The article explores the epidemic violence in Mosul, Iraq wherein the Kurdish military force comprising three brigades from the Peshmerga forces entered Mosul city without government approval and had exercised power on residents with the aim of Kurdizing them. It notes that a suicide truck bomber had killed two policemen and wounded 45 others, and in a separate incident, gunmen had killed a woman and a generator operator. It indicates that a bomb hidden in a street stall had killed five children and injured two others. Moreover, the Kurds emphasize that they will not abandon the city until they reclaim five areas in Nineveh Province, putting them on the political collision course with the central government.
