Background. Overexpression of miR-195 can make gastric cancer cells stay in G1/G2 phase. miR-195 has been shown to inhibit gastric cancer cell replication and accelerate cell death by targeting JAK2. However, the relationship between miR-195, JAK2, and gastric cancer is not clear. Objective. To observe the effect of mir-195 regulated by JAK2 on the growth, invasion, and death of gastric cancer cells. Methods. MGC803 and NCI gastric N87 cells were introduced into the negative control sequences of miR-195 and RNA, respectively. To detect the expression of miR-195 in cells, to detect the effect of miR-195 on mitosis and proliferation of tumor cells, to analyze the effect of miR-195 on cell invasion and metastasis, and to detect the regulation of miR-195 on JAK2 expression. Results. The level of miR-195 in miR-195-MIMICS group was significantly higher than that in miR-NC group. The cell survival rate of miR-195 mimic group was lower than that of miR-NC group ( P < 0.05 ). Compared with miR-NC group, the number of cells in G1 phase increased, the cells in G2 phase and S phase decreased, and the proportion of cells in G2 and S phase decreased in miR-195 mimic group. The scratch distance of miR-195 simulator group was larger than that of control group. The number of invasive cells in the miR-195 mimic group was significantly lower than that in the control group. The expression of JAK2 protein in miR-195 mimic group was lower than that in miR-NC group. There was a significant negative correlation between the expression level of miR-195 and JAK2 (rhabdomile 0.326 and record 0.00). There are continuous interaction fragments between JAK2 and miR-195. The luciferase activity of miR-195 mimic and wild type JAK2 sequence expression vector was significantly lower than that of wild type JAK2 sequence expression vector. Conclusion. miR-195 may inhibit the occurrence, metastasis, and invasion of gastric tumor by downregulating the expression of JAK2. miR-195/JAK2 may be a new molecular target for the treatment of gastrointestinal tumors.

ObjectiveHypoxia-inducible factor 1alpha (HIF-1α) functions as a crucial transcriptional mediator in hypoxic and ischemic brain response. We endeavored to assess the prognostic significance of serum HIF-1α in human aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH).MethodsIn this prospective, longitudinal, multicenter, and observational study of 257 patients with aSAH and 100 healthy controls, serum HIF-1α levels were quantified. Univariate analyses, followed by multivariate analyses, were performed to discern the relationship between serum HIF-1α levels and severity and delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI) plus poststroke 6-month poor outcome [extended Glasgow outcome scale (GOSE) scores of 1–4]. Predictive efficiency was determined under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve.ResultsThere were significantly increased serum HIF-lα levels after aSAH, in comparison to controls (median, 288.0 vs. 102.6 pg/ml; P < 0.001). Serum HIF-lα levels were independently correlated with Hunt–Hess scores [β, 78.376; 95% confidence interval (CI): 56.446–100.305; P = 0.001] and modified Fisher scores (β, 52.037; 95% CI: 23.461–80.614; P = 0.002). Serum HIF-lα levels displayed significant efficiency for discriminating DCI risk [area under ROC curve (AUC), 0.751; 95% CI: 0.687–0.815; P < 0.001] and poor outcome (AUC, 0.791; 95% CI: 0.736–0.846; P < 0.001). Using the Youden method, serum HIF-1α levels >229.3 pg/ml predicted the development of DCI with 92.3% sensitivity and 48.4% specificity and serum HIF-1α levels >384.0 pg/ml differentiated the risk of a poor prognosis with 71.4% sensitivity and 81.1% specificity. Serum HIF-1α levels >229.3 pg/ml were independently predictive of DCI [odds ratio (OR), 3.061; 95% CI: 1.045–8.965; P = 0.041] and serum HIF-1α levels >384.0 pg/ml were independently associated with a poor outcome (OR, 2.907; 95% CI: 1.403–6.024; P = 0.004). The DCI predictive ability of their combination was significantly superior to those of Hunt–Hess scores (AUC, 0.800; 95% CI: 0.745–0.855; P = 0.039) and modified Fisher scores (AUC, 0.784; 95% CI: 0.726–0.843; P = 0.004). The prognostic predictive ability of their combination substantially exceeded those of Hunt–Hess scores (AUC, 0.839; 95% CI: 0.791–0.886; P < 0.001) and modified Fisher scores (AUC, 0.844; 95% CI: 0.799–0.890; P < 0.001).ConclusionElevated serum HIF-lα levels after aSAH, in independent correlation with stroke severity, were independently associated with DCI and 6-month poor outcome, substantializing serum HIF-lα as a potential prognostic biomarker of aSAH.

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a gram-negative bacterial microbiological carcinogen, has been identified as the leading jeopardy feature for developing human gastric cancer (GC). As a result, inhibiting H. pylori growth has been identified as an effective and critical technique for preventing GC development. In this study, geraniol inhibits H. pylori-induced gastric carcinogen signalling in human gastric epithelial cells (GES-1). Geraniol prevents cytotoxicity, ROS and apoptosis in H. pylori-induced GES-1 cells. Furthermore, geraniol protects against H. -induced antioxidant depletion caused by malondialdehyde, damage of reactive DNA and nuclear fragmentation. Geraniol significantly reduced the expression of phosphorylated mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPKs) proteins such as p38 MAPK, extracellular signal-regulated kinase-1 (ERK1), c-Jun N-terminal kinase (c-JNK), tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in GES-1 infected with H. pylori. Furthermore, geraniol increased the antioxidant protein peroxiredoxin-1 (Prdx-1) in H. pylori-infected cells. Geraniol thus protects H. pylori-concomitant infection, and its resistance may be a possible method in preventing gastric cancer caused by H. pylori.

Integration of high ceramic yield, low shrinkage and excellent fracture toughness in polymer-derived ceramics (PDCs) is challenging. Highly cross-linked polycarbosilane-vinyltriethoxysilane-graphene oxide (PCS-VTES-GO, PVG) precursors spontaneously interact with dense high-strength SiC(rGO)p fillers for abundant Si-dangling bonds at their interfaces. Herein, an ingenious strategy via re-pyrolysis process of ball-milling-induced SiC(rGO)p/PVG blends is proposed to fabricate 3D-SiC(rGO)px PDCs. The in-situ formed innovative three-dimensional (3D) honeycomb cellular net-like structure, with dense β-SiC(SiO2)/SiOxCy/Cfree(rGO) framework providing high strength while tiny micro-sized pores relaxing stress at the tip, effectively improves molding process, ceramic yield and mechanical properties of PDCs. Particularly, lightweight 3D-SiC(rGO)p0.6 PDCs display dense surface, satisfactory hardness (3.96 GPa) and excellent fracture toughness (3.21 MPa m1/2), especially high ceramic yield (94.49%) and low linear shrinkage (5.00%), realizing outstanding values ever reported for PDCs to the best of our knowledge. During re-pyrolysis process, they have struck perfect balance and achieved a combination of equal volume of inwardly shrinking PVG precursors and outwardly expanding SiC(rGO)p fillers. For the first time, such synergistic effects of flexible PVG with rigid SiC(rGO)p in this way pave a practical route toward reliable mass-produced 3D-SiC(rGO)px PDCs with potential applications in emerging aerospace propulsion components.

Early diagnosis of gastric cancer is difficult in China due to the lack of a valid method for endoscopic screening. Early gastric cancer, especially flat gastric cancer, lacks specific endoscopic features. Many cases appear to be similar to ordinary gastritis cases under normal white light endoscopy, which can lead to misdiagnosis. In order to find a new method to improve detection rate of early gastric cancer in China, we designed a trial to validate linked color imaging (LCI) for screening of early gastric cancer in a high-risk population, as compared to white light imaging (WLI). Subjects were randomly allocated to either the LCI + WLI or WLI group and then subjected to gastroscopy and all endoscopies were made after special preparation. All endoscopists had knowledge of this experiment. The main indicator was the rate of detection of gastric neoplastic lesions. The difference in the detection rate between the two groups is reported. The detection rate was 4.31% in the WLI group and 8.01% in the LCI + WLI group. This is a difference of 3.70% with a P value

A weld cracking of the outlet pipe occurred during the operation of a low-pressure steam super-heater in the purification device. It was found that many cracks were perpendicular to the weld, which affected the equipment safe operation. In order to investigate the failure cause, the samples containing weld and cracks in the outlet pipe were cut. The experiments, including chemical composition analysis, mechanical properties testing, scanning electron microscope observation, energy spectrum analysis and metallographic analysis, were performed. The results showed that the corrosion products had loose structure, mainly consisting of iron, sodium and phosphorus oxides. The metallographic results of the fracture section indicated that there existed a mixed cracks of trans-granular and inter-granular mode, along with stepped crack characteristics. Therefore, it is believed that the weld transverse cracking in the outlet pipe may be resulted by both of alkali stress corrosion cracking and the hydrogen induced cracking. According to the failure cause analysis, the corresponding suggestions are given, such as welding, operation process and inspection.

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) recurrence remains a significant public health concern. The study aimed to assess H. pylori reinfection rate and identify its risk factors in China. This prospective open cohort, observational study was performed at 18 hospitals across 15 provinces in China. Consecutive patients who received the successful initial eradication during 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2018 were eligible for enrolment. H. pylori recurrence was defined as reinfection that occurred at more than the 12-month interval after successful initial eradication. Surveyed risk factors that might be associated with reinfection were preliminarily estimated by log-rank test and further determined by Cox regression model to calculate the hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). A total of 5193 subjects enrolled in the study. The follow-up intervals varied from 6 to 84 months with a general follow-up rate of 67.9%. Annual reinfection rate was 1.5% (95% CI: 1.2–1.8) per person-year. H. pylori reinfection was independently associated with the following five risk factors: minority groups (HR = 4.7, 95% CI: 1.6–13.9), the education at lower levels (HR = 1.7, 95% CI: 1.1–2.6), a family history of gastric cancer (HR = 9.9, 95% CI: 6.6–14.7), and the residence located in Western China (HR = 5.5, 95% CI: 2.6–11.5) following by in Central China (HR = 4.9, 95% CI: 3–8.1) (all P

Studies have found that miR-665 acted as a tumor suppressor or an oncogene in different malignancies. miR-665 expression was elevated in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues; however, its role and mechanism in this disease are not fully clarified. The expression of miR-665 and its target gene was detected in human gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and cells. Moreover, we analyzed the effects of miR-665 on the proliferation, migration, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of gastric adenocarcinoma cells as well as tumor growth in vivo. The mechanisms of miR-665 in gastric adenocarcinoma were investigated by using molecular biology techniques. We found miR-665 was upregulated and suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3) was downregulated in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and cells. Elevated miR-665 was positively correlated with tumor size, lymph node metastasis, invasion depth, TNM stage, and poor differentiation in gastric adenocarcinoma patients. Overexpression of miR-665 promoted, whereas knockdown of miR-665 suppressed the proliferation, migration, and EMT of gastric adenocarcinoma cells. Furthermore, we demonstrated that miR-665 functioned through targeting SOCS3, followed by activation of the FAK/Src signaling pathway in gastric adenocarcinoma cells. miR-665 antagomir inhibited tumor growth as well as the activation of the FAK/Src pathway but increased SOCS3 expression in nude mice. In addition, miR-665 expression was negatively regulated by long noncoding RNA maternally expressed gene 3 (MEG3). In conclusion, miR-665 acted as an oncogene in gastric adenocarcinoma by inhibiting SOCS3 followed by activation of the FAK/Src pathway and it was negatively modulated by MEG3. miR-665 may be a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of gastric adenocarcinoma.

Three-point bending specimen with fixed constraints is a novel small specimen test technique, which can simultaneously obtain creep deformation and creep fracture data. However, the current research only focused on the small deformation theoretical analysis, which is contrary to the actual experiment results. In this study, the general deformation theory was introduced to analyze creep deformation behavior of three-point bending specimen with fixed constraints at the large deformation stage. Based on this theory, the equivalent stress and strain were analyzed. Then, the feasibility and accuracy were verified by comparing with the experimental data of A7N01 aluminum alloy at 380 °C. The results show that the regressed creep parameters agree well with those from the uni-axial ones. It can be found that the equivalent stress obtained by the general deformation theory can be well used to life prediction analysis of A7N01 aluminum alloy.

We determined the relationship between serum HIF-1α levels and long-term prognosis plus severity of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).Methods: A total of 97 ICH cases and 97 healthy controls were enrolled. Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score and hematoma volume were used to assess hemorrhagic severity. Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS) score of 1– 3 at post-stroke 90 days was defined as a poor outcome.Results: Serum HIF-1α levels of ICH patients were significantly higher than those of healthy controls (median, 218.8 vs 105.4 pg/mL; P< 0.001) and were substantially correlated with GCS score (r=− 0.485, P< 0.001), hematoma volume (r=0.357, P< 0.001) and GOS score (r=− 0.436, P< 0.001). Serum HIF-1α levels > 239.4 pg/mL discriminated patients at risk of 90-day poor outcome with sensitivity of 65.9% and specificity of 79.3% (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, 0.725; 95% confidence interval, 0.625– 0.811; P< 0.001). Moreover, serum HIF-1α levels > 239.4 pg/mL were independently associated with a poor 90-day outcome (odds ratio, 5.133; 95% confidence interval, 1.117– 23.593; P=0.036).Conclusion: Serum HIF-1α, in close correlation with hemorrhagic severity and poor 90-day outcome, may serve as a potential prognostic biomarker for ICH.Keywords: intracerebral hemorrhage, prognosis, severity, hypoxia-inducible factor 1alpha

Objective The serum glucose/potassium ratio (GPR) is a potential prognostic predictor for acute brain injury-related diseases. We calculated the serum GPR in patients with acute intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and explored its prognostic value for long-term prognoses and ICH severity. Methods This retrospective cohort study consecutively included 92 patients with ICH and 92 healthy controls. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score, Glasgow coma scale (GCS) score, and hematoma volume were used to assess severity. A modified Rankin Scale score > 2 at 90 days post-stroke was defined as a poor outcome. Results The serum GPR was significantly higher in patients than controls. The serum GPR was weakly correlated with the NIHSS score, GCS score, and hematoma volume. The serum GPR, GCS score, and hematoma volume were independently associated with poor outcomes. In the receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, the serum GPR remarkably discriminated patients at risk of poor outcomes at 90 days. The serum GPR significantly improved the prognostic predictive capability of hematoma volume and tended to increase that of the GCS score. Conclusion Serum GPR is an easily obtained clinical variable for predicting clinical outcomes after ICH.

This paper presents recent progress of the development and implementation of the integral transport variational nodal method (VNM) to the neutronics modelling of hexagonal geometry nuclear reactors. In this study, the three-dimensional multi-group neutron transport equation is solved with the variational nodal method utilizing an integral form of the with-in node angular flux distribution to generate response matrices more efficiently. The angular flux distributions on hexagonal nodal interfaces are approximated with even-parity spherical harmonics. The quasi-reflected interface condition (QRIC) method is employed to reduce the number of interfacial angular terms to save computational costs. Parallelization algorithms are accounted to accelerate the response matrix formation process. The newly-implemented methods are examined against the TAKEDA-4 benchmark cases, presenting superior accuracy and efficiency than the standard VNM approach. With the P7 angular approximation, the joint performance of the integral method and the QRIC method yields a remarkable computational time gain of 33.0. Furthermore, an 11-core parallelization to the response matrix formation process results in another 88% reduction in the total computation time.

The enhanced thermal conductivity oxide (ECO) nuclear fuel with BeO is analyzed from the aspect of neutronics. The Westinghouse 17 × 17 pressurized water reactor lattice model is selected as the reference and the influence on the neutronic features of different volume fractions of BeO is investigated by Monte Carlo depletion code Serpent. Results from criticality calculation of fresh fuel and depletion calculation show that increasing the fraction of BeO in the fuel will lead to more penalty on reactivity caused by extra neutron capture while the increasing moderating effect of BeO will increase the reactivity provided by the fuel. The two opposite effects compete with each other to decide the final impact the cycle length. As a result, different amount of enrichment of 235U is needed to maintain the reactivity evaluated in different models. The moderating effect leads to the softening of the spectrum and less accumulation of 239Pu when adding more BeO in the fuel. From the investigation of the radial profile, the spatially self-shielding effect decreased with the increasing of the volume fraction of BeO. Reactivity perturbation analysis show that adding BeO in the fuel causes the moderator coefficient to become less negative, which should be a concern for the reactor safety. In the analysis of the leading assembly with several standard UO2 fuel replaced with UO2-BeO, the pin power distributions of leading assemblies show the power defect at the position of the UO2-BeO fuel.

The application of small specimen testing techniques in the evaluation of creep properties of materials in-service arise. In order to acquire the creep data accurately and conveniently, the bending test with small beam specimens has been proposed and validated for the metal materials. Initially, the fact that material behaves different creep rates under tension and compression is ignored for simplification. Thus, the effect of material property difference on the creep behavior of bending specimen is analyzed in the present paper. On the basis of Norton creep law, the deformation behavior of three type’s specimens under tension and compression is theoretically described. Assumed different creep exponents and constants, finite element models of these beam bending specimens are established. The creep response is simulated. Meanwhile, the effect of material property under different stress state is further investigated. The results show that the stress exponent has a significant effect on the creep curves. Usually, the stress exponent can be evaluated based on the displacement rate or strain rate. However, if large discrepancy of creep properties under tension and compression exits, it will yield disparate results for the steady-state stress exponent. It is suggested that the stress exponent determined solely by bending test should be accepted with a certain degree of reliability, especially for the non-metal materials.

Leakage accidents often occur at the bolted flange joints, which are widely used in the petro-chemical plant. This is mainly resulted by the reduction of bolt force during operation. Therefore, bolt force is very important for sealing performance of the joints in service. Based on the leakage rate parameter, the relationship between the bolt force and gasket stress was derived. Moreover, the leakage rate model was established on the basis of bolt force. With this model, the leakage rate can be directly calculated through the bolt force, and the sealing performance can be evaluated. In order to verify this model, corresponding experiments have been performed. It shows that with the internal pressure increasing, the bolt force increases and the gasket stress reduces. There exists a monotonic relationship between the bolt force and gasket stress. The theoretical gasket stress value corresponds well with the experimental value. The calculated leakage rates for the joints also agree well with the experimental value. Then, it is feasible to evaluate the sealing performance for the bolted flange joints based on the bolt force.

Aiming at the evaluation of creep damage at elevated temperature of ferromagnetic materials in engineering application, the hysteresis loop measurement technology was adopted to study the creep damage behaviour of 1Cr5Mo steel. The creep testing at 600°C/90MPa of 1Cr5Mo steel were carried out to prepare specimens with various degrees of creep damage. The variation of magnetic parameter including coercivity (HC) and remanence (Br) with creep damage was analyzed. The microstructure evolution of 1Cr5Mo steel with different degrees of creep damage was observed by optical microscope. The results show that the coercivity and remanence show certain regularity with creep damage at elevated temperature. Moreover, the regularity is repeatable which indicates that the measurement technology based on magnetic parameters can be used for the evaluation of high temperature creep damage.

A concept of molten salt fast reactor (MSFR) was proposed in EVOL to burn transuranium element discharged from pressurized water reactors. MSFR is featured by fast spectrum and using liquid fuel salt containing UF 4 or ThF 4 . Some issues are presented, for instance, global material arrangement affects the local neutron spectrum due to long neutron free path, and fluoride salt (LiF-BeF 2 ) has nonnegligible thermal neutron scattering effect. Thus, lattice code prepared for thermal-spectrum reactor is not suitable for MSFR calculation. In this study, “two-step” calculation scheme combining Monte Carlo method and deterministic method was prepared for MSFR calculation. A tool named TRANS was developed to transfer tally data from an open source Monte Carlo code OpenMC into few-group homogenized cross-sections, and one benchmark based on pressurized water reactor and two types of model based on MSFR were used for verification. Besides, the applicability of few-group parameters generated by different model to MSFR whole-core calculation was analyzed. Finally, MSFR neutronics characteristics at steady-state were calculated using MOREL. The results show that the few-group parameters generated by one-dimension (1D) and two-dimension (2D) model are correct, and it is feasible to use OpenMC to generate few-group parameters. In case of 1D homogenization model, few-group parameters by 1D model (b) can give more accurate results both for eigenvalue and flux distribution. In MSFR whole-core calculation, using few-group cross-sections generated by 2D model has better accuracy in flux distribution, however, using few-group cross-sections generated by 1D model has better accuracy in k eff calculation. Moreover, the neutronics parameters of MSFR calculated by MOREL code agree well with that by other institutes.

Background and aimsGastric intestinal metaplasia (IM) is common in the gastric epithelium of patients with chronic atrophic gastritis. CDX2 activation in IM is driven by reflux of bile acids and following chronic inflammation. But the mechanism underlying how bile acids activate CDX2 in gastric epithelium has not been fully explored.MethodsWe performed microRNA (miRNA) and messenger RNA (mRNA) profiling using microarray in cells treated with bile acids. Data integration of the miRNA/mRNA profiles with gene ontology (GO) analysis and bioinformatics was performed to detect potential miRNA-mRNA regulatory circuits. Transfection of gastric cancer cell lines with miRNA mimics and inhibitors was used to evaluate their effects on the expression of candidate targets and functions. Immunohistochemistry and in situhybridisation were used to detect the expression of selected miRNAs and their targets in IM tissue microarrays.ResultsWe demonstrate a bile acids-triggered pathway involving upregulation of miR-92a-1–5p and suppression of its target FOXD1 in gastric cells. We first found that miR-92a-1–5p was increased in IM tissues and induced by bile acids. Moreover, miR-92a-1–5p was found to activate CDX2 and downstream intestinal markers by targeting FOXD1/FOXJ1 axis and modulating activation of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) pathway. Furthermore, these effects were found to be clinical relevant, as high miR-92a-1–5p levels were correlated with low FOXD1 levels and high CDX2 levels in IM tissues.ConclusionThese findings suggest a miR-92a-1–5p/FOXD1/NF-κB/CDX2 regulatory axis plays key roles in the generation of IM phenotype from gastric cells. Suppression of miR-92a-1–5p and restoration of FOXD1 may be a preventive approach for gastric IM in patients with bile regurgitation.

Consolidation and permeability tests were conducted on soft clays with different liquid limit by GDS consolidation apparatus. Some fitting parameters were studied for 4 common nonlinear permeability models based on the test data. But different soil samples have different parameters for the same model. In order to find the universal law of permeability coefficient and compressibility with the soil property and void ratio, the void ratio was normalized by the liquid void ratio eL, and the relationship of e/eL with logkv and logp were established based on the test data. The Chapman-Richard curve fitting model was adopted to best fit the obtained time-compression data. The relationship between e/eL with logkv was further verified using 30 groups of test data of permeability collected from China and abroad. The relationship between e/eL with logp was also discussed in this paper, and the fitted curves and nonlinear equations was further simplified into two linear equations at the point of e/eL=0.9 so as to consistent with the well-known theory. The nonlinear equations can be used to calculate the permeability and compressibility according to the void ratio and liquid limit.

Introduction Patients with atrophic gastritis (AG) or gastric intestinal metaplasia (GIM) have elevated risk of gastric adenocarcinoma. Endoscopic screening and surveillance have been implemented in high incidence countries. The study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of a deep convolutional neural network (CNN) for simultaneous recognition of AG and GIM. Methods Archived endoscopic white light images with corresponding gastric biopsies were collected from 14 hospitals located in different regions of China. Corresponding images by anatomic sites containing AG, GIM, and chronic non-AG were categorized using pathology reports. The participants were randomly assigned (8:1:1) to the training cohort for developing the CNN model (TResNet), the validation cohort for fine-tuning, and the test cohort for evaluating the diagnostic accuracy. The area under the curve (AUC), sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy with 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated. Results A total of 7,037 endoscopic images from 2,741 participants were used to develop the CNN for recognition of AG and/or GIM. The AUC for recognizing AG was 0.98 (95% CI 0.97-0.99) with sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of 96.2% (95% CI 94.2%-97.6%), 96.4% (95% CI 94.8%-97.9%), and 96.4% (95% CI 94.4%-97.8%), respectively. The AUC for recognizing GIM was 0.99 (95% CI 0.98-1.00) with sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of 97.9% (95% CI 96.2%-98.9%), 97.5% (95% CI 95.8%-98.6%), and 97.6% (95% CI 95.8%-98.6%), respectively. Discussion CNN using endoscopic white light images achieved high diagnostic accuracy in recognizing AG and GIM.

High Flux Engineering Test Reactor (HFETR) focuses on the irradiation test of reactor fuel elements, thus the accurate determination of power or flux distribution becomes important. Since HFETR contains complex geometry assembly and different types of irradiation channels, the traditional simulation methods such as Monte Carlo method and deterministic method based on rectangle and hexagonal mesh are not applicable in taking into account calculation accuracy and efficiency. In this study, based on “two-step” calculation scheme, a fuel management code named TRACS was developed. Homogenization of few-group cross-sections was performed by KYLIN-II lattice code, and reactor core calculation was performed by unstructured-mesh variational nodal method. Criticality position of control rod searching adopts difference method, and micro-depletion calculation is performed by solving microscopic burnup equation using an open source matrix exponential solver EXPOKIT of Chebyshev rational approximation method. Finally, two benchmarks of HFETR sample model with different irradiation channels were used to verify TRACS code, and the results by Monte Carlo code OpenMC serve as reference. The comparison results show that the keff error is less than 300 pcm for both two cases, and the relative power error of nearly all the fuel assembly and regions in irradiation assembly at both BOL and EOL stay below 5%, and the critical positions of control rods between TRACS and OpenMC during reactor operation are nearly the same. Overall, TRACS agrees well with OpenMC, and it can be used for fuel management calculation of HFETR with complex geometrical irradiation channel.
