This study aimed to identify the biographical profile of female principals of schools that provide secondary technical-professional education in the Tarapacá Region, Chile. To do so, a qualitative, biographical-narrative design was used, with the participation of four female principals. The authors used semi-structured interviews with a narrative orientation to collect the information, which covered the different stages of their trajectories. The data were processed through an inductive thematic analysis. The findings revealed six common topics in their biographical trajectories: family support, personality characteristics, leadership, academic/professional exce- llence, interpersonal skills, and vocation. The author concludes that the biographical capital of female principals plays a fundamental role in the identity construction of their leadership, especially from a gender-sensitive perspective.
