Abstract
- Faith in the democratic process has recently been repudiated in some places where it should find its strongest support. Within the last year, many university administrators have assumed the right to sift ideas, which speakers wished to discuss on invitation of various student groups and they have forbidden the expression of ideas by persons whom they considered unqualified or subversive. Speaker bans have been enforced at the University of California, Michigan State University, Ohio State University and the New York City colleges, to name but a few.
