Abstract Background Overconsumption of retinoic acid (RA) or its analogues/derivatives has been linked to severe craniomaxillofacial malformations, such as cleft palate and midface hypoplasia. It has been noted that RA disturbed the proliferation and migration of embryonic palatal mesenchymal (EPM) cells in these malformations, yet the exact mechanisms underlying these disruptions remained unclear. Methods A model of retinoic acid (RA)-induced cleft palate in fetal mice was successfully established. Histological alterations in the palate were evaluated using Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining and RNA in situ hybridization (RNAscope). Cellular proliferation levels were quantified via the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assay and EdU incorporation assay, while cell migration capabilities were investigated using wound healing and Transwell assays. Mitochondrial functions were assessed through Mito-Tracker fluorescence, mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) measurement, ATP level quantification, and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) copy number analysis. Differential gene expression and associated signaling pathways were identified through bioinformatics analysis. Alterations in the transcriptional and translational levels of Lhx6 and genes associated with mitophagy were quantified using quantitative PCR (qPCR) and Western blot analysis, respectively. Mitochondrial morphology and the mitochondrial autophagosomes within cells were examined through transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Results Abnormal palatal development in mice, along with impaired proliferation and migration of human embryonic palatal mesenchymal (HEPM) cells, was associated with RA affecting mitochondrial function and concomitant downregulation of Lhx6. Knockdown of Lhx6 in HEPM cells resulted in altered cell proliferation, migration, and mitochondrial function. Conversely, the aberrant mitochondrial function, proliferation, and migration observed in RA-induced HEPM cells were ameliorated by overexpression of Lhx6. Subsequent research demonstrated that Lhx6 ameliorated RA-induced dysfunction in HEPM cells by modulating PINK1/Parkin-mediated mitophagy, thereby activating the MAPK signaling pathways. Conclusion Lhx6 is essential for mitochondrial homeostasis via tuning PINK1/Parkin-mediated mitophagy and MAPK signaling pathways. Downregulation of Lhx6 by RA transcriptionally disturbs the mitochondrial homeostasis, which in turn leads to the proliferation and migration defect in HEPM cells, ultimately causing the cleft palate. Abstract Objective To assess the rate at which sutureless partial nephrectomy (SLPN) transitions to standard partial nephrectomy (SPN), focusing on preoperative factors that might prompt such conversions. Patients and methods In this retrospective study, we analyzed the efficacy of SLPN performed on adults at our institution from 2016 to 2023. The subjects were patients diagnosed with localized solid renal tumors. The primary technique employed was resection with scissors and argon beam coagulation for hemostasis, with suturing techniques used only when necessary. Predictive factors necessitating conversion to SPN were identified, and the associations among multiple variables were explored using various statistical analysis methods, including logistic regression, to identify key preoperative predictive factors. Results Our institution performed 353 SLPN, with 21 cases (5.9%) necessitating conversion to SPN. The conversion rates for the Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy (LPN) subgroup and the Robotic-assist Partial Nephrectomy (RPN) subgroup were 7.9% (17/215) and 2.9% (4/138), respectively, nearing statistical significance (P = .066). Significant differences were observed between the conversion group and the no conversion group in terms of preoperative estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR), age at surgery, tumor size, and exophytic/endophytic characteristics. Multivariate analysis identified age at surgery, preoperative eGFR, radiological tumor size, and tumor exophytic/endophytic nature as significant predictors for conversion to SPN. Conclusion This investigation highlights the efficacy and feasibility of SLPN while identifying critical factors influencing the necessity for conversion to SPN. The identified predictors, including younger surgical age, superior preoperative eGFR, and specific tumor characteristics, provide valuable insights for refining surgical strategies.

Abstract Background Small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a leading cause of cancer-related death. However, the prognostic value of the tumor shrinkage rate (TSR) after chemotherapy for SCLC is still unknown. Methods We performed a retrospective analysis of 235 patients with SCLC. The TSR cutoff was determined based on receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis. The associations of TSR with progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were assessed using univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards models. Survival curves were obtained by the Kaplan–Meier method and compared using the log-rank test. Recurrence patterns after first-line treatment were summarized in a pie chart. A nomogram was constructed to validate the predictive role of the TSR in SCLC. Results The TSR cutoff was identified to be − 6.6%. Median PFS and OS were longer in the group with a TSR − 6.6%. The drugs extending healthspan in clinic have always been searched. Nitazoxanide is an FDA-approved clinical antiprotozoal drug. Nitazoxanide is rapidly metabolized to tizoxanide after absorption in vivo. Our previous studies find that nitazoxanide and its metabolite tizoxanide induce mild mitochondrial uncoupling and activate cellular AMPK, oral nitazoxanide protects against experimental hyperlipidemia, hepatic steatosis, and atherosclerosis. Here, we demonstrate that both nitazoxanide and tizoxanide extend the lifespan and healthspan of Caenorhabditis elegans through Akt/AMPK/sir 2.1/daf16 pathway. Additionally, both nitazoxanide and tizoxanide improve high glucose-induced shortening of C. elegans lifespan. Nitazoxanide has been a clinical drug with a good safety profile, we suggest that it is a novel anti-aging drug.

Aiming at the problems of complex and diversified communication networks in various emergency rescue scenarios and the independence of the command and communication systems of ordinary dispatch consoles, a SIP-based emergency communication console is proposed, which not only describes in detail the composition of the hardware modules of the console, but also elaborates on the application of SIP soft switching technology in the program. The console supports access to digital and analog communication networks to realize voice communication and multimedia video communication through wired and wireless broad band communication. Based on SIP soft switch technology, the concept of fully converged communication is proposed for the emergency communication needs under different emergency rescue scenarios to complete the unified command and dispatching, which provides a reference for the development direction of the emergency communication console.

Given the challenge of definitively discriminating between chemical and nuclear explosions using seismic methods alone, surface detection of signature noble gas radioisotopes is considered a positive identification of underground nuclear explosions (UNEs). However, the migration of signature radionuclide gases between the nuclear cavity and surface is not well understood because complex processes are involved, including the generation of complex fracture networks, reactivation of natural fractures and faults, and thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical (THMC) coupling of radionuclide gas transport in the subsurface. In this study, we provide an experimental investigation of hydro-mechanical (HM) coupling among gas flow, stress states, rock deformation, and rock damage using a unique multi-physics triaxial direct shear rock testing system. The testing system also features redundant gas pressure and flow rate measurements, well suited for parameter uncertainty quantification. Using porous tuff and tight granite samples that are relevant to historic UNE tests, we measured the Biot effective stress coefficient, rock matrix gas permeability, and fracture gas permeability at a range of pore pressure and stress conditions. The Biot effective stress coefficient varies from 0.69 to 1 for the tuff, whose porosity averages 35.3% ± 0.7%, while this coefficient varies from 0.51 to 0.78 for the tight granite (porosity

Debonding at the cement-casing interface is recognized as a principal failure mechanism leading to CO2 leakage in wells. This detachment gives rise to a microannulus, which notably possesses greater permeability than undamaged cement, undermining its sealing efficacy. Conventionally, the permeability of the microannulus is regarded as a uniform value throughout the well. However, fundamentally, a microannulus is one type of fracture, and its gap or aperture size is affected by the effective stress. In this work, we developed a unique experimental apparatus. This equipment facilitates the curing of cement inside a steel casing, the formation of a microannulus between the casing and the cement, and the investigation of the fluid flow dynamics along the microannulus under laboratory-replicated in situ conditions. The microannulus was formed by injecting fluid from one end of the setup, and receiving similar amount of fluid on the other end signified the development of the leakage channel. Additionally, strain gauges affixed to the casing’s external surface yielded key information on the microannulus’s opening and closure. We observed a noticeable decline in microannulus hydraulic aperture (or permeability) in relation to effective stress and an exponential equation fits their relationship. Our findings also indicate a distinct behavior when comparing liquid CO2 with water. Specifically, it is easier for liquid CO2 to create the microannulus. However, the hydraulic aperture range for this microannulus (0.7–6 μm) is considerably smaller than that created by water flow (2–17 μm). Finally, we integrated the stress-dependent microannulus aperture size into the combined analysis of well mechanical integrity and well leakage. The outcomes consistently demonstrated that when factoring in the stress-dependent aperture sizes, the leakage rates are 3–5 times compared to a fixed aperture model. The traditional assumption of a constant aperture significantly underestimates fluid leakage risks.

In order to realize the underground portable real-time monitoring of the vital signs of personnel and timely arrange rescue, a mine intrinsically safe watch was designed. Take NRF52840 low energy bluetooth chip as the control core, using GH3020 health monitoring IC + MPU6050 acceleration sensor + NST112x temperature sensor as the acquisition unit, combined with the power circuit design, to achieve vital signs data acquisition, BLE/Wi-Fi combined with high-precision RSSI technology to realize the rapid detection of device location signals. The Cortex-M4F core is used to provide efficient data calculation, compression, storage and remote transmission of data. The watch has the characteristics of high integration, good stability, high precision and low power consumption, and supports TCP/IP, ANT, Thread wireless communication and other protocols. After testing, the data acquisition accuracy, power consumption, sustainable working time and other indicators of the equipment have reached the productization standard, and are displayed on the PC in real time, to provide important protection for the life and health of miners.

Abstract Background Schizophrenia (SCZ) is a profound mental disorder with a multifactorial etiology, including genetics, environmental factors, and demographic influences such as ethnicity and geography. Among these, the studies of SCZ also shows racial and regional differences. Methods We first established a database of biological samples for SCZ in China’s ethnic minorities, followed by a serum metabolomic analysis of SCZ patients from various ethnic groups within the same region using the LC-HRMS platform. Results Analysis identified 47 metabolites associated with SCZ, with 46 showing significant differences between Miao and Han SCZ patients. These metabolites, primarily fatty acids, amino acids, benzene, and derivatives, are involved in fatty acid metabolism pathways. Notably, L-Carnitine, L-Cystine, Aspartylphenylalanine, and Methionine sulfoxide demonstrated greater diagnostic efficacy in Miao SCZ patients compared to Han SCZ patients. Conclusion Preliminary findings suggest that there are differences in metabolic levels among SCZ patients of different ethnicities in the same region, offering insights for developing objective diagnostic or therapeutic monitoring strategies that incorporate ethnic considerations of SCZ.

Abstract Taking the return-airway 4204 with roof cutting in Longquan Coal Mine as the engineering background, roof structure, key parameters, and deviatoric stress evolution were studied. Conclusion: The Key Stratum within a 4–8 times mining height is considered as Near Key Stratum. Cutting the roof makes it possible to form a cantilever structure of the Key Stratum on the solid coal side, which is more conducive to the stability of gob-side roadway. During cutting angle of 90–55°, the deviatoric stress increases linearly, and the increase rate is coal pillar > solid coal > roof > floor. While cutting length from 0 to 35 m, the deviatoric stress decreases linearly, and the decreasing range: coal pillar > solid coal > roof > floor. When coal pillar width is from 30 to 4 m, the deviatoric stress of left side and floor presents a “single peak” distribution. The deviatoric stress of coal pillar changes from an asymmetric “double peak” to a bell-shaped distribution, and the deviatoric stress of roof changes from a “single peak” to an asymmetric “double peak” distribution. Under same coal pillar width, the deviatoric stress of left, coal pillar and roof after roof cutting decreases most obviously, followed by the floor. Finally, the coal pillar width is 8 m, the cutting angle is 75°, the cutting length is 20 m, and the hole spacing is 1.0 m. The support scheme is bolt + metal mesh + steel belt + anchor cable combined support. The stable period of roadway is about 10 days.

Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium ‘Chachi’ (Citrus reticulata ‘Chachi’) is a traditional Chinese medicine with dual medicinal and dietary uses. As its main component, pectin exhibited various biological activities. However, research and development on it, especially pectin oligosaccharides, remain limited. In this study, ‘Chachi’ pectin oligosaccharides (CPOS) was extracted and prepared for the first time, resulting in the purification of two oligosaccharide components, CPOS3 and CPOS4. Structural characterization of the predominant oligosaccharide, CPOS3, revealed it to be composed of a backbone α-D-GalpA-(1→2)-α-L-Rhap-(1→4)-α-D-3-OAc-GalpA-(1→4)-α-D-GalpA-(1→4)-α-D-GalpA and a side chain [→5)-α-L-Araf-(1→]4 attached at the C-4 of Rhap. Subsequent experiments have shown that CPOS3 can significantly promote the proliferation and migration of human immortalized keratinocyte cell. Further investigation revealed that it facilitated cell proliferation by stimulating DNA synthesis in the S phase of the cell cycle. Additionally, CPOS3 exhibited good thermal stability and rheological characteristics. Based on the good wound healing activity and favorable physicochemical properties of CPOS3, its prospects in the fields of wound dressings and tissue repair are promising.

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), a significant pathogen affecting the swine industry globally, has been shown to manipulate host cell processes, including autophagy, to facilitate its replication and survival within the host. Autophagy, an intracellular degradation process crucial for maintaining cellular homeostasis, can be hijacked by viruses for their own benefit. During PRRSV infection, autophagy plays a complex role, both as a defense mechanism of the host and as a tool exploited by the virus. This review explores the current understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying autophagy induction under PRRSV infection, its impact on virus replication, and the potential implications for viral pathogenesis and antiviral strategies. By synthesizing the latest research findings, this article aims to enhance our understanding of the intricate relationship between autophagy and PRRSV, paving the way for novel therapeutic approaches against this swine pathogen.

This study was designed to reveal the relationship among browning, polyphenol degradation, Maillard reaction (MR) and flavor variation in jujube fruit (JF) during air-impingement jet drying (AIJD). Five kinds of JFs were dried by AIJD at 60 °C and vacuum freeze drying. Colorimeter and chemometric analysis found that AIJD induced color changes of JF pulp and peel. AIJD also reduced the total polyphenols content and total flavonoids levels in JF. The Fe3+ reducing capacity and 2,2′-Azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonate) cationic radical scavenging capacity of JF were reduced by 31.6% and 8.2%, respectively. Seven polyphenols were identified in JF, and epicatechin was found related to change of JF pulp color by sparse partial least square (sPLS). sPLS revealed that 3-deoxy glucosone, N-ε-carboxymethyl-l-lysine and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural associated with JF color. sPLS found that MR generated 3-methyl-butanoic acid and cyclobutanone during AIJD of JF. Chemometrics is an effective tool to disclose mechanism of color changes in food.

Aiming at the problem that the underground communication link of the mine is interrupted and the information of rescuers cannot be exchanged after the disaster, a mine intrinsically safe AD hoc network base station is designed. Based on the SDR platform, the equipment adopts the scheme of FPGA + ADI AD9361+ intrinsic safety circuit, and uses wireless multi-hop, self-organization and strong self-healing ability of wireless mesh network technology to quickly and conveniently form a wireless communication network in the environment of underground power supply and communication system being destroyed, and at the same time, provides wireless coverage for terminal equipment such as handheld terminals, mine control balls, mine information recorders, etc., to realize information exchange between the accident scene and the forward command. The test results show that the base station has the advantages of self-provided power supply, high safety factor, small size, light weight, small power consumption, etc., 2.4 GHz and 1.4 GHz dual-band wireless networking, multi-hop capability of 6-8 hops of video, single-hop transmission distance greater than 200 meters, single-hop transmission delay of less than 7 ms, power consumption of less than 15 W, and continuous work for 4.5 h, which can solve the communication problems encountered in the emergency rescue process of various accidents and disasters in mines.

Radar echo image sequence prediction is a spatial-temporal forecasting problem, which is one of the main challenges in precipitation nowcasting. In response to issues such as poor extraction of spatiotemporal features and blurred prediction of image sequence in previous models, this paper proposes a spatial-temporal dual discriminator precipitation nowcasting method using SNGAN with InceptionGRU (STD-SNGAN-InceptionGRU). The design of temporal and spatial dual discriminators constrains the generator’s prediction samples, effectively enhancing the spatiotemporal prediction capability of the generator through adversarial training. The generator utilizes multiscale convolution (Inception) and multiscale gate recurrent unit (InceptionGRU) to enhance its ability to extract spatiotemporal features, thereby improving its learning capability for the evolution of radar echo sequences. The comparative experimental results demonstrate that the proposed STD-SNGAN-InceptionGRU model outperforms other algorithms in terms of critical success index (CSI) and probability of detection (POD) at different echo intensities, especially in areas with long time series and high echo intensity. Furthermore, through ablation experiments, this paper proves that the temporal discriminator, spatial discriminator, and InceptionGRU all effectively improve the model’s prediction capability for radar echo images.

The continuous integration of distributed power into the distribution network has increased the complexity of the distribution network and created challenges in distribution-network reconfiguration. In order to make the distribution network operate in the optimal mode, this paper establishes a multi-objective reconfiguration-optimization model that takes into account active network loss, voltage offset, number of switching actions and distributed power output. For a distribution network with a distributed power supply, it is easy for the traditional binary particle swarm optimization algorithm to fall into a local optimum. In order to improve the convergence speed of the algorithm and avoid premature convergence, this paper adopts an improved binary particle swarm optimization algorithm to solve the problem. The IEEE33 node system is used as an example for simulation verification. The experimental results show that the algorithm improves the convergence speed and global search ability, effectively reduces the system network loss, and greatly improves the voltage level of each node. It improves the stability and economy of distribution-network operation and can effectively solve the problem of multi-objective reconfiguration.

Determining suitable irrigation technology is of paramount for promoting water-saving agriculture, particularly for winter wheat-summer maize rotation system in well-irrigated regions. To optimize and assess the efficacy of various irrigation technologies (specifically, semi-fixed sprinkler irrigation, walking sprinkler, semi-automatic buried telescopic sprinkler irrigation, thin-soft spray tape irrigation, drip irrigation, self-driven winch sprinkler and manually moving spray gun irrigation, marked as A, B, C, D, E, F and G) applied in south central North China Plain, we first conducted an economic analysis for the winter wheat-summer maize rotation. Subsequently, employing a comprehensive set of 20 indicators spanning economic, societal, technological, ecological, and resource aspects, we employed a TOPSIS model with integrative weighting approach using “AHP + Entropy”. We also employed principal component analysis and the Sankey diagram method to explore characteristics of different irrigation techniques and indexes. Irrigation mode E, conserving energy by 63.19% compared to mode B and offering labor savings five times greater than the mode D. The highest economic benefit for the rotation system was observed with the mode C, resulting in a 25.26% increase compared to the mode G. The top three irrigation modes based on scores were D, G, and E, with scores of 0.532, 0.490, and 0.474, respectively. The Sankey diagram revealed distinct preferences among different agricultural entities for specific irrigation modes. For specific stakeholders, we recommend irrigation modes D, G, F, and B for small farmers, large and specialized family businesses, family farms, and farmer cooperatives, respectively. In conclusion, our findings provide valuable scientific support and recommendations for the practical application of irrigation technology in agricultural production.

Abstract Identifying the primary site of metastatic cancer is critical to guiding the subsequent treatment. Approximately 3–9% of metastatic patients are diagnosed with cancer of unknown primary sites (CUP) even after a comprehensive diagnostic workup. However, a widely accepted molecular test is still not available. Here, we report a method that applies formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues to construct reduced representation bisulfite sequencing libraries (FFPE-RRBS). We then generate and systematically evaluate 28 molecular classifiers, built on four DNA methylation scoring methods and seven machine learning approaches, using the RRBS library dataset of 498 fresh-frozen tumor tissues from primary cancer patients. Among these classifiers, the beta value-based linear support vector (BELIVE) performs the best, achieving overall accuracies of 81-93% for identifying the primary sites in 215 metastatic patients using top-k predictions (k = 1, 2, 3). Coincidentally, BELIVE also successfully predicts the tissue of origin in 81-93% of CUP patients (n = 68).

Chlorophyll content is an important physiological indicator reflecting the growth status of crops. Traditional methods for obtaining crop chlorophyll content are time-consuming and labor-intensive. The rapid development of UAV remote sensing platforms offers new possibilities for monitoring chlorophyll content in field crops. To improve the efficiency and accuracy of monitoring chlorophyll content in maize canopies, this study collected RGB, multispectral (MS), and SPAD data from maize canopies at the jointing, tasseling, and grouting stages, constructing a dataset with fused features. We developed maize canopy chlorophyll content monitoring models based on four machine learning algorithms: BP neural network (BP), multilayer perceptron (MLP), support vector regression (SVR), and gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT). The results showed that, compared to single-feature methods, the MS and RGB fused feature method achieved higher monitoring accuracy, with R² values ranging from 0.808 to 0.896, RMSE values between 2.699 and 3.092, and NRMSE values between 10.36% and 12.26%. The SVR model combined with MS–RGB fused feature data outperformed the BP, MLP, and GBDT models in monitoring maize canopy chlorophyll content, achieving an R² of 0.896, an RMSE of 2.746, and an NRMSE of 10.36%. In summary, this study demonstrates that by using the MS–RGB fused feature method and the SVR model, the accuracy of chlorophyll content monitoring can be effectively improved. This approach reduces the need for traditional methods of measuring chlorophyll content in maize canopies and facilitates real-time management of maize crop nutrition.

In this study, a tunnel model with a length of 20 m, a width of 5 m, and a height of 5 m was used, and an experimental investigation was conducted to examine the impact of high-pressure water mist on the temperature distribution along the tunnel ceiling. Specifically, different experimental settings, such as various nozzle pressures, nozzle positions, and longitudinal ventilation speeds, in the high-pressure water mist system were employed to investigate the smoke-spreading process of tunnel fire under different conditions, and an effective method utilizing a high-pressure water mist system was proposed for blocking smoke and heat. The experimental results reveal that the high-pressure water mist system can be used to effectively improve the ceiling temperature during tunnel fires; when the nozzle pressure is set as 10 MPa, and the nozzle position is located at x7, the highest thermal insulation efficiency in the tunnel is obtained. Additionally, the joint application of the high-pressure water mist system and the mechanical smoke exhaust effectively mitigates the ambient temperature within the tunnel, thereby playing a pivotal role in enhancing the fire safety of the tunnel.

Honey bees are crucial for ecosystem pollination and honey production, yet the Varroa destructor mite hinders their productivity and health. Efforts to manage Varroa mites with synthetic pesticides have had limited success, highlighting the need for naturally derived acaricides as a primary option. However, the acaricidal efficacy of essential oils from Salvia officinalis L. (sage), Cannabis sativa (hemp), and Laurus nobilis (laurel) remains to be fully understood. This study aims to investigate the acaricidal efficacy of these three essential oils at varying concentrations and their impact on honey production, focusing on the efficient reduction in Varroa mites. The sugar roll method was employed to assess Varroa mite infestation levels, while GC-MS analysis was utilized to verify the composition of the essential oils. Honey production measurements were also performed. The efficacy rates (%) at concentrations of 15%, 10%, and 5% for hemp oil were 95.4% ± 0.30%, 85.71% ± 0.85%, and 64.48% ± 0.26%, respectively; for sage oil, they were 81.08% ± 0.57%, 69.42% ± 1.72%, and 50.35% ± 0.70%; and for laurel oil, they were 68.96% ± 0.34%, 54.66% ± 0.37%, and 33.58% ± 0.30%, respectively. Key compounds identified include trans-caryophyllene, α-pinene, and viridiflorol in hemp oil; myrcene, limonene, and β-caryophyllene in sage oil; and phytol, β-myrcene, and n-heneicosane in laurel oil. The overall findings indicate that hemp oil is highly effective in controlling Varroa mites. However, further research is needed to evaluate its potential side effects on bees to ensure its sustainability and safety.

The clinical treatments of bone defects remain a challenge. Hydrogels containing bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) are extensively used to bone regeneration because of excellent biocompatibility and hydrophilicity. However, the insufficient osteo-induction capacity of the BMSC-loaded hydrogels limits their clinical applications. In this study, bio-active glass (BG) and BMSCs were combined with gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) to fabricate composite hydrogels via photo-crosslinking, and the regulation of bone regeneration was investigated. In vitro experiments showed that the BG/BMSCs@GelMA hydrogel had excellent cytocompatibility and promoted osteogenic differentiation in BMSCs. Furthermore, the BG/BMSCs@GelMA hydrogel was injected into critical-sized calvarial defects, and the results further confirmed its excellent angiogenetic and bone regeneration capacity. In addition, BG/BMSCs@GelMA promoted the polarization of macrophages towards the M2 phenotype. In summary, this novel composite hydrogel demonstrated remarkable potential for application in bone regeneration due to its immunomodulatory, excellent angiogenetic as well as osteo-induction capacity.

In this study, the physiochemical characters including moisture content variation, pH, total soluble solids (TSS), color, ascorbic acid content, total polyphenols, and antioxidant activities of mango powder fortified with green tea polyphenols (GTP) were investigated during storage for 90 d. Our results indicated stable colors of mango powder were found after GTP addition. GTP also inhibited the destruction of ascorbic acid during processing, and decreased its degradation rate during the whole storage. The total polyphenols of mango powder stored at 4 ℃ and room temperature decreased by 37.85% and 51.79%, respectively. After addition with GTP, the total polyphenols decreased only by 7.89%, and 13.31%, respectively. The antioxidant activities rose by 1.6 to 4.6-fold after GTP addition, and it decreased at a slower rate compared to that of unfortified mango powder. Correlation analysis indicated that EGCG might be the main substance that retain the physiochemical stability of mango powder.

Idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) is a serious and fatal disease. Recently, m6A has been reported to play an important role in the lungs of IPAH patients and experimental pulmonary hypertension models. However, the meaning of m6A mRNAs in the peripheral blood of IPAH patients remains largely unexplored. We aimed to construct a transcriptome-wide map of m6A mRNAs in the peripheral blood of IPAH patients. M6A RNA Methylation Quantification Kit was utilized to measure the total m6A levels in the peripheral blood of IPAH patients. A combination of MeRIP-seq, RNA-seq and bioinformatics analysis was utilized to select m6A-modified hub genes of IPAH. MeRIP-qPCR and RT-qPCR were used to measure the m6A levels and mRNA levels of TP53, RPS27A, SMAD3 and FoxO3 in IPAH patients. Western blot was performed to assess the protein levels of m6A related regulators and m6A related genes in experimental PH animal models, hypoxia-treated and PDGF-BB induced PASMCs. We found that the total m6A levels were increased in peripheral blood of IPAH patients and verified that m6A levels of RPS27A and SMAD3 were significantly elevated and m6A levels of TP53 and FoxO3 were significantly reduced. The mRNA or protein levels of RPS27A, SMAD3, TP53 and FoxO3 were changed in human blood samples, experimental PH animal models and PDGF-BB induced PASMCs. Moreover, METTL3 and YTHDF1 were increased in the hypoxia induced pulmonary hypertension rat model, hypoxia-treated and PDGF-BB induced PASMCs. These finding suggested that m6A may play an important role in IPAH.

Objective: To explore the efficacy, safety, and feasibility of holmium laser flexible ureteroscopic intrapelvic drainage in the treatment of parapelvic renal cysts. Methods: From September 2012 to February 2019, a total of 18 patients, aged from 28 to 62 (mean±standard deviation [SD]: 46.50±9.14) years, were diagnosed with parapelvic renal cysts and treated by holmium laser flexible ureteroscopic intrapelvic drainage. There were 10 males and eight females. All of the parapelvic renal cysts were unilateral, and two cases were complicated with pyelolithiasis. The diameters of the cysts ranged from 4.1 cm to 8.2 cm. Results: All the patients completed the operation successfully in one stage without conversion to open surgery; in two cases, it was difficult to find the cysts during the operation, and the localization was completed by B-ultrasound and percutaneous injection of methylene blue. The mean operative time was 33.89 (SD: 9.68; range: 22–54) min, and the mean hospitalization time was 2.67 (SD: 0.91; range: 2–5) days. Three months and 6 months of follow-up were performed after surgery. The cysts disappeared in 13 (72%) cases, and the diameter of the cysts in five (28%) cases decreased by more than 50%. Conclusion: Holmium laser flexible ureteroscopic intrapelvic drainage in the treatment of parapelvic renal cysts is simple, safe, and effective, and can be used as the first choice for the treatment of parapelvic renal cysts.

Two unreported heteropolysaccharides, denoted as YCJP–1 and YCJP–2, were isolated from the herbs of Chloranthus japonicus. YCJP–1 was a heteropolysaccharide composed of glucose, galactose, arabinose, mannose, rhamnose, and a minor proportion of uronic acids, with the molecular weight mainly distributed in the 74,475–228,443 Da range. YCJP–2 was mainly composed of glucose, mannose, and galactose, with the molecular weights ranging from 848 to 5810 Da. To further evaluate the anti-gastric cancer effects of C. japonicus, the inhibitory effects of the crude polysaccharide (YCJP) and the purified polysaccharides (YCJP–1 and YCJP–2) were determined using a CCK-8 assay and colon-forming assay on MGC-803 and AGS gastric cancer cell lines. Our results showed that YCJP, YCJP–1, and YCJP–2 possess prominent inhibitory effects on the proliferation of MGC-803 and AGS cells, and the AGS cell was more sensitive to YCJP, YCJP–1, and YCJP–2. Moreover, YCJP–2 demonstrated superior anti-gastric cancer effects compared to YCJP–1. This could potentially be attributed to YCJP–2’s higher glucose content and narrower molecular weight distribution.

Garlic (Allium sativum) is an important economic crop in China. In terms of using remote sensing technology to identify it, there is still room for improvement, and the high-precision classification of garlic has become an important issue. However, to the best of our knowledge, few studies have focused on garlic area mapping. Here, we propose a method for identifying garlic crops using samples and a multi-feature dataset under limited conditions. The results indicate the following: (1) In the land-use classification of the Erhai Lake Basin, the importance ranking of the characteristic bands, from high to low, is as follows: spectral features, vegetation features, texture features, and terrain features. (2) The random forest method based on feature selection demonstrates high accuracy in land-use classification within the Erhai Lake Basin in Yunnan Province. The overall classification accuracy reached 95.79%, with a Kappa coefficient of 0.95. (3) From 1999 to 2023, the expansion of garlic cultivation in the Erhai Lake Basin showed a trend of initially strengthening from north to south, which was followed by weakening. The vertical development of garlic cultivation reached saturation, showing a slow trend toward horizontal expansion between 2005 and 2018. The planting distributions in various townships in the Erhai Lake Basin gradually shifted from relatively uniform distributions to upstream development. This study utilized the Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud computing platform and machine learning algorithms to compensate for the lack of statistical data on garlic cultivation in the Erhai Lake Basin. Moreover, it accurately, rapidly, and efficiently extracted planting information, demonstrating significant potential for practical applications.

Abstract The objective of this work was to establish and validate the dry matter distribution and yield prediction models based on physiological developmental timing, to compare the differences between the dry mass distribution index model and the dry mass distribution coefficient model, for the simulation of ear dry mass and to improve the accuracy of maize growth models for predicting yield. The experiments were conducted in three tropical sites (Longchuan, Mangshi, and Ruili) in the tropical region of Yunnan Province, China. The NRMS of ear dry mass and yield were generally less than 10. The dry mass distribution index method (NRMS = 5.44% and RMSE = 807.22 kg ha-1 for ear dry mass; and NRMS = 7.32% and RMSE = 707.67 kg ha-1 for grain yield) is better than the dry mass distribution coefficient method (NRMS = 7.52% and RMSE = 1115.31 kg ha-1 for ear dry mass; NRMS = 8.6% and RMSE = 830.76 kgha-1 for grain yield) to simulate maize ear dry mass and grain yield. The distribution index model improves the accuracy of the model, which is valuable for future maize production and management in Yunnan.

The anthocyanins from red radish (ARR) rich in polyglycosylated pelargonidin glucosides were used as pigment. However, bioavailability of anthocyanins was considered at low level. This work examined the intensive effects of fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS) on ARR bioavailability. Pelargonidin, cyanidin and pelargonidin-3-glucoside showed higher level in serum of mice fed with FOS together with ARR for 8 weeks than that fed with only ARR. Co-ingestion of FOS and ARR more effectively elevated the hepatic antioxidant activity by increase in total antioxidant capacity and activities of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase when compared with intake of ARR. FOS also markedly increased pelargonidin level in cecum of mice. 16S RNA sequencing found that Bacteroides genus play an important role in FOS elevating bioavailability of ARR. Fecal bacteria transplantation verified the positive effects of FOS on ARR bioavailability. These results suggested that combined ingestion of FOS and ARR is effective strategy for bioactivity of ARR.

ObjectivesWe aimed to investigate the association between right ventricular longitudinal strain measured by two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography (2D-STE) and right heart catheterization data in pediatric patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH).MethodsTwo groups were evaluated, each consisting of 58 patients. Group 1, patients with PH; Group 2, normal matched controls. Data were collected from 58 patients with PH who underwent invasive hemodynamic evaluation. Standard transthoracic echocardiographic assessment was performed in all patients under the same circumstances. All patients underwent 2D-STE, and off-line analysis generated right ventricle longitudinal strain (RVLS) and right ventricular free wall strain (RVFW) and collected echocardiographic conventional parameters of right ventricular function, including the control group. The relationship between invasive characteristics and right ventricular function parameters was analyzed.ResultsIn all, 58 PH patients were included in our study. The mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) and pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) were strongly correlated with right ventricular free wall strain (RVFW) and right ventricular longitudinal strain (RVLS), moderately correlated with the right ventricle myocardial performance index (Tei index), weakly correlated with the transverse diameter of the right ventricle (RV) and the transverse diameter of the right atrium (RA), and moderately negatively correlated with right ventricular fractional area change (RVFAC). In terms of segments of the right ventricular free wall, the basal segment had the highest correlation coefficient with mPAP and PVR (r = 0.413, 0.523, 0.578, r = 0.421, 0.533, 0.575, p 0.05).ConclusionsRight ventricular longitudinal strain is a reliable indicator to evaluate right ventricular function in pediatric patients with PH. It can provide valuable reference information for the clinical judgment of the status and severity of the disease in children.

Heavy rains pose a great threat to the reliable and secure power supply of urban distribution networks. A knowledge-informed data-driven resilience assessment approach is proposed to evaluate urban distribution networks’ abilities to resist heavy rains. Firstly, the rainstorm waterlogging process is simulated to obtain the rainstorm intensity and rainfall process, providing the input for the data-driven model. Then, input variables are grouped guided by expert knowledge, and a dynamic and static data-driven model is constructed to predict the line outages based on historical data. Finally, the Monte Carlo simulation method integrated with the data-driven model is developed to assess the resilience of urban distribution networks and the number of line outages is selected as the evaluation metric. The effectiveness of the proposed method is sufficiently validated by the historical data of an urban distribution network.

Context Sasanquasaponin (SQS) is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine proved to have a wide range of pharmacological functions.Objective The objective of this study is to explore the effect and underlying mechanism of SQS in the treatment of prostate cancer (PC).Materials and methods PC cell lines (22Rv1 and PC-3) were treated with SQS (0, 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 μM) for 12 or 24 h. The viability of cells was evaluated, while the mRNA and protein levels of epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related genes in PC cell lines were measured (Groups: Control, TGF-β1, TNF-α, TGF-β1 + TNF-α, and TGF-β1 + TNF-α + SQS). The migration and invasion abilities of PC cell lines were evaluated (Groups: Control, SQS). Finally, the antitumour effect of SQS (25, 50,100, and 200 mg/kg) in BALB/c nude mice (6 weeks, 18–20 g) was evaluated (Groups: Control, Vehicle, 25, 50,100, and 200 mg/kg SQS). The study duration was 1 month.Results SQS inhibited the viability and the number of colonies of 22Rv1 or PC-3 cells. The IC50 of SQS of 12 and 24 h in these two cells was 3.25, 1.82, 4.76, and 4.70 μM, respectively. SQS inhibited the adhesion, migration, and invasion of PC cells. It also inhibited the expression of EMT-related markers of PC cells. The PI3K/Akt/mTOR and Smad2/3 signalling pathways were activated in the process of EMT, and SQS could significantly reduce the activation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR and Smad2/3 pathways. Finally, SQS inhibited the growth of xenograft tumours in vivo.Conclusions SQS inhibited EMT in PC by regulating the PI3K/Akt/mTOR and Smad pathways.

This study examined the impact of cognitive style congruence between leaders and followers on followers' organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) by integrating the similarity-attraction and signaling theories. We collected dyadic data from 80 leaders and 223 followers in ten manufacturing companies in China. Using polynomial regression analysis and response surface modeling, the study supported the positive influence of cognitive style congruence on followers' OCBs. Specifically, we found that dyads with more intuitive than analytical leader-follower cognitive styles had higher levels of OCBs. However, there were no significant differences in followers' OCBs between dyads consisting of an intuitive leader and an analytic follower versus those consisting of an analytic leader and an intuitive follower under conditions of cognitive style incongruence. Additionally, the study found that interpersonal trust mediated the relationship between leader-follower cognitive style congruence and followers' OCBs, offering valuable insights for promoting OCBs in the workplace.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) targeting programmed cell death 1, programmed cell death ligand 1, and cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen-4 have shown significantly durable clinical benefits and tolerable toxicities and have improved the survival of patients with various types of cancer. Since 2018, the National Medical Products Administration of China has approved 17 ICIs as the standard treatment for certain advanced or metastatic solid tumors. As ICIs represent a broad-spectrum antitumor strategy, the populations eligible for cancer immunotherapy are rapidly expanding. However, the clinical applications of ICIs in cancer patient populations with special issues, a term that refers to complex subgroups of patients with comorbidities, special clinical conditions, or concomitant medications who are routinely excluded from prospective clinical trials of ICIs or are underrepresented in these trials, represent a great real-world challenge. Although the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) has provided recommendations for screening before the use of ICIs in special populations, the recommendations for full-course management remain insufficient. The CSCO Expert Committee on Immunotherapy organized leading medical oncology and multidisciplinary experts to develop a consensus that will serve as an important reference for clinicians to guide the proper application of ICIs in special patient populations. This study aims to examine the effects of various drying methods, namely vacuum freeze drying (VFD), vacuum drying (VD), hot air drying (HAD), sun drying (SD), and air-impingement jet drying (AIJD), on in vitro and in vivo bioaccessibility of red radish anthocyanins. By color parameters, VFD- and AIJD-dried red radish showed redder color to HAD-, SD-, and VD-dried red radish. SEM images of dried red radish showed multiple holes and loose interior structure. Forty-six anthocyanins were identified in red radish. Original, in vitro and in vivo digestive samples from VFD-dried red radish contained more anthocyanins and were more bioaccessibility than fresh and other dried red radishes. In vitro and in vivo research revealed that dried red radish showed weaker and stronger FRAP and ABTS·+ scavenging activities than fresh red radish. Colon content of mice had significantly higher FRAP and ABTS·+ scavenging activities than the stomach, small intestine, and cecum contents.

The growth and development of honeybees are influenced by many factors, one of which is the cell size of the brood comb. Larger worker bees can be obtained by being raised in bigger cells. However, whether cell size has the same effect on drone development is still unknown. Here, using 3D-printed foundations, we observed the development of drones kept in comb cells of different sizes from the late larval stage through eclosion. The results showed that drones in larger cell-size combs had heavier body weights, longer body lengths, and larger head widths, thorax widths, and abdomen widths compared to those in smaller cell-size combs. Furthermore, regardless of developmental stages, the drones’ body weights increased linearly with the comb’s cell size. However, the other morphological changes of drones in different developmental stages were out of proportion to the cell-size changes, resulting in smaller cells with a higher fill factor (thorax width/cell width). Our findings confirm that comb cell size affects the development of honeybees; drones become bigger when raised in large cells.

Ingestion of 30 % fructose water (HF) for eight weeks caused non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in mice and manifested in prominent weight gain, insulin resistance, abnormal lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, and liver damage. Biochemical analysis suggested that treatment with non-starch polysaccharides extracted from Tumorous stem mustard (NSPTSM) at 25–50 mg/kg·bw prevents these symptoms in HF-induced NAFLD. 16S rRNA sequencing revealed that NSPTSM balanced the HF-perturbed colonic microbiota and significantly increased the relative abundance of Akkermansia in mice. Metabonomics results indicated that the hepatic biomarkers were LPE (18:1/0:0) and LPC (16:1/0:0), which were negatively related to cecal 23-nordeoxycholic acid. Transcriptome and western blot analysis suggested that protein kinase B (AKT)/forkhead box protein O-1 (FOXO1)/mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway played an important role in prevention of HF-induced NAFLD by NSPTSM. These findings indicated that NSPTSM protected mice against HF-induced NAFLD and underscored the efficacy of utilizing NSPTSM as a possible prebiotic.

Lichens are poikilohydric organisms and an important part of the ecosystem. They show high desiccation tolerance, but the mechanism of dehydration resistance still needs to be studied. The photosynthesis recovery of the photobiont in rehydrated lichen Cladonia stellaris after 11-year desiccation was investigated by simultaneously monitoring both photosystem I and II (PSI and PSII) activities. The responses of the photochemical efficiency and relative electron transport rate (rETR) of PSI and PSII, and the quantum yield of the cyclic electron flow (CEF) were measured using a Dual-PAM-100 system. PSI recovered rapidly, but PSII hardly recovered in C. stellaris during rehydration. The maximal photochemical efficiency of PSII (Fv/Fm) was generally very low and reached about just 0.4 during the rehydration. These results indicated that PSII had restored little and was largely inactivated during rehydration. The quantum yield of PSI recovered quickly to almost 0.9 within 4 h and remained constant at nearly 1 thereafter. The results showed that the activation of the CEF in the early stages of rehydration helped the rapid recovery of PSI. The quantum yield of the CEF made up a considerable fraction of the quantum yield of PSI during rehydration. A regulated excess energy dissipation mechanism and non-photochemical quenching (NPQ) also recovered. However, the small extent of the recovery of the NPQ was not enough to dissipate the excess energy during rehydration, which may be responsible for the weak activity of PSII during rehydration. The results indicated that both CEF and NPQ were essential during the rehydration of the photobiont in C. stellaris. The methods used in the measurements of chlorophyll a fluorescence and P700+ absorbance changes in this study provided a speedy and simple way to detect the physiological characteristics of the photobionts of lichen during rehydration. This work improves our understanding of the mechanism behind lichen’s desiccation tolerance.

The compaction quality of asphalt surface courses has a significant impact on the overall performance of asphalt pavements, but the dynamic response and compaction degree variations of different asphalt surface courses (top, middle, and bottom surface courses) during vibrational compaction have still received limited research. SmartRock sensors can be utilized to monitor aggregate acceleration in real-time. This study aims to address this gap using SmartRock sensor technology to further understand the compaction mechanisms of different asphalt surface courses from a particle perspective, as well as the relationship between aggregate acceleration and compaction degree. The results indicate that the rolling of steel drums induces a significant alteration of the aggregate acceleration along the roller’s rolling direction, primarily resulting in horizontal shearing in that direction. As distance increases, vibration waves gradually attenuate on both sides of vibrating drums, and surface course thickness and gradation significantly affect acceleration amplitude. There is a linear correlation between triaxial aggregate acceleration and compaction degree, with the vertical correlation being the strongest. Finally, an empirical relationship between triaxial acceleration and pavement compaction degree was established, providing a basis for predicting the asphalt surface course density. These findings enhance our understanding of pavement compaction mechanisms and promote innovation in asphalt pavement compaction and quality control methods.

This work considers the influence of concrete creep on track irregularities and establishes the dynamic motion equation of the train-track-bridge coupling system. The track irregularity is obtained by superposition of the initial geometric irregularity and additional geometric irregularity of the steel rail caused by creep. When high-speed railway trains pass through bridges; the vertical acceleration and vertical displacement of continuous beam bridges are related to the train’s operating speed, and the influence of creep camber is relatively small. At the same time, considering the randomness of track irregularities, the dynamic responses of the train track bridge coupling system under the action of random track irregularities are analyzed, and the dynamic responses of trains at different operating speeds are obtained. The deterministic and uncertain dynamic responses of the train track bridge system were compared and analyzed to verify the accuracy of the Karhunen Loéve expansion (KLE)-Point estimate method (PEM) calculation results. The results indicate that the random characteristics of track irregularities have a significant impact on train dynamic response. Based on the random system vibration analysis and considering the safety and comfort indicators of high-speed railway trains, the creep deformation limit of a continuous beam bridge with a length of 48 m + 80 m + 48 m is obtained to be 19 mm. This is the first time that the dynamic responses of train-symmetry-bridge system are calculated by considering concrete creep and the creep-induced track irregularity, which has certain significance for understanding the dynamics of train -bridge system. In addition, the proposed creep threshold is also of great significance to ensure the safety of traveling.

Advanced composite materials have excellent performance and broad engineering application prospects, and have received widespread attention in recent years. Advanced composite materials can mainly be divided into fiber-reinforced composite materials, laminated composite materials, matrix composite materials, and other composite materials. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the types and characteristics of advanced composite materials, and provides a comprehensive evaluation of the latest research on structural strengthening and resilience improvement in advanced composite materials from the perspectives of new methods, modeling optimization, and practical applications. In the field of fiber-reinforced composite materials, the hybrid technology of carbon fiber and glass fiber can achieve dual advantages in combining the two materials. The maximum increase in mechanical properties of multilayer sandwich RH plate by hybrid technology is 435.4% (tensile strength), 149.2% (flexural strength), and 110.7~114.2% (shear strength), respectively. In the field of laminated composite materials, different mechanical properties of laminated composite materials can be obtained by changing the deposition sequence. In the field of matrix composites, nano copper oxide particles prepared by nanotechnology can increase the hardness and tensile strength of the metal matrix material by 77% and 78%, respectively. In the field of other composite materials, viscoelastic materials and magnetorheological variants have received widespread attention. The development of composite materials benefits from the promotion of new methods and technologies, but there are still problems such as complex preparation, high cost, and unstable performance. Considering the characteristics, application requirements, cost, complexity, and performance of different types of composite materials, further improvements and innovations are needed in modeling and optimization to better meet practical engineering needs, such as the application of advanced composite materials in civil engineering, ships, automobiles, batteries, and other fields.

Heterogeneous quay cranes (HQCs) are the main energy-consuming equipment of automated container terminals, and they need to move from one bay to another along the rail and maintain a safe distance from one another. Improving the operational efficiency of HQCs and reducing the ineffective walking distance of HQCs are key to reducing the energy consumption of QCs. In this paper, an energy-efficient HQC cooperative scheduling problem is studied, and the HQCs are required to ensure safe and efficient operation. A multi-objective scheduling model is formulated to minimize the maximum completion time of containers, the average completion time of HQCs, and the total energy consumption of HQCs simultaneously. An Enhanced Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm (EMOEA) is designed to solve this problem using a problem-feature-based encoding method to encode and initialize the population, a cooperative strategy to ensure the safe operating distance of HQCs, and a novel multi-objective evaluation mechanism with effective evolutionary operators. The results indicate that the different operational capacities of HQCs had a significant impact on the three studied objectives, especially for some large-scale problems, and that our algorithm outperforms three other well-known multi-objective algorithms in solving the EHQCCSP.

Abstract In order to solve the problem that the inertia estimation method based on the rate of change of frequency (RoCoF) is only applicable to the centre of inertia (COI) frequency, a novel inertia estimation method is proposed based on the maximum frequency deviation. This method utilizes the property that the maximum frequency deviation of each generator is basically consistent and easy to obtain. Firstly, the inertia support power of the system is quantified according to the disturbance power and frequency, and then the inertia support energy of the disturbance process is obtained. Finally, the system inertia is estimated by the ratio of the inertia support energy to the maximum frequency deviation. The proposed estimation method is suitable for non‐COI frequency, which makes it unnecessary to obtain the COI frequency and RoCoF. On this basis, a simplified estimation method is proposed based on the linearization of regulation power, which improves the estimation accuracy and simplifies the estimation process. According to the proposed method, the governor test data is used to estimate, which increases the estimation times and provides more information for system stable operation. The effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method are validated by some cases.

Railway station plays an important role in improving the operation efficiency of rail-sea intermodal container terminal. The cooperative scheduling of multiple gantry cranes (GCs) can reduce the production and operation cost of railway station. Most studies look into discarding the conflict schemes of GCs, which may obtain excellent scheduling results. These existing conflict-free strategies can not contribute to enhancing the cooperative scheduling performance of multiple GCs. This study integrates container trucks into multiple GCs scheduling environment to eliminate those conflicts, and proposes a mixed-integer programming model considering cooperation between multiple GCs and trucks. The model aims to simultaneously minimize the makespan of the container handling system in station, the total empty travel time of GCs and the total energy consumption of both cranes and trucks. To solve the proposed model, a conflict-free operation strategy for multiple GCs based on hybrid indirect loading and unloading (CFHI) is proposed. CFHI strategy is implemented according to the cooperation between GCs and trucks. An effective multi-objective artificial bee colony algorithm (EMOABC) based on CFHI and fuzzy correlation entropy (FCE) is developed. Within the developed algorithm, an encoding/decoding method based on CFHI is designed to represent and decode the population solutions. The FCE is adopted to evaluate and select the better solutions for next iteration evolution. The effectiveness of the proposed CFHI strategy is verified by comparing it with two popular equipment allocation strategies. Extensive experimental results show that proposed EMOABC is effective to the proposed model. Our findings here have significant implications for the cooperative operation of multiple GCs considering energy consumption in container terminal.

As an essential part of classical analysis, Ostrowski and Čebyšev type inequalities have recently attracted considerable attention. Due to its universality, the non-additive integral inequality takes several forms, including Sugeno integrals, Choquet integrals, and pseudo-integrals. Set-valued analysis, a well-known generalization of classical analysis, is frequently employed in studying mathematical economics, control theory, etc. Inspired by pioneering work on interval-valued inequalities, this paper establishes specific Ostrowski and Čebyšev type inequalities for interval-valued functions. Moreover, the error estimation to quadrature rules is presented as some applications for illustrating our results. In addition, illustrative examples are offered to demonstrate the applicability of the mathematical methods presented.

Public health emergencies are inevitable major development crises, and there are almost no omens of any emergency. The current social development would inevitably affect the psychological situation of civil servants. Grass roots civil servants have a wider range of tasks, more difficult working conditions and a more difficult environment. Under the strong social pressure, civil servants would also have negative factors such as fear and negative attitude. The mental health of grass-roots civil servants depends not only on the image and efficiency of the government, but also on creating a harmonious atmosphere and the quality of economic development. Therefore, people must pay attention to the psychological health of civil servants. It is mainly through psychological intervention and psychological adjustment to improve mental health. By analyzing the psychological characteristics of civil servants under emergencies and under pressure, and according to the importance of their coping ability under emergencies, this paper conducted corresponding psychological adjustment and psychological intervention to ensure the psychological health of civil servants, improve their ability to deal with public emergencies, and enable them to use correct and positive psychology to deal with public emergencies. It can be seen from the firefly algorithm that the prediction error value of the comprehensive quality of civil servants was declining, while the evaluation effect of the comprehensive quality was rising. The average value of the prediction error value of the comprehensive quality was about 0.49, and the average value of the evaluation effect of the comprehensive quality was about 0.73. In the whole process, the prediction error value of comprehensive quality decreased by 0.37, and the evaluation effect of comprehensive quality increased by 0.33. The comprehensive psychological quality and psychological adjustment ability of civil servants after psychological intervention were better than those before psychological intervention. The comprehensive psychological quality of civil servants after psychological intervention was 8.56% higher than that before psychological intervention, and the psychological adjustment ability was 8.47% higher than that before psychological intervention.

There is uncertainty regarding the usefulness of CDK4/6-inhibitor-based therapy for hormone receptor positive (HR+), human epidermal grow factor receptor 2 negative (HER2−), metastatic breast cancer (MBC), when CDK4/6 inhibitor treatment had previously failed. Furthermore, a biomarker for abemaciclib resistance has not been identified. Herein, we reported outcomes for an HR+/HER2− MBC patient diagnosed with multiple myeloma and treated with abemaciclib and exemestane, who had cancer progression after treatment with palbociclib and fulvestrant. Thalidomide was used in conjunction with all treatments. The patient had a good response to abemaciclib and exemestane, with progression-free survival much longer than previously reported. PIK3CA and TP53 mutations were identified after cancer progression following abemaciclib treatment. It is unclear whether thalidomide increased the effectiveness of abemaciclib. Whether benefit can be derived by the use of PI3K inhibitors, after cancer progression, requires further investigation, and this may be best accomplished by the use of next-generation sequencing.

Abstract Background Ovarian cancer (OC) is the most lethal gynecological malignancy. The objective of this study was to establish and validate an individual aging‐related gene signature and a clinical nomogram that can powerfully predict independently the overall survival rate of patients with ovarian cancer. Methods Data on transcriptomic profile and relevant clinical information were retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database as a training group, and the same data from three public Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases as validation groups. Univariate Cox regression analysis, lasso regression analysis, and multiple multivariate Cox analysis were analyzed sequentially to select the genes to be included in the aging‐associated signature. A risk scoring model was established and verified, the predictive value of the model was evaluated, and a clinical nomogram was established. Results We found eight genes that were most relevant to prognosis and constructed an eight‐mRNA signature. Based on the model, each OC patient's risk score was able to be calculated and patients were split into groups of low and high risks with a distinct outcome. Survival analysis confirmed that the outcome of patients in the high‐risk group was dramatically shorter than that of those in the low‐risk group, and the eight‐mRNA signature can be considered as a powerful and independent predictor that could predict the outcome of OC patient. Additionally, the risk score and age can be used to construct a clinical nomogram as a simpler tool for predicting prognosis. We also explored the association between the risk score and immunity and drug sensitivity. Conclusion This study suggested that the aging‐related gene signature could be used as an intervention point and latent prognostic predictor in OC, which may provide new perceptions for postoperative treatment strategies.

Abstract The increasing number and types of industrial tasks require factories to be more flexible in production. An improved discrete cuckoo search algorithm (CSA) is proposed and used to optimise the mixed no‐idle permutation flow shop scheduling problem (MNPFSP). This problem considers MNPFSP energy consumption (MNPFSP_EC) an optimisation objective. Firstly, according to the characteristics of the individual update formula in the two stages of the standard CSA, the paper replaces the real number calculation or vector calculation in the original update formula with a discrete operation to keep the update mechanism of each stage unchanged. The change allows the algorithm to directly find a feasible solution in the discrete solution space that significantly improves the global search capability of cuckoo search. Secondly, an adaptive‐starting local search based on quasi‐entropy (QE) is constructed using swap, insert and 2‐OPT operations with an exploitation that is adaptively executed based on QE, and QE is used to represent the diversity of population and control individuals in deciding whether to execute local search, thereby reducing computational complexity. Simulation experiments and comparisons of different instances demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can effectively solve MNPFSP_EC.
