In the multi-point incremental launching construction process, without setting temporary piers at the mid-span, it is difficult to ensure the synchronization of the launching equipment at the same pier, which can easily cause the beam to deviate from the design axis, leading to changes in the stress of the beam. Calculating the local maximum stress of the beam when lateral deviation occurs is beneficial for establishing a reasonable and reliable threshold for controlling beam deviations. To address this issue, this paper utilizes a finite element model of the bridge under typical adverse conditions, simulating the lateral deviation and asynchronous jacking of the beam to explore stress variation patterns. The results show that the beam stress increases as the lateral deviation and jacking differences increase, severely affecting the structural safety. To overcome the inefficiency of the finite element modeling method when dealing with multiple working conditions and to establish a reasonable deviation control threshold, this study proposes a beam local stress prediction model under the combined influence of lateral deviation and jacking height differences based on the SSA-SVR algorithm. The model calculates the local maximum stress of the beam for 2500 sets of parameters. An engineering case analysis shows that the prediction model has high calculation accuracy, reliable results, fast computational speed, and high efficiency. Based on the stress prediction results, it is recommended to set the jacking height difference control threshold at 20 mm. When the jacking height difference is less than 20 mm, the local maximum stress value under the combined influence of both parameters should be less than the standard limit. The corresponding lateral deviation control threshold can be dynamically adjusted according to the actual travel difference recorded by the jacking equipment, with the control precision improved to 1 mm.

Developing high‐performance anode current collectors with three‐dimensional structure and lithiophilic layers is of great importance to further advance the application of lithium metal batteries. However, relatively few research has focused on the transition of substrate and the intrinsic structure stability after electrodeposition of lithium on substrates, which leads to an incomplete understanding of the behavior of lithium deposition. Herein, a lithium metal anodes host with a highly stable and 3D structure has been effectively produced through in situ development of nanoflake arrays embedded with Co3O4 obtained from ZIF on nickel foams (Co3O4‐NF). And the actual lithium deposition sites and lithium deposition process on Co3O4‐NF are elucidated via a combination of characterization techniques and electrochemical analytical methods. Consequently, the resulting Co3O4‐NF@Li anodes could effectively inhibit lithium dendrite formation and mitigate volume expansion, demonstrating a significantly extended and consistent lifespan of 800 cycles (1600 h) at 1 mA cm−2 with low overpotential and insignificant voltage fluctuation for the process of lithium stripping and plating in symmetric cells. Herein, it is aimed to examine the transitions of metal oxides as a lithiophilic site for the lithium metal anode. It offers novel perspectives and approaches for the design of dendrite‐free lithium metal anodes.

A finite element model of a 100 m X-BOW polar exploration cruise ship has been developed. The ship’s frequency response analysis was conducted, with the simulated results closely matching the test data. The maximum discrepancy was 22%, equating to a negligible 0.24 mm/s difference in terms of comfort. This indicates that the simulation meets the standards of engineering precision and validates the model’s accuracy. Utilizing a global modal equivalent mass solution approach, in conjunction with the spatial distribution of local modal mass, a method for calculating the equivalent mass of a single local mode in mixed modes has been devised. This method was applied to determine the equivalent mass of the local vibration region of the 100 m X-BOW ship. Tuned mass dampers (TMDs) were then designed based on this equivalent mass. Analysis reveals that the TMDs achieve a 31 dB vibration absorption effect at a frequency of 13.4 Hz with a mass ratio of 0.05. They also provide a control effect at 10 Hz and 18.8 Hz, corresponding to 3 dB and 2 dB reductions, respectively. The control frequency band is broad, flat, and robust, indicating the effectiveness of the TMDs in mitigating vibrations across a wide range of frequencies.

CoS2 can meet the strict requirements of high probability output capacity and high energy output capacity of thermal batteries in modern weaponry thanks to its advantages of low resistivity and high thermal decomposition temperature combined with a full Li+ conductive electrolyte. Nevertheless, CoS2 has the limitations of a low voltage platform and theorical capacity. In this case, Fe and Ni are doped into the CoS2 lattice through low-temperature solid-phase sintering to synthesize Fe0.1Co0.8Ni0.1S2 with a single-phase structure. Fe0.1Co0.8Ni0.1S2 generated by the solid phase method has higher thermal stability, which can reduce the high temperature thermal shock at the immediate start of the thermal battery and assure the safety of the thermal battery in operation. Meanwhile, the mass loss of Fe0.1Co0.8Ni0.1S2 at 615 °C is only 5 %, allowing it to discharge at the maximum effective mass at the normal operating temperature(∼500 °C). Because of the synergistic action of Fe2+, Ni2+, and Co2+ in the discharge process, the discharge voltage of CoS2 increases significantly, giving CoS2 higher specific energy. The simultaneous boost in specific energy and specific capacity indicates that doping has been highly successful in modifying CoS2, making CoS2 more appropriate for the use of high current and long-life thermal cell systems.

When a steel box girder is constructed using the jacking method, the contact area between the jack and the bottom of the girder is subjected to complex forces, and it is very critical to ensure the local stability of the girder. When the phenomenon of unsynchronized jacking occurs, it will lead to changes in the contact area and affect the structural safety. In order to solve the above problems, this paper takes the background of the incremental launching construction of the main bridge across the Yellow River on Jiao Ping Expressway, adopts the Midas FEA NX 2021 finite element software to establish a finite element hybrid unit model under the maximum cantilever condition for the first time, and analyzes the local stresses in this state. The results show that the local maximum equivalent stress of the steel box girder is 198.301 MPa, which meets the requirements. The effect of jacking asynchrony on the structural forces is analyzed by simulating jacking asynchrony in the local model. The results show that both vertical jacking asynchrony and lateral deflection will lead to an increase in local stresses in the steel box girder and even steel yielding. On the basis of the above single-parameter study, a two-parameter correlation analysis is carried out to obtain the two-parameter control equation of jacking, the control threshold of the vertical jacking height difference is formulated to be 15 mm, and the dynamic control of lateral deflection is realized according to the control equation. Through comparison, it is found that the two-parameter control threshold of jacking synchronization is reduced, which can supplement the unfavorable state missed during single-parameter control and is a safer and more effective means of control.

The present work quantifies metal-contaminant interactions between palladium substrates and three salient chlorinated organic contaminants, namely trichloroethylene 1,3,5-trichlorobenzene (TCB), and 3,3′,4,4′-tetrachlorobiphenyl (PCB77). Given that Pd is one of the conventional catalytically active materials known for contaminant removal, maximizing catalytic efficiency through optimal adsorption dynamics reduces the cost of remediation of contaminants that are persistent water pollutants chronically affecting public health. Adsorption efficiency analyses from all-atom molecular dynamics (MD) simulations advance the understanding of reaction mechanisms available from density functional theory (DFT) calculations to an extractable feature scale that can fit the parametric design of supported metal catalytic systems and feed into high throughput catalyst selection. Data on residence time, site-specific adsorption, binding energies, packing geometries, orientation profiles, and the effect of adsorbate size show the anomalous behaviour of organic contaminant adsorption on the undercoordinated {110} surface as compared to the {111} and {100} surfaces. The intermolecular interaction within contaminants from molecular dynamics simulation exhibits refreshing results than ordinary single molecule density functional theory calculation. Since complete adsorption and dechlorination is an essential step for chlorinated organic contaminant remediation pathways, the presented profiles provide essential information for designing efficient remediation systems through facet-controlled palladium nanoparticles.

P2/O3 composite sodium layered oxide has emerged as a promising cathode for high-performance Na-ion batteries. However, it has been challenging to regulate accurately the phase ratio of P2/O3 composite due to their high compositional diversity, which brings about some difficulty in manipulating the electrochemical performance of P2/O3 composite. Here, we explore the effect of Ti substitution and the synthesis temperature on the crystal structure and Na storage performance of Na0.8Ni0.4Mn0.6O2. The investigation indicates Ti-substitution and altering synthesis temperature can rationally manipulate the phase ratio of P2/O3 composite, thereby purposefully regulating the cycling and rate performance of P2/O3 composite. Typically, O3-rich Na0.8Ni0.4Mn0.4Ti0.2O2-950 shows excellent cycling stability with a capacity retention of 84% (3C, 700 cycles). By elevating the proportion of P2 phase, Na0.8Ni0.4Mn0.4Ti0.2O2-850 displays concurrently improved rate capability (65% capacity retention at 5 C) and comparable cycling stability. These findings will help guide the rational design of high-performance P2/O3 composite cathodes for sodium-ion batteries.

Averaging neural network weights sampled by a backbone stochastic gradient descent (SGD) is a simple-yet-effective approach to assist the backbone SGD in finding better optima, in terms of generalization. From a statistical perspective, weight-averaging contributes to variance reduction. Recently, a well-established stochastic weight-averaging (SWA) method was proposed, which featured the application of a cyclical or high-constant (CHC) learning-rate schedule for generating weight samples for weight-averaging. Then, a new insight on weight-averaging was introduced, which stated that weight average assisted in discovering a wider optima and resulted in better generalization. We conducted extensive experimental studies concerning SWA, involving 12 modern deep neural network model architectures and 12 open-source image, graph, and text datasets as benchmarks. We disentangled the contributions of the weight-averaging operation and the CHC learning-rate schedule for SWA, showing that the weight-averaging operation in SWA still contributed to variance reduction, and the CHC learning-rate schedule assisted in exploring the parameter space more widely than the backbone SGD, which could be be under-fitted due to a lack of training budget. We then presented an algorithm termed periodic SWA (PSWA) that comprised a series of weight-averaging operations to exploit such wide parameter space structures as explored by the CHC learning-rate schedule, and we empirically demonstrated that PSWA outperformed its backbone SGD remarkably.

The use of steroid drugs such as dexamethasone in long-term treatment poses a challenge called femoral head necrosis. To reduce the destructive effects of dexamethasone, the use of herbal suppressants such as Curculigo orchioides polysaccharides (COPs) is recommended despite the ambiguities in their chemical composition and the effects of each component on the anti-necrosis activity of the femoral head. In this study, after separation of COPs through hot water–ethanol precipitation method and purification through DEAE-Sepharose fast flow column, their properties were explained by FTIR, NMR, methylation and chromatography. Moreover, the COPs biocompatibility and its inhibitory effects against dexamethasone-induced cytotoxicity were evaluated by MTT assay and gene expression on human primary osteoblasts cells. The results exhibit that the 4756 Da molecular weight COPs is generally composed of Rha, Ara, Fru, Xyl, Man, Glc, Gal, Glu A and Gal A. Also, MTT results recognized high biocompatibility of COPs and suppressive effect on dexamethasone. Also, COPs significantly reduced dexamethasone-induced intracellular levels of apoptosis and ROS. Furthermore, the use of COPs has significantly increased ALP activity, collagen content and mineralization, which are very effective in differentiating HPOS cells to repair bone tissue. Meanwhile, the gene expression outcomes indicate an increase in Bcl-2 expression gene and decrease in BAX, Caspase-9 and Caspase-3 gene expression in the presence of COPs, which are important in controlling apoptotic activity and bone regeneration. Overall, this study revealed that COPs can lead to the treatment of femoral head necrosis.

One of the common challenges in using glucocorticoid in the long term is the development of femoral head necrosis. To address this challenge, the use of glucocorticoid suppressors like plant polysaccharides has been considered. In this study, Moringa oleifera polysaccharide was isolated through hot water–ethanol precipitation method and purified by DEAE-Sepharose fast flow column. Then, they were characterized by FT-IR, NMR, methylation, and chromatography assays. The polysaccharide biocompatibility was investigated by MTT assay and its effect on osteoblasts was evaluated by controlling gene expression. Also, the effect of polysaccharide on dexamethasone-induced femoral head necrosis in rats was assessed by hydroxyproline, hexosamine and morphometric parameters. The results show that 2 Da molecular weight polysaccharide is mainly composed of Rha, Ara, Fru, Xyl, Man and Gal in the molar ratio of 1.7:2.1:3.4:5.9:5.8:1.3. Meanwhile, MTT results on osteoblasts cells showed polysaccharide biocompatibility, while significantly reducing the negative effects of glucocorticoid. Likewise, polysaccharide significantly reduced the levels of apoptosis and intracellular ROS of glucocorticoid-induced femoral necrosis. Moreover, the results of gene expression indicated a decrease in the expression of TNF-α and IL-6 genes using polysaccharide, which is very effective in preventing apoptotic activity. Also, Polysaccharide increased bone density, bone volume per tissue volume, trabecular thickness, and the hexosamine to hydroxyproline ratio in the rat serum in the presence of glucocorticoids, which are very effective in the process of femoral head necrosis. Furthermore, polysaccharide significantly increases the OCN, RUNX2 and COL-1 genes expression in cartilage tissue, which is in line with the result of morphometric parameters. Overall, this study suggests that the use of polysaccharide could result in the treatment of femoral head necrosis.

With the continuous development of cross-modality generation, audio-driven talking face generation has made substantial advances in terms of speech content and mouth shape, but existing research on talking face emotion generation is still relatively unsophisticated. In this work, we present Emotionally Controllable Talking Face Generation from an Arbitrary Emotional Portrait to synthesize lip-sync and an emotionally controllable high-quality talking face. Specifically, we take a facial reenactment perspective, using facial landmarks as an intermediate representation driving the expression generation of talking faces through the landmark features of an arbitrary emotional portrait. Meanwhile, decoupled design ideas are used to divide the model into three sub-networks to improve emotion control. They are the lip-sync landmark animation generation network, the emotional landmark animation generation network, and the landmark-to-animation translation network. The two landmark animation generation networks are responsible for generating content-related lip area landmarks and facial expression landmarks to correct the landmark sequences of the target portrait. Following this, the corrected landmark sequences and the target portrait are fed into the translation network to generate an emotionally controllable talking face. Our method controls the expressions of talking faces by driving the emotional portrait images while ensuring the generation of animated lip-sync, and can handle new audio and portraits not seen during training. A multi-perspective user study and extensive quantitative and qualitative evaluations demonstrate the superiority of the system in terms of visual emotion representation and video authenticity.

A novel electrochemical platform was designed and prepared for simultaneous determination of p-acetaminophen (AMP) and p-aminophenol (AP) by combining the excellent conductivity and electrocatalytic activities of tetraaminophenyl porphyrin functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs-CONH-TAPP) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The as-synthesized CNTs-CONH-TAPP composites were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope. The incisive oxidation current responses of AMP and AP at the modified electrode promised a sensitive and selective simultaneous determination of AMP and AP. Under optimized conditions, the peak currents were directly proportional to the concentrations of AMP and AP over the ranges of 4.5–500 μmol L−1 and 0.08–60 μmol L−1, respectively, and the limits of detection were 0.44 μmol L−1 for AMP and 0.025 μmol L−1 for AP(S/N = 3) respectively. The proposed modified electrode showed excellent selectivity, reproducibility and long-term stability and could be applied in simultaneous determination of p-acetaminophen and p-aminophenol in real samples. An Fe(OTf)3-catalyzed intramolecular hydroarylation of arene-alkynes with high functional group tolerance has been reported, affording a series of phenanthrene derivatives efficiently. A low catalytic amount of Fe(OTf)3 is applied in this reaction. This transformation provides a convenient and practical method for the preparation of phenanthrenes. A catalyst-free intramolecular formal Heck reaction has been developed, affording 9-benzylidene-9H-fluorene derivatives under UV irradiation. This reaction probably proceeds via UV-induced homolytic cleavage of CI bond, addition of the aryl radical to the alkene moiety, single electron oxidation of alkyl radical intermediate into carbocation species, and deprotonation. Thermal batteries with a high power density and rapid activation time are crucial for improving the fast response ability of sophisticated weapons. In this study, an Ni-NiCl2 composite was prepared via hydrogen reduction and employed as a cathode material. Discharge tests on a battery assembled using the fabricated composite revealed that its initial internal resistance decreased and the activation time reduced. Notably, the Ni-NiCl2 cathode increased the energy output by 47% (from 6.76 to 9.94 Wh in NiCl2 and Ni-NiCl2, respectively) with a cut-off voltage of 25 V; the power density of the novel battery system reached 11.4 kW/kg. The excellent performance of the thermal battery benefited from the high electrode potential and low internal resistance of Ni-NiCl2. This study contributes to the development of high-performance electrode materials for next-generation thermal battery-related technologies.

P-tert-butyldihomooxacalix[4]arene is a well-known calix[4]arene analog in which one CH2 bridge is replaced by one -CH2OCH2- group. Thus, dihomooxacalix[4]arene has a slightly larger cavity than that of calix[4]arene and usually possesses a more flexible cone conformation, and the bridged oxygen atom might provide additional binding sites. Here, we synthesized a new functional p-tert-butyldihomooxacalix[4]arene 1 through Ugi reaction with good yield (70%), starting from condensed p-tert-butyldihomooxacalix[4]arene O-alkoxy–substituted benzaldehydes, benzoic acid, benzylamine, and cyclohexyl isocyanide. Proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H NMR), 13C NMR, IR, and diffusion-ordered 1H NMR spectroscopy (DOSY) methods were used to characterize the structure of 1. Then soft gel was prepared by adding 1 into cyclohexane directly. It shows remarkable thermoreversibility and can be demonstrated for several cycles. As is revealed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images, xerogel showed highly interconnected and homogeneous porous network structures, and hence, the gel is suitable for storage and controlled release.

Long-time thermal batteries with high specific energy are crucial for improving the fast response ability of long-range weapons. Due to its high capacity, safety, and stability, the new sulfide cathode has attracted extensive attention. In this study, an FeS2@CoS2 composite cathode with a core–shell structure was prepared via a combination of hydrothermal and high-temperature vulcanization processes. The novel FeS2@CoS2 cathode not only delivers a high discharge voltage and output capacity, but also has high thermal stability and excellent conductivity. Benefiting from the synergistic effect of FeS2 and CoS2, the as-synthesized cathode yields a high specific capacity. At a large current density of 1 A/cm2, the utilization rate of FeS2@CoS2 cathode material can reach 72.33%, which is 8.23% higher than that of FeS2. Moreover, the maximum output capacity is up to 902 As/g, with a utilization rate of 79.02% at 500 mA/cm2. This novel design strategy holds great promise for the development and application of high-performance thermal batteries in the future.

In this work, DFT/TDDFT methods were utilized to have an analysis on the excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) in a series of 7-hydroxy-1-indanone derivates. By comparison of the relative energy in first excited state of each isomer, it is concluded that the direction of ESIPT is decided by the stability of isomer, which may be tuned by the change of conjugation pattern. Based on the results above, a strategy was proposed to control the ESIPT process, in which a dyad was designed by combining the derivate and dithienylethene together. Through the photoisomerization of dithienylethene, the excited group involved in excitation will make an effective shift, which, could act as a switch for the ESIPT process. A series of newly designed Ru-dyes constructed with [Ru(bpy)(bpp)Cl]+ (bpp = 2,6-bis(N-pyrazolyl)pyridine, bpy = bipyridine) as template were evaluated by studying the frontier molecular orbital energy, charge distribution, absorption spectrum, light harvesting efficiency, as well as photogenerated current density by using (time-dependent) density functional theory. The calculation results reveal that the light harvesting efficiency and current density are enhanced with only one linkage group attached onto the 4 site of pyridine ligand. Mechanistic insights into the selective C–H terminal activation of n-pentane with tungsten allyl nitrosyl complex reported by Legzdins were gained by employing density functional theory with B3LYP hybrid functional. Using Bader’s atom in molecules (AIM) analysis on the elementary steps of the hydrogen transfer process, TS1 and TS2, it was observed that the calculated H-transfer models were closely similar to Hall’s metal-assisted σ-bond metathesis through bond critical point (BCP) comparisons. One distinguishable feature was the fact that the formal oxidation state of the W changed in the concerted H-transfer process. To better differentiate, we term these processes as ‘Formal Reductive Hydrogen Transfer’ (FRHT) for TS1 and ‘Formal Oxidative Hydrogen Transfer’ (FOHT) for TS2.

In this paper, we report a facile one-step hydrothermal method to synthesize tetragonal Na3V2(PO4)2F3@C particles which are connected by carbon nanotubes (CNTs) networks, using water as hydrothermal solvents. In this strategy, the reduction and crystallization of materials are carried out in the hydrothermal process (180°C, 12 h), no additional heat treatment is required. The well-crystallized Na3V2(PO4)2F3 tetragonal grains (5–10 μm) are coated with amorphous nano-carbon and connected by highly conductive CNTs. The addition of CNTs can not only improve the conductivity of materials but also effectively inhibit the Na3V2(PO4)2F3 grains over growth. The Na3V2(PO4)2F3@C/CNTs composite possesses very flat charge/discharge platforms of 3.6 and 4.1 V. The sample exhibits an initial discharge specific capacity of 120.2 and 74.3 mAh g−1 at 0.1 and 10 C rate, respectively, and shows excellent cyclical stability. The composite owns excellent electrochemical performances owing to the three-dimensional highly conductive network which is co-constructed by the CNTs and nano-carbon coating layer.

Medical image segmentation based on deep learning is a central research issue in the field of computer vision. Many existing segmentation networks can achieve accurate segmentation using fewer data sets. However, they have disadvantages such as poor network flexibility and do not adequately consider the interdependence between feature channels. In response to these problems, this paper proposes a new de-normalized channel attention network, which uses an improved de-normalized residual block structure and a new channel attention module in the network for the segmentation of sophisticated vessels. The de-normalized network sends the extracted rough features to the channel attention network. The channel attention module can explicitly model the interdependence between channels and pay attention to the correlation with crucial information in multiple feature channels. It can focus on the channels with the most association with vital information among multiple feature channels, and get more detailed feature results. Experimental results show that the network proposed in this paper is feasible, is robust, can accurately segment blood vessels, and is particularly suitable for complex blood vessel structures. Finally, we compared and verified the network proposed in this paper with the state-of-the-art network and obtained better experimental results.

A new method for the photooxidation of triarylphosphines into the corresponding oxides is developed. In this new protocol, neither a catalyst nor an additive is required. The greenest oxidant, oxygen in air atmosphere, is used. After a short period of photo irradiation at rt, stoichiometric amounts of the oxides can be easily afforded by simply recycling the solvent under vacuum. No waste is formed in the whole process of this reaction. The substrate scope of this reaction is broad, showing very good application prospects in both organic chemistry and industrial processes.

An organocatalytic protocol for the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate has been developed. Under the catalysis of 5 mol% N-heterocyclic carbenes, ethylene carbonate undergoes transesterification reaction with methanol under very mild reaction conditions, producing dimethyl carbonate with high efficiency. Furthermore, this N-heterocyclic carbene promoted transesterification can be scaled-up easily without lose of the conversion of dimethyl carbonate.

Damping Bragg scattering from the ocean surface is the basic underlying principle of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) oil slick detection, and they produce dark spots on SAR images. Dark spot detection is the first step in oil spill detection, which affects the accuracy of oil spill detection. However, some natural phenomena (such as waves, ocean currents, and low wind belts, as well as human factors) may change the backscatter intensity on the surface of the sea, resulting in uneven intensity, high noise, and blurred boundaries of oil slicks or lookalikes. In this paper, Segnet is used as a semantic segmentation model to detect dark spots in oil spill areas. The proposed method is applied to a data set of 4200 from five original SAR images of an oil spill. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated through the comparison with fully convolutional networks (FCN), an initiator of semantic segmentation models, and some other segmentation methods. It is here observed that the proposed method can not only accurately identify the dark spots in SAR images, but also show a higher robustness under high noise and fuzzy boundary conditions.

Optical polishing can accurately correct the surface error through controlling the dwell time of the polishing tool on the element surface. Thus, the precision of the trajectory and the dwell time (the runtime of the trajectory) are important factors affecting the polishing quality. This study introduces a systematic interpolation method for optical polishing using a non-uniform rational B-spline (NURBS). A numerical method for solving all the control points of NURBS was proposed with the help of a successive over relaxation (SOR) iterative theory, to overcome the problem of large computation. Then, an optimisation algorithm was applied to smooth the NURBS by taking the shear jerk as the evaluation index. Finally, a trajectory interpolation scheme was investigated for guaranteeing the precision of the trajectory runtime. The experiments on a prototype showed that, compared to the linear interpolation method, there was an order of magnitude improvement in interpolation, and runtime, errors. Correspondingly, the convergence rate of the surface error of elements improved from 37.59% to 44.44%.

Amoxicillin, a broad-spectrum [beta]-lactam antibiotic, is widely used for treatment of neonatal infections. Despite the unmet need in neonates, an adapted analytical method is still missing in clinical practice. The purpose of this study was to develop and test an easy and credible high performance liquid chromatography-UV (HPLC-UV) method to determine amoxicillin in small volumes of human plasma and use it in routine therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of neonates. After a protein precipitation, amoxicillin for standards, quality control samples, and patient samples were separated by LC and measured by UV detection, and tinidazole was used as the internal standard. The calibration range was 0.50-20.0 [micro]g/mL. Intra- and inter-day precisions were less than 4.7%. The acceptance criteria of accuracy (between 85-115%) were met in all cases. A plasma volume of 50 [micro]L was required to achieve the limit of quantification of 0.50 [micro]g/mL. Thus, a simple, rapid, and accurate HPLC-UV method has been developed to detect the concentration of amoxicillin in human plasma.
