Evaluación del conocimiento en Lengua Castellana y Literatura de jóvenes aspirantes a becas de Itaipú, Paraguarí, año 2023.

This article presents the results of a knowledge evaluation in the area of Spanish Language and Literature, applied to young applicants for Itaipu scholarships, in the department of Paraguarí. The research approach is quantitative, descriptive in scope and non-experimental design. The data collection instrument was a standardized knowledge test, which included three dimensions: spelling, morphosyntax, and literature. The main purpose was to analyze the level of knowledge in Spanish Language and Literature of the graduates of Secondary Education and compare with other similar studies. The results show a low performance in the subjects evaluated, showing a worsening trend compared to another similar investigation, carried out in 2017. Likewise, the low results obtained by the students show discrepancies with the academic background of Secondary Education, of the which, for the most part, graduated with high performance and with honors. In addition, the investigation reveals that the majority of students did not achieve 70%, the minimum percentage required to pass the subject, according to the Ministry of Education and Sciences.
