In this paper we give a survey of recent work on game theory devoted to modeling decision making under bounded rationality. An agent's deviation from rational choice understood as maximization of gain can be caused by moral principles (religious beliefs, altruism, patriotism), emotions (envy, wrath, shame, regret, or guilt) or simply by an attempt to comply with several criteria not reducible to a single one. In the first part of the survey we consider the behavior of agents subject to temptation, perfectionists, and persons susceptible to self-deceit.

We consider two models of lump sum taxation in pure exchange economy in which the state imposes taxes on (or offers financial aid to) economic agents characterized by their demand functions and initial resources. In the first model the state has its own preferences and uses the collected money to enter the market and maximize its utility while in the second model it uses the taxes to acquire fixed resources necessary for its functioning. We study the existence and structure of equilibria in general economies, the possibility of using taxation to realize Pareto optimal allocations, and the role of taxation as a possible cause of inflation. Special attention is paid to economies with gross substitutability. Bibliography 18 items.

An open clinical trial of amocarzine was carried out in onchocerciasis patients in Ecuador and Guatemala. Administration after food was more effective than that during fasting. The most effective and best tolerated regimen, 3 mg/kg twice daily after food for 3 days (in 312 patients), killed 73% of 1477 female worms at nodulectomy 4 months after treatment. The mean microfilarial skin count was greatly reduced within a week (6-11% of day 0 value on day 8) and it remained low for at least 6 months (14-18% on day 180). Follow-up of a higher dose 3 day regimen taken while fasting showed microfilaridermia of 7-9% of the day 0 value 2 years after treatment.
