2. The role of the electrocardiogram in identifying the risk of sudden cardiac death

Introduction: Sudden cardiac death (SCD) represents the unexpected and sudden death of young apparently healthy people. Alarge number of examined cases referred to professional athletes. There is not enough data in the literature related to those who performed sports in a sporadic and recreational manner. In order to prevent SCD, a screening protocol was determined, in which, an ECG performed at rest plays a important role. Based on the established criteria, changes on the ECG can be treated as normal, borderline and abnormal. An abnormal result indicates a risk of SCD. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the risk of SCD in students who practice physical activity recreationally. Methods: The research involved 500 students (both sexes) of the 1st and 3rd year of study on the University of Pristina situated in Kosovska Mitrovica. As part of the regular systematic examination, an ECG was performed at rest. The risk of SCD was determined by analyzing the changes on the ECG and grouping them based on screening recommendations. Results: The obtained results show that 44% of students had changes on the ECG and that 8% of students had an abnormal result indicated a possible risk of sudden cardiac death. Conclusion: Therefore, timely recognizing and interpreting ECG changes in accordance with screening recommendations is an imperative for identification and possible prevention of SCD.

3. Protective effects of pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo L.) seed oil on rat liver damage induced by chronic alcohol consumption

Pumpkin seed oil (PSO) possesses a protective potential against liver injury due to the presence of biologically active ingredients. Adult male albino rats were administrated PSO (per os, 2 mL/kg b.w./day) and a 12% ethanol solution in water, ad libitum, with an average intake of 8.14 g of ethanol/kg bw/day for 6 weeks. Congestion, hepatic central vein dilation, portal vein branch dilation, Kupffer cell hyperplasia, fatty liver changes, hepatocyte focal necrosis were observed after daily alcohol intake. All observed changes were reduced when PSO was ingested with ethanol. PSO intake itself induced discrete cellular edema, congestion and slight dilatation of the central and portal vain branches. Chronic ethanol intake elevated catalase (CAT) activity and glutathione reductase (GR) protein expression; concomitant PSO intake had no effect on CAT activity or GR protein expression. PSO intake decreased the activities of GR, glutathione-S-transferase (GST) and xanthine oxidase (XOD) in the liver, probably due to the ingestion of antioxidants. Intake of PSO and ethanol significantly decreased cytosolic superoxide dismutase (SOD1) and increased NF-κB protein expression compared to ethanol intake, suggesting that the protective effects of PSO were mediated by the NF-κB signaling pathway. Our results reveal a therapeutic potential of PSO in alcoholic liver disease.

5. Significance of hysteroscopy in diagnosis and treatment of congenital uterine anomalies

Background/Aim. Hysteroscopy is one of the important methods in the endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of infertility, particularly at the examination of the morphology and function of the uterus. Uterine factor is present at 10% of infertile women, in which changes of the uterus can be congenital or acquired. The aim of this study was to estimate the significance of hysteroscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital anomalies of the uterine cavity in patients in whom there was a reasonable suspicion for them based on prior clinical, ultrasound and hysterosalpingography (HSG) findings. The significance of hysteroscopy is considered in relation to the number of pregnancies achieved depending on the malformations in the 12 months period after the completion of the diagnostic or operational hysteroscopy. Methods. The study included 176 patients with congenital uterine anomalies, which had undergone hysteroscopy, diagnostic or operative, in the period from January 1, 2013 till January 1, 2016. Percentage of pregnancy was followed at all patients during the first 12 months after surgery. Patients were divided into two groups: the first group contained women who had pregnancy, and the second group included women who earlier were not pregnant. Their characteristics were compared, such as: age, duration of infertility, previous pregnancy and/or pregnancy loss, HSG and ultrasound findings, types of congenital anomalies, type of hysteroscopy, as well as the existence of associated pathology. Results. The mean age of patients tested in the study was 35 years. The group of patients with primary infertility had a total of 107 patients, while 69 patients were with secondary infertility. The average duration of infertility was 3 years in the studied patients. In the 12-months period, 39 of the examined women began pregnancy, which was completed with term delivery in 33 women. χ2 test showed a statistical significance difference (p < 0.05) between the groups of the patients with or without pregnancy after hysteroscopy in relation to infertility types as well as in relation to the number of previous miscarriages. Conclusion. Subseptus and septus uteri were the most common congenital uterine malformations in our patients. Very rare were uterus arquatus, uterus unicornis and uterus bicornis. In our study, 1/5 of examined women achieved pregnancy after hysteroscopy in the reporting period of 12 months, while the majority of these pregnancies ended with term delivery. The percentage of miscarriages in the examined women was reduced from 38% to 15% after hysteroscopy. In women who achieved pregnancy, uterine septum and subseptum were mostly diagnosed and in these patients hysteroscopic resection was successfully performed.

7. The effects of whey and pumpkin seed oil on blood biochemical parameters of liver function and lipid profile in rats chronically drinking low concentrations of ethanol

We studied the effects of whey and pumpkin seed oil supplementation on the biochemical parameters in blood serum of male rats after chronic ad libitum alcohol consumption. The levels of AST, ALT, total bilirubin, ALP, LDH, triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, VLDL, triglyceride/HDL ratio, total cholesterol/HDL ratio (cholesterol ratio) and LDL/HDL ratio (index of atherosclerosis) were determined in rats after six weeks of treatment with: (i) ethanol (12% ethanol, ad libitum), (ii) whey (2 g/kg per day), (iii) pumpkin seed oil (2 mL/kg per day), (iv) both ethanol and whey, and (v) both ethanol and pumpkin seed oil. The results showed no changes in the levels of AST, ALT, total bilirubin, ALP, total cholesterol, HDL and VLDL in alcoholic rats when compared to the controls (fed with a standard laboratory diet ad libitum) and rats supplemented with whey and pumpkin seed oil. Our results suggest that alcohol consumption in small doses for 6 weeks changes lipid metabolism and significantly elevates the LDL/HDL ratio (index of atherosclerosis) but does not induce extensive liver damage. Ethanol consumption in our experimental conditions lowered the triglyceride level as well as the triglyceride/HDL ratio, suggesting lipid redistribution and the induction of some cardio-protective effect. However, ethanol induced a higher index of atherosclerosis. Pumpkin seed oil showed some protective potential in alcoholic rats by lowering the total cholesterol/HDL ratio, but it elevated the LDH. Whey consumption prevented elevation of the atherosclerosis index, pointing to its protective role, probably through the redistribution of lipids. U ovom je radu opisan robotski sustav za manipulaciju dijelovima u pokretu, realiziran uporabom industrijske opreme u Laboratoriju za autonomne sustave u CRTA-i na Fakultetu strojarstva i brodogradnje. Sustav je izveden sinkronizacijom rada triju industrijskih robota na zadatku kružnog transporta objekata na transportne trake. Primjenom softverskih opcija Machine vision, Line tracking i Vision Line Tracking postignut je nadzor putanje robota pri izvršavanju pick and place zadataka. U radu se svaki robot koristi jednom od navedenih softverskih opcija da bi pronašao položaj zadanog objekta na pokretnoj traci ili horizontalnoj ravnini, što je početni položaj objekata u sustavu. Cilj robotskog sustava za manipulaciju dijelovima u pokretu je, nakon početnog punjenja sustava objektima pomoću SCARA robota, kontrolom dvaju delta-robota ostvariti neprekidan kružni rad hvatanja i odlaganja objekta u pokretu. Da bi se ostvarila definirana funkcionalnost sustava, bilo je potrebno za rad osposobiti tri robotske stanice. U ovom je radu za vizualno pronalaženje objekata na stanici SCARA robota SR-6iA primijenjen softverski paket iRVision. Na delta-robotu M-3iA konfigurirana je Tracking opcija za linijsko praćenje objekta na traci, dok je za vizualno praćenje objekta s pomoću delta-robota DR-3iB bilo potrebno izraditi programski kôd za određivanje položaja objekta na traci. Programskim kôdom kombiniraju se podaci prikupljeni iz iRVision i Tracking programa, konfiguriranih na delta-robotu DR-3iB. Što se tiče hardverskih rješenja, konstruiran je i instaliran nosač za enkodere, koji su konfigurirani da bi robotima slali podatke o položaju ulazne pokretne trake. Da bi se pronašla prisutnost objekata, na bočne strane pokretnih traka postavljeni su senzori, koji su potomo žičeni na digitalne ulaze robota. Izrađeni su nosači za kamere, te su one postavljene i na SCARA robotu SR-6iA i delta-robotu DR-3iB kalibrirani su vizijski sustavi za pronalaženje objekta. Nadalje, za početni položaj predmeta rada postavljena je horizontalna ravnina, s koje SCARA robot puni sustav predmetima rada. Za sve robote bilo je potrebno instalirati pneumatske sustave za dotok zraka i ožičiti signale digitalnih izlaza za aktivaciju pneumatskih ventila. Uz to, na SCARA robotu SR-6iA i delta-robotu DR-3iB konstruirani su i integrirani radni alati s pneumatskim hvataljkama. Na svim su robotima izrađeni sigurnosni programski kodovi za zaustavljanje cijelog sustava ako dođe do prekida snopa sigurnosnih senzora. Na kraju je bilo potrebno dizajnirati upravljački HMI zaslon, kao centralno mjesto za automatsko pokretanje sustava. This master thesis describes a robotic system for the manipulation of moving parts realized, using industrial equipment in the Laboratory for Autonomous Systems at CRTA at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding. The system was implemented by synchronizing the work of three industrial robots on the task of circular object transportation onto conveyor belts. By using the software options Machine Vision, Line Tracking, and Vision Line Tracking, it was possible to control the paths of the robot during the execution of pick-and-place tasks. During the operation, each robot uses one of the listed software options to detect the position of a given object on the conveyor belt or horizontal plane, which is the initial position of the objects in the system. After the initial filling of the system with objects using the SCARA robot, the goal of the robot system for manipulating parts in motion is to achieve a continuous circular operation of catching and placing objects in motion, under the control of two delta robots. To achieve the defined functionality of the system, it was necessary to capacitate three robotic stations.In this project, the iRVision software package was used for visual detection of objects at the SCARA robot SR-6iA station. On the delta robot M-3iA, the Tracking option was configured for linear tracking of the object on the track, while for the visual tracking of the object using the delta robot DR-3iB, it was necessary to create a program code to determine the position of the object on the track. The program code combines the data collected from the iRVision and Tracking programs configured on the delta Robot DR-3iB. As for the hardware solutions, a holder for the encoders was designed and installed, and the encoders were configured to send information about the input conveyor belt position to the robots. To detect the presence of objects, sensors were placed on the sides of the conveyorbelts and wired to the Robot's digital inputs. Camera mounts were made, cameras were installed and the vision system for object detection was calibrated on the SCARA Robot SR6iA and delta Robot DR-3iB. Furthermore, a horizontal plane was set for the initial position of the work object, from which the robot fills the system with work objects. It was necessary for all robots to install pneumatic systems for the air supply and to wire digital output signals to activate the pneumatic valves. In addition, integrated work tools with pneumatic grippers were designed on the SCARA Robot SR-6iA and delta Robot DR-3iB. Safety programming codes have been created on all robots, to stop the entire system if the beam of safety sensors is interrupted. In the end, it was necessary to design a control HMI screen as the main place for automatic system startup.

Tapered steel members are widely used in structural and architectural engineering for their efficiency and adaptability, allowing for optimal material usage tailored to specific load levels. However, their complex stability characteristics have hindered their representation in modern design standards like EN 1993 and AISC 360. Existing buckling solutions are limited, and practical research is lacking. This paper comprehensively examines the buckling resistance calculation methodologies for members with variable cross-sections, addressing discrepancies across the methodologies, particularly regarding the tapering ratio. A parametric analysis and numerical simulations were conducted to evaluate each methodology's applicability, emphasizing the need to balance computational simplicity and accuracy. The study primarily focused on tapered steel beams, considering the different tapering ratios and loading conditions. The findings provide valuable insights into the buckling behavior in tapered members and the practical implications for real-world structural designs. By examining the available analytical methods for calculating the buckling resistance of tapered elements, a better understanding of how to accommodate the non-uniformity of a member was gained, enabling an overview of the variance in the determined resistances and an assessment of the method's applicability. Moreover, specific calculation methodologies were found to have shortcomings that require modifications for a more accurate parametric analysis. 10. Antioxidative features of whey and its application in liver protection

Oxidative stress represents a condition in which there is an imbalance between the production of free radicals and their removal. Many risk factors, including alcohol, drugs, environmental pollutants, radiation, infective agents can induce oxidative stress in the liver leading to the functional disturbance of the liver cells. In order to reduce oxidative stress, modern medicine goes back to the natural substances, which are becoming increasingly popular both in prevention and in treatment of many diseases. Numerous hepatoprotective substances such as silymarin, spirulina, pumpkin oil and whey are used in traditional diets by many people. Some experimental studies on animals and the monitoring of the effects on humans showed that whey can be estimated as an important antioxidant in the treatment of liver diseases. New information obtained on the basis of controlled experimental and clinical studies of its effects in terms of protection or treatment of already existing changes in the liver tissue, certainly contribute to defining the concrete possibilities of potential use in therapeutic methods, either as a supplement or extrication of specific medicinal ingredients.

11. ANALYSIS OF CHARGE SHAPE INFLUENCE ON BLAST PRESSURE

Blast wave intensity depends on several parameters, namely: explosive material type, charge weight, shape and orientation, detonation point position, detonation initiator type (primary explosive type), the position (distance) of the explosive charge in relation to the intended target (standoff distance) and ground surface. Environmental conditions, particularly air temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure, also influence blast pressures. It is difficult to accurately predict the blast wave action on target structures if all of these parameters are considered. This research concentrates on the influence of the shape of the explosive charge on blast pressure measurements. Spherical and hemispherical charge shapes are considered usual and, as such, accurate and reliable analytical expressions for the blast wave pressure approximation are available. The form and propagation of spherical charge blast waves are considered to have been thoroughly studied and known. In today’s urban and guerrilla warfare, speed of action is a crucial factor. Rendering the careful shaping of explosive charges is time consuming and unnecessary, hence the need for investigating different charge shapes, other than spherical. This investigation consisted of field range experimental measurements of the incident (freefield) and reflected pressures caused by detonating differently shaped charges. The shapes considered were: spherical, cylindrical and rectangular. The experiments were numerically validated and verified using ANSYS Autodyn hydrocode software. Numerical simulations utilised a coupled Euler–Lagrange planar solver, using an ideal air environment and PEP500 explosive material. Charge shapes varied, according to the experimental outline, and the measuring points were constant, to allow comparison of the measured data.

Primarni cilj ovog rada je iskorištavanje modernih razvojnih softverskih alata pri izradi web aplikacije za stomatološke ordinacije. Aplikacija omogućava sistematično rezerviranje termina stomatoloških pregleda pacijenata kod odabranog stomatologa, pregled nadolazećih i prethodnih termina, uvid u dentalni karton i povijest obavljenih zahvata. Koncept aplikacije osmišljen je s ciljem pojednostavljivanja vođenja administrativnog dijela posla stomatologa i pacijenta pri stomatološkim aktivnostima. Kombinacija tehnologija koje su korištene za izradu poslužiteljskog dijela aplikacije (engl. backend) se sastoji od sustava za upravljanje relacijskim bazama podataka MySQL te poslužiteljskog programskog jezika PHP. Klijentska strana (engl. client-side) je izrađena u razvojnom okviru AngularJS i programskom jeziku JavaScript. Dok je za oblikovanje korišten stilski jezik CSS i Bootstrap, CSS okvir otvorenog kôda., The primary goal of this bachelor thesis is to use modern software development tools for developing a web application for dental practices. The application enables systematic booking of appointments for dental examination of patients at the selected dentist, review of upcoming appointments, insight into the dental records and history of performed procedures. The concept of application was designed with the aim of simplifying management of administrative part of work of dentists and patients in dental activities. The combination of technologies used to create backend side of application consists of MySQL system for managing relational databases and PHP server-side language. The client-side was created in AngularJS framework an d JavaScript. While CSS style language and Bootstrap were used for formatting.

Primjena tehnologije u poslovanju neizostavna je stavka svakog poduzeća, u našem slučaju hotela. Smanjenje vremena potrebnog za obavljanje rutinskih poslova, unaprijeđena komunikacija, smanjenje troškova poslovanja i potreba za osobljem rezultat su primjene informacijsko-komunikacijskih tehnologija u hotelskom poslovanju. Kako bi se pobliže upoznali takvim tehnologijama, Radisson hoteli i njihove tehnologije pružaju nam uvid u način funkcioniranja tih tehnologija. The application of technology in business is an indispensable element of every company, in our case a hotel. Reduction of the time needed to perform routine tasks, improved communication, reduction of business costs and the need for staff are the result of the application of information and communication technologies in hotel business. In order to get closer to such technologies, Radisson hotels and their technologies provide us with an insight into how these technologies work. Adding the fact that the system is based on cloud technology, it opens up even more space for considering the benefits of modern technology in hotel business. By developing mobile applications and websites, users are given extremely powerful tools that improve their overall experience in a simple way, while hotels and companies greatly simplify their business. Growing trends in the field of information and communication technologies further reinforce the need to monitor and implement various hotel technologies.

Predstavljena je problematika djelovanja eksplozije na nadvožnjake iz različitih vidova istraživanja. Svjetski istraživači na temelju dostupnih normi i prijašnjih iskustava razvijaju poboljšane sustave stupova nadvožnjaka otpornih na djelovanje eksplozije. Kroz analitičku, eksperimentalnu i numerički analizu razjašnjavaju ponašanje najučestalijih oblika, kružni i pravokutni, stupova na djelovanje eksplozije. Također predlažu izvedbu složenih stupova ; sprezanje čelika i betona, oblačenje betonskih stupova čeličnim košuljicama, primjena betona visokih čvrstoća, betona ojačanih različitim tipovima mikro vlakana kao moguća rješenja povećanja otpornosti na djelovanje eksplozije u fazi projektiranja. Predstavljena istraživanja daju određena rješenja i rezultate ispitivanja koja pružaju uvid u složenost analiza i malu pouzdanost procijenjenih opterećenja što iziskuje daljnja istraživanja u ovom području. Slijedom toga i projekt BLAST analizira postojeće stupove te nastoji procijeniti moguću razinu oštećenja istih nakon djelovanja eksplozije i predložiti rješenja ojačanja stupova kako bi se izbjegle katastrofalne posljedice u slučaju takvih napada. Cilj je i predložiti postupak proračuna stupa izloženog višestrukoj (engl. Mulithazard) opasnosti. Trenutno se analiziraju eksperimentalni podatci postojećih stupova te kalibriraju numerički modeli koji će poslužiti kao temelj za daljnju parametarsku analizu i oformljivanje baze za prijedlog proračuna.

Ahilova tetiva (lat. tendo calcanei) najduža je i najsnažnija tetiva u ljudskom tijelu, duljine 15 do 16 centimetara i debljine 5 do 6 centimetara. Svoje ime duguje grčkom junaku Ahileju koji je u ratu bio pogođen u petu. Puknuće Ahilove tetive nastaje zbog neizravnog djelovanja sile na nategnutu tetivu. Jedna je od najčešćih i najtežih mišićnih ozljeda kod sportaša, a liječiti se može operativno i neoperativno. Neoperativni dio liječenja (ili nakon operativnog zahvata) uključuje dugu rehabilitaciju koja uključuje fizikalnu terapiju kako bi se vratile funkcije ozlijeđene tetive. Prilikom rehabilitacijskog procesa, fizioterapeut se koristi fizioterapijskim procjenama i intervencijama kako bi se sportašu osigurao što brži oporavak i kako bi se spriječila mogućnost nastanaka ponovne ozljede tetive. Nakon medicinske obrade liječnika, fizioterapeut koristeći SOAP model postavlja fizioterapijsku dijagnozu sportaša, te po njoj provodi fizioterapijsku intervenciju i samu rehabilitaciju. Rehabilitacija je obično duga, kod ozljede Ahilove tetive, a može trajati od 6 do 12 tjedana, ali najčešće traje od 6 do 12 mjeseci kako bi se sportaš u potpunosti oporavio i vratio na sportske terene

17. Izrada trodimenzionalnog modela laboratorija

U ovome radu biti će objašnjen postupak kreiranja 3D prikaza prostorije Laboratorija za projektiranje izradbenih i montažnih sustava. Upotrebom stereo kamere Intel RealSense D435 navedeni prostor je snimljen i iz dobivenih snimki se pomoću programa RTAB- Map kreira oblak točaka (engl. Point Cloud). U cilju generiranja što vjernijeg prikaza laboratorija bilo je potrebno otkloniti višak točaka koje su raspršene u prostoru te ne predstavljaju nikakvu funkcionalnu cjelinu prostora laboratorija nego su one šum nastao tijekom snimanja prostorije. Otklanjanje šuma i generiranje 3D mreže u takvom novom oblaku točaka te optimiranje 3D mreže primjenom programa MeshLab također su teme kojih će se ovaj rad dotaknuti. Cilj ovog rada je dobiti takav 3D model laboratorija koji će biti što sličniji onom stvarnom. Da bi se taj pokušaj prikaza stvarnog prostora u virtualnom svijetu mogao evaluirati, model će biti integriran u okolinu za virtualnu stvarnost. Upotrebom VR naočala moći će se steći stvarni doživljaj kvalitete integracije realnog svijeta u onaj virtualni.

Na sjevernozapadnom području otoka Ugljana planirana je izgradnja marine s ciljem osiguravanja zaštite te pružanja povoljnih vjetrovalnih i maritimnih uvjeta plovilima unutar marine. Temeljem analize vjetrovalnih podataka lokacije obuhvata dat je prijedlog rješenja lukobrana marine na otoku Ugljanu. Predloženi su lukobran nasutog tipa te lukobran tipa zid, uz date proračune i dimenzioniranja., In the north-western area of the island of Ugljan, the construction of a marina is planned with the aim of ensuring protection and providing favourable wind and maritime conditions for vessels inside the marina. Based on the analysis of the wind data of the coverage area, a proposal for the solution of the breakwater of the marina on the island of Ugljan is given. Proposed types are a rubble mound and a vertical breakwater, with the given calculations and sizing.

Najveći broj pogonskih sustava u serijskoj i masovnoj industriji zahtijeva sortiranje proizvoda na završnoj pokretnoj traci pogona. U većini slučajeva, sortiranje proizvoda izvode ljudi koji su zaposleni na toj završnoj traci i oni obavljaju zadaću sortiranja. Taj je posao jako zamoran i teško je tu zadaću obavljati besprijekorno puno radno vrijeme. Treba navesti i napomenu da se pokretna traka zaustavlja samo u iznimnim situacijama tako da na traci mora biti zaposleno više ljudi. Iz prethodno navedenih razloga cilj ovog rada je zamijeniti ljudski rad upravljanim pneumatskim sustavom. U radu je opisano kako je taj sustav izveden i kako se upravlja pneumatskim sustavom. Također, navedene su prednosti pneumatike i u kojim industrijama bi se koristio ovaj sustav. Almost every plant in the serial and mass production requires product sorting on the final drive belt. In most cases, sorting is done by the people who are employed at that end of conveyor belt, and they perform the sorting task. This job is very tedious and it is difficult to perform this task flawlessly full time. It should also be noted that this conveyor belt only stops in exceptional situations, because of that more people should be employed on that place. For the foregoing reasons, the aim of this work is to show a solution in order to replace human labor with a controlled pneumatic system. The work describes how this system was made and how the pneumatic system is operated. The benefits of the pneumatics are also outlined and in which industries this system would be used.

22. Structural concepts in the design of masonry- infilled steel frames

Despite numerous research studies conducted in the field of masonry-infilled steel (and concrete) frames, there is still no adequate codified design method. There is, however, a consensus that masonry-infilled frames should be treated as potentially hazardous earthquake context structural solutions. While masonry infill has positive effects on steel frames, which are often neglected in design, adverse effects cannot be overlooked. Over the last decade, several structural solutions aimed to improve the overall structural behavior of these interactive composite systems were proposed and tested in laboratory conditions. It is not rare that these approaches are opposite to each other, which additionally stresses the fact that there is a need for recognition and validation of the key structural directions. Among various proposed design options, the authors are very interested in those which tend to include the beneficial effect of masonry infill, but at the same time preserve desired ductile behavior of steel frames, all by using simpler and easy to apply structural solutions. Some of them are already proposed by the authors, which are discussed in the paper, along with a summary and comparison of contemporary structural solutions in steel masonry-infilled frames, as an important step towards codification.

Tema ovo završnog rada je unaprijeđene rada protočne sušare furnira. Trenutno ručno podešavanje parametara unutar sušare ne zadovoljava zahtjeve željene kvalitete proizvoda što uzrokuje sve veće probleme zbog nezadovoljstva klijenata. Prevelike oscilacije od zadanih parametara za temperature i vlažnost zraka untar sušare događale su se zbog neadekvatne regulacije izvršnih članova. Ovim radom opisati će se projekt automatizacije rada sušare sa dodatkom predviđanja izlazne vlažnosti furnira pomoću neuronske mreže. U početnim poglavljima biti će opisane osnove procesa sušanja i neuronskih mreža. Praktičnim dijelom biti će prikazani ladder dijagrami u TIA Portalu koji preko Siemens PLC-a upravljaju ventilima za dovod pregrijane pare u izmjenjivače topline te za regulaciju klapne za odzračivanje, kako ne bi došlo do zasićenja zraka s vodenom parom. U zadnjem dijelu rada biti će objašnjena izrada neuronskih mreža pomoću MATLAB-ovog alata „Neural Network Toolbox“ te mogućnost predviđanja izlazne vlažnosti furnira temeljem uvjeta unutar sušare. The subject of this thesis is to improve the work of a veneer flow dryer. Currently, manually adjusting the dryer parameters does not meet the requirements of the desired quality of the product. It causes problems because of customer satisfaction. Excessive oscillations from the default parameters for ambient air temperature and humidity were caused by inadequate regulation of actuators. This thesis describes the dryer automation project with the addition of the forecast of the output moisture of the veneer using the neural net. The basics of the suture and neural networks will be described in the initial chapters. The practical part will be shown by the ladder diagrams in TIA Portal which, through Siemens PLC, will control valves for the supply of overheated steam to heat exchangers and for the regulation of aeration rods, so as to avoid saturation of air with water vapour. In the last part of the work, it will be explained by the development of neural networks, using the matrix of "Neural Network Toolbox" tools and the ability to predict the output moisture of the veneer based on the conditions inside the dryer.

24. Protective effects of pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo L.) seed oil on rat liver damage induced by chronic alcohol consumption

- Abstract
Pumpkin seed oil (PSO) possesses a protective potential against liver injury due to the presence of biologically active ingredients. Adult male albino rats were administrated PSO (per os, 2 mL/kg b.w./day) and a 12% ethanol solution in water, ad libitum, with an average intake of 8.14 g of ethanol/kg bw/day for 6 weeks. Congestion, hepatic central vein dilation, portal vein branch dilation, Kupffer cell hyperplasia, fatty liver changes, hepatocyte focal necrosis were observed after daily alcohol intake. All observed changes were reduced when PSO was ingested with ethanol. PSO intake itself induced discrete cellular edema, congestion and slight dilatation of the central and portal vain branches. Chronic ethanol intake elevated catalase (CAT) activity and glutathione reductase (GR) protein expression; concomitant PSO intake had no effect on CAT activity or GR protein expression. PSO intake decreased the activities of GR, glutathione-S-transferase (GST) and xanthine oxidase (XOD) in the liver, probably due to the ingestion of antioxidants. Intake of PSO and ethanol significantly decreased cytosolic superoxide dismutase (SOD1) and increased NF-?B protein expression compared to ethanol intake, suggesting that the protective effects of PSO were mediated by the NF-?B signaling pathway. Our results reveal a therapeutic potential of PSO in alcoholic liver disease.

Svrha ovog rada bila je ispitati upoznatost vlasnika mačaka s dodacima prehrani, spremnost na korištenje suplemenata na bazi pčelinjih proizvoda te načinu korištenja i kupovine preko Interneta. Također, cilj je bio ispitati koje kanale bi bilo idealno koristiti ako bi se pokušalo tržišno predstaviti nove proizvode, odnosno dodatke prehrani za mačke. Korištenje online platformi definitivno je budućnost, ali i sadašnjost marketinga, a najveća vrijednost svakog Internetskog poslovanja je baza korisnika koju gradimo i imamo. Provedeno je anketno istraživanje u kojem su sudjelovala 292 ispitanika. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da vlasnici mačaka još uvijek nisu u potpunosti upoznati s pogodnostima dodataka prehrani, dok su im stavovi prema pčelinjim proizvodima bili uglavnom pozitivni. Također se pokazalo da su ispitanici, ukoliko su proizvodi učinkoviti i prirodni, spremni iste uvesti u dnevnu brigu o svojim mačkama. Nadalje, Internet kao platformu za kupovinu su ispitanici spremni koristiti ukoliko je ista percipirana sigurnom i kredibilnom. U zaključku su se naveli konkretni koraci i predložene strategije s kojima se može pokrenuti plasman novih proizvoda na tržište. Također se na kraju rada daje uvid u ograničenja rada i smjernice za buduća istraživanja. The purpose of this study was to examine the familiarity of cat owners with dietary supplements, their willingness to use supplements based on bee products, the usage of Internet and their online purchase behaviour Also, the goal was to examine which channels would be ideal to use if we tried to introduce new products, cat food supplements, to the market. Using online platforms is the future, but also the present of marketing, and the greatest value of any Internet business is the user database. 292 respondents took part in the survey and according to the answers it can be concluded that cat owners are still not fully aware of the benefits of food supplements, while their general attitudes towards bee products are mostly affirmative. The results showed that if these products are perceived as efficient and natural, the respondents are willing to introduce them in the cat daily care. They are ready to use the Internet as a shopping platform if it is perceived as completely safe and trustworthy. In conclusion, concrete steps and proposed strategies of how to launch new products on the market are elaborated. In addition, at the end of the paper, research limitations and guidelines for future research are provided.

29. Utjecaj sustava držanja i tjelesnih masa crnih slavonskih svinja na njihovu mesnatost i kvalitetu mesa

Istraživanje je provedeno s po 24 svinje iz otvorenoga (ekstenzivnoga) i poluotvorenoga (poluintenzivnoga) sustava, od kojih su 12 muških kastrata i 12 nazimica. Svinje u oba sustava bile su tovljene do 100 kg (n = 12) i 130 kg (n = 12) tjelesne mase. Svinje iz otvorenoga sustava hranjene su na pašnjaku i na strništima, uz minimalno prihranjivanje kukuruzom tijekom zime, kada nema zelene mase. Svinje iz poluotvorenoga sustava hranjene su po volji obrokom kombiniranog od krmne smjese i zelene lucerne. Krmna smjesa u prvoj fazi tova (do 60 kg tjelesne mase) imala je 14% sirovih proteina i 13, 37 MJ ME/kg, a u drugoj fazi tova (60 – 130 kg tjelesne mase) imala je 12% sirovih proteina i 13, 34 MJ ME/kg. Disekcija ohlađenih (+4°C) desnih svinjskih polovica obavljena je prema modificiranoj metodi Weniger i sur. (1963.). Kvaliteta mesa (Muscullus longissimus dorsi) istražena je u pogledu pH vrijednosti, sposobnosti vezanja vode i boje. Mesnatost svinjskih polovica bila je veća kod svinja manjih tjelesnih masa (100 kg) u odnosu na svinje većih tjelesnih masa (130 kg) u oba sustava držanja, ali su te razlike bile značajne (p0, 05) (49, 23% i 44.99% : 46, 56% i 42, 82%). Istraživan je utjecaj tjelesne mase (100 i 130 kg) i sustava držanja (otvoreni i poluotvoreni) na prinos, raspodjelu i kvalitetu, mesa crnih slavonskih svinja. Svinje iz otvorenoga sustava hranjene su ekstenzivno (paša), a iz poluotvorenoga sustava hranjene su obrokom od kombinacije krmne smjese i zelene mase (lucerne). Tjelesne mase i sustavi držanja svinja imali su djelomičan utjecaj na konformaciju i kompoziciju svinjskih polovica i kvalitetu mesa. Nisu utvrđene razlike u mesnatosti svinjskih polovica s obzirom na sustave držanja svinja, ali su svinje manjih tjelesnih masa imale značajno više mesa od svinja većih tjelesnih masa u poluotvorenom sustavu. Stupanj crvenila mesa (CIE “L”) je veći kod svinja većih tjelesnih masa u otvorenome sustavu držanja. Kvaliteta mesa u svim skupinama bila je vrlo dobra.

- Abstract
In 2012, alcohol liver disease resulted in 3.3 million—5.9% of global deaths. This study introduced whey protection capacity against chronic alcohol-induced liver injury. Rats were orally administered to 12% ethanol solution in water (ad libitum, average 8.14 g of ethanol/kg body weight (b.w.)/day) alone or combined with whey (per os, 2 g/kg b.w./day). After 6-week treatment, chronic ethanol consumption induced significant histopathological liver changes: congestion, central vein dilation, hepatic portal vein branch dilation, Kupffer cells hyperplasia, fatty liver changes, and hepatocytes focal necrosis. Ethanol significantly increased liver catalase activity and glutathione reductase protein expression without significant effects on antioxidative enzymes: glutathione peroxidase (GPx), copper–zinc-containing superoxide dismutase (CuZnSOD) and manganese-containing superoxide dismutase (MnSOD). Co-treatment with whey significantly attenuated pathohistological changes induced by ethanol ingestion and increased GSH-Px and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) protein expression. Our results showed positive effects of whey on liver chronically exposed to ethanol, which seem to be associated with NF-κB-GPx signaling. © The Author(s) 2019.

The paper presents the Eco build project whose idea is networking of science organizations with the industry by creating a crossborder network of owners and potential users of agricultural biomass/ ash. The available quantities of agricultural biomass in Croatia are presented and it is concluded that quantities are up to 10 times larger than the amount of available forestry waste that the current biomass power plants in Croatia use as energy sources. In order to promote biomass as an energy source, its heating power is determined and compared to the heating power of standard energy sources. The possibilities of using waste materials in building industry with emphasis on biomass are outlined ; wood chips and agricultural biomass. As the burning of biomass results in non-negligible amounts of ash, Eco build is investigating the possibilities of its application in building products for the purpose of its disposal. Preliminary results of ash of the sunflower seeds shells, wheat and barley straw ash as well as soybean straw ash suggest that these ashes exhibit the potential for use in building industry, but because of the differences in their characteristics, each of them needs to be investigated in more detail.

- Abstract
We studied the effects of whey and pumpkin seed oil supplementation on the biochemical parameters in blood serum of male rats after chronic ad libitum alcohol consumption. The levels of AST, ALT, total bilirubin, ALP, LDH, triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, VLDL, triglyceride/HDL ratio, total cholesterol/HDL ratio (cholesterol ratio) and LDL/HDL ratio (index of atherosclerosis) were determined in rats after six weeks of treatment with: (i) ethanol (12% ethanol, ad libitum), (ii) whey (2 g/kg per day), (iii) pumpkin seed oil (2 mL/kg per day), (iv) both ethanol and whey, and (v) both ethanol and pumpkin seed oil. The results showed no changes in the levels of AST, ALT, total bilirubin, ALP, total cholesterol, HDL and VLDL in alcoholic rats when compared to the controls (fed with a standard laboratory diet ad libitum) and rats supplemented with whey and pumpkin seed oil. Our results suggest that alcohol consumption in small doses for 6 weeks changes lipid metabolism and significantly elevates the LDL/HDL ratio (index of atherosclerosis) but does not induce extensive liver damage. Ethanol consumption in our experimental conditions lowered the triglyceride level as well as the triglyceride/HDL ratio, suggesting lipid redistribution and the induction of some cardio-protective effect. However, ethanol induced a higher index of atherosclerosis. Pumpkin seed oil showed some protective potential in alcoholic rats by lowering the total cholesterol/HDL ratio, but it elevated the LDH. Whey consumption prevented elevation of the atherosclerosis index, pointing to its protective role, probably through the redistribution of lipids. However, whey in combination with ethanol elevated LDH.

Tema ovog rada je plasiranje novih prozivoda na trţište hrane za kućne ljubimce. Kako bi razumijevanje ovog rada bilo olakšano u poĉetnom dijelu objašnjeni su pojmovi trţišta, konkunrecije, mehanizmi plasiranja, marketinške koncepcije te oblici diferenciranja. Druga polovica rada obuhvaća pozicioniranje proizvoda na trţište, naĉin korištenja internetskih platformi i društvenih mreţa kao alata za promoviranje te istraţivanje stavova vlasnika kućnih ljubimaca odnosno pasa. Kratak pregled rezultata istraţivanja pokazao je da status pasa u društvu konstantno raste te da uz tradicionalne naĉine kupovanja hrane te usluga koje vlasnici kućnih ljubimaca traţe od svojih distributera sve više raste preferencija za korištenjem internetskih platformi i modernijih mehanizama za obavljanje tih zadataka. Hrana koju nudite na trţištu treba imati pozadinu nuĊenja dodatnih usluga koje će ispoljavati veću vrijednost za potrošaĉe jer kvalitetna hrana ĉini samo mali dio onoga što vlasnici pasa traţe za svoje ljubimce. The topic of this paper is the introduction of new props into the pet food market. In order to understand this work easier in the initial part, they have explained the concepts of market, competition, marketing mechanisms, marketing concepts and forms of differentiation. The second half includes product market positioning, the use of Internet platforms and social networks as a tool for promotion and research of pet owners or dogs. A brief overview of the research results showed that the status of the dog in the society is constantly increasing and that, along with the traditional ways of buying food and services that pet owners are looking for from their distributors, there is increasing preference for using Internet platforms and more modern mechanisms to carry out these tasks. The foods you offer on the market should have additional services that will provide greater value to consumers because quality food is just a small part of what dogs owners are looking for, for their pets.

36. Legionellas in Croatian hospitals: an invisible or real danger

INTRODUCTION: Hospital-acquired pneumonia is the leading cause of mortality among patients with hospital infection (mortality is greater than 50% among intensive care patients). The most common etiologic agents are Klebsiella spp., Enterobacteriacae, S. aureus, anaerobes, S. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa and Legionella, and various influenza, RSV and adenovirus viruses. It is estimated that 2¬10% of the total number of pneumonia obtained in the hospital are caused by legionella bacteria. OBJECTIVE: To determine the occurrence of reported infections of legionnaires acquired in hospital in Croatia and to compare the results achieved with those in other European Community countries. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We analyzed the data obtained from the Registry for Legionella of the Croatian Institute of Public Health in Zagreb from 2007 to 2016. years. RESULTS: Of the total number of reported infections in legionnaires in Croatia in the observed period of 2% (2014) to 11, 3% (2010) belongs to those who were hospitalized. In 2008 and 2016 no legionella infections were recorded in the hospital. CONCLUSION: The presence of infections caused by legionella, particularly among immunocompromised populations, and the complexity of hospital water supply systems, implies the need for continuous measures to reduce the risk of these infections within the hospital.

U ovom se radu najprije razmatraju dvije različite vrste zidnih blokova (tzv. jaki i slabi) često korištenih u Hrvatskoj kao ispune čeličnih okvira. Na osnovu eksperimentalnih rezultata dobivenih ispitivanjem ponašanja tih dviju vrsta blokova predložena je treća vrsta ispune koja predstavlja specifičnu kombinaciju prethodnih dviju, kao mogućnost ostvarivanja kontroliranog ponašanja čeličnih okvira sa zidanom ispunom., Whether used as a curtain/partition wall or a bearing part of the structure, masonry infill significantly affects structural behaviour of the primary structure. Two different types of masonry units (‘strong’ and ‘weak’), often used in Croatia as infill of steel frames, are initially considered in the paper. Based on experimental results obtained by testing behaviour of these two types of masonry units, a third type of infill is proposed, which is a specific combination of the initial two types, and enables realisation of controlled behaviour of masonry-infilled steel frames., Unabhängig davon, ob es sich um Trennwände oder tragende Wände handelt, beeinflusst ausfachendes Mauerwerk das Verhalten des primären Tragwerks bedeutend. In dieser Arbeit werden zunächst zwei verschiedene Typen von Mauerwerksblöcken betrachtet (s. g. starke und schwache), die in Kroatien als Ausfachung verwendet werden. Basierend auf experimentellen Resultaten aus Versuchen an diesen Blöcken, wurde als ihre spezifische Kombination ein dritter Mauerwerkstyp vorgeschlagen, um ein kontrolliertes Verhalten von Stahlrahmen mit Mauerwerksausfachungen vorzuschlagen.

U ovom diplomskom radu napravljena je teorijska analiza pojmova nacije, identiteta, kulturne baštine i komodifikacije. Napravljen je pregled života Nikole Tesle i kulturne baštine koja ga predstavlja, koja je stavljena u kontekst prethodno navedenih pojmova, čime smo dobili uvid na koje se načine baština Nikole Tesle može uklopiti u okvire hrvatske nacionalne baštine. Naučili smo kako se sve komodificira i na koje se sve načine može komodificirati baština Nikole Tesle, te kakve su potencijalne pozitivne i negativne posljedice te prakse. Istraženo je gdje se sve danas lik Nikole Tesle pojavljuje, te kakvu vrijednost to pridodaje njegovoj baštini, posebno gledajući iz pozicije turizma. Analiza članaka koja je urađena u sklopu istraživačkog dijela ovog rada, gdje su pregledani članci o Nikoli Tesli sa četiri različita web-news portala, iz četiri različite države, nam je dala uvid u različite tematike unutar kojih se pojavljuje Nikola Tesla i u stavove autora i čitatelja prema Tesli. Istraživanje nam je također ukazalo i na to kako mediji iz različitih država na različite načine prikazuju identitet Nikole Tesle, ukazujući na one aspekte njegovog identiteta koji odgovaraju nacionalnim narativima država unutar kojih mediji djeluju. This thesis dealt with the theoretical analysis of the concepts of nation, identity and cultural heritage. Within this work we have reviewed the life of Nikola Tesla and cultural heritage that it represents, which was placed in the context of the concepts listed above and consequently gave us a glimpse at methods by which the heritage of Nikola Tesla can fit into the framework of Croatian national heritage. We have learned how the heritage of Nikola Tesla has been commodified, how it might be commodified, what are potential positive and negative consequences of this practice. We have explored places of occurrence of Teslas name, and what value this adds to his heritage, especially looking from the position of tourism. The analysis of articles done as a part of the research of this work, where we reviewed articles about Nikola Tesla from four different web news portals, from four different countries, has given us an insight into the various themes within which Nikola Tesla tends to appear and views that authors and readers hold about Tesla. The research has also revealed how media from different countries tends to present Teslas identity in a different ways, emphasizing those aspects of his identity that suit national narratives of the countries within which media operate.

The behaviour prediction of frame structures with masonry infill exhibited under lateral loading is still relatively complex. Although such composite constructions are frequently applied in buildings, there are no practice oriented models for their design, as it is the case with most other types of building systems. The use of existing approaches can lead to inadequate or overestimated load capacities, as different models are more or less suitable for certain applications and can give diverse results for the same system. This paper presents some of the modelling approaches used in strength prediction of steel frames with masonry infill. Based on experimental results of constitutive parts properties (steel material, masonry elements, mortar), is shown implementation of an equivalent diagonal model prediction using nonlinear and linear strength envelopes. Results gained by this investigation will serve for an experimental investigation on a steel one story – one bay frame with different types of masonry infill.

Intraduction. Extramedullary plasmocytoma occuring as solitary (primary) tumors or secondary manifestation of multiple myeloma represent less than 1% of all head and neck tumors. Plasmocytomas involving the skull base can produce a variety of signs nad symptoms ans appropriate diagnostic investigations may be delayed. We present the case of a female patient who was found to have multiple myeloma with extensive involvement of the skull base.

Okviri sa zidanim ispunom često se primjenjuju u Republici Hrvatskoj kod niskih i srednje visokih građevina. Ipak, ponašanje takvih konstrukcija još uvijek nije moguće obuhvatiti nekim relativno jednostavnim modelom ponašanja niti proračuna, kao što je to slučaj s većinom drugih uobičajenih tipova konstrukcija koje se koriste u praksi. Dapače, u konstrukterskoj se praksi može naći nekoliko, često i potpuno različitih pristupa za proračun okvirnih konstrukcija s zidanim ispunom. Pri tome čelični okviri imaju svoje specifičnosti u odnosu na češće korištene armiranobetonske. U radu se opisuje priprema predviđenog eksperimentalnog ispitivanja nekoliko modela čeličnih jednokatnih okvira s različitim tipovima zidanog ispuna koje će se provesti na Građevinskom fakultetu Osijek. Osnovni cilj načina konstruiranja i ispitivanja modela je pokušaj dobivanja kontroliranog odgovora sustava, posebna za veća (potresna) opterećenja, budući da je iz dosadašnjih spoznaja jasno da je u većini slučajeva vrlo teško predvidjeti točno ponašanje ovog kompozitnog sustava. U prilog tome govori i činjenica da u najnovijoj verziji eurokoda iz područja proračuna konstrukcija na potres (EN 1998-1) još uvijek nema detaljnije kodificirane procedure proračuna ovakvih konstrukcija, iako se naglašava potreba uzimanja u obzir interakcije između okvira i zidanog ispuna.

Rad obrađuje problematiku konstruiranja i dimenzioniranja čeličnih okvira sa zidanim ispunom. Ovakve su konstrukcije relativno česte, a značajnija istraživanja njihovoga ponašanja provode se od druge polovice prošloga stoljeća. Unatoč brojnim istraživanjima, još uvijek, postoji problematika procjene ponašanja konstrukcija ove vrste, osobito pri značajnijim horizontalnim djelovanjima jer zbog složenosti konstrukcijskog sustava ne postoji dovoljno pouzdana metoda procjene njezinoga ponašanja koja bi bila ugrađena u konstrukcijske norme, kao što je slučaj kod drugih uobičajenijih i jednostavnijih konstrukcija. U radu su prezentirani rezultati vlastitih provedenih istraživanja ponašanja čeličnih okvira sa zidanim ispunom. Disertacijom su obuhvaćena eksperimentalna istraživanja mehaničkih karakteristika zidnih elemenata, zidanog ispuna i čeličnog materijala, a dobiveni podatci korišteni su pri numeričkim simulacijama ponašanja jednokatnih čeličnih okvira sa zidanim ispunom izloženih horizontalnim djelovanjima. Pri istraživanju čeličnih okvira sa zidanim ispunom provedeno je ispitivanje triju serija sa po tri uzorka, uz dodatno ispitivanje i čeličnoga okvira bez ispuna, s ciljem utvrđivanja doprinosa pojedine vrste zidanoga ispuna na nosivost i krutost sustava. U prvoj seriji ispitano je ponašanje čeličnih okvira sa zidanim ispunom od šupljih glinenih blokova, u drugoj seriji ispun je bio od porobetonskih blokova, a potom je slijedilo originalno rješenje u kojem je ispun kombiniran od glinenih i porobetonskih blokova. Osnovna ideja ovoga pristupa je kako „mekši“ elementi konstrukcije (porobetonski blokovi), koji povezuju okvir i zidani glineni ispun, u sredini otkazuju ranije, te na taj način seizmički izoliraju zidani ispun od okvira radi što dužega očuvanja duktilnog ponašanja samoga čeličnoga okvira. Taj je način ponašanja povoljniji prilikom preuzimanja velikih opterećenja pri potresu, budući da prvobitni pozitivni doprinos zidanog ispuna većoj krutosti i otpornosti konstrukcije, poslije njegova otkazivanja, uzrokuje značajnije smanjenje preostale duktilnosti čeličnoga okvira. Prezentirani sustav kombiniranih zidnih elemenata različitih čvrstoća ne uzrokuje značajnije promjene u tehnologiji izvedbe, ne zahtjeva posebne alate i sredstva za ugradnju, a može značajno unaprijediti ponašanje ove vrste konstrukcija pri potresnome opterećenju. Smatra se kako takvo rješenje može biti racionalno s obzirom na relativno čestu primjenu zidanog ispuna u okvirnim konstrukcijama. Na osnovu eksperimentalnih rezultata istražena je primjenjivost različitih numeričkih modela pri opisivanju ponašanja ovakvih tipova konstrukcija. Izvršena je kalibracija numeričkih modela prema dobivenim eksperimentalnim rezultatima. Također je provedena i opsežna parametarska analiza s ciljem istraživanja važnosti i utjecaja pojedinih parametara u konstruiranju ovakvih konstrukcija. Urađen je i numerički primjer u kojem je analizirana višeetažna okvirna čelična konstrukcija, sa i bez zidanog ispuna, kako bi se odredio utjecaj različitih vrsta zidanih ispuna pri ponašanju ovakvih konstrukcija izloženih horizontalnim opterećenjima. Znanstveni doprinos ovoga rada je daljnje razjašnjenje fenomena ponašanja ovakvih konstrukcija, te prijedlog konstrukcijski jednostavnije metode za preveniranje nepovoljne interakcije zidanog ispuna s čeličnim okvirom pri velikim horizontalnim opterećenjima, a kroz kontrolu oštećenja pojedinih elemenata konstrukcije. Takva bi metodologija mogla biti primjenjiva u inženjerskoj praksi pri postupku proračuna i analize seizmičkog odgovora za optimalno projektiranje i procjenu ponašanja čeličnih okvira sa zidanim ispunima u seizmičkim i neseizmičkim područjima. Znanstveni doprinos rada očituje se i u formiranju baze eksperimentalnih rezultata kao važnoga izvora informacija na temelju kojega se dalje mogu istraživati pojedini fenomeni ponašanja čeličnih okvira sa zidanim ispunom. Važan dio rada predstavlja kritička ocjena primjenjivosti različitih vrsta modela za numeričku analizu sustava okvira sa zidanim ispunom, kao i sistematizacija utjecajnih parametara na ponašanje ovakvih konstrukcija kroz provedenu parametarsku analizu. Na temelju rezultata ovoga rada predložena je odgovarajuća metoda za praktično projektiranje čeličnih okvirnih konstrukcija s kombiniranim sustavom zidanoga ispuna., This thesis presents difficulties related to the design and execution of steel frames with masonry infill. These types of structures are relatively often and significant research on their behavior was conducted from the second half of the past century. Despite numerous investigations related to the evaluation of behavior that these structures exhibit under significant horizontal loads, because of their complexity there is still no applicable method for their reliable assessment, as it is the case with simpler constructions. Results of original experimental investigation of steel frames with masonry infill are presented and discussed. This investigation included determination of mechanical characteristics of materials used in such a composite system (masonry and steel), and obtained results were used for calibration of infilled steel frame subjected to horizontal loads numerical models. Experimental research of steel frames with masonry infill was carried out through three series that each had three samples which differed by different types of masonry infill, and on a frame without infill in order to determine the contribution that infill has to strength and stiffness of the composite system. First series samples enabled the investigation of steel frames with hollow clay bricks as infill, second sample had lightweight autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) blocks as infill, and third had infill comprised of both hollow clay and AAC masonry elements. The principle behind the idea of combining infill elements is that „softer“ components (AAC blocks), which link the steel frame columns with hollow clay bricks, fail first during seismic loading, thus enabling independent movement of the steel frame in order to utilize its ductility. This behavior is favorable during seismic loading due to the fact that masonry infill provides initial positive contributions to the strength and stiffness of the whole system, but after its failure significantly reduces residual ductility of the steel frame. Presented system with combined masonry elements, of different mechanical properties, can significantly improve the behavior of infilled frames under earthquake loading, and at the same time does not significantly change the building technology, requires no special installation tools and no additional resources. As such, its use can be a rational solution when it comes to seismic isolation of masonry infill from steel frames. On the basis of experimental results it was possible to investigate the applicability of various numerical models when it comes to prediction of such systems behavior. Test results were also used for the calibration of numerical models that enabled implementation of an extensive parametric analysis with the objective of determining the influence and importance that certain parameters have in such composite systems. Contribution of various masonry elements to the strength and stiffness of infilled steel frames loaded horizontally was analyzed through a numerical example of a multistory, multi-bay construction. Scientific contribution of this thesis is further clarification of behavior that steel frames with masonry infill exhibit under horizontal loads, and a proposal of a simple construction method which enables the prevention of adverse interaction between masonry infill and steel frame through damage control of specific areas of the infill. Such a methodology could be applied in engineering practice for optimal design and evaluation of behavior of steel frames with masonry infill in seismic and non-seismic areas. Further scientific contribution is reflected through forming of an experimental database, which can be a valuable source of information for additional research in this field. An important part of this thesis is a critical review on the possibilities of different models for numerical analysis of steel frames with masonry infill, as well as systematization of influence parameters conducted through extensive parametric study. Based on results acquired through this paper a new method of practical design of steel frames with masonry infill that is consisted of different elements is presented.

Daje se pregled relevantnih parametara u seizmičkom proračunu čeličnih i spregnutih konstrukcija prema EN 1998-1:2004. Ti su propisi još uvijek bazirani na dokazivanju čvrstoće (nosivosti) dok se kontrola deformacija provodi naknadno, iako bi za ovaj slučaj opterećenja obrnuti postupak bio primjereniji. Stoga je, kao prijelazno i kompromisno rješenje u sadašnjoj verziji propisa uveden faktor ponašanja q koji ima centralnu ulogu u povezivanju tradicionalnog načina inženjerskog razmišljanja i korištenja propisa s novim pristupima i saznanjima koja se više ne mogu zanemarivati u proračunu konstrukcija. Inženjer stoga mora voditi računa da se pretpostavljena razina duktilnosti može u realnoj konstrukciji i ostvariti, te je određivanje faktora ponašanja q ali i još nekih relevantnih parametara seizmičkog proračuna čeličnih i spregnutih konstrukcija kao što faktor viška nosivosti materijala (ov), parametar plastične preraspodjele (u/1), faktor viška nosivosti nosača i sl. vrlo važno, budući da oni imaju značajan utjecaj na točnost rezultata proračuna.

U članku su obrađene novosti i perspektive u invazivnom liječenju u vertebrologiji s naglaskom na interventne i poluinvazivne postupke te minimalno invazivnu kirurgiju u liječenju hernije intervertebralnog diska slabinske kralježnice. Osim toga opisane su novosti u neuroablativnim postupcima u liječenju križobolje, fiksaciji kralježnice i operativnom liječenju skolioza. Članak se osvrće i na metode koje se još ne primjenjuju kod nas, a koje dosta obećavaju kao što su rekonstrukcije nukleusa pulpozusa transplantacijom autolognih hondrocita, a prikazane su najnovije spoznaje u kirurgiji vratne kralježnice. Upozoreno je na uspješnost svake pojedine kirurške metode liječenja. Osim što je informativan, zajedno s odgovarajućim člankom o patofiziologiji spinalne boli, magnetskoj rezonanciji i konzervativnom liječenju ovaj tematski članak o najnovijim spoznajama u tom području može pomoći u pristupu bolesnicima.

49. Design and FEM modelling of steel truss girder joints

This paper critically presents the codified design of joints in steel truss girders, according to the latest european norms [1, 2] , as contemporary norms in which this issue is included and processed in detail for the first time. Rules in [2] are based on simplified analytical models in combination with experimental research, so the regulations consist of semi-empirical calculation formulae which are valid in limited conditions. Thus, in engineering practice it is required to take care of parameters which affect the global or local behaviour of truss girder such as secondary bending moments, bending moments resulting from eccentric member joints, and joint deformability, so this paper gives distinct attention to these effects. Typical truss girder behaviour modelling modes using finite element method (FEM) are illustratred so to predict their values, and take them in the final estimate if needed. The steel truss girder made of hollow rectangular sections with welded joints is reviewed in detail and numerically exemplified. The accuracies are compared and recommendations are given for the application of each model.

Nove europske norme za proračun čeličnih konstrukcija [1] ne sadrže proračunski tretman saćastih nosača. Stoga inženjeri proračune ovih nosača provode odgovarajućim metodama (npr. MKE). Jedna od specifičnosti proračuna saćastih nosača je i bočno-torzijsko izvijanje, koje se također može javiti kao mogući način otkazivanja nosivosti. U radu je obrađena opća problematika bočnog-torzijskog izvijanja, te aspekt nelinearnog modeliranja saćastih nosača prema preporukama navedenim u [1]. Na numeričkom primjeru ilustrirana je primjena i jedne i druge metode.
