Calisthenic Exercises, by Miss Titcomb outlines series of calisthenic exercises. Published in 1852, it begins without any explanation with the first series; explaining the standing position, before going into an explanation of each different series of exercises. The descriptions give explicit instructions including which body part is moving and exactly where to move it to. The second series explains each exercise similarly, but also includes a song for each exercise. The third series is ideally to be used for a class of 16 people. It explains how to separate the class and determine who the leader is for each of the different sections. It outlines each exercise and also gives pictures using numbers of where different people are supposed to be during the exercise. There are also songs included in the majority of the various outlined exercises.
