Abstract
- This article profiles the life of a Reverend with pseudonym as Lewis Carrol. the Reverend had been ordained deacon by the Bishop of Oxford in the year 1981. He had already spent eleven years as undergraduate and lecturer at the university, and was destined to add another thirty-six years there before death cut short his residence. His life, in fact, was spent in an almost monastic retirement. He emerged, it is true, to attend the theater-although at times he underwent a struggle with his conscience when he did so; he was a frequent and gracious dinner host-until he arrived at middle life, when even this became too strenuous for him.
