Due to its impact on all human activity, the new virus has therefore aroused increased interest in research. A large number of medical papers related to COVID-19 have been published as a result of the scientific community response to this emerging infectious disease. All measures that combat the spread of the disease came at a cost and the people had to add one more hardship which contributed to the rise in social inequality. Moreover, the costs for internet access, proper equipment to support online education, private healthcare, facemasks, and disinfectants have become a burden for a segment of Romanian society. In this study, 18 Romanian universities a Medicine bachelor specialisation, both public and private, were analysed to determine the dataset query from Web of Science. Our research aimed to assess the impact of COVID-19 papers written by authors affiliated with Romanian universities with a medicine specialisation, which are the factors that influence the likelihood of a paper being cited and how the number of citations varies by university type. The obtained results reveal that University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila" from Bucharest records the highest number of published papers, while "APOL-LONIA" University of Iași has the highest number of citations in both WOS Core Collection and in all WOS Databases per research. Furthermore, there is a significant difference in the number of citations between papers with and without a PUB MED ID. Logistic models show that neither the type of university nor the property type of the university (public or private) are determinants of the likelihood of an article being cited in the WOS core collection or in all WOS databases. As a consequence, a research paper with PUB MED ID and a higher number of pages, has a higher chance to be cited. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Both social media marketing and the digital activity of Instagram influencers have transformed the virtual landscape of book promotion. In other words, the growth of the #bookstagram community has given the entire publishing industry the opportunity to interact with potential readers and, by extension, increase product visibility through the social media platform Instagram. With this in mind, the present study aims to deepen the importance of promotion techniques within bookstagram and, moreover, to portray the modern methods implemented as central pillars in 21st century marketing strategies. Therefore, the paper investigates the broad spectrum of online approaches accessible to book influencers in the field of social media marketing through qualitative research, with in-depth interviews as the research method. As promotion can be achieved through a number of valuable techniques, the research focuses on highlighting the bookstagram tour, but also other equally effective strategies in terms of expanding the target audience and maximizing interactions. Moreover, there is the approach of types of posts, the involvement of awards or even touching on divergent topics of the books. Thus, by examining the phenomenon present in social media - influencer marketing and their methods of attracting consumer attention, the paper helps to build on the literature and offers new insights for both publishers and influencers. In particular, the research contributes to the evolving information on influencer marketing and highlights the importance of incorporating social media into marketing strategies to keep the online landscape current and dynamic. Inflation is a concern for both businesses and people, and it is affected by many factors. In this paper, we tried to touch on the effect of the Russia - Ukraine war on inflation. The research questions are: "Is inflation higher after the war began?", "Is the inflation higher in Romania after the war began?" and "Is the inflation higher in countries who are near to the war?" The data analyzed in this paper was extracted from Eurostat for 34 countries, for the period of 2017-2022. The conclusion is that inflation was higher in all analyzed countries after the war started and was more substantial for Romania and for the countries that were near the conflict. The growing importance of sustainable energy sources, driven by environmental concerns and energy security, has led to increased interest in the biomass sector's impact on economic growth. This study employs multiple linear regression analysis to examine how the biomass sector influences Romania's economic landscape. The aim of this research is to unravel the sector's dynamics, understanding its contribution to the national economy, and exploring its potential in advancing sustainable development objectives. A comprehensive literature review delves into past studies probing the relationship between the biomass sector and economic growth, with an emphasis on the Romanian context. Key economic indicators and variables are identified and included in the regression model. The empirical analysis is based on data obtained from various sources, allowing for a robust examination, and the results of the multiple linear regression analysis reveal significant insights into the dynamics of the biomass sector's impact on economic growth in Romania. Furthermore, potential confounding factors are considered, and their influence on the findings is discussed. The paper also includes a stakeholder analysis for using black pellets as the biomass option of choice in the energy sector. Contributing to existing knowledge, the research sheds light on Romania's biomass sector specific context, while discussing practical and policy implications, and offering guidance to stakeholders and policymakers in sustainable energy and economic development. Emphasising the pivotal role of biomass in economic growth, the study underscores the need for informed decision making and policy development to nurture this sector in Romania. The International Colloquium of Social Sciences and Communication ACUM (NOW) took place in Brasov in between 17th and 19th of October 2019, over three sunny autumn days. The event was organized by the Faculty of Sociology and Communication of the University Transylvania and by the Society of Sociologists of Romania. The keynote speakers were: Bogdan Voicu (R.I.Q.L.) with a communication about migration as a double osmosis, Robbie Gilligan (University of Dublin), with a paper about working with vulnerable young people, Sylvie Huet, (University of Clermond), who investigated the "glass ceilings", and Mihai Burlacu, from the Bucharest Polytechnic, with a reconsideration of the anthropological space as heterotopia. The colloquium organized by SSR is already part of a local university tradition of national and international openness. Slowly but steadily, a real international character of scientific manifestations in Romania is formed, much less cosmopolitan than similar conferences in the global West, but with a constant presence of foreign guests and participants who bring a much needed diversity of perspectives and research themes. During the works, we received a very careful reception from colleagues in sessions that put together various contributions, from long-term individual research topics to recent exploratory research.The event was one that confirmed its success over the years, thus strengthening Brasov's place on the map of social sciences in Romania. Over more than three decades since the fall of state socialism in Central and Eastern Europe, the position of the Roma in the region is rather ambivalent. Numerous European institutions, inter-governmental development agencies, national governments and European and national/local non-governmental organizations are involved in a pan-European effort to turn the tide for the Roma. The paper argues that although there are numerous efforts to implement development policies and programs to bridge the gap between Roma and non-Roma, there is still a gap between the discourses and inclusion policies developed at the European and national level and those at the sub-national level. There is a tendency to move away from the framing of Roma as an “at risk” group to seeing them as “dangerous people”, who pose threats to the security of others. The paper uses two sets of data sources. First, it employs a secondary analysis of three recent databases: – SocioRoMap – Sociographic mapping of Roma communities in Romania for community-level monitoring of changes regarding Roma integration (2017) and two surveys conducted by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (2011 and 2016). The second data source is based on semi-structured interviews carried out in several research projects that the author has participated in over the last few years. In conclusion, I argue that the two political projects of institutional developmentalism and securitization of the lifestyle of the poorest Roma can coexist, but the abandonment of the former can lead to complex social problems in the future. Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to gain knowledge about the current state of economic impact of photography consumption in Romania. This article's aim is to explore art photography market development in Romania and possible influences of art photography consumption on national economy. Design/methodology/approach - Several public databases were consulted to gain information regarding Romanian art photography market. An art photography overview was done. There were analysed subjects as: art photography impact on national economy, how much photography studios are in Romania, how much art photography exhibitions are done in Romania annually. Findings - Photography has weak influences on the national economy compared to other industries. Photography has a major social impact that can also be correlated with economic growth. The concept of decent work and the job quality indicators have long been topics of research and debate among academia. The concept of job quality has emerged as intended to promote social and economic well-being through proactive interest and concern in the wants and needs of individuals at work. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the quality of job-related conditions in the field of caregiving for elderly people and children in the context of Romanians' East-West migration. The present paper's purpose was accomplished using a structured questionnaire. The findings underscore the fact that migrant Romanians working in the caregiving area experience proper working conditions, with the job quality standards frequently met. However, certain job quality challenges have been identified, such as issues connected to work accidents and burnout prevention, unclear employment conditions, or overtime pay that is not always complying with legal requirements. This paper investigates the impact of macroeconomic factors and COVID-19 on the Romanian Stock Exchange using monthly data spanning from March 2020 to September 2022. This time frame is selected to capture the evolution of the pandemic and to consider all the major waves of infections that Romania faced. We employ the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) - Bounds Test technique for estimation. ARDL is chosen as the econometric model due to its suitability for capturing the dynamics of both short-run and long-run relationships. Since the COVID-19 pandemic severely interrupted financial markets and the real economy globally, this analysis also includes COVID-19 related variables to observe the effect of the economic hiatus on the domestic stock market. The originality of this paper lies in its pioneering approach of incorporating both macroeconomic variables and COVID-19-related factors into the same econometric model. At the time of writing, this paper stands out as one of the few studies that comprehensively examine the impact of both macroeconomic conditions and the specific challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic on the Romanian Stock Exchange during various waves of infections. Results indicate that macroeconomic and COVID-19 variables have an impact on the Romanian Stock Market. In both the short run and long run, the exchange rate seems to have the most significant influence on the stock market. This research paper analyses a series of indicators which characterize eight European capital markets and their respective countries during 2012-2022, as well as the relationship between capital markets’ size and economy. Capital markets play a vital role in facilitating capital flows, supporting investment projects, and contributing to economic growth. Vice versa, macroeconomic influence on the capital markets is also thoroughly researched and the respective paper sets grounds for further analysis of the link between the two: macroeconomy and capital markets. When discussing capital markets, variables we look at usually measure its size, in terms of market capitalization, or its relative size to the economy, as market capitalization to GDP, used more often as comparable between markets. One can note that the recovery after the global financial crisis was different by country or region, with various speeds of growth. On the contrary, COVID-19 pandemic hit all the markets disregard of the size or stage of development. All countries recorded increase in the GDP during the analysed period, largest being for Poland and Hungary. The size of capital markets in nominal values increased in 5 out of 8 markets, leaving on the negative territory market capitalization of Spain, United Kingdom, and Poland. The present paper is an X-ray of the digitalization of public administration in Romania, within the context of the Decade of Digital program committed by the European Commission for the year 2030. The process of digital transformation in public administration has visibly accelerated over the past three years, with one of the favorable factors being the COVID-19 pandemic, which imposed physical restrictions on citizens and forced public administration to migrate their interactions with citizens online. The paper highlights the monitoring indicators and progress regarding Europe's digital performance, specifically analyzed for the domain of Digitalization of Public Services. For each of the five indicators, Romania's achievements are presented based on data from the Authority for Digitalization in Romania (ADR). Despite our country's significant accomplishments in this field, visible to Romanians and appreciated by citizens who use technology in their interactions with government institutions, Romania still ranks last in the EU concerning digital public services in 2023. The digitalization of public administration is a pertinent and significant subject matter at the European Union level, and by extension, at the national level in Romania. The primary goal of this study is to examine the process of digitalization in public administration and assess the implications generated by the adoption of e-government services on several macroeconomic variables, namely economic growth, quality of life and potential growth. In this perspective, we shall undertake an analysis of the advantages that digitalization confers, as well as the trajectory that digitalization follows within Romania's public administration. Also, the paper shows several models of best practices with varying levels of digitalization observed within public administration and public services at the European Union (EU) level, as a possible direction that Romanian policy makers can adopt, considering the current level of digitalization and the competitiveness environment al EU level when it comes to the future of IT&C. The paper concludes that countries that had a forward-looking perspective and adopted digitalization measures for public administration in the past will now use the Recovery and Resilience Funds to develop Internet 4.0 elements to solve problems and compute data, as a way of revolutionizing how governments operate and serve their citizens. The digital economy has become a key issue for both theoreticians and practitioners worldwide, especially in the last decade. It is based on various forms of technology, such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and blockchain. The aim of the paper is to briefly present and analyse the evolution of the digital economy in Romania in the period 2019-2022. In this respect, the authors used a qualitative research method. The results show that the period 2019-2022 witnessed a slight decrease in Romania's performance related to the Digital Economy and Society Index. The paper indicates that despite its efforts, Romania has scored well below the other EU countries. This study examines the Romania's state aid policy after the country joined the European Union (EU) in 2007. With its membership, Romania's economic and regulatory environment underwent a dramatic change, bringing its policies into compliance with EU norms and laws. This research examines several types of state aid that Romania has put in place, such as grants, tax incentives, and guarantees, with the goals of promoting economic expansion, improving competitiveness, and reducing regional disparities. The study presents the government's response to the recognised market failures and the alignment with European trends through an extensive examination of official reports and statistical data. The results demonstrate that Romania's application of EU state aid regulations was in line with the EU framework and that the goals that many of the EU member states consider most significant are followed in the distribution of public support. The Romanian state aid policy recognises market failures (agriculture, energy savings and environmental protection, regional development) and attempts to direct public efforts to close the gaps, even though the total aid granted is not impressive when compared to developed economies and the aid's share of GDP is at a moderate level. In order to provide a comprehensive understanding of Romania's place in the European context, an overview analysis of member states state aid disbursments from 2007 to 2022 is provided. The paper inserts some policy recommendations to optimize state aid distribution and effectiveness, emphasizing the need for robust monitoring mechanisms, greater transparency, and alignment with broader EU objectives. The idea of a Jewish invasion in Romania appeared during the debates on the first constitution (1866) and was revitalized after 1918, as the recently occupied territory of Bessarabia hosted many Jewish groups fleeing revolutionary Russia, the civil war, and pogroms. In this context, the immigrants were depicted by nationalist propaganda as invaders wishing to exploit Romania's wealth and hospitality, and this image was combined with the myth of Judeo-Bolshevism. Thanks to the archival sources of the High Commission for Refugees and of relief organizations such as the Joint Distribution Committee, this paper aims to present in detail the controversial encounter between national security policies and humanitarian concerns for the fate of the refugees. At the same time, it will discuss how the refugee question influenced the Romanian political context, fostering sentiments of antisemitism and xenophobic anxiety. As will be argued, the idea of an invasion was very influential before and after World War I, and conditioned not only the definition of the policies regarding citizenship and minorities, but also the whole political discourse and the shaping of Romanian identity. At the same time, the emergence of refugees and the juxtaposition of humanitarian versus national security was not a purely Romanian affair, and in many aspects anticipated the topics of today's debates. From the specialised literature, we know that divorce is a demographic event of particular importance, which directly affects two other events: the marriage rate by reducing the number of marriages and, implicitly, the birth rate because the family is the social institution that favours children's birth. This demographic phenomena in Romania have aroused the interest of sociologists and psychologists who, in their research, deal with the causes, dynamics and consequences of divorces on divorced partners and the relationship between divorced parents-children-family. The demographic analysis of birth, mortality, marriage and divorce was the subject of some chapters in treatises on general demography, textbooks, and articles based on descriptive statistical analysis or dissemination of statistical data. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of divorces and divorciality in post-communist Romania (1990-2022). Our research is based on data provided by the National Institute of Statistics, population and housing census data (rounds 1992, 2002, 2011 and 2021), and Eurostat data for comparative analysis. We have adopted a sociodemographic perspective, utilizing a complex methodology that includes descriptive statistical analysis, boxplot analysis, cartographic analysis, Pearson correlation, multivariate regression, and analysis of regression residuals. This comprehensive approach ensures the reliability and validity of our findings. A particularity of this research is the appraisal of the weights of certain social groups to determine their territorial influence. Thus, by representing the share of the divorced population in the total resident population of Romania, according to the data from the censuses, a synthesis of the behaviour of people depending on the marital status manifested in space and time is expected. The cartographic analysis of divorciality based on data from the Population and Housing Census - 2021 round describes the dynamic of this demographic phenomena. Communication is a critical component in the process of providing quality healthcare services and products. The role of public relations (PR), as a strategic, proactive, and responsible type of communication, is to establish and maintain a positive reputation and relationships with the public, based on trust and mutual understanding. Given the complex approach and process of this activity, when properly applied, PR can bring benefits to all stakeholders in the healthcare sector, contributing positively to its overall realities and outcomes. This paper presents the results of an exploratory pilot study aimed at identifying the coordinates of PR in the Romanian health sector by investigating perceptions on health public relations (HPR), its potential, challenges and opportunities, and stakeholders in healthcare. It is based on qualitative research, using interviews with a mixed group of professionals from the public and private sectors (doctors, medical service coordinators, medical professors, managers, and owners of entities that provide health services and products, and strategic communication professionals working for companies in healthcare). The results are discussed alongside relevant findings provided by previously published studies. In the final part of the article, the author proposes a PR model for entities in the medical area. It emphasizes that HPR should not only be used as a tactical tool or alternative to marketing efforts, nor only intended to manage an undesirable image or deliver damage control after an inconvenient situation or crisis. Instead, HPR services are at their true potential when a strategic approach is applied proactively, based on complex research and planning, designed to engage stakeholders and motivate them towards collaborative communication and sustained effort, based on partnership, for efficient and effective results in the health sector. In this paper we study the impact of Covid-19 pandemics on the incoming tourism in Romania. Following the typology of crises in general and the specific nature of the Covid crisis, we will see what effects this most recent pandemic had globally and what economic policies were taken to counteract the adverse effects of the pandemic. We will see that the lockdown and mobility restrictions at European level have led to a free fall of the incoming tourism, increasing the share of domestic tourism on the one side, while on the other hand we observe the tendency of people to move to the countryside. There have been observed some trends that favoured nature tourism, but we also witnessed, that OECD recommends continuing with a more sustainable tourism. We witnessed in 2022 a recovery of tourism in the European Union, which seems to invalidate the trends reiterated by OECD. Through a statistical regression we try to forecast the trend of incoming tourism in Romania, which gives us two possible directions of its evolution. Analysing the pessimistic case, we also identify systemic risks at the level of Romanian incoming tourism, that is focusing on a few countries only, so we see diversification as a very urgent matter for Romanian tourism. The pandemic caused by the corona virus is the most serious crisis that humanity has ever witnessed in this century. For Romania, this crisis highlighted organizational problems, structural issues related to the government, problems of an aging and underperforming health system, but also a total blockage of social and environmental actions. All of this are reflected in the national economical situation. The paper aims to construct a post-pandemic perspective, where Romania needs to streamline its governmental functioning system, simplifying and digitalizing procedures for strengthening the riskmanagement sector and securing the foundations for further growth. The two perspectives analysed are: the social one - by highlighting poverty, healthcare, income inequalities and regional disparities and the environmental one by highlighting the priorities of reducing air and water pollution, protecting the forest fund and conserving the Danube Basin. These two prisms are analyzed through the filtering of national recovery plans, by examining government capacities, the resolutions adopted by state officials, the European 2030 Agenda and the global framework of Sustainable Development drawn by the United Nations. Foreign direct investment (FDI) is to an increasing extent given credit for the economic development of a country along with the creation of new jobs, foreign capital, technology and knowledge transfer, generating positive spillover effects or the opportunity of joining global value chains. In the current paper the authors aim to investigate the impact of the subsidiaries of transnational companies (TNCs) which operate in Romania and carry out foreign trade activities on the trade balance of Romania during the period 2014-2022. The analysis demonstrates they generate a significant surplus in the case of services and a deficit in the case of goods, the surplus surpassing the deficit until 2018. Beginning with 2019, the high growth rate of deficits can no longer be balanced through a slower growth rate of surpluses resulting from the trade in services. Other findings reveal the sectors contributing the most to these imbalances: the manufacturing industry, telecommunications and information technology, manufacturing services and transportation generate a large surplus and trade generates a huge deficit. Data was extracted from BNR FDI annual reports, issued during 2013-2022, based on Combined Nomenclature and the IMF's Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual, 6th edition (BPM6) methodology. The research might be extended with the identification and evolution of TNCs at the microeconomic level, and subsequently studying the case of key multinational companies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The overlap of crises that most countries in the world are currently facing generates the need to increase tax revenues, so the analysis of the factors that influence tax revenues is useful and important. There are many factors that influence the level of tax revenues, but those related to the activity of the tax administration and the tax behavior of taxpayers are of great importance. The multifactorial linear regression model developed in this paper demonstrates the existence of a direct and positive correlation between tax revenues: % of GDP and the number of tax inspections, the number of tax penalties and the degree of tax compliance, and a direct and negative correlation between tax revenues: % of GDP and the cost of tax revenue collection. The developed model offers the possibility to make predictions for approaching tax administration strategies aimed at increasing tax compliance and streamlining the activity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper examines the connection between the change in 10-year government bond yields, as a proxy of the long-term interest rates and the stock returns for Romania, between April 2020 and December 2023. The stock prices were represented by the reference index BET (Bucharest Exchange Trading) of the Romanian stock market, Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE). The regression analysis showed an inverse linear connection, of medium intensity, between the exogenous variable, the change in government bond yields, and the dependent variable, the stock returns listed by BSE. The increase in interest rates will lead to a decrease in the price of the companies' stocks, the increase in the cost of financing for companies will decrease the value of their investments, and therefore the investors will anticipate the decrease in future cash flows. On the other hand, the lower interest rates will appreciate the companies' market value, because the investors anticipate the increase of corporate investments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The migration of medical staff results in the diminution of human resources in the health sector, undermining the capacity of developing countries' health systems to provide medical services equitably. Various factors, such as economic, professional, political, social, or personal considerations, contribute to the decision of health workers to emigrate. This paper's primary objective is to analyze the prevailing trends in the migration flows and stocks of physicians and nurses, with a focus on identifying the principal pull factors of migration. The preferred destination countries for Romanian health professionals include the UK, Germany, France, and Italy. Notably, Germany stands out as a leader in health care professionals' migration flows, characterized by two distinct migration periods: the first featuring exceptionally high levels of physician migration and the second marked by increasing levels of nurses' migration. Through panel data regression analysis, we have established that the pull factors for physicians differ from those for nurses. For physicians, the presence of a Romanian community of health professionals in the destination countries is crucial, whereas for nurses, the development level of the destination country holds top importance. This article aims to critically discuss the foreign policy of communist Romania, especially towards Western Europe and the socialist bloc. It does this firstly by reviewing Elena Dragomir's recent ample analyses of communist Romania's foreign policy. Its second section consists in a critical problematization of the allegedly "pragmatic" and "adaptative" nature of communist Romania's dealings with its Western and Eastern partners, as established both by Dragomir's recent contributions, as well as the traditional scholarship. In the present context, the consumption and saving patterns are subjected to change both locally and worldwide. The evidence on consumption reveals the importance of data handling and processing using the most relevant tools available. This research paper looks into official statistics data of Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) for milling and baking products and is based on seasonal adjustment. As such, JDemetra+ software is selected as officially recommended by Eurostat for seasonal adjustment. First section presents the official software recommended by Eurostat for seasonal adjustment, while section two discusses the characteristics and functionalities of the software. Furthermore, the following section presents the selected seasonal adjustment technique and describes the usage of monthly data. Section four analysing the results of all the seasonality tests for the selected series is followed next by a brief concluding remarks and observations section. Moreover, in terms of the conducted analysis, the paper examines to test JDemetra+ 3.0.0 pre-release version against JDemetra+ 2.2.4. Evidence favouring JDemetra+ 2.2.4 is obtained, the results showing that some new strategies might be needed in order to obtain better results on seasonal adjustment process using TRAMO-SEATS in JDemetra+ 3.0.0. Seasonal adjustment practitioners in official statistics should be aware and recognize the impact of statistical package selection. In this respect, optimal selection of analysis procedures is needed in the evaluation of a series and thus migrating from JDemetra+ 2.2.4 to JDemetra+ 3.0.0 is problematic without employing resources in developing appropriate strategies for improvement of the obtained results. This article analyzes promotional and educational content published online by newly emerged parenting influencers in Romania to endorse parenting education programs, workshops, seminars, or books. The paper aims to investigate how these programs construct 'good parenting' practices at a discursive level, what (de)legitimation strategies they use to promote products or services, and how they shape power relations between experts and parents. The study uses a multidimensional thematic, critical, and pragmatic discourse analysis approach. The results show that, through discursive strategies, influencers portray 'good parenting' as an anxiety and value-driven process. This approach is rooted in a parental determinist view that emphasizes the influence of parental actions on children's health and well-being. On the other hand, parenting expert influencers depict the 'good parent' as a 'conscious parent' (a parent that is both child-conscious, and attentive to their own needs and emotions) who should reform old parenting practices to ensure a secure relationship with their children and correct old parenting mistakes. Cultural intelligence (CQ) and emotional intelligence (EQ) represent key competencies of multicultural leadership in the new normal global business environment. This paper aims to present a comparative quantitative study concerning emotional and cultural intelligences in USA and Romania, backed by a brief geo-linked bibliometric literature review. The bibliometric analysis is performed with VOSviewer for the works focusing on these two variables published in USA and, respectively, in Romania. Inspired by the findings of this comparative analysis, it is performed a quantitative research based on 604 questionnaires distributed to managers in USA and in Romania, and on statistical processing using SPSS software. The statistical results show that both CQ and EQ constitute significant vectors in developing multicultural leadership and organizational performance in a multicultural business environment for both USA and Romania. The comparative study reveals a higher level of CQ and EQ in the Romanian business environment than in USA. The difference could be explained by the focus on rationality and profit maximization in the American business education. The contribution of the paper comes from these findings and they can help researchers and practitioners to stimulate their efforts in improving CQ and EQ competences. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The leasing satisfies in a short time the need of funds for the investments of economic agents. The article examines how the crisis phenomenon is discussed in the Romanian public communication environment. The authors argue that in the current context, where society is marked by multiple crises, the term “permacrisis” has become relevant, describing a state of permanent crisis affecting the society at multiple levels. The authors analysed how the topic of crisis has been represented in the Romanian media, focusing on articles published online between 2017 and 2022. Through quantitative and qualitative analysis, the study highlights a significant increase in crisis-related mentions since 2020, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This increase indicates a shift in public perception and media discourse, suggesting the normalisation and acceptance of the crisis as a constant state. Four dominant themes associated with the crisis were identified in media discourse: the economic crisis, the health crisis generated by COVID-19, the domestic political crisis and the crisis generated by the war in Ukraine. These themes illustrate the different facets of the permacrisis in Romania, from the economic and social impact, to political uncertainty and the consequences of pandemics and geopolitical conflicts. The paper highlights the importance of recognising and understanding the phenomenon of permacrisis in Romanian society in order to develop more eff ective strategies for managing crises and building a more resilient society. The relationship between social crises and religious cults3 in Romania is a topic neglected by the specialized literature. In this paper, we propose a series of analyses regarding how social crises have influenced religious life in Romania and the mechanisms by which religious cults have played a role in solving or amplifying them. We will refer to the Romanian Orthodox Church, the majority religious denomination, and some of its positions on events/stages of these social phenomena between 1990 and 2023. This text does not propose a thorough examination of these relationships but attempts to sketch perspectives of analysis in response to the following research questions: What do Romanians think about the Church’s involvement in the life of society and implicitly in social crises? Why is it important to understand the position of religious actors on the evolution of social crises? How have religious denominations influenced the improvement/ aggravation of some dimensions of social crises? Official stances of Religious Cults during different social crises were examined, alongside instances of informal religious practices aimed at enhancing societal conditions. In Romania, religious cults have been essential partners of the State in reducing social crises, providing support through their rich infrastructure and human resources or their symbolic position in society. In this paper, a statistical analysis is made of the health personnel in Romania in the public and private systems using data from the period 1990-2022, provided by the National Institute of Statistics. Using the least squares method, analytical functions are found that model the trend and forecasts are made for the years 2023 and 2024. The confidence intervals for the predictions are also found, at a significance threshold of 5%, and the correlations between certain indicators are analysed. It was found that in the public sector there was a downward trend, in general, for all categories of medical personnel in the period 1990-2017, followed by an increasing evolution after 2018, due to salary increases in the system. However, there is still a shortage of physicians in the public sector, even if their number has steadily increased in the last years. There is no correlation between the number of physicians and the number of beds in public hospitals, although this should be positive and high. On the other hand, in the private sector the trend is obviously increasing throughout the studied period, the correlations are very strong between the analysed indicators, a situation explained by the fact that in this system the goal is to minimize expenses and increase profit and less access of all citizens to health services. Objective: The civic participatory system is a means of involving citizens in decisionmaking processes and monitoring public policies, aimed at increasing the transparency, accountability and efficiency of public administration. The civic participatory system implies the existence of formal and informal mechanisms for consultation, dialogue, collaboration and cocreation between public authorities and civil society in order to identify, formulate, implement and evaluate solutions to problems of public interest. In the field of culture and tourism, the civic participatory system plays an important role in promoting the enhancement of cultural heritage, cultural diversity, access to culture and sustainable tourism development. This article aims to analyse the civic participatory system in order to outline a current situation at national and regional level for the development and valorisation of cultural heritage through tourism in the Danube region, which is characterised by great ethnic, linguistic and religious diversity. Method: This paper will use the systematic literature review method to investigate multicultural communities in the Danube area and how to improve institutional capacities, social inclusion and sustainable urban development. Results: Considering the decreasing capacities of public administrators to integrate the participatory approach into decision-making processes, this article will report on the conceptual delimitations of the civic participatory system related to the tourism and culture sector in multicultural communities in the Danube region and identify the relevant actors corresponding to this process. Originality: The article makes a significant contribution to the knowledge of the current situation of the civic participatory system in the Danube region and to the formulation of concrete proposals for its improvement. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the banking industry faced numerous challenges (the sudden and total closure of physical units, exclusively remote relations with customers) and was pushed to accelerate the digitalization process started in the 2000s. In this context, digital banking services became of paramount importance and the factors that influence consumer satisfaction with digital banking services were at the centre of attention of both industry and academia. The aim of this paper is to determine a ranking of the determinants that influence consumer satisfaction with digital banking services, at the start of the pandemic. To this end, we conducted a quantitative research based on a questionnaire in Constanta County. Using graphical visualization to observe the impact of a series of independent variables (the level of education, the characteristics of banks, accessibility, the frequency of using the digital banking services, the level of technology of the bank, and consumers’ trust in the bank with which they frequently relate) on the dependent variable - customer satisfaction with digital banking services, and training an artificial neural network (ANN), we obtained a hierarchy of the influence factors. The research results revealed that customer satisfaction with digital banking services is primarily influenced by their trust in the bank they work with and the bank's level of technology. The geographical indications are part of intellectual property system, and their importance was proven over time both from consumer protection point of view, but also from business point of view. Since almost the end of 2023 we have a new EU Regulation which regulates the GIs for craft and industrial products at EU level and this paper is proposing to present the final legal framework and the provisions implemented regarding the products that will be object of the protection, the registration, opposition and cancellation procedures, the actions against which the registered GIs are protected, the new role of the EUIPO and other novelty aspects in comparison with (1) the legal provisions under the proposal of the EU Regulation, (2) the existing GIs for other types of products and with (3) the new proposal for GIs for wine, spirit drinks and agricultural products. Given the role of Covid-19 pandemic in accelerating the digital transformation in Europe, the main aim of this paper is to explain the unemployment rate in Romania based on Internet searches for jobs during the epidemic at national and county level. Google Trends indexes for certain keywords related to jobs in Romanian language (’’locuri de muncă’’ and ’’joburi’’) and the most famous websites with job announcements (’’eJobs’’ and ’’Hipo’’) are considered. At national level, the unemployment rate in the period February 2020-December 2022 in Romania is explained using an autoregressive distributed lag model (ARDL) based on Google Trends index for ”locuri de munca”, while for youth unemployment ”joburi” and ”eJobs” are relevant. At county level, a spatial error model based on searches for ” locuri de munca” performs better than OLS regression.
