Background. The incidence of cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is increasing, but its lack of clear pathogenesis makes its prevention and treatment difficult. Therefore, it is of great significance to clarify the pathogenesis of CRF and find effective methods to treat it. Methods. The CRF model was established by intraperitoneal injection of LLC cells in ICR mice to explore the pathogenesis of CRF and verify the therapeutic effect of the Yifei-Sanjie pill (YFSJ). The active components of YFSJ were found by LC/MS, the in vitro inflammatory infiltration model of skeletal muscle was constructed by TNF-α and C2C12 myoblasts, and the results of in vivo experiments were verified by this model. Results. Behavioral analysis results showed that YFSJ alleviated CRF; histological examination results showed that YFSJ could reverse the tumor microenvironment leading to skeletal muscle injury; ELISA and RNA-seq results showed that the occurrence of CRF and the therapeutic effect of YFSJ were closely related to the tumor inflammatory microenvironment; IHC and WB results showed that the occurrence of CRF and the therapeutic effect of YFSJ were closely related to the Stat3-related signaling pathway and autophagy. Conclusions. YFSJ can reduce the level of inflammation in the tumor microenvironment in vivo, inhibit the abnormal activation of the Stat3/HIF-1α/BNIP3 signaling pathway induced by tumor-related inflammation, thereby inhibiting the overactivation of mitophagy in skeletal muscle, and finally alleviate CRF. Quercetin, one of the components of YFSJ, plays an important role in inhibiting the phosphorylation activation of Stat3.

Chemotherapy-related fatigue (CRF), one of the most severe adverse effects observed in cancer patients, has been theoretically related to oxidative stress, and antioxidant treatment might be one of the most valuable therapeutic approaches. However, there are still few effective pharmacological therapies. Yifei Sanjie pills (YFSJ), a classical formula used to treat lung cancer as complementary and alternative medicine, have been proved to alleviate CRF of lung cancer patients in clinical practices. However, the underlying mechanisms have not been clarified. In this study, our data showed that YFSJ alleviated CRF presented as reversing the decline of swimming time and locomotor activity induced by cisplatin (DDP). Moreover, YFSJ significantly reduces the accidence of mitophagy and mitochondrial damage and reduces apoptosis in skeletal muscle tissues caused by DDP. It probably works by decreasing the oxidative stress, inhibiting the activation of the AMPK/mTOR pathway, decreasing protein expression levels of Beclin1 and other autophagy-related proteins, and attenuating the activation of Cytochrome c (cyto. C), Cleaved Caspase-9 (c-Casp 9), and other apoptosis-related proteins. Furthermore, YFSJ enhanced DDP sensitivity by specifically promoting oxidative stress and activating apoptosis and autophagy in the tumor tissues of mice. It was also found that YFSJ reduced the loss of body weight caused by DDP, reversed the ascent of serum concentrations of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aminotransferase (AST), and creatinine (CREA), increased the spleen index, and prolonged the survival time of mice. Taken together, these results revealed that YFSJ could alleviate CRF by reducing mitophagy and apoptosis induced by oxidative stress in skeletal muscle; these results also displayed the effects of YFSJ on enhancing chemotherapy sensitivity, improving quality of life, and prolonging survival time in lung cancer mice received DDP chemotherapy.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a severe threat to human health. Ginsenosides such as ginsenoside Rh4 have been widely studied in the antitumor field. Here, we investigated the antiproliferative activity and mechanism of Rh4 against CRC in vivo and in vitro. The CRC xenograft model showed that Rh4 inhibited xenograft tumor growth with few side effects ( p < 0.05 ). As determined by MTT colorimetric assays, Western blotting, and immunohistochemical analysis, Rh4 effectively inhibited CRC cell proliferation through autophagy and ferroptosis ( p < 0.05 ). Rh4 significantly upregulated autophagy and ferroptosis marker expression in CRC cells and xenograft tumor tissues in the present study ( p < 0.05 ). Interestingly, the ferroptosis inhibitor ferrostatin-1 (Fer-1) reversed Rh4-induced ferroptosis ( p < 0.05 ). Moreover, the autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine (3-MA) also reversed Rh4-induced ferroptosis ( p < 0.05 ). These results indicate that Rh4-induced ferroptosis is regulated via the autophagy pathway. In addition, Rh4 increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation, leading to the activation of the ROS/p53 signaling pathway ( p < 0.05 ). Transcriptome sequencing also confirmed this ( p < 0.05 ). Moreover, the ROS scavenger N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC) reversed the inhibitory effect of Rh4 on CRC cells ( p < 0.05 ). Therefore, this study proves that Rh4 inhibits cancer cell proliferation by activating the ROS/p53 signaling pathway and activating autophagy to induce ferroptosis, which provides necessary scientific evidence of the great anticancer potential of Rh4.

During cancer development, host’s tumorigenesis and immune signals are released to and informed by circulating molecules, like cell-free DNA (cfDNA) and RNA (cfRNA) in blood. However, these two kinds of molecules are still not systematically compared in gastrointestinal cancer. Here, we profiled 4 types of cell-free omics data from colorectal and stomach cancer patients, and assayed 15 types of genomic, epi-genomic, and transcriptomic variations. First, we demonstrated that the multi-omics data were more capable of detecting cancer genes than the single-omics data, where cfRNAs were more sensitive and informative than cfDNAs in terms of detection ratio, variation type, altered number, and enriched functional pathway. Moreover, we revealed several peripheral immune signatures that were suppressed in cancer patients and originated from specific circulating and tumor-microenvironment cells. Particularly, we defined a γδ-T-cell score and a cancer-associated-fibroblast (CAF) score using the cfRNA-seq data of 143 cancer patients. They were informative of clinical status like cancer stage, tumor size, and survival. In summary, our work reveals the cell-free multi-molecular landscape of colorectal and stomach cancer, and provides a potential monitoring utility in blood for the personalized cancer treatment.

We previously identified a novel lncRNA, CRART16, that could induce cetuximab resistance in colorectal cancer cells. This study explored the relationship of CRART16 expression to gastric cancer progression and the molecular mechanisms involved.We evaluated CRART16 expression in gastric cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues from the TCGA database and our hospital. Besides, we assessed its relationship with the overall survival (OS) of patients with gastric cancer. The effects of CRART16 on gastric cancer angiogenesis were determined by endothelial tube formation assay, spheroid sprouting assay, HUVEC invasion assay, and chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) assay. The involvement of the lncRNA CRART16/miR-122-5p/FOS axis was analyzed by western blotting and dual-luciferase reporter assay. The functions of CRART16 were confirmed in xenograft mouse models.We found that CRART16 was substantially overexpressed in gastric cancer tissues compared with normal tissues, based on the TCGA database and our clinical samples. High expression of CRART16 correlated with more advanced tumor stages and poor prognosis. The utility of cell-free nucleic acids in monitoring cancer has been recognized by both scientists and clinicians. In addition to human transcripts, a fraction of cell-free nucleic acids in human plasma were proven to be derived from microbes and reported to have relevance to cancer. To obtain a better understanding of plasma cell-free RNAs (cfRNAs) in cancer patients, we profiled cfRNAs in ~300 plasma samples of 5 cancer types (colorectal cancer, stomach cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, and esophageal cancer) and healthy donors (HDs) with RNA-seq. Microbe-derived cfRNAs were consistently detected by different computational methods when potential contaminations were carefully filtered. Clinically relevant signals were identified from human and microbial reads, and enriched Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways of downregulated human genes and higher prevalence torque teno viruses both suggest that a fraction of cancer patients were immunosuppressed. Our data support the diagnostic value of human and microbe-derived plasma cfRNAs for cancer detection, as an area under the ROC curve of approximately 0.9 for distinguishing cancer patients from HDs was achieved. Moreover, human and microbial cfRNAs both have cancer type specificity, and combining two types of features could distinguish tumors of five different primary locations with an average recall of 60.4%. Compared to using human features alone, adding microbial features improved the average recall by approximately 8%. In summary, this work provides evidence for the clinical relevance of human and microbe-derived plasma cfRNAs and their potential utilities in cancer detection as well as the determination of tumor sites.

Moreover, these cfRNAs both have some cancer type specificity, and could distinguish tumors of different primary locations. Compared to using human feature alone, combining human and microbial features improves the average validation accuracy of between cancer type classification by 11.5%. Conclusions: In summary, this work provides evidence for the clinical relevance of human and microbe derived plasma cfRNAs, and their potential utilities in cancer detection, and determination of tumor sites.

Solder ball of initial diameter 1.4 mm, was reflow soldered with Cu substrate at 523.15 K using flux doped with Cu@Ag core–shell nanoparticles (NPs) in the proportion 0–2 wt%. The solders were then air cooled to room temperature. The use of NPs, by reducing the base height (H) of the solder and enhanced the diameter (W) of the solder, caused an overall increase in the spread ratio of the solder. The altered magnitudes of heat and mass transfer in these geometrically different but constant volume specimens were analyzed using finite element method. The occurrence of differential concentration gradient, radial thermal gradient and velocity magnitudes, in solders with differing geometry were numerically elaborated. The $$\hbox {Cu}_{6}\hbox {Sn}_{5}$$ intermetallic compound (IMC) formed at the Cu/Sn interface, was obtained to be the thickest for the specimen using undoped flux, whereas it was found to be smallest for the sample processed with flux containing 0.5% NPs. BACKGROUND Sodium dehydroacetate (Na-DHA) is a food and feed additive with antimicrobial effects. There is little information on Na-DHA residue levels in foods derived from animals. In this study, Na-DHA residue levels in swine tissues were determined by HLPC, and the pharmacokinetics of Na-DHA in tissues were determined. RESULTS The Na-DHA residue levels in swine tissues were liver > muscle > fat. The pharmacokinetics of Na-DHA followed a binomial regression model, and the halftime of Na-DHA in swine tissues was 9.07 d for kidney, 7.19 d for liver, 6.66 d for muscle, and 5.39 d for fat tissue. The accuracy of the HPLC method for Na-DHA determination ranged from 80.18 to 91.33% recovery, with coefficients of variation < 6.4%, limit of detection of 0.08 mg kg-1, and limit of quantification of 0.2 mg kg-1. CONCLUSION Na-DHA included at 200 mg kg-1 in a swine diet is a safe feed additive based on residue elimination and ADI values reported.

To investigate the value of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) combined with total pelvic exenteration (TPE) in the treatment of primary T4b rectal cancer.A retrospective cohort study was conducted to analyze the clinicopathological data of 31 patients with primary T4b rectal cancer who underwent TPE from January 2008 to December 2015 at Peking University First Hospital.preoperative clinical stage (cTNM) was defined as cT4b primary rectal cancer with only front wall Invasion; the lower edge of tumor was within 10 cm from the anal margin; TPE was performed; R0 resection was confirmed by pathology. Patients with recurrent rectal cancer, distant metastasis, and undergoing TPE for non-rectal tumors were excluded. Patients were divided into nCRT group and non-nCRT group according to whether receiving nCRT before surgery. The nCRT group received long course radiotherapy (total dose 50 Gy in 25 daily fractions) with concomitant chemotherapy (Capecitabine), and the surgery was performed 6-8 weeks after the neoadjuvant chemoradiation, while the non-nCRT group received surgery directly. The intraoperative, postoperative and pathological conditions and local recurrence were compared between the two groups. The survival curves were drawn by Kaplan-Meier method and the survival of two groups were compared.A total of 31 patients were enrolled, including 13 patients in the nCRT group and 18 patients in the non-nCRT group. The baseline data, such as age, duration of disease, preoperative basic disease, body mass index, smoking rate, and tumor distance from the anal margin, were not significantly different between the two groups (all P0.05). In the nCRT group and non-nCRT group respectively, the ratio of anal preservation was 30.8%(4/13) and 38.9%(7/18) (P=0.468), the median intraoperative blood loss was 1 000 ml and 800 ml (P=0.644), the operation time was (531.7±137.2) minutes and (498.0±90.1) minutes (P=0.703), the median hospital stay was 18 days and 14 days (P=0.400), the morbidity of complications within 30 days after surgery was 23.1%(3/13) and 38.9%(7/18)(P=0.452), the incidence of postoperative abdominal abscess was 15.4%(2/13) and 0 (P=0.168), the proportion of secondary surgery was 7.7%(1/13) and 11.1%(2/18)(P=1.000), whose differences were not significantly different. The proportion of postoperative pathological pT4b in whole group was 58.1%(18/31), including 53.8%(7/13) in nCRT group and 61.1%(11/18) in non-nCRT group, which was not significantly different between the two groups (P=0.691). The number of harvested lymph node in nCRT group was 13.5±5.9, which was significantly less than 23.0±11.8 in non-nCRT group (P=0.013). There was no pathological complete remission (ypCR) case in nCRT group, and among 13 patients, tumor regression grade (TRG) of 2, 3, 4, and 5 was in 1 case (7.7%), 6 cases (46.2%), 5 cases(38.5%), and 1 case (7.7%), respectively. The median follow-up time was 33 (2 to 115) months, and the follow-up rate was 93.5%(29/31). One case was lost in both the nCRT group and non-nCRT group. The 3-year disease-free survival rate was 43.5% in pooled data, and was 43.6% and 43.3% in nCRT group and non-CRT group respectively without significant difference (P=0.833). The 3-year overall survival rate was 51.1% in pooled data, and was 45.7% and 54.7% in nCRT group and non-nCRT group respectively without significant difference (P=0.653).The local recurrence rate of nCRT and non-nCRT groups was 8.3%(1/12) and 5.9%(1/17) respectively, and the distant metastasis rate was 50.0%(6/12) and 41.2%(7/17) respectively, whose differences were not statistically significant as well (P=1.000 and P=0.865, respectively).For primary T4b rectal cancer which can achieve R0 resection through total pelvic exenteration, neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy has not been demonstrated any advantage in tumor regression, reducing local recurrence, or improving survival, and may increase postoperative complications.

Nitrogen fixation is one of the most important issues but a long-standing challenge in chemistry. Here, we propose FeN3-embedded graphene as the catalyst for nitrogen fixation from first-principles calculations. Results show that in view of the chemical coordination, the FeN3 center is highly spin-polarized with a localized magnetic moment substantially to promote N2 adsorption and activate its inert N-N triple bond. The synergy between the graphene and FeN3 equips the system with novel features for the catalytic conversion of the activated N2 into NH3 via a six-proton and six-electron process, following three possible reaction pathways at room temperature. Our findings provide a rational paradigm for catalytic nitrogen fixation that would be conducive to ammonia production.

The clinical application of novel chemotherapeutic drugs including oral 5-FU and targeted drugs and preoperatively accurate imaging grading has brought challenges to the indication criteria developed by NCCN and ESMO for neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). Extended hotspots have focused on the effectiveness of using capecitabine instead of fluorouracil infusion, the combination of multiple drugs and the feasibility of using neoadjuvant chemotherapy instead of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy for selective patients. Traditionally, the evaluation of the effect of neoadjuvant therapy has been based on the effect on the pathological complete remission (pCR) rate. However, current studies recommend the disease-free survival (DFS) as a more important outcome. Besides, seeking for effective biomarkers as predictive markers for neoadjuvant therapies or as prognostic markers remains a hotspot in the field of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy. The "watch and wait" approach refers to taking a close follow-up strategy instead of direct operation for patients achieving clinically complete remission (cCR) after neoadjuvant therapy. However, there is no unified evaluation criteria and time point for the evaluation of cCR following neoadjuvant therapy. Therefore, there remain a lot of controversies regarding the clinical application of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in LARC. In this manuscript, research progress in the indication for neoadjuvant therapy, improvement in the neoadjuvant therapeutic schedule, advancement of the efficacy evaluation criteria of neoadjuvant therapy, the "watch and wait" approach and other hot topics is summarized to provide references for clinical practice.

To investigate the risk factors and computed tomography (CT) diagnostic accuracy of anastomotic leakage after resection of rectal cancer (Dixon).This retrospective study was conducted in Peking University First Hospital from January 2013 to June 2015. A cohort of 452 patients with rectal cancer was enrolled in the study. All the patients underwent anterior resection. The relationship between clinical-pathological data (including sex, age, body mass index (BMI), presence of diabetes, hypohemoglobin (Hb90 g/L), hypoalbuminemia (Alb35 g/L), the distance from the lower edge of the tumors to the anus, tumor diameter, tumor differentiation, tumor TNM stage, neoadjuvant therapy status, ligation of the left colonic artery(LCA), preventive colostomy, and anastomotic leakage was analyzed retrospectively. Univariate analysis using χOf all the cases, 281 and 171 patients were men and women, respectively. The median age was 64 years (range, 18-88 years). Forty-seven patients (10.4%) were diagnosed with anastomotic leakage, and the median diagnostic time of anastomotic leakage was 6.5 days(range, 3-31 days). One patient with anastomotic leakage died because of respiratory failure within 1 month postoperatively; 11 patients underwent salvage colostomy performed 2-34 days (median, 7 days) after the first surgery. All the 11 patients underwent colostomy closure within 2 years. The other 35 patients recovered by antibiotic and peritoneal lavage treatment. The mean length of postoperative hospital stay in patients without anastomotic leakage was 8.4±2.4 days, which was significantly shorter than that in patients with anastomotic leakage (34.6±15.7 days), and the difference was statistically significant (t=24.127, P=0.008). The results of the univariate analysis showed that BMI≥28 kg/mImportant factors, including BMI of patients, LCA ligation, and the distance from the lower edge of the tumors to the anus are related with anastomotic leakage. The individual treatments should be considered based on the patient's clinical condition. CT was recommended 7 days postoperatively when anastomotic leakage was highly suspected.

To investigate the clinicopathological features and prognosis of colorectal synchronous multiple primary cancer(SMPC).From January 2008 to June 2011, 51 patients diagnosed with colorectal SMPC underwent surgery at Department of General Surgery of Peking University First Hospital. Their clinicopathological features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis were summarized and analyzed. SMPC was diagnosed according to the following criteria: each tumor must have a definite pathologic picture of malignancy; metastasis or recurrence from another colorectal cancer was excluded; tumors must be distinctly separated by at least 5 cm of all intact bowel wall from each other; SMPC has abnormal cells between tumor and normal mucosa and abnormal gland of transitional zone; each cancer is infiltrating carcinoma except the carcinoma in situ; all the cancers are detected at the same time or within 6 months. Multiple primary colorectal cancer originated from familial colonic polyposis or ulcerative colitis was excluded.These 51 colorectal SMPC patients accounted for 3.5% of 1 452 colorectal cancer patients in the same period at our hospital, with 32 males and 19 females, and mean age of (63±13)(29 to 82) years. Of 51 cases, 46(90.2%) had 2 original carcinoma, 3(5.9%) had 3 original carcinoma and 2(3.9%) had 4 carcinoma; 23(45.1%) complicated with colon polyps, 4(7.8%) complicated with malignancy outside the colorectum. In TNM staging, 7(13.7%), 15(29.4%), 24(47.1%) and 5(9.8%) patients were stage I(, II(, III( and IIII( respectively. Among 51 patients undergoing surgery by different procedures, 16 were subtotal colon resection, 8 were extended right colon resection, 5 were extended left hemicolon resection, 8 were right hemicolon resection plus Dixon procedure, 10 were Dixon, and 4 were right hemicolon resection plus sigmoid colon resection. Adjuvant chemotherapy and support treatment were given according to the condition after operation. A total of 105 tumors were found, including 25(23.8%) tumors in sigmoid colon, 24(22.9%) in rectum, 22(21.0%) in ascending colon and 4 in organs outside the colorectum. Tubular adenocarcinoma (86/105, 81.9%) was the main pathological type in these colorectal SMPC patients. During the follow-up of median 43.5 months, 10 cases presented local recurrence and 6 cases had liver metastasis. Multivariable analysis showed that ≤65 years old (OR=22.757, 95%CI: 1.562-331.543, P=0.002),undifferentiated carcinoma or mucous adenocarcinoma (OR=27.174, 95%CI: 2.834-260.512, P=0.004), stage III(-IIII( (OR=29.626, 95%CI: 3.216-272.884, P=0.003) were independent risk factors of postoperative 5-year recurrence and metastasis, but the number of SMPC lesions and the surgical method were not associated with postoperative 5-year recurrence and metastasis (P=0.564, P=0.513). The 3-year and 5-year survival rates of colorectal SMPC patients were 76.5% and 64.7%.Two-original carcinoma is the most common in colorectal SMPC patients, which mainly distributes in sigmoid colon and rectum. Postoperative monitoring should be strengthened for those patients with younger age, poor pathological types and advanced staging to prevent recurrence and metastasis.

AIM This study aimed to analyse the potential significance of metastasis to the inferior mesenteric artery lymph node (IMA-LN) in patients with malignancy of the left colon and rectum. METHOD A retrospective analysis of a cohort of 890 patients collected prospectively who underwent radical resection of a primary tumour of the descending colon, sigmoid colon and rectum in our department from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2015 was performed. Patients were divided into an IMA-LN metastasis (IMA-LN (+)) group (n = 51) and a non IMA-LN metastasis (IMA-LN (-)) group (n = 839). A total of 801 patients were followed by a designated member of the study staff. Clinical features, pathological characteristics, recurrence patterns and survival rates were compared between the two groups. RESULTS In the IMA-LN (+) group, the risk ratio of overall recurrence and tumour related death was 7.786 (95% CI 4.142-14.637) and 7.756 (95% CI 4.142-14.525) respectively. Recently, developing thick interfacial intermetallic compound layers with rough morphology has been detrimental to the long term solder joint reliability for lead free solders currently. A novel method has been developed to control the morphology and growth of intermetallic compound layers between pure Sn solder ball and Cu substrate by doping flux with amount of 2wt.% metallic Cu nanoparticles. And lead-free Sn solder balls of diameter 1.4 mm were placed on top of the flux and solder at temperature of 250°C for 10s, 30s and 60s, respectively. Microstructural characterization and elemental compositions of solder joints were examined by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (OXFORD, EDX). Although at first 10 s of soldering time, both doped and undoped solder joints were characterized with scalloped Cu 6 Sn 5 IMC, it was observed that with the extension of soldering time, the IMC of undoped specimen underwent faster transition to sharp edged, faceted grains or prismatic crystal shaped morphology. And that Cu nanoparticles doped into flux has significantly influenced the morphology of IMC at the interface of solder joint. Moreover, Cu nanoparticles may block the channels between the IMC scallops and are preferentially absorbed at the growth front of IMC scallops, and the Cu nanoparticles can have a reaction with the Sn in solder and feed the interfacial reaction, which lead to the coarsening of IMC grains. Thus, doping of flux with appropriate metallic nanoparticles can be successfully used to control the morphology and growth of intermetallic compound layers at the solder/substrate interface which is expected to lead to better reliability of electronic devices.

Nitrogen-doped graphene (N-graphene) has attractive properties that has been widely studied over the years. However, its possible formation process still remains unclear. Here, we propose a highly feasible formation mechanism of the graphitic-N doing in thermally treated graphene with ammonia by performing ab initio molecular dynamic simulations at experimental conditions. Results show that among the commonly native point defects in graphene, only the single vacancy 5–9 and divacancy 555–777 have the desirable electronic structures to trap N-containing groups and to mediate the subsequent dehydrogenation processes. The local structure of the defective graphene in combining with the thermodynamic and kinetic effect plays a crucial role in dominating the complex atomic rearrangement to form graphitic-N which heals the corresponding defect perfectly. The importance of the symmetry, the localized force field, the interaction of multiple trapped N-containing groups, as well as the catalytic effect of the temporarily formed bridge-N are emphasized and the predicted doping configuration agrees well with the experimental observation. Hence, the revealed mechanism will be helpful for realizing the targeted synthesis of N-graphene with reduced defects and desired properties.

We examined the effects of power and treatment time on the ultrasonically enhanced ozonation of carbazole dissolved in APG(1214) surfactant solutions, including an analysis of the mechanism of OH radical formation, the zeta potential of the colloidal suspension, the influence of ultrasound on micellar morphology, and the degradation kinetics for carbazole and APG(1214). A 30min ultrasound treatment at 28kHz and 20W improved the degradation of carbazole by 5-10%, while power levels of 40W and 80W provided improvements only during the first 5min and resulted in reduced degradation after 15min. The OH concentration was inversely proportional to ultrasound power, and directly proportional to the irradiation time. The absolute value of the APG(1214) micelle zeta potential was inversely proportional to power and decreased with increasing irradiation time. The relationships of OH radical concentration in APG(1214) micelles, the zeta potential, and the micellar dynamic radius (R(h)) to ultrasonic power and time are the key factors affecting carbazole degradation in this system.

Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the clinicopathologic features of gastric adenoma.

A two-stage UASB and 2-stage BAF series bioreactor was used for treating the microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) wastewater. The treating efficiency, dominant microbes, eubacterial and archaebacterial composition and cel5 A, cel6 B and bgl C gene expression levels were examined using combined PCR-DGGE and real-time PCR technology. The results showed that under three MCC loads (1000, 2000 and 3000 mg L −1 ), the total MCC degradation efficiency of the UASB-BAF system was 82.0%, 83.5% and 70.5%, respectively. In different MCC load cases, the first stage UASB and BAF formed an approximate full-value cellulase system where cellulolytic microorganisms were the dominant flora, while the second stage UASB and BAF formed a low-value cellulase system where non-cellulolytic microorganisms were the dominant flora. Eubacteria were dominant in every UASB-BAF unit. The rate-limiting enzyme gene for MCC degradation in every unit was cel6 B. These results will support the development of high efficiency bio-reactors for the degradation of MCC.

Distributed generator (DG), with its flexible power generation, environment-friendly advantages has been more widely used in distribution system, which has brought some influence to the traditional distribution network reliability evaluation. In this paper, two different models for conventional DG and wind turbine generator (WTG) are established for reliability evaluation, based on different energy sources and operation characteristics. This paper presents a technique to obtain the WTG output using statistical wind speed information, considering to the intermittent characteristics of wind power. On this basis, an improved minimal cut set algorithm is proposed to evaluate the reliability of distribution network with DG. Finally, the simulation of a typical distribution line with DG verifies the validity of this method.
