Flexible endoscopes are commonly adopted in narrow and confined anatomical cavities due to their higher reachability and dexterity. However, prolonged and unintuitive manipulation of these endoscopes leads to an increased workload on surgeons and risks of collision. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a CT-guided control framework for the diagnosis of maxillary sinusitis by using a robotic flexible endoscope. In the CT-guided control framework, a feasible path to the target position in the maxillary sinus cavity for the robotic flexible endoscope is designed. Besides, an optimal control scheme is proposed to autonomously control the robotic flexible endoscope to follow the feasible path. This greatly improves the efficiency and reduces the workload for surgeons. Several experiments were conducted based on a widely utilized sinus phantom, and the results showed that the robotic flexible endoscope can accurately and autonomously follow the feasible path and reach the target position in the maxillary sinus cavity. The results also verified the feasibility of the CT-guided control framework, which contributes an effective approach to early diagnosis of sinusitis in the future.

Large language models (LLMs), although having revolutionized many fields, still suffer from the challenging extrapolation problem, where the inference ability of LLMs sharply declines beyond their max training lengths. In this work, we conduct a theoretical analysis to better understand why No Position Encoding (NoPE) fails outside its effective range, as well as examining the power of Position Encoding (PE) in this context. Our findings reveal that with meticulous weave position, PE can indeed be extended beyond effective range. Our theorems establish that LLMs equipped with weave PE can achieve improved extrapolation performance without additional cost. Furthermore, we introduce a novel weave PE method, Mesa-Extrapolation, which utilizes a chunk-based triangular attention matrix and applies Stair PE to manage the final chunk. This method not only retains competitive performance but also offers substantial benefits such as significantly reduced memory demand and faster inference speed. Extensive experiments validate the effectiveness of Mesa-Extrapolation, demonstrating its potential as a scalable solution to enhancing LLMs applicative reach. Current flight procedure design methods heavily rely on human-led design process, which is not only low auto-mation but also suffer from complex algorithm modelling and poor generalization. To address these challenges, this paper proposes an agent-driven flight procedure design method based on large language model, named Au-toFPDesigner, which utilizes multi-agent collaboration to complete procedure design. The method enables end-to-end automated design of performance-based navigation (PBN) procedures. In this process, the user input the design requirements in natural language, AutoFPDesigner models the flight procedure design by loading the design speci-fications and utilizing tool libraries complete the design. AutoFPDesigner allows users to oversee and seamlessly participate in the design process. Experimental results show that AutoFPDesigner ensures nearly 100% safety in the designed flight procedures and achieves 75% task completion rate, with good adaptability across different design tasks. AutoFPDesigner introduces a new paradigm for flight procedure design and represents a key step towards the automation of this process. Superoscillation (SO) wavefunctions, that locally oscillate much faster than its fastest Fourier component, in light waves have enhanced optical technologies beyond diffraction limits, but never been controlled into 2D periodic lattices. Here, we report the 2D superoscillation lattices (SOL) with controlled symmetries, where the local wavevector can be 700 times larger than the global maximal wavevector (k0) in a localized region 100 times smaller than the global minimal wavelength ({\lambda}0). We also demonstrate the superoscillation superlattices (SOSL) as twisted bilayer Moir\'e patterns of two SOL, akin to the magic angle tuning in advanced twistronics, we can continually tune the ondemand SO with local maximal wavevector in a range of 450k0 to 700k0 and with {\lambda}0/100 to{\lambda}0/1000. Simulated patient systems play a crucial role in modern medical education and research, providing safe, integrative learning environments and enabling clinical decision-making simulations. Large Language Models (LLM) could advance simulated patient systems by replicating medical conditions and patient-doctor interactions with high fidelity and low cost. However, ensuring the effectiveness and trustworthiness of these systems remains a challenge, as they require a large, diverse, and precise patient knowledgebase, along with a robust and stable knowledge diffusion to users. Here, we developed AIPatient, an advanced simulated patient system with AIPatient Knowledge Graph (AIPatient KG) as the input and the Reasoning Retrieval-Augmented Generation (Reasoning RAG) agentic workflow as the generation backbone. AIPatient KG samples data from Electronic Health Records (EHRs) in the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care (MIMIC)-III database, producing a clinically diverse and relevant cohort of 1,495 patients with high knowledgebase validity (F1 0.89). Reasoning RAG leverages six LLM powered agents spanning tasks including retrieval, KG query generation, abstraction, checker, rewrite, and summarization. This agentic framework reaches an overall accuracy of 94.15% in EHR-based medical Question Answering (QA), outperforming benchmarks that use either no agent or only partial agent integration. Our system also presents high readability (median Flesch Reading Ease 77.23; median Flesch Kincaid Grade 5.6), robustness (ANOVA F-value 0.6126, p>0.1), and stability (ANOVA F-value 0.782, p>0.1). Accurate power load forecasting is crucial for improving energy efficiency and ensuring power supply quality. Considering the power load forecasting problem involves not only dynamic factors like historical load variations but also static factors such as climate conditions that remain constant over specific periods. From the model-agnostic perspective, this paper proposes a parallel structure network to extract important information from both dynamic and static data. Firstly, based on complexity learning theory, it is demonstrated that models integrated through parallel structures exhibit superior generalization abilities compared to individual base learners. Additionally, the higher the independence between base learners, the stronger the generalization ability of the parallel structure model. This suggests that the structure of machine learning models inherently contains significant information. Building on this theoretical foundation, a parallel convolutional neural network (CNN)-gate recurrent unit (GRU) attention model (PCGA) is employed to address the power load forecasting issue, aiming to effectively integrate the influences of dynamic and static features. The CNN module is responsible for capturing spatial characteristics from static data, while the GRU module captures long-term dependencies in dynamic time series data. The attention layer is designed to focus on key information from the spatial-temporal features extracted by the parallel CNN-GRU. To substantiate the advantages of the parallel structure model in extracting and integrating multi-source information, a series of experiments are conducted.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a rapidly growing neurodevelopmental disorder. Performing a timely intervention is crucial for the growth of young children with ASD, but traditional clinical screening methods lack objectivity. This study introduces an innovative approach to early detection of ASD. The contributions are threefold. First, this work proposes a novel Parent-Child Dyads Block-Play (PCB) protocol, grounded in kinesiological and neuroscientific research, to identify behavioral patterns distinguishing ASD from typically developing (TD) toddlers. Second, we have compiled a substantial video dataset, featuring 40 ASD and 89 TD toddlers engaged in block play with parents. This dataset exceeds previous efforts on both the scale of participants and the length of individual sessions. Third, our approach to action analysis in videos employs a hybrid deep learning framework, integrating a two-stream graph convolution network with attention-enhanced xLSTM (2sGCN-AxLSTM). This framework is adept at capturing dynamic interactions between toddlers and parents by extracting spatial features correlated with upper body and head movements and focusing on global contextual information of action sequences over time. By learning these global features with spatio-temporal correlations, our 2sGCN-AxLSTM effectively analyzes dynamic human behavior patterns and demonstrates an unprecedented accuracy of 89.6\% in early detection of ASD. Diffusion models have achieved great progress in image animation due to powerful generative capabilities. However, maintaining spatio-temporal consistency with detailed information from the input static image over time (e.g., style, background, and object of the input static image) and ensuring smoothness in animated video narratives guided by textual prompts still remains challenging. In this paper, we introduce Cinemo, a novel image animation approach towards achieving better motion controllability, as well as stronger temporal consistency and smoothness. In general, we propose three effective strategies at the training and inference stages of Cinemo to accomplish our goal. At the training stage, Cinemo focuses on learning the distribution of motion residuals, rather than directly predicting subsequent via a motion diffusion model. Additionally, a structural similarity index-based strategy is proposed to enable Cinemo to have better controllability of motion intensity. At the inference stage, a noise refinement technique based on discrete cosine transformation is introduced to mitigate sudden motion changes. Such three strategies enable Cinemo to produce highly consistent, smooth, and motion-controllable results. Compared to previous methods, Cinemo offers simpler and more precise user controllability. Using 286 research papers collected from Web of Science, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, arXiv, and Google Scholar databases, a systematic review methodology was adopted to review and summarize the current challenges and potential future developments in data, algorithms, and evaluation aspects of RSs. It was found that RSs involve five major research topics, namely algorithmic improvement, domain applications, user behavior & cognition, data processing & modeling, and social impact & ethics. Collaborative filtering and hybrid recommendation techniques are mainstream. The performance of RSs is jointly limited by four types of eight data issues, two types of twelve algorithmic issues, and two evaluation issues. Notably, data-related issues such as cold start, data sparsity, and data poisoning, algorithmic issues like interest drift, device-cloud collaboration, non-causal driven, and multitask conflicts, along with evaluation issues such as offline data leakage and multi-objective balancing, have prominent impacts. Fusing physiological signals for multimodal modeling, defending against data poisoning through user information behavior, evaluating generative recommendations via social experiments, fine-tuning pre-trained large models to schedule device-cloud resource, enhancing causal inference with deep reinforcement learning, training multi-task models based on probability distributions, using cross-temporal dataset partitioning, and evaluating recommendation objectives across the full lifecycle are feasible solutions to address the aforementioned prominent challenges and unlock the power and value of RSs.The collected literature is mainly based on major international databases, and future research will further expand upon it., Comment: 24 pages, 10 figures, 3 tables

The notion of almost elementariness for a locally compact Hausdorff \'{e}tale groupoid $\mathcal{G}$ with a compact unit space was introduced by the authors as a sufficient condition ensuring the reduced groupoid $C^*$-algebra $C^*_r(\mathcal{G})$ is (tracially) $\mathcal{Z}$-stable and thus classifiable under additional natural assumption. In this paper, we explore the converse direction and show that many groupoids in the literature serving as models for classifiable $C^*$-algebras are almost elementary. In particular, for a large class $\mathcal{C}$ of Elliott invariants and a $C^*$-algebra $A$ with $\operatorname{Ell}(A)\in \mathcal{C}$, we show that $A$ is classifiable if and only if $A$ possesses a minimal, effective, amenable, second countable, almost elementary groupoid model, which leads to a groupoid-theoretic characterization of classifiability of $C^*$-algebras with certain Elliott invariants. Moreover, we build a connection between almost elementariness and pure infiniteness for groupoids and study obstructions to obtaining a transformation groupoid model for the Jiang-Su algebra $\mathcal{Z}$.

Large language models (LLMs) have performed remarkably well in various natural language processing tasks by benchmarking, including in the Western medical domain. However, the professional evaluation benchmarks for LLMs have yet to be covered in the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) domain, which has a profound history and vast influence. To address this research gap, we introduce TCM-Bench, an comprehensive benchmark for evaluating LLM performance in TCM. It comprises the TCM-ED dataset, consisting of 5,473 questions sourced from the TCM Licensing Exam (TCMLE), including 1,300 questions with authoritative analysis. It covers the core components of TCMLE, including TCM basis and clinical practice. To evaluate LLMs beyond accuracy of question answering, we propose TCMScore, a metric tailored for evaluating the quality of answers generated by LLMs for TCM related questions. It comprehensively considers the consistency of TCM semantics and knowledge. After conducting comprehensive experimental analyses from diverse perspectives, we can obtain the following findings: (1) The unsatisfactory performance of LLMs on this benchmark underscores their significant room for improvement in TCM. (2) Introducing domain knowledge can enhance LLMs' performance. However, for in-domain models like ZhongJing-TCM, the quality of generated analysis text has decreased, and we hypothesize that their fine-tuning process affects the basic LLM capabilities. (3) Traditional metrics for text generation quality like Rouge and BertScore are susceptible to text length and surface semantic ambiguity, while domain-specific metrics such as TCMScore can further supplement and explain their evaluation results. Assessing the emissions of plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) operations is crucial for accelerating the carbon-neutral transition in the passenger car sector. This study is the first to adopt a bottom-up model to measure the real-world energy use and carbon dioxide emissions of China's top twenty selling PHEV models across different regions from 2020 to 2022. The results indicate that (1) the actual electricity intensity of the best-selling PHEV models (20.2-38.2 kWh/100 km) was 30-40% higher than the New European Driving Cycle values, and the actual gasoline intensity (4.7-23.5 L/100 km) was 3-6 times greater than the New European Driving Cycle values. (2) The overall energy use of the best-selling models varied among different regions, and the energy use from 2020 to 2022 in Southern China was double that Northern China and the Yangtze River Middle Reach. (3) The top-selling models emitted 4.7 megatons of carbon dioxide nationwide from 2020 to 2022, with 1.9 megatons released by electricity consumption and 2.8 megatons released by gasoline combustion. Furthermore, targeted policy implications for expediting the carbon-neutral transition within the passenger car sector are proposed. In essence, this study explores and compares benchmark data at both the national and regional levels, along with performance metrics associated with PHEV operations. Depth position highly affects lens distortion, especially in close-range photography, which limits the measurement accuracy of existing stereo vision systems. Moreover, traditional depth-dependent distortion models and their calibration methods have remained complicated. In this work, we propose a minimal set of parameters based depth-dependent distortion model (MDM), which considers the radial and decentering distortions of the lens to improve the accuracy of stereo vision systems and simplify their calibration process. In addition, we present an easy and flexible calibration method for the MDM of stereo vision systems with a commonly used planar pattern, which requires cameras to observe the planar pattern in different orientations. The proposed technique is easy to use and flexible compared with classical calibration techniques for depth-dependent distortion models in which the lens must be perpendicular to the planar pattern. The experimental validation of the MDM and its calibration method showed that the MDM improved the calibration accuracy by 56.55% and 74.15% compared with the Li's distortion model and traditional Brown's distortion model. Besides, an iteration-based reconstruction method is proposed to iteratively estimate the depth information in the MDM during three-dimensional reconstruction. Large Language Models (LLMs) have rapidly become important tools in Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI), enabling new ways to analyze data, treat patients, and conduct research. This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of LLM applications in BHI, highlighting their transformative potential and addressing the associated ethical and practical challenges. We reviewed 1,698 research articles from January 2022 to December 2023, categorizing them by research themes and diagnostic categories. Additionally, we conducted network analysis to map scholarly collaborations and research dynamics. Our findings reveal a substantial increase in the potential applications of LLMs to a variety of BHI tasks, including clinical decision support, patient interaction, and medical document analysis. Notably, LLMs are expected to be instrumental in enhancing the accuracy of diagnostic tools and patient care protocols. The network analysis highlights dense and dynamically evolving collaborations across institutions, underscoring the interdisciplinary nature of LLM research in BHI. A significant trend was the application of LLMs in managing specific disease categories such as mental health and neurological disorders, demonstrating their potential to influence personalized medicine and public health strategies. LLMs hold promising potential to further transform biomedical research and healthcare delivery. While promising, the ethical implications and challenges of model validation call for rigorous scrutiny to optimize their benefits in clinical settings. We theoretically propose Ac$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$, La$_2$BaNi$_2$O$_6$F, and La$_2$SrNi$_2$O$_6$F compounds to be benchmark materials for bilayer nickelate superconductivity. The stable phase of Ac$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$ and La$_2$BaNi$_2$O$_6$F are found to be $I4/mmm$ without the lattice distortion caused by octahedra rotation at ambient pressure, where as the lattice distortion in La$_2$SrNi$_2$O$_6$F can be suppressed with relatively small external pressure of 4 GPa. The magnetism, electronic structure and spin susceptibilities of Ac$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$ are extremely close to those of La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$ at 30 GPa. The ground state of La$_2$BaNi$_2$O$_6$F and La$_2$SrNi$_2$O$_6$F are antiferromagnetically coupled checkerboard bilayer with sizable magnetic moment on Ni. In addition, the inter-layer coupling $J_{\perp}$ between Ni-bilayers in La$_2$BaNi$_2$O$_6$F or La$_2$SrNi$_2$O$_6$F is only $\sim$ 1/10 of that in Ac$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$ or La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$ at 30 GPa. We argue that these compounds may serve as superconducting candidates at ambient pressure and can be employed to testify theoretical proposals for bilayer nickelate superconductivity.

Understanding the reasoning capabilities of Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) is an important area of research. In this study, we introduce a dynamic benchmark, NPHardEval4V, aimed at addressing the existing gaps in evaluating the pure reasoning abilities of MLLMs. Our benchmark aims to provide a venue to disentangle the effect of various factors such as image recognition and instruction following, from the overall performance of the models, allowing us to focus solely on evaluating their reasoning abilities. It is built by converting textual description of questions from NPHardEval to image representations. Our findings reveal significant discrepancies in reasoning abilities across different models and highlight the relatively weak performance of MLLMs compared to LLMs in terms of reasoning. We also investigate the impact of different prompting styles, including visual, text, and combined visual and text prompts, on the reasoning abilities of MLLMs, demonstrating the different impacts of multimodal inputs in model performance. Unlike traditional benchmarks, which focus primarily on static evaluations, our benchmark will be updated monthly to prevent overfitting and ensure a more authentic and fine-grained evaluation of the models. In robotic deformable object manipulation (DOM) applications, constraints arise commonly from environments and task-specific requirements. Enabling DOM with constraints is therefore crucial for its deployment in practice. However, dealing with constraints turns out to be challenging due to many inherent factors such as inaccessible deformation models of deformable objects (DOs) and varying environmental setups. This article presents a systematic manipulation framework for DOM subject to constraints by proposing a novel path set planning and tracking scheme. First, constrained DOM tasks are formulated into a versatile optimization formalism which enables dynamic constraint imposition. Because of the lack of the local optimization objective and high state dimensionality, the formulated problem is not analytically solvable. To address this, planning of the path set, which collects paths of DO feedback points, is proposed subsequently to offer feasible path and motion references for DO in constrained setups. Both theoretical analyses and computationally efficient algorithmic implementation of path set planning are discussed. Lastly, a control architecture combining path set tracking and constraint handling is designed for task execution. It is intriguing to explore the coexistence and (or) competition between charge-density-wave (CDW) and superconductivity (SC) in many correlated electron systems, such as cuprates, organic superconductors and dichacolgenides. Among them, the recently discovered $\mathbb{Z} _2$ topological kagome metals AV$_3$Sb$_5$ (A=K, Rb, Cs) serve as an ideal platform to study the intricate relation between them. Here, we report the electrical resistance measurements on CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ thin flakes ($\approx$ 60 nm) under hydrostatic pressure up to 2.12 GPa to compare its pressure phase diagram of CDW and SC with its bulk form. Even though the CDW transition temperature (T$_{CDW}$) in CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ thin flakes is still monotonically suppressed under pressure and totally vanishes at P$_2$=1.83 GPa similar to the bulk, the superconducting transition temperature (T$_c$) shows an initial decrease and consequent increase up to its maximum $\sim$ 8.03 K at P$_2$, in sharp contrast with the M-shaped double domes in the bulk CsV$_3$Sb$_5$. Our results suggest the important role of reduced dimensionality on the CDW state and its interplay with the SC, offering a new perspective to explore the exotic nature of CsV$_3$Sb$_5$., Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures

By accurately measuring composition and energy spectrum of cosmic ray, the origin problem of so called "keen" region (energy > 1 PeV) can be solved. However, up to the present, the results of the spectrum in the knee region obtained by several previous experiments have shown obvious differences, so they cannot give effective evidence for judging the theoretical models on the origin of the knee. Recently, the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) has reported several major breakthroughs and important results in astro-particle physics field. Relying on its advantages of wide-sky survey, high altitude location and large area detector arrays, the research content of LHAASO experiment mainly includes ultra high-energy gamma-ray astronomy, measurement of cosmic ray spectra in the knee region, searching for dark matter and new phenomena of particle physics at higher energy. The electron and Thermal Neutron detector (EN-Detector) is a new scintillator detector which applies thermal neutron detection technology to measure cosmic ray extensive air shower (EAS). This technology is an extension of LHAASO. The EN-Detector Array (ENDA) can highly efficiently measure thermal neutrons generated by secondary hadrons so called "skeleton" of EAS. In this paper, we perform the optimization of ENDA configuration, and obtain expectations on the ENDA results, including thermal neutron distribution, trigger efficiency and capability of cosmic ray composition separation. The obtained real data results are consistent with those by the Monte Carlo simulation.

We propose a novel Latent Diffusion Transformer, namely Latte, for video generation. Latte first extracts spatio-temporal tokens from input videos and then adopts a series of Transformer blocks to model video distribution in the latent space. In order to model a substantial number of tokens extracted from videos, four efficient variants are introduced from the perspective of decomposing the spatial and temporal dimensions of input videos. To improve the quality of generated videos, we determine the best practices of Latte through rigorous experimental analysis, including video clip patch embedding, model variants, timestep-class information injection, temporal positional embedding, and learning strategies. Our comprehensive evaluation demonstrates that Latte achieves state-of-the-art performance across four standard video generation datasets, i.e., FaceForensics, SkyTimelapse, UCF101, and Taichi-HD. In addition, we extend Latte to text-to-video generation (T2V) task, where Latte achieves comparable results compared to recent T2V models. The escalating global issue of plastic waste accumulation, specifically polyolefins, necessitates an urgent solution for upcycling these materials into beneficial compounds. Yet, achieving such upcycling without introducing carbon dioxide into the environment remains a formidable challenge. In this study, we demonstrate an eco-friendly approach for the photochemical conversion of ultrastrong, ultratransparent, and ultrathin polyethylene membrane into fibrous carbon nanomembrane at ambient conditions. The membrane was sputter-coated with platinum and cuprous oxide nanoparticles and exposed to simulated sunlight, resulting in a porous carbon membrane decorated with Pt nanoparticles. The new carbonized nanomembrane maintained the pristine membrane's morphology. The membrane exhibited high activity (2.11 mA/cm2) for electrochemical ethanol oxidation with stability over 1000 cycles. This work holds significance for sustainable plastic waste management and the design of new polyolefin materials in a circular economy.

Variable scene layouts and coexisting objects across scenes make indoor scene recognition still a challenging task. Leveraging object information within scenes to enhance the distinguishability of feature representations has emerged as a key approach in this domain. Currently, most object-assisted methods use a separate branch to process object information, combining object and scene features heuristically. However, few of them pay attention to interpretably handle the hidden discriminative knowledge within object information. In this paper, we propose to leverage discriminative object knowledge to enhance scene feature representations. Initially, we capture the object-scene discriminative relationships from a probabilistic perspective, which are transformed into an Inter-Object Discriminative Prototype (IODP). Given the abundant prior knowledge from IODP, we subsequently construct a Discriminative Graph Network (DGN), in which pixel-level scene features are defined as nodes and the discriminative relationships between node features are encoded as edges. DGN aims to incorporate inter-object discriminative knowledge into the image representation through graph convolution and mapping operations (GCN). With the proposed IODP and DGN, we obtain state-of-the-art results on several widely used scene datasets, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

In this paper, we study almost finiteness and almost finiteness in measure of non-free actions. Let $\alpha:G\curvearrowright X$ be a minimal action of a locally finite-by-virtually $\mathbb{Z}$ group $G$ on the Cantor set $X$. We prove that under certain assumptions, the action $\alpha$ is almost finite in measure if and only if $\alpha$ is essentially free. As an application, we obtain that any minimal topologically free action of a virtually $\mathbb{Z}$ group on an infinite compact metrizable space with the small boundary property is almost finite. This is the first general result, assuming only topological freeness, in this direction, and these lead to new results on uniform property $\Gamma$ and $\mathcal{Z}$-stability for their crossed product $C^*$-algebras. After hypercharge $Y$, isospin $I$, isospin projection $I_3$, and four flavour quantum numbers ($S$, $C$, $B^*$ and $T$), weak isospin $I_{w3}$ and weak hypercharge $Y_w$ in the electroweak theory are substituted by fermion quantum number $F$ and unit electroweak charge $F_0$, both of which are conserved in electromagnetic interaction, weak interaction and strong interaction. Electrical charge $Q$ and neutral current weak charge $Q_Z$ in electroweak interaction can be expressed by mixture of $F$ and $F_0$ via the Weinberg angle $\theta_W$. Electroweak interaction is separated into two parts: one is neutral current electroweak interaction which has no change of particle types with only exchange of neutral bosons, and the other is charged current weak interaction which has change of particle types, i.e., decays.

Recently video generation has achieved substantial progress with realistic results. Nevertheless, existing AI-generated videos are usually very short clips ("shot-level") depicting a single scene. To deliver a coherent long video ("story-level"), it is desirable to have creative transition and prediction effects across different clips. This paper presents a short-to-long video diffusion model, SEINE, that focuses on generative transition and prediction. The goal is to generate high-quality long videos with smooth and creative transitions between scenes and varying lengths of shot-level videos. Specifically, we propose a random-mask video diffusion model to automatically generate transitions based on textual descriptions. By providing the images of different scenes as inputs, combined with text-based control, our model generates transition videos that ensure coherence and visual quality. Furthermore, the model can be readily extended to various tasks such as image-to-video animation and autoregressive video prediction. To conduct a comprehensive evaluation of this new generative task, we propose three assessing criteria for smooth and creative transition: temporal consistency, semantic similarity, and video-text semantic alignment. Extensive experiments validate the effectiveness of our approach over existing methods for generative transition and prediction, enabling the creation of story-level long videos. Let $(\mathcal A, \mathcal B, \mathcal C)$ be a recollement of extriangulated categories. In this paper, we provide bounds on the coresolution dimensions of the subcategories involved in $\mathcal A$, $\mathcal B$ and $\mathcal C$. We show that a hereditary cotorsion pair in $\mathcal B$ can induce hereditary cotorsion pairs in $\mathcal A$ and $\mathcal C$ under certain conditions.
