Abstract

Inflation is a concern for both businesses and people, and it is affected by many factors. In this paper, we tried to touch on the effect of the Russia - Ukraine war on inflation. The research questions are: "Is inflation higher after the war began?", "Is the inflation higher in Romania after the war began?" and "Is the inflation higher in countries who are near to the war?" The data analyzed in this paper was extracted from Eurostat for 34 countries, for the period of 2017-2022. The conclusion is that inflation was higher in all analyzed countries after the war started and was more substantial for Romania and for the countries that were near the conflict. This paper can contribute to the literature on the effect of the war on inflation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
