The use of respondent quotes to headline qualitative research papers is a popular literary device found in many academic journals. This practice has increased over the last four decades and now appears normalised within qualitative research writing. This article provides a critical analysis of this trend in academic writing and concomitant publishing. Content and framework analyses of 40 papers employing this literary device to summarise the respective studies identified (i) a lack of methodological rigor, (ii) incomplete analysis, (iii) an overall mis-representation of the wider qualitative dataset, and (iv) possible investigator bias associated with using respondent quotes as titles of qualitative research papers. This article questions the credibility of purposely selecting a single experience that reduces the wider collective experience into one deterministic statement. This article contends that such practice is antithetical to the principles of qualitative research. Recommendations are provided to better monitor this practice throughout the academy. This article is a longitudinal bibliometric study of articles from six major universities published over 130 years of the Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS). The Scopus API (Application Programming Interface) was used to download bibliographic metadata in multiple tables to create a relational database for automated data extraction and manipulation scripts to analyze publishing and citation indicators. The study examined several correlations between average number of institutional, non-institutional, single-and multiple- authored, and international authors per paper and citation counts; open access trends; and page count indicators. The article is based on a Keynote Lecture at the 2022 Colloquium of the Society for Educational Studies. It analyses the articles published in four leading journals in 2021 and compares these with the same journals 20 years earlier. Key findings include a considerable increase in authorship and multiple authorship and a very strong international dimension to authorship in current UK-based journals. Two-thirds of the papers were empirical, and by far the most common type of research design was qualitative interview studies, often of a very small-scale nature. An earlier version of this paper was read at the Journal of Child Psychotherapy Symposium on Ethical Publishing, 2022. The question under discussion was: how can we write about our patients in a safe and respectful way, while making a contribution to the development of our field. The author describes her experience of sharing a draft paper with a young person towards the end of the treatment, with a view to submitting the paper for publication. Some thought is given to the clinical and ethical complexity of this process, and the questions that arose through the process are explored. The aim of this paper is to help writers at all levels improve their likelihood of success in having papers accepted by academic peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Interprofessional Care. We discuss the importance of reading both in your own discipline and also more widely across disciplines and fields of study. There are sections on the attributes of good authors, how to choose a journal, types of articles that are published and the structure of these, the contrast between research and evaluation, and how to plan a paper. We stress the importance of reading and complying with a journal's author guidelines and answering the 'so what' question by the end of the article. There is more detail about the main elements of a paper and what should be included in the introduction, methods, results (findings) and discussion to improve the quality of the reporting. As well as content we also focus on the style of writing. We finish with a discussion of the submission and review processes, why papers may be rejected and how to manage decisions on papers. Dissemination of scholarly work is paramount to the advancement of the interprofessional field; we invite authors to consider our advice and in so doing help strengthen the quality and rigor of interprofessional scholarship. With series on conventional television and pay TV platforms now a key element of media consumption, they have gained increasing academic attention in the last decade, both as a main object of study and in combination with other social phenomena. However, the boundaries of this line of research, which draws together researchers from different fields, have become increasingly blurred. This paper undertook a bibliometric investigation to understand how this line of research has come about, what its characteristics are, the main streams within it, and the extent to which the rise in publications reflects a mature and consolidated field of research in its own right. This analysis focused on the development of scientific production on television series indexed by database Scopus between 2010 and 2019 (n = 1,679 documents). More specifically, this study analyzed authorship, journals, national output and international collaboration, co-citation of keywords to ascertain the main intellectual trends in the area and the co-occurrence of references to find out if there is a theoretical body of works that serve as a foundation for this research. The results show symptoms of immaturity, such as a lack of continuity in authority, little concurrence between specialized journals and the most cited authors and works, vagueness in both the keyword clusters and the papers that are often cited together. In addition, a large number of the most cited works come from fields outside Communication that consider television series an accessory aspect of their main theme, such as their impact on the influx of tourists as a result due to the consumption of cultural works. Authorship of academic papers is a currency that can bring career advantages in academia and other industries. How authorship should be decided is not always clear, particularly in co-produced research with non-academic collaborators, for which existing authorship guidelines are largely silent. In this paper, we critically reflect on what constitutes written authorship in the context of co-produced health research. We present examples from our own work to illustrate the argument we make, including publishing a co-authored paper with non-academic partners. We consider questions of what constitutes authorship and how it is mutually understood. We discuss some of the opportunities and limits to participation and how these might translate into academic authorship as a collaborative research output. Finally, we explore the potential of authorship guidelines as a resource for critical reflection on what we mean by co-produced work and how we recognise contributions to global health research. We suggest that authorship guidelines should be adapted to encourage attribution of co-produced research to include non-academic as well as academic collaborators, and we provide a draft guideline for how this might be done. Little is known about the existing gender disparities in library and information science research. The current study aims to analyze research articles from the Annals of Library and information studies journal from a gender perspective. The study looked at the author's position in relation to their gender, various patterns of collaboration, and if this has affected citations. This study also attempts to determine the male and female authors' research interests as the first author. The data were gathered from the Scopus database between 2011 and 2019 and were quantified using bibliometrics. Six distinct authorship patterns were recognized. The findings reveal men in first and last author positions constitute the highest research articles and citations indicating male authors to be more influential compared to females. Additionally, the study findings have provided an overview of the current state of women in library and information science research and highlighted areas where improvements can be made. Post-doctoral research fellowships (PDRF) in South Africa often require the fellow to produce a particular number of publications each year. Many of the PDRFs, however, find publishing a challenge. In response to this, a project was established to support, encourage and enable PDRFs based in South African universities to publish in this special issue of Critical Arts. During the course of the project, contacts were made and events attended which resulted in a broader understanding of the precarious situation in which many PDRFs find themselves. Writing and publishing have always confronted the clinician writer in the child and adolescent field with the dilemmas of confidentiality and consent. This is never more so than in our contemporary digital era, where access to publication of the intensely private can be just a tap of the finger away. This paper discusses the different kinds of clinical writing, and describes the author's concepts of consent anxiety and writing through. The dynamics of reading or hearing others' clinical work are described and discussed. The paper concludes that there are no simple guidelines; the clinical writer has to weigh up the risks versus the protective factors for each publication. This paper focuses on the story The New Owner in an attempt to explore how the notion of authorship is negotiated in an online forum-based writing project. It also considers how the characteristics of the internet and the forum influenced the creative processes and the negotiations of authorship. In particular, the paper identifies three dynamics of authorship: shared authorial voice, control over the story, and the impossibility of a 'beyond-the-screen' truth. I compare these with dynamics related to George R. R. Martin and Elena Ferrante. These dynamics intersect with online literature, subcultural practices of anonymity, and the mediation of the internet. To discuss these, this paper considers a bugchasing erotic story published in an online forum. One of the most prevalent themes in Emeric Pressburger's work as a screenwriter is the 'good German', a character who often represents an enemy country, who is nevertheless depicted sympathetically, or, at the very least, as a morally ambiguous character. Figures of this kind appear throughout his works, including his unpublished novels and unfilmed screenplays. This paper will examine some of these unproduced works and contest that Pressburger's writing was a response to the trauma of Nazism and the Holocaust, which stood in conflict to his largely egalitarian outlook in which he believed that all people had some good attributes. In a radical turn for the Jewish screenwriter, Pressburger uses these late works to attempt to come to terms with the moral implications of the Holocaust, considering if revenge can be justified, to what extent one should forgive, and whether acts of kindness could ever outweigh the crimes a person has committed. Millions of full-text articles are downloaded per month using pirate websites. The purpose of this study was to survey professors and academic librarians on their knowledge, usage and teaching of pirate websites to students. A 21-question survey with adapted Likert scale and free text questions was sent to six academic librarian listservs and primary corresponding authors of top ten evolutionary and bioinformatics and computational biology journals since 2019 from Google Scholar rankings. Academic librarians (48%) and professors (60.5%) are not actively teaching about pirate websites. What is taught is how to ethically and legally access full-text articles, not the existence of pirate websites and how to use them. Concerns about espionage, viruses, and malware for affiliated institutions are concerns for professors and librarians. Sci-Hub continues to be the most known of pirate websites. Librarians and professors are satisfied with the selection of journal title offerings from their affiliated institutions, but desire additional resources for their research. Ease of use continues to be a reason why pirate websites are used, and cost in accessing full-text articles continues to be a concern for librarians and professors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Inventory-Routing Problem (IRP) deals with the joint optimisation of inventory and the associated routing decisions. The IRP with time windows (IRPTW) considers time windows for the deliveries to the customers. Due to its importance and several real-world applications, in this paper, we develop an intricate solution algorithm for this problem. A combination of tools ranging from established groups of valid inequalities, pre-processing techniques, local search procedures, and a local branching algorithm is utilised to solve the IRPTW efficiently. We compare the performance of our algorithm on a benchmark set of instances and show how our solution algorithm provides promising results against a competing algorithm from the literature. Since the 1980s, research on relative age effects (RAEs) consistently shows that relatively older individuals are advantaged in sport and other contexts. With the recent proliferation of studies on RAEs, periodic knowledge synthesis becomes imperative. Our purpose was to conduct a cross-disciplinary citation network analysis of RAEs literature to enhance our knowledge of RAEs citation structures and the interconnectivity of RAEs studies. We analysed 484 RAEs articles found in Web of Science that were published before 2022. Descriptive results revealed a 12.6% annual growth rate for total RAEs articles published since 1980. The articles appeared in 151 journals, had 1,180 unique authors, and averaged 23.9 citations received. Three theoretical/review papers had the most substantial influence on the field. For the conceptual structure of the field, it was apparent that RAEs research focused mainly on sport performance, maturity, and competition. Regarding intellectual structure, three distinct clusters of articles were cited together, and 13 authorship clusters were detected with few between-cluster connections. The results describe a field with productivity but little interconnectivity among authors and papers. This paper reflects on the question of fictional authorship based on the case of the Libro de los grandes hechos, an apocalyptic text circulated in Spanish, Catalan, and Portuguese during the fifteenth century. All versions attribute its creation to a supposed visionary friar of the order of the "Sancti Spiritus" named Juan Unay (or similar). However, no other documents on this figure exist. To analyze this problem from both theoretical and practical perspectives, I will organize the paper in three sections. First, I will introduce two general approaches with which to address the study of authorship in the field of medieval apocalyptic literature. Secondly, I will explore the different hypotheses developed by specialists regarding the authorship of the Libro de los grandes hechos. This paper will discuss the possibility of attributing authorship to translations by carrying out a comparative stylometric analysis of an author's poems and their translations of other writers' works. The paper puts forward two hypotheses. Firstly, its aim is to test whether an author's poems and translations share stylistic patterns. Secondly, it will test whether these shared patterns can be used to attribute authorship of translations. The complete works of Antonio Colinas and Eloy Sánchez Rosillo, together with their respective translations of Giacomo Leopardi's Cantos, will be used. Based on these texts, we will build computational representations that correspond to the stylistic profiles of each author, using various style cues related to metrics, grammar, and lexicon. These representations will serve as input for the calculation of similarity. Its result will allow us to determine to what extent characteristics of an author's own verses remain in the translated poems and whether there is more closeness between the two translations or between each author's poetry and their translation. While the notions of creativity and agency have each received considerable attention in the literature on computational systems, the connections between these two concepts have rarely been addressed. In this paper, I contribute to this debate by discussing the results of an online questionnaire aimed at testing the interactions between the attribution of agency and creativity to human and artificial subjects. Findings of the study indicate that the ascription of agentive capabilities to a subject is positively correlated to the level of creativity attributed to the process they perform. This result supports the claim that a better understanding of the steps needed in order to achieve agency can help also shed light on the development of creativity in computational systems. I conclude the paper by suggesting that the technological revolution of the last decades is compelling us to re-think concepts such as authorship, ownership, agency, and creativity that, so far, have been typically attributed to humans only, and to consider how these notions are being transformed in dynamics of interaction between humans and machines. Considering the fact that publications serve as an important criterion to evaluate the scientific accomplishments of an individual within respective fields in academia, there has been an increasing trend to publish scientific articles whereby multiple authors are defined as primary, co-, or corresponding authors according to the roles performed. This article analyzes the authorship pattern in 4,561 papers (including 60 single-authored papers) from 1990 till 2020 of 94 academics who hold a position as professors and are affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at three different research universities in Malaysia. Only 708 papers (15.5% of 4,561 papers) were authored by less than three authors. In 3,080 papers (67.5% of 4,561 papers), those academics appeared as coauthors. Using different years as cutoff periods, it was observed that the appearance as coauthor in the papers had steeply risen around the years: 2006, 2007, 2008 and onwards. The increased number of authors in the multi-author papers and the appearance of the selected academics as coauthors reflect the extent of boosting of collaborative research in that period which corresponds to the adoption of the "publish or perish policy" by the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia. This paper explores the interchangeable relationship between three author figures in the nineteenth individual instalment of Neil Gaiman's popular Sandman comic book, titled 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', arguing that just as this metafictional story blurs the boundaries between theatrical/comic book fiction and reality, it also portrays an abstraction of authorship between Shakespeare, Morpheus, and Gaiman, as each figure blends into one another while influencing the shape of the narrative; as a result, each of these authors demonstrates the tangible and transformative power of a singular storyteller. Drawing from Gaiman's history of portraying Shakespeare in Sandman – and his goal throughout the series of enshrining single impactful authorship through his fictionalised take on Shakespeare – I will propose that in actuality, all three authors engage in a cyclical creative relationship with one another, which affects the perception of the comic book story's origin, with each author acting as inspiration for one another on both a diegetic and metatextual level. This culminates in the story's visual layout and meta-performance of Dream, in which their three authorial influences become momentarily indistinguishable, complicating Gaiman's ideal of single authorship. Normative theorists of migration are beginning to shift their focus away from an earlier obsession with whether the 'liberal' or 'legitimate' state should have a right to exclude, and toward evaluation of how states engage in immigration control. However, with some notable exceptions – such as work of Rebecca Buxton, David Owen, Serena Parekh, and Alex Sager – this work tends not to focus on the global coordination of such control, and is still largely concerned with issues of membership. In this paper I aim to show the value of shifting normative attention to the fundamentally interdependent nature of state control of migration, and the management of all forms of movement – not just settlement. This global management is greatly facilitated by the rapid digitisation of border controls. As such, I outline three aspects of the way digital border controls work – profiling, biometric identification, and the data sharing practices upon which they rest – and highlight ethical challenges of accountability, consent and the reach of the state, and entrenching global inequalities in access to movement. Ultimately, I hope to show that the globally interconnected nature of migration management is a combination of practices that normative theorists of migration should turn their attention to. Active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) has emerged as a well-addressed controller design technique in recent years. It is a suitable replacement for the error-based feedback PID controller design approaches. The ADRC constitutes two controller design techniques: linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC) and generalized active disturbance rejection control (GADRC). The LADRC design approach requires minimal information about the plant, while in the GADRC approach, detailed information about the plant is needed. For higher-order plants, the design of ADRC controllers and extended state observers may be pretty complex and costlier. So, the performance analysis of the higher order plant becomes difficult. Therefore, to make the controller simpler, it is always advantageous to reduce the controller size. This paper proposes reduced order linear active disturbance rejection control (ROLADRC), and reduced order generalized active disturbance rejection control (ROGADRC) techniques instead of full-order LADRC and GADRC approaches. The stability equation method (SEM) and other widespread model order reduction (MOR) methods are utilized to reduce the order of the plant. Further, ROLADRC and ROGADRC are compared with existing control techniques in the literature. Problem: Writing for publication is a core activity for many medical school faculty, but faculty report numerous challenges to publication. To help address these challenges, some medical schools establish writing support programs, but those programs are often resource-intensive, involving didactic courses, accountability groups, formal mentorships, and even assistance from professional writers. Not all medical schools, however, provide resources for such programs, and many faculty members, especially clinicians, lack time needed to participate. Furthermore, success of these programs is typically judged by the total number of papers published. However, many clinicians would judge success as publication of the occasional papers they decide to write, not the total number of papers they or the group publish. With these issues in mind, we established a low-resource writing program focused on individual acceptance rates rather than total publications. Intervention: Our writing program is an informal group that meets monthly. Members bring their ideas for papers and drafts of papers, and other members provide critique and suggestions for improvement. Members then revise their papers to address that critique prior to journal submission. There are no formal or assigned mentors, courses, lectures, or writing assistants. Context: The program takes place in our family medicine department, in which faculty have various roles. Some group members are clinician-educators seeking to publish occasional clinical reviews or research articles; others are PhDs seeking to publish on aspects of their work. Impact: During the six years of the program, 86% of papers reviewed by the group were accepted for publication and 94% of those were accepted by the journal to which they were first submitted. Publication success rate of individual members averaged 79%. This exceeds the 30–40% acceptance rate for scholarly journals worldwide. Group members published an average of 5.2 papers per member, with some publishing as few as 2–3 papers and others as many as 10–11. Lessons Learned: An informal, low-resource writing program in medical school departments can help faculty reach their publication goals. We found that members were satisfied by having the group help them publish whatever number of papers they decided to write. The program's simple, informal approach fostered a culture of respectful and collegial interactions, in which members learned to depend on and accept critiques from colleagues. Finally, an unexpected benefit of our program resulted from membership of both clinicians and non-clinicians. It has been assumed sometimes that plagiarism is traditionally accepted in Confucian-heritage cultures such as China. In this paper we provide evidence to counter such a view. Focusing on a corpus of editorial statements on plagiarism cases published in Chinese journals in the decade of the early 1950s-the early 1960s, we present an integrated genre analysis and discourse analysis of this data. We illuminate 12 rhetorical move types in the focal genre and intertextual links between the genre and two related genres (readers' disclosure reports and plagiarizers' apologies) and demonstrate how plagiarism is construed as a transgressive practice and is imbued with the post-revolutionary Communist discourse of its historical period. The implications of the study apply to the academic community in terms of teaching and learning, on the one hand, and publication practices, on the other. We end the paper by emphasizing the importance of employing a contextualized approach to the study of plagiarism and the power of a triangulated genre and discourse analytic approach in the case of both the present research and the investigation of language use in the real-world more generally. A key determinant of prosthesis use is the quality of fit of the prosthetic socket. The socket surrounds the residual limb and applies the appropriate force distribution to the soft tissues to maintain suspension, support, and stabilization as well as translate limb movement to prosthesis movement. The challenge in socket fabrication lays in achieving geometry that provides the appropriate force distribution at physiologically appropriate locations; a task dependent on the understanding of interface tissue-mechanics. In the last 20 years substantial advancements in sensor innovation and computational power have allowed researchers to quantify the socket-residual limb interface; this paper reviews prominent measurement and sensing techniques described in literature over this time frame. Advantages and short comings of each technique are discussed with a focus on translation to clinical environments. Prosthetic sockets directly influence comfort, device use, user satisfaction, and tissue health. Advancements in instrumentation technology have unlocked the possibility of sophisticated measurement systems providing quantitative data that may work in tandem with a clinician's heuristic expertise during socket fabrication. If validated, many of the emerging sensing technologies could be implemented into a clinical setting to better characterize how patients interact with their device and help inform prosthesis fabrication and assessment techniques. While Frederick Law Olmsted's reputation rests almost as much on his authorship of studies including the Cotton Kingdom as it does for his work on landscapes including New York's Central Park, a neglected file in the archival papers of Olmsted Associates, his sons' design firm, suggests that it was Olmsted's alleged role in a fabulous pirate story that truly captured the attention and imagination of the general public, along with that of business historians and other specialists. This paper examines the reception history of A Notable Lawsuit (1898), which purports to tell the tale of how the Astor family stole a fortune from the Olmsted family in the form of the 'veritable' pirate Captain William Kidd's buried treasure. The designation of his pirate stories as 'veritable' is but the first clue that must be deciphered in weighing the documentary evidence incorporated into and dissimulated by Head's text. The perils and the pleasures of treating A Notable Lawsuit as a test case in establishing the credibility of historical fact and fiction—as defined by authors such as Herman Melville and Thomas Carlyle—is the survival of the file preserving the range and kind of perplexities faced by readers of the tale. Contributor Role Ontologies and Taxonomies (CROTs) provide a standard list of roles to specify individual contributions to research. CROTs most common application has been their inclusion alongside author bylines in scholarly publications. With the recent uptake of CROTs among publishers –particularly the Contributor Role Taxonomy (CRediT)– some have anticipated a positive impact on ethical issues regarding the attribution of credit and responsibilities, but others have voiced concerns about CROTs shortcomings and ways they could be misunderstood or have unintended consequences. Since these discussions have never been consolidated, this review collated and explored published viewpoints about the ethics of CROTs. After searching Ovid Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, 30 papers met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed. We identified eight themes and 20 specific issues related to the ethics of CROTs and provided four recommendations for CROT developers, custodians, or others seeking to use CROTs in their workflows, policy and practice: 1) Compile comprehensive instructions that explain how CROTs should be used; 2) Improve the coherence of used terms, 3) Translate roles in languages other than English, 4) Communicate a clear vision about future development plans and be transparent about CROTs' strengths and weaknesses. We conclude that CROTs are not the panacea for unethical attributions and should be complemented with initiatives that support social and infrastructural transformation of scholarly publications. In previous papers, I have sought to usher Creative Writing in English into Literary Studies contexts in Korea by responding to rhetorical questions, such as "[h]ow to begin to feel like ourselves in a language we do not quite feel at home in?" The estimation of mathematical model parameters of solar photovoltaic (PV) establishes as one of the most prominent problems highlighted in recent researches. Various techniques in the literature employ experimental data and information from the manufacturer's datasheet for the solution, where precise and highly consistent solution identification is still a multifaceted issue to be addressed. In this paper, a novel Emperor Penguin Optimiser (EPO)-based hybrid approach is inducted for the estimation of single-diode PV model (SDM) parameters that are analysed under diverse sets of environmental constraints. The validity of the proposed method is reflected in the analysis of the operating characteristics namely power–voltage (P–V) and current–voltage (I–V) characteristics of multicrystalline and polycrystalline modules under numerous simulations conditions. In addition, the measured results are compared with the test data and a few speculative strategies developed in the literature and reflect the proposed process with more direct results that reduced the computational cost of the PV parameter extraction problem. Electroencephalogram (EEG) is used to analyze the state of the brain. One of the critical states of the brain is drowsiness. Physical, mental tiredness, and unconsciousness are some of the reasons for drowsiness. Drowsiness state may lead to fatal crashes, severe injury, and property damage; sometimes, it can be analyzed and detected by using EEG. Analyzing EEG signals is complicated and tedious, so an automated diagnosis is required to interpret these signals effectively. In recent years, finding drowsy feeling while working has become an important research area. In this paper, the authors reviewed various drowsiness detection techniques in the literature and analyzed the performance of 15 different machine learning algorithms for the self-acquired feature set from the EEG. Replication studies in education are relatively rare. Of the few which are conducted, many are conceptual rather than direct replications. With so few replication studies, and many of those that are attempted producing null results, the scientific status of the evidence base for educational policy and practice is in question. Replicating Makel and Plucker's review of the education replication literature, conducted in 2014, this paper presents a mapping review looking at rates of replication in education research from 2011 to 2020. We provide an overview of the number of replication studies by replication type, year, outcome, authorship, and journal. Our results are consistent with those of Makel and Plucker, revealing very low but gradually increasing rates of replication study in education. We discuss the role of replication in producing a robust and trustworthy evidence base for policy and practice, and some of the challenges in operationalising definitions of replication we encountered. Author affiliation disclosures are arguably a critical yet poorly understood and largely unregulated phenomenon in scholarly and scientific publishing. First, this paper argues that affiliation attribution practices are burdened by misunderstandings and misuses. Second, it suggests that universities, research institutions and publishers should urgently engage in a conversation aimed at clearly defining expectations and promoting best practices. The apostolic missionary Pedro Cubero (c. 1645-c. 1701) is well known for his journey around the globe by heading East. Cubero exploited this journey in a significant number of publications, including his Peregrinación del mundo (1682). Cubero also expanded his literary career with other subjects unrelated to his travels in books that combine historical and geographical content. However, these works are notable for their tendency toward literary theft. Cubero used the knowledge of several unpublished or barely-known texts to increase his written output with several counterfeit volumes. In this paper I intend to analyze one of these plagiarisms committed by Cubero in a specific work: Descripción general del mundo (1697). This text is an irregular mixture of topographical and chronological information due to the use and abuse of sources by the apostolic missionary. In short, I seek to trace Cubero's different strategies to appropriate other people's texts and, above all, to try to mask this practice. Between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, an esthetic revolution awakened a new interest in traditional poetry, which was considered the depositary of the Volksgeist and the most faithful representation of the national character. This paper raises the possibility of using the concept of author function to prove the high coherence with which German Hispanism, and in particular Ferdinand Wolf, considered the people of Spain as the authorial subject of Spanish romances. To do so, I will review the increasing interest in folk poetry since the 1750s contextualizing it within the new processes of the creation of national identities and Europe's special attraction to the Spanish case. Secondly, I will connect this revival to both new esthetic sensibilities that revolutionized the concept of authorship, such as expressive theories, and the creation of a collective subject (das Volk) as the origin of romances. The counterfeit works of Rafael Bolívar Coronado (1884–1924) represent a phenomenon with unusual repercussions on critical reception. This author managed to publish more than twelve volumes with false authorship and content, from "crónicas de Indias" to collections of poetry. This article presents a theoretical approach regarding literary falsification in general and highlights the concepts of lightness and multiplicity to propose an interpretation of the Bolívar Coronado case. This paper also deals with the artistic dimension of literary forgeries as creative works that use the same methods and strategies as fiction writing. The set of falsified works by this author can be interpreted as a conceptual proposal that questions the functioning of the literary field of his time. Likewise, his proposal can also be framed within the cultural criticism that the forgery tradition entails: it questions not only the difficult discernment between the concepts of truth and lies, but also the rigidity of some guardians of cultural institutions and the system of legitimation, awards, and literary reviews. This paper delves into the intricate relationship between translation, authorship, and comparative literature, and analyzes how the postmodern concept of translation redefines the traditional boundaries of authorship. The case of Vibha Maurya's translation of Don Quixote to Hindi is used as a way to problematize these concepts in the context of postcolonialism, intercultural dialogue, and the theory of the "third space of enunciation," which is the specific socio-political locus of enunciation for Maurya's translation. Vibha Maurya's decision to translate Don Quixote directly from Spanish to Hindi posed a double challenge with literary and political consequences. Not only did she have to deal with a rigid, canonical, Indian academy that had been historically controlled by men, but also she made a point to discard all translations from English, which had traditionally been regarded as the "original" source of all renderings of Don Quixote, questioning the fidelity of previous versions and closing the gap with Spain's Golden Age. The concept of literary posture, defined as "the unique way of occupying a 'position' in the literary field" (Meizoz 2007, 18), proves to be a valuable tool for observing the different strategies that translingual writers adopt in the French literary space, while facing some common constraints. Proposing the hypothesis of a correlation between translingual French writers' posture and linguistic imaginary, this paper distinguishes four frequent configurations, admitting of course border zones and intersections: the "defector" posture, often correlated with the critique of the country of origin; the "facilitator" posture, by which the author poses as a mediator and often a translator between the culture of origin and French; the "wandering" posture, one of reciprocal questioning of the two linguistic and national spaces, that of origin and that of arrival; finally, the posture of the "uprooted," including the refusal of a role of "ambassador" of the country of origin, advocating an "absolute" literature, free from any political constraint. The study of a few emblematic cases—Chahdortt Djavann, Simonetta Greggio, Michela Marzano, Velibor Čolić, Akira Mizubayashi—will also show that a posture can be constant or change over time and that reception plays an important role in the implementation of a postural strategy and its modifications. ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence large language model, took the world by storm in November 2022. Its launch was met with excitement, and it garnered over 1 million users within the first five days of its release, surpassing social media giants like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and even the top search engine, Google. Having been trained on volumes of data, ChatGPT has displayed the ability to produce human-like responses to questions. Concerns have been raised among members of the academic and research community regarding the ethical usage of ChatGPT and language models in education and academic/scientific research. This paper examines the development and rise of ChatGPT and similar AI tools, their pros and cons, their impact on academic research and possible intellectual property conflicts. It concludes that ChatGPT and language models are here to stay and makes recommendations for its ethical usage to prevent and detect plagiarism and protect intellectual property rights. Which knowledge and skills would help creative writing students to improve their writing? Writing is a complicated activity that involves the mingling of a great number of social, cognitive, behavioural, environmental, and bodily factors, and an incredible number of these factors have been shown to affect the writing process. One cognitive factor which has significant effects upon the writing process is the writer's motivation to write. In this paper, I review research from motivational and educational psychology in order to set the stage for future research in this area. I review research on nine (or so) motivational constructs which could have positive effects on the creative writing processes of some groups of writers, and I develop some hypotheses that researchers could use to test the veracity of this research. Finally, I discuss some of the ways in which future researchers in the field of creative writing studies could study the effects that these motivations have on the creative writing processes of different writers. Historical fiction is frequently judged solely on its historical accuracy, often leading authors of the genre to internalise this expectation and pre-emptively defend themselves with 'author's notes'. This narrow emphasis on accuracy leaves unexamined the importance of the fictional element the author has chosen to include. In this paper, I propose approaching historical fiction as a playful exploration set within the frame of the historical record, thus creating a 'playframe' which acknowledges the importance of both elements. Despite the widely used author contribution criteria, unethical authorship practices such as guest, ghost, and honorary authorship remain largely unsolved. We have identified six major reasons by analyzing 78 published papers addressing unethical authorship practice. Those are lack of: (i) awareness about and (ii) compliance with authorship criteria, (iii) universal definition and scope for determining authorship, (iv) common mechanisms for positioning an author in the list, (v) quantitative measures of intellectual contribution; and (vi) pressure to publish. As a measure to control unethical practice, we have evaluated the possibility to adopt an author categorization scheme – proposed according to the common understanding of how first-, co-, principal-, or corresponding- author is perceived. Based on an online opinion survey, the scheme was supported by ~80% of the respondents (n=370). The impact of the proposed categorization was then evaluated using a novel mathematical tool to measure "Author Performance Index (API)" that can be higher for those who might have authored more papers as primary and/or principal authors than those as coauthors. Hence, if adopted, the proposed author categorization scheme together with the API would provide a better way to evaluate the credit of an individual as a primary and principal author. The paper analyzes the mapping of research trends and author productivity of global literature on coronavirus output of research publications as indexed in the Web of Science from 1996 to 2020. A total of 12,706 publications were published on Coronavirus during 1996–2020. The highest number of publications, 783 or 6.162% was published in 2004. A total of 33,814 authors contributed to the 12,706 publications (i.e. the total publications shared by 37.57% of the authors). The most prolific authors were Yuen KY with 213 publications; Perlman with 179; Enjuanes with 160; and Baric with 59 publications. The data of one person to 25 people and the study witnessed accordingly measured the value of n = 334.6630. The University of Hong Kong was the most productive institution; it contributed 519 (4.085%) of the publications. The United States of America (USA) holds the highest share of 4,541 (35.73%) of publications followed by the Peoples Republic of China with 21.23%. The research area of virology produced the major share with 3,998 (31.46%) publications globally followed by Veterinary sciences with 1,908 (15.01%). The most productive journal was the Journal of Virology with 1,130 (8.89%); Virology published 480 (3.77%) from the top 25 ranked journals. Scientific contribution in high-impact journals is largely from authors affiliated with institutions in high-income countries (HICs). Publication of papers by contribution of individual countries to leading journals can provide a picture of the most influential countries in a particular discipline. The aim of the study was to identify changes in the patterns in authorship and origin of original research articles in relation to countries' income level in the field of public health in 2016 in comparison to previous studies. A descriptive analysis was conducted based on articles published in highly ranked public health journals in 2016. Based on the inclusion criteria, 368 research articles were identified. Over 80% of these studies were conducted in HICs. Authors were mainly based in HICs (84%), especially in the USA. The majority of first, last, and corresponding authors were affiliated with HICs (over 90%). Our study might serve as a prompt for editorial and advisory boards of the leading international journals to provide more opportunities for researchers based in low and middle-income countries. Would-be writers of fiction face choices as soon as they start thinking about how to get published: What sort of a work is this? Where will the book sit on the shelf? What does the publisher tell the reader about what to expect? And then, where does it sit in company of other works, and where do you sit in the company of other writers? This paper examines three such questions of category choice: plot versus character, genre versus literary, psychology versus philosophy. It asks how do writers – and audiences – make sense of a work of fiction, and with what implications for the process of writing? It suggests how writers might use the differences between them to enhance the experience of reading beyond the expectations set by the categories to which the works have been placed.
