Herein, we develop an effective approach for incorporating lead (Pb) ions into manganese (Mn) halide perovskite-analogue nanocrystals (PA NCs) of CsMn(Cl/Br)3·2H2O via room-temperature supersaturation recrystallization. Pb2+-incorporated Mn-PA NCs exhibit strong orange emission upon UV light illumination, a peak centered at 600 nm assigned to Mn2+ transition (4T1g → 6A1g) with a photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 41.8% compared to the pristine Mn-PA NCs with very weak PL (PLQY = 0.10%). The significant enhancement of PLQY is attributed to the formation of [Mn(Cl/Br)4(OH)2]4--[Pb(Cl/Br)4(OH)2]4--[Mn(Cl/Br)4(OH)2]4- chain network structure, in which Pb2+ effectively dilutes the Mn2+ concentration to reduce magnetic coupling between Mn2+ pairs to relax the spin and parity selection rules. In addition, excited energy can effectively transfer from the [Pb(Cl/Br)4(OH)2]4- unit to Mn2+ luminescence centers owing to the low activation energy. Pb2+-incorporated PA NCs also exhibit excellent stability. The combined strong PL and high stability make Pb2+-incorporated Mn-based PA NCs an excellent candidate for potential optronic applications.

The high performance phase shifter is of significant interest in the modern communication system. New type coplanar waveguide (CPW) structure dielectrics phase shifters are reported; the microwave characteristics of the devices are systematically studied by the FEA method basing on HFSS (ANSYS Electronics®). It is found that the proposed phase shifters can operate over 10 GHz. The influence of active varactor area, dielectric thickness and the matching of pads are analyzed. The tuning effects of the phase shifters are also investigated by changing the relative permittivity $(\varepsilon_{r})$ of the dielectric layer. In order to increase the absolute phase shifting angle, assorted structures with multiple varactors are designed. By increasing the number of varactors, the phase angle shifting of the devices can be multiplied, but the insertion loss of the phase shifters will also increase. The proposed structures are compact and easy to fabricate, which can be used for the rapidly developing microwave industry.

This work demonstrates super-high frequency wave-guided surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices based on LiNbO3/SiO2/Si layered substrates. SAW resonators with fundamental operating frequency to the 7-GHz range were developed, and wave modes like the Rayleigh, Shear-horizontal ( SH), Pseudo-Bulk, etc., were observed. Furthermore, effective coupling coefficients ( k2 eff) and quality factor ( Q) of the devices have been investigated systematically. Specifically, spurious-free SAW resonators with the SH wave frequency over 7.40 GHz and the high k2 eff value of ∼7.8% were obtained at a nanoscale wavelength of 480 nm. Finally, high-performance filters with a bandwidth over 300 MHz were achieved. The demonstrated filters show sharp roll-off and spurious-free responses within the passband with insertion loss 3 film can potentially enable the low-loss and wideband signal processing functions, promising for the next-generation radio frequency front-end system applications.

The identification and optimization of tunable dielectric materials exhibiting low loss characteristics in the GHz frequencies are essential in the development of low power devices for microwave applications. We have applied a combinatorial synthetic methodology employing multiple atomic evaporative sources to produce compositional gradient thin film (Ba,Sr)(Ti,Mn)O3 perovskites. High throughput screening chips of both capacitive and waveguide structures are used to measure the compositional dependence of the dielectric properties of the fully characterised thin film materials. The co-planar waveguides are shown to allow measurements at frequencies exceeding 10 GHz. Using this methodology, we haveidentified (Ba,Sr)(Ti,Mn)O3 compositions which exhibit good tunability with low losses at microwave frequencies: for a single device with a 10 V DC bias one can achieve a 12 phase shift with excellent transmission characteristics, and an insertion loss of ~3.2 dB We show that small changes in composition can result in a significant change in dielectric characteristics and device performance, and that the experimental protocol developed provides a powerful methodology for the development of materials and microwave devices.

Flexible electronics and microsystems are an emerging technology with a tremedous impact to the future electronics and information technology and widespread applications. Various devices and microsystems have been developed. Surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices are a type of essential device for electronics, microsensors and microsystems; however there is no activity on the development of flexible SAW devices yet. This paper reports the development of flexible SAW devices on cheap, bendable and disposable plastic films. Flexible SAW devices with resonant frequency of 198.1 MHz and 447 MHz for the Rayleigh and Lamb waves respectively have been obtained with a large transmission signal up to 18dB. The flexible SAW devices have also demonstrated their ability for acoustic streaming with a velocity up to 3.4 cm/s and for particle concentration. The results have clearly demonstrated that the flexible SAW devices have great potential for applications in electronics and microsystems.

ZnO thin film-based surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices were fabricated on Si, glass and polyimide (PI) substrates, and their microfluidic performances were compared. The Rayleigh and Sezawa mode waves were observed from the ZnO/Si devices, the Rayleigh and Lamb modes from the ZnO/PI, and only the Rayleigh mode from the ZnO/glass devices. The ZnO/Si devices have the best performance with the highest acoustic streaming velocity of about 10 cm/s and the shortest particle concentration time of less than 10 sec. The ZnO/glass SAW devices deliver comparable performances to that on Si substrate, while the ZnO/PI devices perform not as good as the devices on other two types of substrates due to the large acoustic attenuation, but still can deliver a streaming velocity up to 1.0 cm/s and reasonable particle concentration function with a particle concentration time of ∼70 sec. Egg albumen as the dielectric, and dissolvable Mg and W as the top and bottom electrodes are used to fabricate water-soluble memristors. 4 × 4 cross-bar configuration memristor devices show a bipolar resistive switching behavior with a high to low resistance ratio in the range of 1 × 10(2) to 1 × 10(4), higher than most other biomaterial-based memristors, and a retention time over 10(4) s without any sign of deterioration, demonstrating its high stability and reliability. Metal filaments accompanied by hopping conduction are believed to be responsible for the switching behavior of the memory devices. The Mg and W electrodes, and albumen film all can be dissolved in water within 72 h, showing their transient characteristics. This work demonstrates a new way to fabricate biocompatible and dissolvable electronic devices by using cheap, abundant, and 100% natural materials for the forthcoming bioelectronics era as well as for environmental sensors when the Internet of things takes off.

This paper reports high performance flexible Lamb wave humidity sensors with a graphene oxide sensing layer. The devices were fabricated on piezoelectric ZnO thin films deposited on flexible polyimide substrates. Two resonant peaks, namely the zero order antisymmetric (A0) and symmetric (S0) mode Lamb waves, were observed and fitted well with the theoretical analysis and modelling. With graphene oxide microflakes as the sensing layer, the sensing performance of both wave modes was investigated. The humidity sensitivity of the A0 mode is 145.83 ppm per %RH (at humidity 85%RH), higher than that of S0 mode of 89.35 ppm per %RH. For the first time, we have demonstrated that the flexible humidity sensors work as usual without noticeable deterioration in performance even under severe bending conditions up to 1500 μe. Also the sensors showed an excellent stability upon repeated bending for thousand times. All the results demonstrated that the Lamb wave flexible humidity sensors have a great potential for application in flexible electronics.

We report ZnO/glass surface acoustic wave (SAW) humidity sensors with high sensitivity and fast response using graphene oxide sensing layer. The frequency shift of the sensors is exponentially correlated to the humidity change, induced mainly by mass loading effect rather than the complex impedance change of the sensing layer. The SAW sensors show high sensitivity at a broad humidity range from 0.5%RH to 85%RH with < 1 sec rise time. The simple design and excellent stability of our GO-based SAW humidity sensors, complemented with full humidity range measurement, highlights their potential in a wide range of applications.

A novel flexible Film Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonators (FBARs) based on ZnO/PET structure was fabricated without back-etch. The PET layer is applied as acoustic reflector and substrate of FBAR. It has 1.14GHz parallel resonant frequency, 1.229GHz series resonant frequency and about 150 Q factors. The FBARs acoustic impedance is improved by using harden metal Au instead of Al as the bottom electrodes. The ZnO/PET structure FBAR is also simulated by COSMOL to confirm its working mechanism.

Flexible electronics are a very promising technology for various applications. Several types of flexible devices have been developed, but there has been limited research on flexible electromechanical systems (MEMS). Surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices are not only an essential electronic device, but also are the building blocks for sensors and MEMS. Here we report a method of making flexible SAW devices using ZnO nanocrystals deposited on a cheap and bendable plastic film. The flexible SAW devices exhibit two wave modes - the Rayleigh and Lamb waves with resonant frequencies of 198.1 MHz and 447.0 MHz respectively, and signal amplitudes of 18 dB. The flexible devices have a high temperature coefficient of frequency, and are thus useful as sensitive temperature sensors. Moreover, strong acoustic streaming with a velocity of 3.4 cm/s and particle concentration using the SAW have been achieved, demonstrating the great potential for applications in electronics and MEMS.

Objective: To explore the effect of nursing intervention on the mental health status of patients through maintenance of hemodialysis patients with psychological counseling, psychological health education, treatment and other aspects while promoting the treatment of the disease. To study the effect of nursing intervention on the self-behavior management and anxiety in the patients. Methods: The psychological status of the patients was assessed through questionnaires which conducted by nurses with patients. The nurses asked for cooperation of patients and led them to complete a classified questionnaire. According to different psychological problems, the corresponding nursing measures were taken. Results: Most of the patients with maintenance hemodialysis had different levels of depression, fear, paranoia, interpersonal sensitivity and other psychological problems. Conclusion: Patients, who had psychological problems, received nursing intervention through nurse-patient relationship in the maintenance of hemodialysis patients. Self-care education could improve patients' self-management, which could reduce the patients' anxiety and depression. Their mental health had significantly improved. The treatment of disease ensured long-term survival, prolonged their life cycle and improved quality of life of patients.

AlN and AlScN thin films with 27% scandium (Sc) were synthesized by DC magnetron sputtering deposition and used to fabricate surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices. Compared with AlN-based devices, the AlScN SAW devices exhibit much better transmission properties. Scandium doping results in electromechanical coupling coefficient, K2, in the range of 2.0% ∼ 2.2% for a wide normalized thickness range, more than a 300% increase compared to that of AlN-based SAW devices, thus demonstrating the potential applications of AlScN in high frequency resonators, sensors, and high efficiency energy harvesting devices. The coupling coefficients of the present AlScN based SAW devices are much higher than that of the theoretical calculation based on some assumptions for AlScN piezoelectric material properties, implying there is a need for in-depth investigations on the material properties of AlScN.

Rayleigh surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices based on 128° YX LiNbO3 and ZnO/Si substrates with different resonant frequencies from ∼62 MHz to ∼275 MHz were fabricated and characterized. Effects of SAW frequency and power on microfluidic performance (including streaming, pumping, and jetting) were investigated. SAW excitation frequency influenced the SAW attenuation length and hence the acoustic energy absorbed by the liquid. At higher frequencies (e.g., above 100 MHz), the SAW dissipated into liquid decays more rapidly with much shorter decay lengths. Increasing the radio frequency (RF) frequencies of the devices resulted in an increased power threshold for streaming, pumping, and especially jetting, which is attributed to an increased absorption rate of acoustic wave energy. ZnO SAW devices could achieve similar streaming, pumping, and jetting effects as well as frequency effect, although the SAW signals are relatively weaker.

Bendable surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices were fabricated using high quality c-axis orientation ZnO films deposited on flexible polyethylene terephthalate substrates at 120 °C. Dual resonance modes, namely, the zero order pseudo asymmetric (A0) and symmetric (S0) Lamb wave modes, have been obtained from the SAW devices. The SAW devices perform well even after repeated flexion up to 2500 μe for 100 times, demonstrating its suitability for flexible electronics application. The SAW devices are also highly sensitive to compressive and tensile strains, exhibiting excellent anti-strain deterioration property, thus, they are particularly suitable for sensing large strains.

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) based ultraviolet (UV) light sensors have a high sensitivity and have been extensively studied and explored for application. However, all of them were made of piezoelectric (PE) bulk materials or PE thin films on crystalline substrates such as Si and sapphire. This paper reports the fabrication of ZnO thin film SAW UV-light sensors on glass substrates and the effect of post-deposition thermal annealing on the sensing performance. It was found that annealing at temperatures higher than 300 °C can improve the properties of ZnO films and the sensing performance of the UV-sensors remarkably. When the ZnO film annealed at 400 °C was used for sensors, the UV light induced resonant frequency shift increased more than 20 times with the response speed reduced to less than 2.4 s, much better than those made on ZnO films with lower temperature annealing.

This paper reports the fabrication of flexible surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices on ZnO/polyimide substrates and investigation of the effects of the deposition conditions, crystal quality, and film thickness of the ZnO films on the performance of the SAW devices. The deposition pressure has a significant effect on the crystal quality of the ZnO film, and which in turn affects the transmission of the SAW devices strongly. The device performance improves greatly and is mainly attributed to the better crystal quality of the film deposited at high pressure. The performance of the SAW devices also improves significantly with increase in ZnO film thickness, owing to the reduced defects and improved piezoelectric effect for the films with large grain sizes and better crystallinity as the film thickness increases. Flexible SAW devices with a resonant frequency of 153 MHz, a phase velocity of 1836 m/s, and a coupling coefficient of 0.79% were obtained on the ZnO film of 4 μm thickness, demonstrated its great potential for applications in electronics and microsystems.
