forest. Forest stands up to 170 years are mature in the forests of nature protection objects. It was determined that the largest share of such stand (more than 57% of total area) is located in operational forests and 15.7% are concentrated in the forest management part of green areas. Mature beech stands grow in beech, oak, fir and pine types of forest. The largest area of beech stands is concentrated on the territory of the Western Forest-Steppe, namely in different forest vegetation conditions of the Ukrainian Roztochia, Opillya and Western Podillya. They prevail in the conditions of fresh oak-hornbeam beech forest type occupying more than 10 thousand hectares, as well as in wet oak-hornbeam beech type of forest occupying almost 8.5 thousand hectares. The stands are formed by the share of European beech from 2 to 10 units in the tree species composition. In some regions, along with European beech there are common oak, white fir (in Prykarpattia) and Scots pine (in Roztochia) in tree species composition and accompanying tree species are often represented by hornbeam, maple, birch and aspen. More than 52% of pure stands in terms of area and number of plots are concentrated in operational forests. The most common are stands with a relative density of 0.5, covering an area of almost 7.4 thousand hectares (1762 plots), while stands with a density of 0.7 cover area of 7.3 thousand hectares forming 1150 plots. Taking into account that plain beech forests perform 54 primary functions, among which the high importance is dedicated to the social and protective functions the structure of stands should be optimal for their effective implementation of such functions over a long period. To achieve this recommended forming productive stands with a significant proportion of beech in the tree species composition. On average, the share of beech in tree species composition of the analyzed categories of forests and forest plots is in the range of 6.0-9.9 units. The largest share (more than 52%) of pure beech stands are concentrated in operational category of forests. Mature beech stands in the forest management part of the forests of green areas are characterized by the highest productivity. The wood stock value in some stands reach 590 - 661 m3∙ha-1. Taking into account the bioecological features of European beech, its ability to regenerate naturally and the functions performed forestry measures in mature beech stands to be aimed at its natural regeneration and gradual transformation into complex structures of different ages. Implementation of various functions by beech stands requires the application of such forest management measures that ought to meet the purpose of management at best; permanent preservation of the forest environment; strengthening the performance of certain functions and timely and high-quality natural regeneration of forest areas. Moreover, it calls for measures towards their gradual transformation into complex structures of different ages in most forest categories, including recreational & health improving forests and forests that fulfil environmental and protective functions.

Covid-19 is a disease that attacks the respiratory tract that began to be identified in Wuhan, China. WHO then announced the condition as a pandemic that quickly spread throughout the world. The rapid spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) also occurred in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. In a spatial-temporal perspective, the spread of infectious diseases can be happened by the interconnectivity or interaction between areas, populations, and transportation facilities that facilitate community mobility. This research aims to describe the interactions between regions in West Kalimantan and the relation to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used centrality measurement and cluster analysis, where the results of these calculations are then described in line with the distribution of the Covid-19 case in West Kalimantan. From the justification, areas with high centrality in the network configuration tend to have the most confirmed cases compared to other areas. The character of these areas tends to be the main entrance (air/port), the provincial capital, and the hub area in West Kalimantan, which is also included as the same cluster. Another interesting finding is that areas with low centrality, and included in the same cluster, have several people under surveillance which is quite large compared to the previous cluster. These areas tend to have a dense population and are directly related to the Provincial Capital and neighboring countries (border).

The most cited definition of sustainable development was created more than three decades ago, by the Brundtland Commission. The problem that was defined then is equally present today. There are various definitions of 'sustainable development', and thus, in the past, different countries have made different frameworks. However, the current framework has been presented by the 2030 Agenda and specifically divided into 17 goals, defined by the United Nations. It is not the same starting point for countries with developed and underdeveloped economies. This paper highlights the economic and educational structure of the population as a potential for economic and social development, but also for the Gross Value Added. These are the main parameters that were analysed to extract the most sensitive areas. The analysed data refer to the 25 administrative areas (NSTJ 3) in Serbia. The most endangered areas that should be emphasized in further research and action plans are distinguished. The results of the paper should serve as a starting point for further and more in-depth research, as well as for creating projects for the more balanced regional development of Serbia.
