The article focuses on a lecture on the logic of liberty delivered at the University of Chicago in Illinois. The lecturer discussed convictions concerning the meaning of freedom in science, the scientist's commitment, the indefinite nature of scientific beliefs, the method of transmitting scientific beliefs, the authority of scientific opinion, and the constitution of scientific life. The implications of freedom are considered as a method of self-coordination. The authority exercised by scientific opinion is merely selective and not directive.
