The ideological and political construction of professional courses is one of the important directions of the current higher education reform. The construction of the ideological and political teaching system is an important innovative measure to realize the cultivation of moral education in colleges and universities. As a main course of biology, cell engineering is one of the earliest courses of ideological and political teaching reform in our school. As an interdisciplinary subject of science and technology, cell engineering has the dual characteristics of scientific exploration and social responsibility. Therefore, we should aim at cultivating the scientific spirit and social responsibility of students, and promote their all-round development through the reform of teaching contents and methods. Based on the main channel of the classroom, we strive to explore the ideological and political elements contained in the teaching content fully, integrate with the teaching of professional knowledge and skills organically, and have achieved good results in the process of teaching practice. This paper focuses on five aspects to detail the ideological and political contact combination strategy of the cell engineering course, including the combination of “teaching and educating” and “teaching by example”, the combination of “professional contents” and “ideological and political elements”, the combination of “elder stories” and “patriotism”, the combination of “historical review” and “frontier outlook”, the combination of “ideological and political methods” and “professional characteristics”, and strive to achieve moral education and cultivate people, thereby educating them. By organically integrating ideological and political elements into the cell engineering curriculum, we can promote the cultivation of their ideological quality and social responsibility. While imparting professional knowledges, it guides students to establish a correct vision on life and values, and render them cell engineering talents with scientific spirits, ethical consciousness, and social responsibility.
