In this study, we have developed a metal-free, photoinduced energy transfer strategy for the efficient difunctionalization of carbon-nitrogen double bonds (C═N). Utilizing oxime ester-based bifunctional reagents, we have achieved direct radical difunctionalization of C═N bonds through nitrogen-nitrogen radical coupling, with over 35 examples and yields up to 96%. This method exhibits broad substrate scope, being compatible with a variety of carboxylic acids and biologically active molecules, thus offering a novel approach for the difunctionalization of heteroatom-containing unsaturated bonds in synthetic chemistry.

For further development of light sources, white light-emitting diodes ( w LEDs) have attracted widespread attention as promising next-generation light sources fabricated via the combination of phosphors and LED chips. However, latent defects, such as chemical/thermal instability, low color rendering index (CRI) and high correlated color temperature (CCT), of current mainstream w LEDs seriously hinder their further large-scale implementation. Herein, in order to overcome these limitations, single-phase color-tunable gaudefroyite (Ca 3 Y(GaO) 3 (BO 3 ) 4 (CYGB)) tridoped with Bi 3+ /Tb 3+ /Eu 3+ ions was synthesized for the first time and detailed characterisation was performed via high-temperature solid-state reaction and structural/spectral analyses, respectively. Radius difference percentage calculations and Rietveld refinements indicate that dopants occupy both Y 3+ and Ca 2+ sites but preferably the Y 3+ site over the Ca 2+ site due to the same valence state. Through subtly regulating the (co)doping contents and skillfully utilizing the energy transfer (ET) strategy from the allowed transition of blue light-emitting Bi to the forbidden transition of green/red light-emitting Tb/Eu, the color hue (including white light) of highly efficient PL can be easily tuned according to the need. Meanwhile, composition/content-optimized white light-emitting CYGB:2%Bi/10%Tb/12%Eu also shows splendid chemical/thermal stability. Finally, as a proof-of-concept experiment, the CYGB:2%Bi/10%Tb/12%Eu phosphor-converted w LED (pc- w LED) was fabricated and encapsulated via the up-to-date remote 'capping' method, which imparted attractive performances. Altogether, the stable CYGB:Bi/Tb/Eu phosphor is a promising candidate for application in lighting/display fields.

Utilizing energy transfer catalysis, this research employed the bifunctional reagents benzotriazole carboxylic acid oxime esters to simultaneously generate benzotriazole and imine radicals. The synthesis of two distinct C-N bonds in a single conversion is showcased through radical addition and radical-radical cross-coupling processes between benzotriazole carboxylic acid oxime ester and olefins. This process facilitates the intermolecular two-component unsymmetrical diamination reaction of olefins. Using this approach, more than 40 benzotriazole-containing molecules were successfully synthesized using styrene, indole, and benzofuran as acceptors, with yields ranging from moderate to excellent.

Phosphor-converted white light-emitting diodes (pc- w LEDs) have attracted attention in the field of solid-state lighting. Selection and study of suitable single-phase phosphor and packaging modes are currently the main research hotspots. Herein, color-tunable photoluminescence (PL) and thermally stable tri-doped Melitite Sr 2 MgSi 2 O 7 :Ce/Tb/Sm are systematically studied via structural and static/dynamic spectral analyses. All dopants could only be accommodated in the Sr site due to similar ionic radii. Previous studies have concluded that green and red PL could be obtained from singly doped Tb and Sm phosphors with excellent reproduction, and color tunable PL can be achieved from Ce/Tb co-doped phosphors. The forbidden 4f-4f transitions of Tb/Sm cause low efficiency and Ce/Tb co-doping cannot achieve white light emissions. Alternatively, co-doping allowed 5d-4f transition sensitizer with emissions in the UV-blue region ( i.e. , Ce), color-tunable PL (including the white light); high efficiency of Sr 2 MgSi 2 O 7 :Ce/Tb/Sm could be achieved via energy transfer (ET) from Ce → Tb → Sm. The impossibly direct ET from Ce → Sm is associated with the side metal-metal charge transfer (MMCT) effect. Due to chemically nonequivalent substitutions, two positive Ce(Tb,Sm) Sr and one negative V'' Sr were created to maintain the whole charge balance. To reduce the defects and allow more dopants to enter into the Sr site, Na + was added as a charge balancer to enhance PL efficiency. Furthermore, an alkaline-earth-metal-ions blending strategy via partial replacement of Sr with Ba was investigated to regulate PL owing to the change in crystal field splitting. PL blue-shifted by Ba-co-doping, which could increase the degree of overlapping and enhance ET efficiency. As a proof-of-concept experiment, the pc- w LED fabricated via a combination of the optimal Sr(Ba) 2 MgSi 2 O 7 :Ce/Tb/Sm/Na and an n -UV LED chip based on a remote 'capping' packaging mode shows excellent performances, indicating its strong potential application in the field of solid-state lighting.

The 1,2-iminylalkylation of diazenes using alkyl iodides in combination with an O -benzoyl oxime is reported. In this transformation, O -benzoyl oxime acted as a radical precursor and XAT mediator. In addition to common alkyl iodides, other alkyl iodides such as iodomethane, iodomethane- d 3 , trifluoroiodomethane, ethyl difluoroiodoacetate, and iodoalkanes containing unprotected hydroxyl and amide groups can also serve as C-radical precursors in the 1,2-iminylalkylation with electrophilic diazenes as radical acceptors.

In this study, a metal-free difunctionalization strategy for diazenes was developed using a range of bifunctionalization reagents. This strategy involves a unique N(sp 3 )-N(sp 2 ) radical coupling between the hydrazine radical and the imine radical. More than 30 triazane core motifs were constructed by installing imines and various functional groups, including alkyl, phenyl, cyanoalkyl, and sulfonyl groups, on both ends of the nitrogen-nitrogen bond of diazenes in an efficient manner.

In this study, we developed a strategy using commercially available alkyl iodides and O -benzoyl oxime to efficiently introduce alkyl and iminyl groups via energy transfer and halogen-atom transfer processes. We performed three-component 1,2-carboimination of olefins and four-component 1,4-carboimination across olefins and alkynes, resulting in the synthesis of over 60 nitrogen-containing molecules. Moreover, this transformation enables the synthesis of molecules with sensitive groups that were previously difficult to achieve.

A palladium-catalyzed ring-opening [3 + 2]-annulation of spirovinylcyclopropanyl oxindoles with seven-membered cyclic N -sulfonylimines has been developed. A wide range of seven-membered benzosultams featuring both a quaternary center and axially chiral biaryl scaffolds have been afforded in an average yield of 87% with moderate to excellent diastereoselectivities. The enantioenriched benzosultams were also accessed successfully in good yields with excellent atropoenantioselectivities enabled by the Pd 2 (dba) 3 /( S , S , S )-SKP ligand. The practical utility of this protocol was further demonstrated by the gram-scale reaction and diversified synthetic transformations of the desired seven-membered benzosultam.

Direct oxidation of organosilanes is one of the most straightforward ways to access silanols. Herein, we describe a novel photo-induced strategy for oxidation of organosilanes to access silanols, promoted by a photoactive charge-transfer complex (CTC) between sodium benzenesulfinate and molecular O 2 . A streamlined sequence transformation of organosilanes to silyl ethers was also readily achieved. This developed protocol represents the first example of CTC-based oxidation of organosilanes, offering a facile approach to access a series of silanol and silyl ether products.

A new class of iminosulfonylation reagents were developed and extensively used in the 1,2-iminosulfonylation of various olefins. Olefins containing bioactive molecules, such as indomethacin, gemfibrozil, clofibrate, and fenbufen, afforded the desired iminosulfonylation products in synthetically useful yields. Furthermore, the first remote 1,6-iminosulfonylation of alkenes was realized by using oxime ester bifunctionalization reagents. Overall, more than 40 structurally diverse β-imine sulfones were obtained in moderate to excellent yields.

A vinyl radical-mediated 1,5-hydrogen atom transfer strategy for remote C(sp 3 )-H imination under visible-light-induced photochemical metal-free conditions afforded diverse γ-imino alkenes with excellent stereoselectivity. Oxime ester-based bifunctional reagents provided not only nucleophilic alkyl radicals for radical addition reactions with electron-deficient alkynes but also long-lived steady-state imine radicals for trapping alkyl radicals following the intramolecular 1,5-hydrogen migration of unstable olefin radicals.

The modular cyanoalkylamination of alkenes using bench-stable and easy-to-handle α-imino-oxy acid oxime esters as difunctional reagents creates new synthetic avenues. A metal-free photosensitization protocol for the installation of both amino and cyanoalkyl functionalities onto alkene feedstocks in a single step via two differently reactive nitrogen-centered radicals was developed via energy-transfer catalysis. Excellent functional group tolerance and mild reaction conditions also render this protocol suitable for the cyanoalkylamination of pharmaceutically relevant molecule-derived alkenes.

A novel visible-light-driven organocatalytic protocol to access aerobic oxidative cleavage of olefins, promoted by sodium benzene sulfinate, is described herein. An array of alkenes smoothly delivered the corresponding aldehydes and ketones under transition-metal-free conditions. Notably, α-halo-substituted styrenes proceeded with photoinduced oxidation to finally afford α-halo-acetophenones with halogen migration. Crucial to this oxidation was the formation of charge-transfer complexes between sodium benzene sulfinate with molecular O 2 to ultimately deliver the carbonyl products.

Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) is considered to be a crucial gene in the animal development of bone and body size. In this study, a unique synonymous mutation (c.258 A > G) of the IGF-1 gene was modified with an adenine base editor to observe the growth and developmental situation of mutant mice. Significant expression differences and molecular mechanisms among vectors with different alanine synonymous codons were explored. Although modification of a single synonymous codon rarely interferes with animal phenotypes, we observed that the expression and secretion of IGF-1 were different between 8-week-old homozygous (Ho) and wild-type (WT) mice. In addition, the IGF-1 with optimal codon combinations showed a higher expression content than other codon combination modes at both transcription and translation levels and performed proliferation promotion. The gene stability and translation initiation efficiency also changed significantly. A visible-light-driven, photocatalyst-free route starting from easily accessed ortho -hydroxycinnamic esters and O -perfluoropyridin-4-yl oximes has been successfully developed to rapidly assemble a wide range of 3-cyanoalkyl coumarins. This process does not require addition of external photocatalysts, exhibiting beneficial features including mild reaction conditions, synthetic simplicity, and excellent substrate compatibility. Extensive mechanistic investigations revealed that the in situ generated phenolate anions served as photosensitizers to drive this photoinduced transformation.

Acyl oximes are directly used as the acyl radical precursors in the hydroacylation reactions for the first time. In this work, acyl radicals can be effectively generated via β -scission of a phosphoranyl radical under photocatalytic conditions. As a result, the hydroacylation of alkenes triggered by the resulting acyl radicals leads to facile syntheses of a range of valuable ketones.

A photoinduced SET process enables the direct B-H bond activation of NHC-boranes. In contrast to common hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) strategies, this photoinduced reaction simply takes advantage of the beneficial redox potentials of NHC-boranes, thus obviating the need for extra radical initiators. The resulting NHC-boryl radical was used for the borylation of a wide range of α-trifluoromethylalkenes and alkenes with diverse electronic and structural features, providing facile access to highly functionalized borylated molecules. A visible-light-induced, catalyst-free radical cross-coupling cyclization of diselenides or disulfides with N -allylbromodifluoroacetamide has been developed. This developed protocol exhibits good functional group tolerance and affords a variety of 4-thio- and 4-seleno-substituted 3,3-difluoro-γ-lactams in moderate to good yields. Based on control experiments, a plausible radical-radical cross-coupling pathway is proposed.

O -Perfluoropyridin-4-yl group was first installed onto cycloketone oximes as a new electrophore, which was proven to be efficient iminyl radical precursors under photocatalytic and thermal conditions. A range of O -perfluoropyridin-4-yl oximes were successfully utilized in C(sp 2 )-C(sp 3 ) bond formations of quinoxalin-2(1 H )-ones and alkenes, providing facile accesses to a range of functionalized alkylnitriles.

The first photoredox-catalyzed defluoroborylation of polyfluoroarenes with NHC-BH 3 has been facilely achieved at room temperature via a single-electron-transfer (SET)/radical addition pathway. This new strategy makes full use of the advantage of photoredox catalysis to generate the key boryl radical via direct activation of a B-H bond. Good functional group tolerance and high regioselectivity offer this protocol incomparable advantages in preparing a wide array of valuable polyfluoroarylboron compounds. Moreover, both computational and experimental studies were performed to illustrate the reaction mechanism.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Tongxiening Granules (, TXNG) in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with predominant diarrhea (IBS-D)., Methods: A randomized, double-blind, double-dummy, and positive parallel controlled clinical trial was conducted from October 2014 to March 2016. Totally 342 patients from 13 clinical centers were enrolled and randomly assigned (at the ratio of 1:1) to a treatment group (171 cases) and a control group (171 cases) by a random coding table. The patients in the treatment group were administered orally with TXNG (5 g per time) combined with pinaverium bromide Tablet simulator (50 mg per time), 3 times per day. The patients in the control group were given TXNG simulator (5 g per time) combined with pinaverium bromide Tablets (50 mg per time), 3 times per day. The treatment course lasted for 6 weeks. The improvement of Irritable Bowel Syndrome Symptom Severity Score (IBS-SSS) was used to evaluate the primary outcome. Secondary outcomes included adequate relief (AR) rate, Irritable Bowel Syndrome-Quality of Life Questionnaire (IBS-QOL), Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), and the recurrence rate at follow-ups. Safety indices including the adverse events (AEs) and related laboratory tests were evaluated., Results: Primary outcome: IBS-SSS at baseline, weeks 2, 4, 6 showed no statistical significance in both full analysis set (FAS) and per protocol set (PPS, P>0.05). After 6 weeks of treatment, the total effective rate of IBS-SSS scores in the treatment group (147/171,86.0%) was higher than the control group (143/171, 83.6%) by FAS (P>0.05). In regard to secondary outcomes, after 6-week treatment, there was no significant difference in AR rate, total score of IBS-QOL, improvement of HAMD and HAMA total scores between the two groups (P>0.05). The recurrence rate at 8-week follow-up was 12.35% (10/18) in treatment group and 15.79% (12/76) in control group, respectively (P>0.05). A total of 21 AEs occurred in 15 cases, of which 11 occurred in 8 cases in the treatment group and 10 AEs in 7 cases in the control group. The incidence of AEs had no statistical significance between the two goups (P>0.05)., Conclusion: Tongxiening Granules could relieve the symptoms of patients with IBS-D and the treatment effect was comparable to pinaverium bromide. A general and straightforward protocol for di-/perfluoroalkylation of ortho-hydroxycinnamic esters via a photoredox-catalyzed cascade was developed to access a variety of 3-fluoroalkylated coumarins. This method was characterized by all-in-one synthetic design, simplified operation, mild reaction conditions, and broad substrate scope. Moreover, a sequential one-pot procedure starting from commercially available salicylaldehyde was also successfully realized to synthesize 3-fluoroalkylated coumarins.

A photoinduced, phosphoranyl radical-mediated protocol for the direct N-O cleavage of strained cycloketone oximes via a polar/SET crossover process was developed for the first time. This visible-light-driven direct N-O activation mode for oxime offers beneficial features such as streamlined synthetic process and versatile photochemical reactivities. Consequently, the alkenes and α-trifluoromethyl alkenes with varied electronic and structural features acted as competent radical receptors in this protocol, enabling facile accesses to a range of elongated cyano and/or gem-difluoroalkene-bearing compounds.

One-pot ring-opening/ring-closure process of combining methyleneindolinone with 3-aminooxindole has been developed in this work. A visible-light-induced difluoroalkylation of N,N'-cyclicazomethine imine was successfully realized through a novel photoredox radical-radical cross-coupling reaction. This developed protocol exhibits high functional group tolerance and affords a variety of difluorinated 3-pyrazolidinone scaffolds. Extensive mechanistic investigations have been undertaken, well revealing the involvement of a reductive radical-radical coupling pathway.

A novel palladium-catalysed ring-opening [3 + 2]-annulation of spirovinylcyclopropyl oxindole with α,β-unsaturated nitroalkenes is reported. A series of spirooxindole derivatives were synthesized in high yields and good to excellent diastereoselectivities. This developed protocol offers a new and efficient pathway for the assembly of spirooxindoles.

An l-pyroglutamic acid-derived bifunctional organocatalyst was designed and applied in an organocatalytic asymmetric direct aldol reaction between isatins and cyclohexanone, in which an erosion of enantiomeric excess of aldol adduct was unexpectedly observed. Through closely monitoring the reaction and performing extensive control experiments, it was determined that the erosion of ee was attributed to a rare stereospecific retro-aldol process. Moreover, effective manipulation of the retro-aldol process by tuning the use of starting materials was ultimately accomplished, leading to evidently upgraded enantioselectivity and functional group tolerance. This study demonstrates the impact of the hidden reaction pathway on the enantioselectivity in asymmetric transformation.

A facile and enantioselective access to a functionalized octahydroacridine scaffold was developed via an organocatalytic domino sequence between cyclohexenone and 2- N-substituted benzaldehyde. High levels of yields (up to 99%) and enantioselectivities (up to 99:1 er) were readily achieved in this developed organocatalytic transformation, which holds promising applications in the construction of complex multicyclic systems for further pharmacological studies.

An efficient and diastereoselective decarboxylative oxa-1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between 3-oxindoles and diverse amino acids is developed to access novel oxazolidine-dispirooxindole skeletons bearing vicinal quaternary carbon centers. This protocol features operational simplicity, a broad substrate scope, and good to excellent chemical yields and diastereoselectivities. In particular, minimal solvent (1 mL/10 mmol) and chromatography-free purification render this synthetic process more efficient and environmentally benign in the context of green chemistry.

A facile and diversified synthesis of functionalized CF 2 -containing benzoxepine derivatives via photoredox catalysis was achieved in this work. This novel protocol features broad substrate scope, mild reaction conditions, operational simplicity, easy scale-up, and versatile derivatization, which would facilitate its practical and broad applications in the construction of valuable and synthetically challenging heterocycles.

A facile visible-light photocatalytic conjugate addition to prepare 1,4-dicarbonyl compounds has been developed by employing readily available aroyl chlorides as aryl radical sources. This operationally simple method shows a broad scope with regard to both aroyl chlorides and Michael acceptors. With the aid of in situ protection by N-(2-formylphenyl)-4-methyl-benzenesulfonamide, enantioselective allylic alkylation of Morita-Baylis-Hillman carbonates with diethyl 2-aminomalonate was successfully realized. The corresponding adducts can be obtained in up to 99% yield with up to 98% ee as well as excellent regioselectivity. Besides, the adducts with opposite configurations were readily prepared by utilizing easily available and inexpensive quinine or quinidine as organocatalyst. Facile deprotection of the resulting adduct provides straightforward access to enantiopure α-methylene-γ-lactam.

A diversity-driven three-component 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of isatins, amino acids and isatin-derived ketimines was developed to facilely assemble dispirooxindole-imidazolidine skeletons bearing vicinal quaternary carbon centers. This protocol features additive-free, minimal solvent usage (0.1 mL DMSO/0.2 mmol scale), wide substrate scope (34 examples), mild reaction conditions (room temperature) and high chemical yield (up to 99%).

A practical and straightforward synthetic route through a Selectfluor-triggered tandem cyclization of o-hydroxyarylenaminone was developed to construct a variety of difluorinated 2-amino-substituted chromanones. This novel protocol features mild reaction conditions, operational simplicity, and broad substrate scope. The enamine moiety in o-hydroxyarylenaminone played dual roles to enable high efficiency in the difluorination and intramolecular cyclization, leading to the accomplishment of a new class of difluorinated 2-amino-substituted chromanones for pharmaceutical studies.

Reductive dimerization of isatin and its derivatives can be regarded as a step-economical pathway to construct 3,3'-disubstituted bisoxindoles, which was unfortunately accompanied by severe direct reduction as well as low efficiency. A visible-light driven, photoredox-catalytic protocol was developed to readily furnish 3,3'-dihydroxy- (dl-, > 20:1 dr) and 3,3'-diamino-bisoxindoles (meso-, 3.5:1 to 5:1 dr) in moderate to good yields, successfully circumventing the common problem. Two vicinal quaternary carbon centers were effectively assembled under the irradiation of visible light.

An intramolecular [3 + 2]-annulation of amide-linked donor-acceptor cyclopropane with in situ-generated imine is described. As a result, diverse hexahydropyrrolo[3,2-c]quinolinones, as the tricyclic core of martinellines, were efficiently assembled in good to excellent yield (up to 93%) with a good diastereomeric ratio (up to 98:2).

The highly diastereoselective intramolecular [3+2] annulation via the ring-opening of a cyclopropane diester derivative has been developed to construct a dihydroquinolinone scaffold. A series of tricyclic dihydroquinolinones bearing one or two all-carbon quaternary stereogenic centers were obtained in good yields and excellent diastereoselectivities (up to 20 : 1 dr). Moreover, the amide-linking mode shows obviously beneficial effects on the ring-opening of cyclopropane.

A series of novel 2,3- or 2,5-dispirooxindole-piperazine ring systems were efficiently constructed through the acid-promoted self-1,3-dipolar [3+3] cyclizations of azomethine ylides derived from isatin with various primary or cyclic secondary amines. Interestingly, the regioselectivity of this self-[3+3] cyclization could be effectively tuned by varying the structural features of substrates. The unprecedented 2,5-dispirooxindole-piperazine skeleton was achieved in good diastereoselectivity by employing 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline, while using pyrrolidine or glycine methyl ester furnished the 2,3-dispirooxindole-piperazine scaffold in excellent diastereoselectivity (only a single isomer formed).

Since the increase of prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T-2DM), the replacing quickly absorbed carbohydrates with a fat source rich in monounsaturated fatty acid to provide improved glycemic control in these patients has become an important assistant therapy. In the present study, we compared glycemic response and safety of two nutritional products, Glucerna and Fresubin, in Chinese subjects with T-2DM. Overall, 203 T-2DM subjects were randomly assigned (1:1) to either Glucerna or Fresubin. The primary endpoint was the adjusted area under the curve (adj-AUC) for plasma glucose at 0-240 min. Blood samples were collected at 0, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, and 240 min to compare the adjusted area under the curve (AUC) for the change in plasma glucose or insulin from 0 to 240 min. Adjusted peak values and times of glucose and insulin responses and adjusted glucose and insulin values were collected at the same time points. Safety parameters were also evaluated. The adjusted AUC for the change in plasma glucose in the Glucerna group was significantly lower than in Fresubin group (5.60 +/- 5.88 mmol/l*h vs. 7.97 +/- 6.32 mmol/l*h, P = 0.0061), as was the adjusted peak value of glucose (3.51 +/- 2.04 mmol/l vs. 4.69 +/- 1.99 mmol/l, P < 0.0001). Glucerna subjects had a longer adjusted peak time to insulin response compared to Fresubin subjects (105.00 +/- 43.4 min vs. 88.81 +/- 37.69 min, P = 0.0050). Glucerna subjects also experienced more gradual changes in glucose and insulin values. In conclusion, Glucerna provided better control of postprandial plasma glucose and insulin levels in Chinese subjects with T-2DM. Variation of postprandial glucose tended to be relatively stable after patients took Glucerna. Study results suggest that Glucerna may be beneficial in the reduction of postprandial glycemia.

Objective: To investigate the effects of Tongluo Recipe (TLR), a compound Chinese herbal medicine, on experimental diabetic peripheral neuropathy in rats., Methods: Diabetes was induced by streptozocin in rats. Eight weeks later, the diabetic rats were assigned to 3 groups according to different body weights: untreated group, low-dose TLR-treated group and high-dose TLR-treated group. Eight normal rats were assigned to normal control group. Systemic and sciatic nerve intrinsic antioxidant enzyme activities, lipid peroxide levels, hemorheology and sciatic nerve conduction velocity and ultrastructure changes were evaluated., Results: Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities were lower, and lipid peroxide levels were higher in plasma and sciatic nerve of the untreated group than those in the normal control group (P<0.05). Blood glucose and viscosity in the untreated group were higher than those in the normal control group. Sciatic nerve showed demyelination changes and decrease of conduction velocity. Vasa nervorum expanded and erythrocyte deposited in the capillary in the untreated group. TLR obviously improved sciatic nerve conduction velocity and ameliorated morphology changes, decreased blood viscosity, improved SOD and GSH-Px activities., Conclusion: TLR can obviously improve sciatic nerve function and ameliorate morphology changes in rats with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, probably through depleting free radical production, improving endothelial cell function and ameliorating hemorheology changes.
