Uranium, as the most important fuel for nuclear power operation, is crucial to ensure the sustainable development of nuclear power. However, the supply-demand contradiction of uranium resources in China has become increasingly prominent, and the gap needs to be filled by overseas development and international market procurement. The photoreduction and electroreduction of uranium under complex conditions are mainly targeted at uranium containing radioactive wastewater, real seawater, and other systems. Uranium containing radioactive wastewater comes from the processes of uranium mining, uranium enrichment, uranium conversion, and manufacture of nuclear fuel elements, with the characteristics of complex interfering ions. Although the total amount of uranium in seawater is very large, the concentration of uranium in seawater is low, making the extraction of uranium from seawater extremely challenging. On the one hand, the reserves of uranium in seawater are nearly a thousand times higher than those on land; on the other hand, the entire application process of the nuclear industry produces a large amount of uranium containing radioactive wastewater. If efficient separation of uranium from seawater and uranium containing radioactive wastewater can be achieved, it can promote the secondary supply of uranium resources and alleviate the supply-demand contradiction of uranium resources in China. Therefore, the development of uranium recovery and extraction technology from seawater and uranium containing radioactive wastewater is important for the sustainable development of the nuclear industry. This paper reviews the recent research progress in separating uranium in complex environments such as seawater and uranium containing radioactive wastewater. In terms of uranium speciation analysis, it describes the coordination environment of complex environmental uranyl and summarizes the advantages of photocatalysis and electrocatalysis in the fields of uranium extraction from uranium containing radioactive wastewater and seawater. In terms of designing photocatalysts, strategies such as element doping, metal loading, defect engineering, and introducing heterojunctions have been summarized for the preparation of photocatalytic semiconductor materials. The modification of functional groups on heterojunctions to regulate their energy band structure had introduced, which improved the overall performance of the material. The integration of selective adsorption and catalytic reduction, electrochemical methods can reduce soluble uranyl ions to neutral and insoluble products for separation, with advantages such as fast kinetics, wide extraction concentration range, and large separation capacity. However, there are also many key technical challenges in the practical application process, such as the competition between multiple cations and uranyl ions in complex systems, and the problem of excessive energy consumption caused by the competing reaction of water splitting during the cathodic uranium extraction process. In terms of electrocatalysis, various aspects such as electrode carrier selection, electrochemical device design, defect engineering, surface engineering, interface engineering, and microbial electrochemistry have been summarized to design electrocatalytic materials. In terms of key technical bottlenecks, combining photocatalysis and electrocatalysis technology with challenges in complex scenarios such as uranium speciation analysis, material functionalization design, intermediate reaction species analysis, uranium extraction mechanism analysis, cost control, and real-world application outcomes, relevant research have focused on challenges such as efficient photocatalytic reduction of uranium under natural light, identification of intermediate uranium species, uranium extraction from uranium containing radioactive wastewater, and seawater extraction from real ocean environments.

At present, the detection of mining subsidence basins by interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) mainly relies on underground mining data or human visual interpretation. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a deformation basin detection network (DBD-Net) for large-scale InSAR interferograms. At the same time, in order to train the network, a sample database of mining subsidence basins is established by using real differential interferogram data and simulated interferogram data. In Shendong Mining Area and Yanzhou Mining Area, three differential interference images with different time baselines were selected to verify the network performance. The results show that the detection accuracy of deformation basin detection network (DBD-Net) in large-scale InSAR interferograms for mining subsidence basins is 81.87%. Most of the missed and false detection areas are areas with serious noise pollution and unclear characteristics.

BackgroundPublic places are frequently polluted by cigarette smoking, and there is a lack of accurate, real-time, and intelligent monitoring technology to identify smoking behavior. It is necessary to develop a tool to identify cigarette smoking behavior in public places for more efficient control of cigarette smoking and better indoor air quality. ObjectiveTo construct a model for recognizing cigarette smoking behavior based on real-time indoor concentrations of PM2.5 in public places. MethodsReal-time indoor PM2.5 concentrations were measured for at least 7 continuous days in 10 arbitrarily selected places (6 public service providers and and 4 office or other places) from Oct. to Nov. 2022 in Pudong New Area, Shanghai. Indoor nicotine concentrations were monitored with passive samplers simultaneously. Outdoor PM2.5 concentration data were obtained from three municipal environmental monitoring stations which were nearest to each monitoring point during the same period. Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare indoor and outdoor means of PM2.5 concentrations, and Spearman rank correlation was used to analyze indoor PM2.5 and nicotine concentrations. An interactive plot and a random forest model was applied to examine the association between video observation validated indoor smoking behavior and real-time indoor PM2.5 concentrations in an Internet cafe. ResultsThe average indoor PM2.5 concentration in the places providing public services [(97.5±149.3) µg·m−3] was significantly higher than that in office and other places [(19.8±12.2) µg·m−3] (P=0.011). The indoor/outdoor ratio (I/O ratio) of PM2.5 concentration in the public service providers ranged from 1.1 to 19.0. Chengdao Oilfield is located in the modern Yellow River underwater delta, where the seabed strata are complex, and the sediment silt and silty clay have great interbedding changes. In recent years, an increasing number of jack-ups are installed and removed in the same wellhead or similar wellhead. There are risks of sliding pile, punch-through, and liquefaction and subsidence in the area where piles are repeatedly inserted and pulled out on offshore moving platform. Aimed at the risks, preventive measures are analyzed to reduce the risk of pile driving on jack-up platforms.

In the course of towing of offshore platform, it is of great significance to calculate the towing resistance ahead of time and select the main tugboat with proper power for towing safety. In this paper, the calculation formulas or recommended methods for towing resistance of mainstream classification societies were investigated, and a CFD/AQWA finite element numerical simulation was conducted for the typical jack-up offshore platform in Shengli Petroleum Engineering Company.Based on the comparative analysis of the results, a suitable model for the calculation of towing resistance of platforms in domestic waters was optimized, and a suitable towing factor of safety was proposed.

For widely applying Fe17Mn5Si10Cr5Ni memory alloy pipe joints in the connection and repair of seawater pipelines，the corrosion behaviors and mechanism of Fe17Mn5Si10Cr5Ni memory alloy in artificial seawater were analyzed by electrochemical test，corrosion surface analysis technology and corrosion product analysis technology.Results showed that Fe17Mn5Si10Cr5Ni memory alloy could undergo electrochemical corrosion in artificial seawater，and its self-corrosion potential at 3 h was -0.185 V.The self-corrosion potential decreased gradually with the increase of corrosion time，and the corrosion form of Fe17Mn5Si10Cr5Ni memory alloy in artificial seawater was pitting corrosion.Furthermore，the corrosion products were black brown and loose，with a poor adhesion and low bonding strength with the substrate.The corrosion products were Fe2O3，Fe3O4 and FeO(OH).

A multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) technique was developed for simultaneous detection of six food allergens: soy, sesame, peanut, almond, hazelnut and walnut. Six pairs of species-specific MLPA probes targeting the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences were designed and synthesized. The probes were hybridized with the target DNA, ligated and amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and the amplicons were detected using capillary electrophoresis, revealing that they could clearly discriminate the six food allergens. Good specificity of the MLPA system was observed for more than 20 plants, animals and bacteria. The limit of detection (LOD) of the assay was determined to be 5 mg/kg for model cookie spiked with different concentrations of the target species. The applicability of the MLPA assay was demonstrated through the analysis of 30 different commercial products, evidencing good performance in practical applications. Therefore, the MLPA technique is highly specific and sensitive and can provide technical support for the assessment, label management and risk control of food allergens.

Dysphonia analysis of Parkinson’s disease is the basis of information analysis for early diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease based on speech. In recent years, with the deepening of research, Mel transform domain information shows more and more advantages in this field. At the same time, the improvement of classification performance by extracting structural features is increasingly apparent. This paper proposes a method for local gradient statistical feature extraction in Mel transform domain from the point of the structure of Mel transform domain information of speech signals of people with Parkinson’s disease. Firstly, the speech signal is converted into the energy signal in the time-frequency transform domain by the method of Mel frequency transformation, and the energy spectrum is represented visually. Then, the energy data are processed by sliding window, and the local structure information of the Mel transform domain is obtained by calculating the gradient and angle of each energy point in the detection window. Finally, the gradients of the energy points of all detection windows are calculated according to the angles to obtain the local gradient statistical features, which represent the change of energy value in Mel transform domain. The results of the experiments performed on different datasets by different classifiers show that compared with the methods of Mel transform domain analysis, cepstrum analysis and deep learning, the local gradient statistical features in Mel transform domain are superior to them in classification accuracy and sensitivity, thereby verifying the effectiveness of the local gradient statistical feature in the dysphonia analysis of Parkinson’s disease.

In order to provide a basis for the design and application of carbon fiber reinforced resin matrix composites and aiming at the galvanic corrosion between carbon fiber composite materials and metals, the influences of CFRP type, metal material type, service environment and structural connection method on the above - mentioned galvanic corrosion were expounded based on the microstructure and performance characteristics of the carbon fiber and its composite materials. As the riveting, bolting and bonding between carbon fiber composite materials and metals could have different effects on the galvanic corrosion and there is little research on this aspect at present, this will be one of the important study contents in the future.

For slowing down the internal corrosion in crude oil pipeline, the failure mode, morphology and mechanism, as well as influence factors of internal corrosion in buried pipeline transporting purified crude oil were researched systematically. Results showed that the aqueous phase was deposited gradually in some locations during transport, and Cl - content could reach the maximum of 48 859.8 mg/L. In addition, the internal corrosion was mainly pitting and localized corrosion, and during the autocatalytic process of internal corrosion, the continuous migration of Cl - into the pits promoted the development of pitting corrosion, thus the Cl content at the pit bottom was higher than that at the surface by up to one order of magnitude. When the water content of the pipeline fluctuated in the range of 0.1% to 3.9%, the water content possessed little effect on the risk point of internal corrosion, and increasing the medium flow velocity had a more obvious effect on reducing the risk of internal corrosion. When the flow velocity increased to 2.00 m/s, the number of locations at risk of internal corrosion was reduced by 35.23% compared with that when actual flow velocity was 0.29 m/s.

In order to study the relationship between the macro-bending loss characteristics of the single-mode fiber and the temperature change, the thermo-optical effect and thermal expansion effect are corrected according to the theoretical formula proposed by Faustini L. Based on this formula, the macro-bending loss of SMF28 and 1060XP single-mode fiber with core-cladding-infinite coating structure under the influence of temperature is simulated and analyzed. The influence of temperature, wavelength, bending radius and other factors on the macro-bending loss of SMF28 single-mode fiber is explored, and the linear fitting results between the temperature and the two kinds of single-mode fibers are obtained. The results show that the macrobending loss increases with the decrease of bending radius, and the increase of wavelength. The loss also decreases with the increase of temperature. Under certain bending radius and wavelength, the macro-bending loss and temperature are in monotonic relationship, which means increasing the number of bending turns can effectively increase the sensitivity to temperature.

Lithium-rich manganese-based materials have attracted much attention because of their high charge-discharge capacity. In order to solve the problems of low coulombic efficiency, poor cycling performance and poor rate capability, lithium-ion conductor Li2ZrO3 with three-dimensional Li+ channel was employed to coat lithium-rich manganese-based cathode material Li[Li0.2Ni0.2Mn0.6]O2. According to the structure and morphological analysis, different amounts of Li2ZrO3 were successfully coated on the surface of the sample. When the thickness of the coating layer is 3 nm (1% coating amount, mass fraction), the electrochemical performance of the composite material is significantly improved. The first discharge specific capacity is 271.5 mAh·g-1 and the first coulombic efficiency is 72.4%. The first irreversible capacity loss is obviously reduced. The discharge specific capacity at 0.5 C is 191.5 mAh·g-1 and the capacity retention is 89.5%. The specific capacity at 5 C is 75 mAh·g-1 and the rate performance is improved. The results show that a uniform thickness of Li2ZrO3 coating layer can form a core-shell structure on the surface of the sample to make the sample more stable. It can reduce surface side reactions and prevent the formation of thicker SEI films. All of these results benefit from the high conductivity, high electrochemical stability and good lithium ion conductivity of Li2ZrO3 coating layer.

The experiment explored the effect of curing conditions on the component content of dried and air-dried corn. A two-factor experimental design was adopted, with drying methods and curing conditions as independent variables, drying methods at two levels, and curing conditions at ten levels. The results showed that the drying method had a significant effect on corn resistant starch content under maturation conditions (P<0.05), and the drying basis was significantly higher than the air-dried basis (P<0.05), maturation had a significant effect on corn starch content (P<0.05). The interaction of curing and drying methods had a significant effect on content of starch components (P<0.05). Compared with corn at 0 level (0 °C, 0 min), on other levels, amylopectin content, total starch content were decreased, the amylose content and the resistant starch content was increased. When the ripening time was 30~60 min and the ripening temperature was 120 °C, the corn was ripened, the air-dried base corn amylose content increased from 13.96% to 19.21%, and the total starch content increased from 68.49% to 71.17%. The content of resistant starch was relatively stable. The experiment indicates that under the condition of 30~60 min and a curing temperature of 120 °C, the content of air-dried corn amylose and total starch increase with the increase of the curing time, and the curing time has little effect on amylopectin and resistant starch. This study explored the influence of perceived value, perceived quality, and perceived risk on purchase intentions for green buildings. The theory of planned behavior (TPB) was used as the theoretical foundation. A conceptual framework model was constructed by integrating three psychosocial variables, namely, perceived value, perceived quality, and perceived risk. Parameters were evaluated using linear structural equation modelling (SEM). The survey participants were adult residents of Kaohsiung City who had social experience and economic capabilities. The survey was conducted from April 15 to June 15, 2017. In total, 400 questionnaires were administered and 400 questionnaires were returned; 26 invalid responses were excluded, yielding an effective response rate of 93.5%. The empirical results indicated a significant positive influence of perceived value on purchase intentions. Perceived quality and perceived risk were found to indirectly affect purchase intentions via perceived value. Purchase intentions were significantly and positively affected by self-awareness, perceived behavioral control, and social norms. The results of this study implied that higher perceived value, self-awareness, perceived behavioral control, and social norms can increase consumers' purchase intentions for green buildings. A comprehensive conceptual framework model integrating psychosocial variables and the TPB was found to be an important factor for the prediction of purchase intentions for green buildings. Through the moisture absorption and desorption experiments for the 66, 80, 90 and 100 S wool, it gots the moisture absorption and desorption curve and the fitting equation. Through statistical and compute it, the result that higher quality, finer fiber, and the moisture absorption and desorption regain rate were all increased, and the desorption regain rate of each fiber were greater than the absorption regain rate. The finer fibers' rate of the moisture absorption in the initial stage was greater, and through period of time, coarse fibers' moisture absorption rate was greater. PURPOSE: To evaluate the clinical effect of E-max porcelain laminate veneer on esthetic restoration for anterior teeth over 2 years. METHODS: E-max porcelain laminate veneer was used in 45 patients with 120 defective anterior teeth. Improved Ryge veneer reexamination standards including the integrity of ceramic veneer, marginal adaptation, gingival health and color match were adopted to evaluate the of clinical effect during 2 years of follow-up. RESULTS: The average satisfaction rate instantly after treatment, 1 year after treatment and 2 years after treatment was 93%, 95% and 94%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: E-max porcelain laminate veneer has fewer side effects, better aesthetics and biological characteristics. The treatment is cost-efficient, safe and long-lasting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AbstractObjective: To investigate the effect of γδ T cells on the proliferation, apoptosis and autophagy of multiple myeloma cells., Methods: Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMNC) were isolated from healthy volunteers, and stimulated with zoledronic acid (Zol) in combination with rhIL-2. Flow cytometry analysis was used to detected the purity of γδ T cells. γδ T cells were collected and co-cultured with RPMI-8226 or U-266 cells at different effector target ratios. The proliferation of RPMI-8226 or U-266 cell lines were detected by CCK-8. Cell cycle and cell apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry and Western blot．The expressions of autophagy-related proteins were detected by Western blot., Results: γδ T cells can be expanded in vitro. γδ T cells could inhibit the proliferation of RPMI-8226 or U-266 cells, induced cell cycle arrest and promoted apoptosis in an effector target-dependent manner. In addition, γδ T cells could induce autophagy of myeloma cells, inhibited the expression of autophagy-related PI3K, P-AKT and P-mTOR, while increased the expression of AMPK and Beclin-1., Conclusion: γδ T cells can inhibit the proliferation of RPMI-8226 and U-266 myeloma cells, induce cell cycle arrest, promote apoptosis, and enhance autophagy in vitro. The mechanism may be related to inhibition of PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway and/or activation of AMPK/Beclin-1 signaling pathway.

Objective: To investigate the effects of different doses of curcumin on the levels of immune factors CD11b and CD19 in peripheral blood of heat stroke rats in a simulation dry-heat environment., Methods: 160 SPF healthy male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were selected and divided into different groups according to random number table method: normal saline (NS) control group (given NS), solvent control group [given sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMCNa)], and curcumin low, medium and high dose pretreatment group (given 0.05, 0.10, 0.20 mg/g of curcumin+0.5% CMCNa solution). There were 32 rats in each group, and were challenged only by 10 mL×kg -1 ×d -1 lavage, and continuous dosing for 7 days. On the 8th day, rats were challenged at ambient temperature (41.0±0.5) centigrade, relative humidity (10±1)% of the northwest in the special environment of artificial lab, placed in 0 (normal temperature), 50, 100 and 150 minutes respectively. The levels of CD19 and CD11b in peripheral blood of each rat were detected by flow cytometry instrument., Results: With the extension of time in the simulated dry and heat environment, the level of CD11b in peripheral blood was gradually increased in each group, and the peak value was reached at 150 minutes, the NS control group, solvent control group and curcumin low, medium and high dose pretreatment groups were 0.346±0.013, 0.342±0.013, 0.342±0.012, 0.325±0.012, and 0.281±0.012, respectively. In each group, the level of CD19 was first increased and then decreased, reaching its peak value at 100 minutes, and the level of the NS control group, solvent control group and curcumin low, medium and high dose pretreatment groups were 0.586±0.010, 0.601±0.014, 0.684±0.009, 0.613±0.012 and 0.604±0.006, respectively. The level of CD11b in the curcumin medium and high dose pretreatment groups were significantly lower than those in the NS control group and solvent control group (50 minutes: 0.237±0.011, 0.188±0.006 vs. 0.283±0.009, 0.289±0.012; 100 minutes: 0.260±0.010, 0.248±0.008 vs. 0.293±0.008, 0.290±0.007, all P < 0.05), and after placement for 150 minutes, the level of CD11b in the curcumin high dose pretreatment group was significantly lower than that in the NS control group, solvent control group and curcumin low dose pretreatment group (0.281±0.012 vs. 0.346±0.013, 0.342±0.013, 0.342±0.012, all P < 0.05). The level of CD19 in the curcumin low, medium and high dose pretreatment groups were significantly higher than those in the NS control group and solvent control group at 50 minutes in the dry and hot environment (0.394±0.001, 0.436±0.009, 0.553±0.011 vs. 0.205±0.005, 0.197±0.003, all P < 0.05), at 100 minutes, the level of CD19 in the curcumin low dose pretreatment group was significantly higher than that in the NS control group and solvent control group (0.684±0.009 vs. 0.586±0.010, 0.601±0.014, both P < 0.05), there was no significant difference in CD19 level between the other dose pretreatment groups and NS control group; at 150 minutes, there was no significant difference in CD19 level between the curcumin pretreatment groups, the NS control group, and the solvent control group. The peripheral blood immune factors CD11b and CD19 levels in the NS control group and solvent control group were not significantly changed, and there was no significant difference between two groups., Conclusions: Curcumin pretreatment can reduce the level of CD11b and increase the level of CD19 in peripheral blood of rats with dry heat stroke in the early and middle stages, which may enhance the heat resistance and prevent the occurrence of multiple organ dysfunction by increasing the body immunity, and this effect has nothing to do with the dose of curcumin.

Objective: To analyze the pathological characteristics of superficial infiltrating squamous cell carcinoma of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD)., Methods: 187 cases of invasive squamous cell carcinoma after ESD operation were collected from 2016 Jan 31 to 2017 Dec 31. The tumor differentiation, invasion depth, infiltrative growth pattern (INF), tumor budding, angiovascular lymphatic invasion and margin were determined. The pathological diagnosis of endoscopic biopsy and surgical operation after ESD were searched., Results: The patients were aged from 42 to 83 years old, including 147 males and 40 females. 9.1% patients had carcinoma/intraepithelial neoplasia in other sites, among which gastric adenocarcinoma was the most common one. Well, moderately and poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma accounted for 0.5%, 41.7% and 15.0%, respectively, while the remaining 42.8% cases were microinvasion and were difficult to be graded. Mucosa lamina propria, muscularis mucosa and submucosa invasion accounted for 39.6%, 32.6% and 27.8%, respectively. Submucosa infiltration <200 μm (SM1) accounted for 9.1% and submucosa infiltration ≥200 μm (SM2) accounted for 18.7%. Lymphatic vessel invasion was related to the depth of tumor invasion, tumor budding, INF. The invasion rate of lymphatic vessels increased with the increase of infiltration depth and the grade of tumor budding. The lymphatic invasion rate in INFb/c group was higher than that in INFa group. There was no statistical difference in the incidence of lymphatic vessel invasion between well/moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma and poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. Multivariate analysis showed that tumor budding was an independent risk factor for lymphatic vessel invasion. The complete resection occupied 69.5% (130 cases), while most of incomplete resection cases (57 cases) were involved by low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia. 69 cases had biopsy after ESD, among which there were 46 cases (66.67%) with no recurrence, 19 cases (27.54%) with recurrence, and 4 cases (5.80%) occurring in other sites. There was no statistical difference in recurrent rate between the complete resection (28.3%, 13/46) and the incomplete resection (31.6%, 6/19, P >0.05)., Conclusions: Tumor invasion depth, INF, tumor budding andlymphatic vessel invasion should all be disclosed for the ESD specimen pathological report. Background: Managing increasing numbers of diabetic patients is placing increasing pressure on healthcare providers, especially general practitioners, who usually serve in multiple roles. This situation has caused generally poor results in terms of diabetes management. However, community nurses in some countries have successfully and effectively controlled chronic diseases among their patients. Therefore, the effects of nurse-led management is worth further exploration in order to better understand and promote this mode of care., Purpose: To explore the effects of community-nurse-led team management on diabetes patients., Methods: An experimental research design was adopted. Patients with type 2 diabetes were recruited from two community health centers (the first for the intervention group, the second for the control group) in Wuhou District, Chengdu City, China. The intervention group received nurse-led team management care for 2 years, while the control group received standard care. The evaluations were conducted before the intervention and at 6, 12, and 24 months into the intervention. Outcomes included glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level, body mass index, waist circumference, visual acuity, ankle brachial index, kidney function index, urinary protein level, and electrocardiogram., Results: The 179 participants included 88 in the intervention group and 91 in the control group. After the intervention, HbA1c level, ankle brachial index, and waist circumference were all significantly better in the intervention group than in the control group (F = 28.894, p < .01; F = 4.065, p < .01; F = 5.540, p < .01). The other outcome variables remained statistically similar between both groups throughout the study period., Conclusions: Community nurse-led team management is an effective mode of care in terms of controlling blood glucose control and preventing diabetes-related complications.

The objective of the research was to study the correlations between near infrared spectra and molecular structures of 20 standard amino acids. It was to establish the theoretical foundation for widely use of the amino acids near infrared spectra in animal science, food and medicine. Measurement of the near infrared spectra was performed using a Shimadzu Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer IRPrestige-21, with FlexIRTM Near-Infrared Fiber Optics module. The spectrometric data acquisitions were performed by Shimadzu IRsolution 1.50 system. The spectrometric room temperature was 25 ℃ and humidity was 38%. Spectra of 20 amino acid standard substances were collected by reflectance mode from 1 000 to 2 502 nm in 8 cm-1 increment. Each sample was scanned in three times, each scan was 50 cycles, and the average value of three times scan result was used for each sample. Based on the differences of amino acids side chains, the correlations between near infrared spectra and molecular structures were compared in the fat family amino acids, aromatic amino acids and heterocycle amino acids. The result shows that all 20 standard amino acids have very specific absorption line patterns. It is distinctly different in these absorption line patterns. Near-infrared spectra of high molecular weight fat family amino acids are affected by side chains. Near-infrared spectra of glycine are affected by carboxyl and amino. The differences of near-infrared spectra between two aromatic amino acids are in benzene ring. —OH groups on benzene ring of tyrosine lower the symmetry of benzene molecule. It leads to the emergence of more vibration absorption. Near-infrared spectra of heterocycle amino acids are distinctly different in 1 000～2 502 nm because of side chains. In conclusion, there are four different characteristic spectral regions. The first one is 1 050～1 200 nm spectral region which is composed mainly of second-order frequency doubling of C—H group. The second is 1 300～1 500 nm spectral region which is composed mainly of combination tune of C—H group. Due to side chains of amino acid have different molecular structure, they yield a complete set of near infrared fingerprint spectra between 1 600～1 850 and 2 000～2 502 nm. In another words, these four characteristic regions of near infrared spectra can be used to build the model of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis for amino acid, and improves the accuracy and reliability of model.

Objective: To investigate the treatment for tibial exposure wounds., Methods: 39 patients with tibial exposure wounds were divided into three groups according to the exposure location (upper, medium and below). The local muscular flaps were designed to cover the tibial exposure, followed by skin grafts and VSD. VSD was removed one week later., Results: All the muscular flap and skin graft survived. Mild epidermis erosion happened in 2 cases, which healed spontaneously after dressing. The patients were followed up for 3-6 months with good healing and no walking malfunction., Conclusions: The local muscular flap combined with skin graft and VSD is a simple and effective method for tibial exposure wound with short healing time and high successful rate.

Objective: To observe the effect of acupotomy (needle-knife) therapy on local pathological changes and cartilage-mechanics related protein expression in rabbits with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) so as to study its mechanisms underlying improving KOA., Methods: Forty New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into normal control group, model group, acupotomy group, and electroacupuncture (EA) group (n = 10 in each group). The KOA model was established by immobilization of the left knee-joint (modified Videman method) for 6 weeks. After modeling, acupotomy relaxing was applied to the lateral collateral ligament and patellar ligament of the left knee-joint, once a week for 3 times, and EA (2 Hz/100 Hz, 3 mA) was applied to the left "Yanglingquan" (GB 34), "Yinlingquan" (SP 9), "Neixiyan" (EX-LE 4) and "Waixiyan" (ST 35) for 20 min, 3 times a week for three weeks. The expression levels of Integrin β1, type II collagen (Col-II), matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-3 and Aggrecan proteins of the cartilage tissue of the left femoral medial and external condyles were observed by Western blot. Pathological changes of the knee-joint by X-ray scanning and those of the femoral condyle tissue were evaluated by Mankin's scores under light microscope after H. E. staining., Results: X-ray showed successful modeling, and pathological changes of the articular cartilage belonged to the early and moderate lesion of knee osteoarthritis. The Mankin's score was significantly higher in the model group than in the control group (P < 0.01) , and after the treatment, the Mankin's scores were significantly decreased in the acupotomy. group (P < 0.01), rather than in the EA group (P > 0.05). The results of Western blot showed that after modeling, the expression levels of Integrin β 1, Col-II and Aggrecan proteins of the femoral articular cartilage were considerably decreased (P < 0.01), while that of MMP-3 protein was significantly increased (P < 0.01). Compared with the model group, the decreased expression levels of Integrin β 1, Col-II and Aggrecan proteins in the acupotomy group and Integrin β 1 protein in the EA group were notably up-regulated (P < 0.01 , P < 0.05), and MMP-3 expression in the acupotomy group was significantly down-regulated (P < 0.01). No significant changes were found in the EA group in the expression levels of Col-II , Aggrecan and MMP-3 proteins compared with the model group (P > 0.05)., Conclusion: Acupotomy intervention can relieve KOA-induced injury of the knee-joint in KOA rats, which is associated with its actions in raising expression levels of Integrin β 1, Col-II and Aggrecan proteins and in lowering the expression of MMP-3 proteins in the articular cartilage, probably by adjusting the mechanics-related signal pathway of the articular chondrocytes.

Objective: To observe the effect of acupotomy, electroacupuncture (EA) or round-sharp acupuncture needle intervention on the expression of Bcl-2,Bax and Caspase-3 proteins in the rectus femoris in rabbits with knee ostarthritis (KOA), so as to explore their mechanisms underlying improvement of braking-induced joint damage from the cellular apoptosis., Methods: Forty-five New Zealand rabbits were equally and randomized into control group, model group, acupotomy (AP) group, EA group and round-sharp acupuncture needle (RSAN) group (n = 9 in each group). The knee-joint injury model was established by fixing the left knee joint in extention position with plaster bandage. EA (2 Hz/100 Hz, 3 mA, 20 min each time) was applied to the left "Yanglingquan" (GB 34)- "Yinlingquan" (SP 9) and left "Neixiyan" (EX-LE 4)- "Waixiyan"(ST 35) for rabbits in the EA group. The EA treatment was given once daily, 3 times a week, 3 weeks in total. For rabbits of the AP group, a needle-knife was held to insert into the front edge of the midpoint, the starting point and the stopping point of the left medial collateral ligamen, lateral collateral ligament and the patellar ligament of the knee to make a loosening manipulation for 5 times in a session of treatment, once a week, 3 times altogether. For rabbits of the RSAN group, a round-sharp needle was performed in the same way to the needle-knife including the stimulation point, the manipulation method and treatment sessions. At the end of the experiment, the left rectus femoris was taken out for detecting the expression of Bcl-2, Bax and Caspase-3 proteins with Western blot., Results: In comparison with the control group, the passive range of motion (PROM) level was significantly decreased 4, 8 and 12 weeks after modeling (P < 0.01), and the expression levels of Bax and Caspase-3 proteins in the rectus femoris were considerably upregulated in the model group (P < 0.05), while the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax was notably down-regulated (P < 0.05) in the model group. Compared with the model group, the PROM level at week 12 after modeling in the AP, EA and RSAN groups were significantly increased (P < 0.01); while Bax and Caspase-3 expression levels in both AP and RSAN groups were considerably downregulated (P < 0.05). No significant differences were found among the five groups in Bcl-2 expression levels (P > 0.05), and between the EA and model groups in Bax and Caspase-3 expression levels and the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax (P > 0.05)., Conclusion: AP, RSAN and EA interventions are effective in improving the knee-joint motion range in KOA rabbits, and this effect of both AP and RSAN is closely associated with their actions in lowering the expression of Bax and Caspase-3 proteins of the rectus femoris and in raising ratio of Bcl-2/Bax protein (reducing muscular cellular apoptosis). The mechanism of EA intervention in improving PROM may be different.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical effect of E-max porcelain laminate veneer on esthetic restoration for anterior teeth over 2 years., Methods: E-max porcelain laminate veneer was used in 45 patients with 120 defective anterior teeth. Improved Ryge veneer reexamination standards including the integrity of ceramic veneer, marginal adaptation, gingival health and color match were adopted to evaluate the of clinical effect during 2 years of follow-up., Results: The average satisfaction rate instantly after treatment, 1 year after treatment and 2 years after treatment was 93%, 95% and 94%, respectively., Conclusions: E-max porcelain laminate veneer has fewer side effects, better aesthetics and biological characteristics. The treatment is cost-efficient, safe and long-lasting.

In contrast to conventional methods for the determination of meat chemical composition, near infrared reflectance spectroscopy enables rapid, simple, secure and simultaneous assessment of numerous meat properties. The present review focuses on the use of near infrared reflectance spectroscopy to predict meat chemical compositions. The potential of near infrared reflectance spectroscopy to predict crude protein, intramuscular fat, fatty acid, moisture, ash, myoglobin and collagen of beef, pork, chicken and lamb is reviewed. This paper discusses existing questions and reasons in the current research. According to the published results, although published results vary considerably, they suggest that near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy shows a great potential to replace the expensive and time-consuming chemical analysis of meat composition. In particular, under commercial conditions where simultaneous measurements of different chemical components are required, near infrared reflectance spectroscopy is expected to be the method of choice. The majority of studies selected feature-related wavelengths using principal components regression, developed the calibration model using partial least squares and modified partial least squares, and estimated the prediction accuracy by means of cross-validation using the same sample set previously used for the calibration. Meat fatty acid composition predicted by near-infrared spectroscopy and non-destructive prediction and visualization of chemical composition in meat using near-infrared hyperspectral imaging and multivariate regression are the hot studying field now. On the other hand, near infrared reflectance spectroscopy shows great difference for predicting different attributes of meat quality which are closely related to the selection of calibration sample set, preprocessing of near-infrared spectroscopy and modeling approach. Sample preparation also has an important effect on the reliability of NIR prediction; in particular, lack of homogeneity of the meat samples influenced the accuracy of estimation of chemical components. In general the predicting results of intramuscular fat, fatty acid and moisture are best, the predicting results of crude protein and myoglobin are better, while the predicting results of ash and collagen are less accurate.

A method has been developed for the determination of hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD) in fire proof coatings by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The sample was extracted with dichloromethane and purified through an organic membrane before analysis with GC-MS. The characteristic fragments (m/z 157, 239, 319, 401) and the quantitative ion (m/z 239) were selected. With the optimized conditions, the good linear relationship was obtained between the peak area and the mass concentration of HBCD in the range of 5 to 100 mg/L with the correlation coefficient more than 0. 999. The spiked recoveries in the coatings of acrylic and epoxy resins were 92.9% - 116.3% with the RSDs not more than 8%. The LOD (S/N > or = 3) of HBCD was 30 microg/g, and the LOQ (S/N > or = 10) was 100 microg/g, which were much lower than the international maximum residue limit. The method is simple, quick, accurate and precise, which can meet the requirements of the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 and Norway PoHS instruction (Prohibition on Certain Hazardous Substances in Consumer Products) for the determination of HBCD. It is suitable for the analysis of HBCD in fire proof coatings.

Objective: To explore the efficacy of Jinghuaweikang capsules plus triple therapy (LACJ) in treatment of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) associated gastritis or duodenal ulcer, compare it with bismuth-containing quadruple therapy (LACB) and standard triple therapy (LAC) and analyze the antibiotic sensitivity of gastric mucosal H. pylori strains from the failed patients., Methods: A total of 565 patients with H. pylori infection were recruited from 11 hospitals from January 2010 to June 2011. There were 336 males and 229 females. They underwent gastroendoscopy examination due to upper gastrointestinal symptoms and had never received H. pylori eradication therapies. Duodenal ulcer patients were divided randomly into LACJ therapy group, LACB therapy group and LAC therapy group while gastritis patients LACJ therapy group and LACB therapy group. Group LAC received lansoprazole 30 mg + amoxicillin 1000 mg + clarithromycin 500 mg, twice a day, for 7 d (d1-7). Group LACJ: LAC therapy plus Jinghuaweikang, 3 capsules, twice a day, for 7 d (d1-7) then Jinghuaweikang, 3 capsules, twice a day, for 14 d (d8-21). Group LACB: LAC plus bismuth potassium citrate 220 mg, twice a day, for 7 d (d1-7) and then bismuth potassium citrate 220 mg, twice a day, for 14 d (d8-21). All duodenal ulcer patients received lansoprazole (30 mg, once a day) for 14 days after the first 7-day of treatment (d 8-21). At least 28 days after the end of treatment, all patients underwent (13)C urea breath test. Gastric mucosa was collected under endoscopy from the failed patients. The detection technique of gene chip was employed to detect antibiotics resistant gene from mucosa., Results: The eradication rates of duodenal ulcer patients in groups LACJ, LACB and LAC were as follows: per-protocol (PP), 80.2% (77/96), 89.9% (89/99) and 72.2% (70/97) (P = 0.007), intention-to-treat (ITT), 78.6% (77/98), 88.1% (89/101) and 70.0% (70/100) (P = 0.007). No statistical differences existed between groups LACJ and LACB or LAC (all P > 0.05). But there were statistical differences between groups LACB and LAC (both P = 0.002). The eradication rates of PP and ITT of chronic gastritis patients in groups LACJ and LACB were as follows: 75.8% (97/128), 74.6% (97/130) vs 83.8% (109/130), 80.1% (109/136) (both P > 0.05). The symptomatic improvements of abdominal pain, burning and acid reflux of duodenal ulcer patients in group LACJ were higher than those in groups LACB and LAC. There were statistical differences between groups LACJ and LAC (all P < 0.05). The symptomatic improvements of bloating and belching for chronic gastritis patients in group LACJ were higher than those of group LACB. But no significant difference existed between two groups (all P > 0.05). Sixty samples of gastric mucosa were collected from the failed patients. The detection rates of antibiotic-resistant gene to clarithromycin and amoxicillin were 60.0% (36/36) and 18.3% (11/60) respectively., Conclusions: The efficacy of LACJ for the treatment of H. pylori infection patients is similar to LACB and superior to LAC. And the symptomatic improvement of patients is better than the other two regimens. The main cause of treatment failure is antibiotic resistance of H. pylori strains.

Objective: To investigate the expressions of CD4+ CD25(high) regulatory T cells, TGF-beta 1 and COX-2 in the peripheral blood of prostate cancer (PCa) patients, and analyze the role of CD4+ CD25(high) regulatory T cells in the pathogenesis of PCa and their relationship with TGF-beta 1 and COX-2., Methods: We used flow cytometry to calculate the percentage of CD4+ CD25(high) regulatory T cells in the CD4+ T cells in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from 30 PCa patients (11 localized and 19 non-localized cases) and 20 healthy volunteer controls, determined the expressions of TGF-beta 1 and COX-2 in the serum by ELISA, and analyzed their correlation with the CD4+ CD25(high) regulatory T cells in the PCa patients as well as the differences between the localized and non- localized cases., Results: CD4+ CD25(high) regulatory T cells accounted for (18.32 +/- 7.49) % in the CD4+ T cells in PBMCs from the PCa patients, significantly higher than (7.77 +/- 1.86) % from the controls (P < 0.05), but with no statistically significant difference between pre- and post-treatment in the PCa patients (P > 0.05). The expressions of TGF-beta 1 and COX-2 in the peripheral blood were (215.97 +/- 55.16) ng/ml and (6.88 +/- 5.14) ng/ml in the PCa patients, in comparison with (149.75 +/- 47.11) ng/ml (P < 0.05) and (6.88 +/- 5.14) ng/ml (P > 0.05) in the controls. Multiple linear regression analysis showed no significant correlation between the expression of CD4+ CD25(high) regulatory T cells in PBMCs and those of TGF-beta 1 and COX-2 in the peripheral blood of the PCa patients. There were no significant differences between the localized and non-localized PCa groups in the expressions of CD4+ CD25(high) regulatory T cells, TGF-beta 1 and COX-2 (P > 0.05)., Conclusion: CD4+ CD25(high) regulatory T cells in in PBMCs are involved in the pathogenesis of PCa. The proliferation of CD4+ CD25(high) regulatory T cells is not significantly correlated to the expressions of TGF-beta 1 and COX-2 in the peripheral blood, but maybe to the tumor itself and the local tumor microenvironment.

Objective: To investigate the safety and therapeutic effects of monosegment pedicle instrumentation in treating incomplete thoracolumbar burst fracture., Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 56 inpatients with incomplete thoracolumbar burst fracture (AO classification: A3.1 and A3.2) from April 2005 to January 2010. There were 28 cases were fixed with monosegment pedicle instrumentation (MSPI), 28 cases were fixed with short segment pedicle instrumentation (SSPI). The operative time, blood loss, visual analogue scale (VAS) and vertebral kyphotic angle (VK) before and after surgery were evaluated., Results: In the group of MSPI, the mean operative time was (93 ± 20) min; the intraoperative blood loss was (184 ± 64) ml; the VK angle was 17° ± 10° before operation, 7° ± 7° at one week after operation, and 10° ± 7° at latest follow-up; VAS score was 7.6 ± 1.5 before operation, 2.4 ± 0.8 at one week after operation, and 1.5 ± 0.9 at latest follow-up; no adjacent segment degeneration was found. In the group of SSPI, the operative time was (102 ± 30) min; the intraoperative blood loss was (203 ± 88) ml; the VK angle was 17° ± 9° before operation, 7° ± 7° at one week after operation, and 8° ± 5° at latest follow-up; VAS score was 6.8 ± 1.3 before operation, 3.1 ± 0.5 at one week after operation, and 1.2 ± 0.7 at latest follow-up. One case of adjacent segment degeneration was found in 36 months after operation. There were no significantly statistical differences between two groups in operative time, blood loss, VAS score and VK angle before and after surgery (P > 0.05). The VAS score and VK angle at one week after surgery and latest follow-up all decreased obviously than preoperative ones in both groups (P < 0.05)., Conclusions: MSPI for incomplete thoracolumbar burst fracture is effective and safe. The operative blood loss, the mean operative time, the improvement of VAS score and the VK angle in group MSPI are equal to those in group SSPI.

Objective: To study the selective cytotoxic effect of lentivirus-mediated double suicide gene (CD/TK) against human gastric carcinoma cells SGC-7901 in vitro., Methods: SGC-7901 cells were infected with FGW-KDRP-CD/TK vector and the infection efficiency was observed under a fluorescence microscope. The morphological changes of the infected cells were observed by Giemsa staining. Flow cytometry (FCM) was employed for cell cycle analysis, and the expression of CD/TK was detected by RT-PCR. The infected cells were then treated with the prodrugs ganciclovir (GCV) and/or 5-fluorocytosine (5-FC) at different concentrations, and the cytotoxic effects were evaluated using MTT method., Results: The infection efficiency of the lentiviral vector in SGC-7901 cells increased with the titer of the virus, which produced no significant effect on the cancer cell morphology in vitro or on the percentages of G0-G1, G2-M and S phase cells (P>0.05). RT-PCR demonstrated the expression of CD/TK gene in SGC-7901 cells infected by FGW-KDRP-CD/TK. The infected cells were highly sensitive to the prodrugs with a dose-dependent cytotoxic effect within a specific concentration range of the drugs, whereas the non-infected cells were not sensitive to the prodrugs. Combined use of the two prodrugs produced an obviously stronger inhibitory effect than either of the them (P<0.05). When combined, GCV and 5-FC at the concentration of 0.1+40, 1+80, 10+160, and 100+320 mg/L demonstrated a synergetic effect with a CDI<1., Conclusion: Lentivirus-mediated CD/TK fusion gene system can selectively kill gastric cancer cells, and the two prodrugs show a synergistic cytotoxic effect.

Objective: To develop a new method for the detection of male human papillomavirus (HPV) genotypes and to investigate its clinical application value., Methods: With computer assistance and based on the classical common primers MY09/11, modified PGMY09/11 with 23 HPV subtypes for PCR and Genbank data on HPV, we designed probes for the simultaneous detection of 18 high-risk subtypes (HPV-16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 53, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68, 73, 83 and MM4) and 5 low-risk subtypes (HPV-6, 11, 42, 43 and 44) and fixed them to the special membrane to make a DNA chip. A total of 112 male urethral samples were collected with swabs and studied for the clinical value. Meanwhile the single subtypes of HPV positive were sequenced and the standard samples detected for their sensitivity., Results: Of the total number, 25 samples were found to be HPV positive, 13 single HPV infection and 12 multiple infection. Nine HPV gene subtypes were noted in the samples: 6, 11, 16, 18, 33, 35, 43, 56 and 73, with sensitivity up to 10 copies of HPV DNA., Conclusion: Human papillomavirus genotyping by the membrane DNA chip is applicable to the diagnosis of male HPV infection as well as to the related epidemic and etiological investigation.

SD rat model of PCP was established by subcutaneous injection with dexamethasone. The treatment groups received Fructus Psoralea (FP, 10.0 mg/kg), Brucea javanica (BJ, 1.2 mg/kg) and a mixture of the two Chinese herbs(FP 5mg/kg, BJ 0.6 mg/kg) respectively. By means of detecting the level of IL-2 in sera and NK cells in spleens, the effect of FP and BJ on the level of IL-2 and NK cells in rats with Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) was observed, with SMZco treatment group (TMP 50 mg/kg, SMZ 250 mg/kg) and groups of infected and normal rats as controls. Compared with the infected group, the level of IL-2(526.1 +/- 5.5) pg/ml and NK cells (27.1% +/- 0.8%) significantly increased in the FP group (P < 0.01), followed by the FP/BJ combination group [(314.7 +/- 6.7) pg/ml, 22.9% +/- 0.9%) (P < 0.05)], and BJ group [(285.4 +/- 6.1) pg/ml, 20.7% +/- l.0%) (P < 0.05)]. Chinese herbs Fructus Psoralea and Brucea javanica show an immune regulatory action on the PCP rats.

With pot experiment, this paper studied the quantitative variations of bacteria, actinomyces, mould and yeast in soils of peanut intercropped with medicinal plants, aimed to test if such an intercropping pattern could remove the obstacles of peanut's continuous cropping. The results showed that Atractylodes lancea and Euphorbia pekinensis had the strongest inhibitory effect on mould. Compared with CK (mono-cropping peanut), the CFU of mould in the treatments intercropped with A. lancea and E. pekinensis was decreased by 53.87% and 29.59%, respectively during flowering-pegging stage of peanut, but increased after harvesting, which was in favor of substance circulation and nutrient returning. The CFU of bacteria in treatments intercropped with A. lancea, E. pekinensis and Pinellia ternate was all increased, and that of yeast in all five intercropping treatments was increased during the flowering-pegging stage of peanut. No familiar pathogens were found in the treatments intercropped with A. lancea, E. pekinensis and Diosoren zingiberebsis. Peanut intercropped with medicinal plants could regulate soil microbial community effectively.

Objective: To investigate the effect of the immunosuppressant Tacrolimus (FK506) on the osteoblastic differentiation and in vivo osteogenic inducement of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs)., Methods: MSCs were derived from Fischer 344 rats. Some MSCs were cultured with L-ascorbic acid-2-phosphate (AsAP) and beta-glycerophosphate (beta-GP) or FK506 plus AsAP and beta-GP. The alkaline phosphatase (APase) activity and calcium deposition were detected 4, 8, 12, and 16 days after the culture. Scanning electron microscopy was used to examine the calcified nodules. Northern blotting was used to detect the mRNA expression of osteocalcium. Multiparous beta-tricalcium phosphate (beta-TCP) ceramic cubes were dipped into 2 kinds of suspension of MSCs, treated by FK506 + AsAP + beta-GP or AsAP + beta-GP, so as to produce 48 pieces of MSCs/beta-TCP complex that were randomly divided into 2 equal groups to be cultured with AsAP + beta-GP or AsAP + beta-GP + FK506 for 4 weeks. The these pieces were transplanted into the subcutaneous sites of the rats' backs and were taken out 4 and 8 weeks later respectively for histological examination., Results: In vitro assays showed that the APase activity, calcium deposition, expression of osteocalcin mRNA of the FK506 + AsAP + beta-GP group at any time points were all significantly higher than those of the AsAP + beta-GP group (all P < 0.05). SEM showed that since the 16th day after culture calcified nodules began to be seen in the FK506 + AsAP + beta-GP group. Since the 4th weeks after transplantation remarkable new bone formation could be seen in the FK506 treated MSCs/beta-TCP complexes in comparison with those MSCs/beta-TCP complexes without treatment with FK506., Conclusion: Greatly enhancing the in vitro osteoblastic differentiation and in vivo osteogenesis of MSCs, FK506 has a potential value as a bone growth factor and may improve the clinical result of bone transplantation used to treat large bone defect. The results of this experiment also contributes to a better understanding on the mechanism of immunosuppressants.

Rats with Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) were established by hypodermic injection of dexamethasone and treated by Brucea javanica combined with Fructus Psoraleae 2 ml (Brucea javanica 0.12 mg and Fructus Psoraleae 1.0 mg) per rat per day for 7 days or 14 days. The effect of cyst-killing and the pathological change were observed under transmission electron microscope. Lung damage was alleviated or repaired, and a significant reduction of cysts was shown in the treatment group. The results show that a combination of Brucea javanica and Fructus Psoraleae played a significant restraining and killing effect on cysts, and helped repair the impairment of pneumonia.

Objective: To study the therapeutic efficacy of Lixue Xiaoyin Decoction (LXD) in treating psoriasis and its effect on plasma endothelin (ET)., Methods: Two hundred and twenty patients were divided into two groups. LXD was taken orally by the 118 patients in the treated group, while Compound Qingdai Capsule (CQC) taken orally by the 102 patients in the control group. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated after 8 weeks of treatment. The ET content was determined by radioimmunoassay before and after treatment., Results: The total effective rate was 73.72% in the treated group and 54.90% in the control group with significant difference (chi2 = 8.52, P < 0.01). The plasm ET level in patients was significantly higher than that in the healthy subjects. ET in both groups was all lowered after treatment, but the decrement was more obvious in the treated group, showing significant difference when compared with that in the control group (P < 0.01)., Conclusion: LXD shows good therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of psoriasis. It can improve the microcirculation, inhibit the division of epithelial cells, promote the epidermic cell differentiation, and shows regulative effect on plasma ET.

Objective: The quality control method of "Lü Kang Yin Xing Ye Pian" (LKYXYP) was studied and established., Method: The ginkgolides in LKYXYP were identified by TLC. The compounds of fatty acids in Perillae oil were determined by CC/MS. Flavones, ginkgolides and ginkgolic acids were determined by HPLC., Result: There were good linears relationship between the peak area and concentration, r = 0.999, RSD = 1.2% - 2.5% (n = 5), and recoveries of each composition was above 95%, the contation was stable in 24h., Conclusion: This method is proved to be accurate and able to be applied for the quality control of this preparation.

A pot experiment was conducted to study the bio-environmental effects of lime and organic manure application on red soil and paddy soil derived from red sandstone and polluted by multi-heavy metals. The results indicated that liming decreased the content of soil bioavailable Cu and Pb extracted with 0.05 mol/L HCl, while applying hog manure increased that of Cd. Soil bioavailable heavy metals (HMs) showed an apparent relationship with soil dissolved carbon. Applying lime and organic manure has a positive physiological effect on soil microorganisms and sweet potato. Many indexes, i.e. the number of soil actinomycetes, the content of HMs in the root of sweet potato, showed the remarkable relationship with soil bioavailable Cu, Cd and Pb. However, some indexes of soil and plant only relative to one or two soil bioavailable HMs. For example, soil microbial biomass carbon correspondent with soil bioavailable Cd. Only the content of Cu in the stem and leaf showed a notable relationship with soil effective Cu. Soil effect Cu and Pb rather Cd showed remarkable relation with mean transpiration rate, total biomass and leaf area index of sweet potato. The daily mean value in the seedling stage showed a stronger relationship with soil bioavailable Cu and Pb. Therefore these two physiological indexes can reflect the change of soil metallic contamination.

Background: To study the expression of survivin mRNA in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and to explore its relationship with carcinogenesis, development invasion and metastasis of NSCLC., Methods: In situ hybridization was applied to detect survivin mRNA expression in 12 normal bronchial epithelium, 9 dysplasia, 34 NSCLC and 12 metastatic lymph nodes. The relationship between survivin expression and clinicopathological characteristics was analyzed., Results: In normal bronchial epithelium, dysplasia, NSCLC and metastatic lymph nodes, the positive rate of survivin mRNA expression were 16.67% (2/12), 33.33% (3/9), 61.76% (21/34), and 91.67% (11/12), respectively. There were significant differences in survivin mRNA expression between lung cancer and normal bronchial epithelium ( P < 0.01), as well as between metastatic lymph nodes and normal bronchial epithelium ( P < 0.001). There were remarkably higher survivin mRNA expressions in poor- and moderate-differentiated groups than that in well-differentiated group ( P =0.003, P =0.004). The expression of survivin mRNA was not related to histologic classification and lymph node status ( P > 0.05, P > 0.05)., Conclusions: Survivin mRNA expression may play an important role in the carcinogenesis and development of NSCLC. It may be a new target in gene therapy of lung cancer through blocking or down-regulating survivin mRNA expression to recover the normal regulation mechanism of apoptosis.
