3. LES HABITATIONS DE THAMES TOWN COMME LIEUX DE RENCONTRE D'UNIVERS CULTURELS.

- Abstract
This paper explores the decorative styles of three dwellings in the English-style neighbourhood of Thames Town, located in the new city of Songjiang on the outskirts of Shanghai. These interiors, all characterised by eclecticism and the co-presence of many elements attached by the inhabitants to Western cultural universes as well as to the Chinese history, question the contemporary ways of living of a part of the Chinese population, as well as cross-cultural representations and forms of interaction between China and the West. The analysis of the decorations makes it possible to apprehend - through the materialisation (or objectification) as a specific mode of expression of the domestic universe - the forms of hybridised cultural production, spatial appropriation of living spaces, as well as the processes of individual and collective identification and organisation of social relations.

SPATIAL filters - Abstract
The global data assimilation (DA) system at Météo‐France is currently based on a 4D‐Var formulation relying on wavelet‐based 3D background‐error covariances. These covariances are specified at the beginning of the DA window and are evolved implicitly in the DA window through tangent linear and adjoint model integrations. Further research and development steps on data assimilation at Météo‐France are conducted in the framework of the Object‐Oriented Prediction System (OOPS), which is developed in collaboration with the European Centre for Medium‐Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). For instance, 3D background‐error covariances can be made hybrid through a linear combination between wavelet‐based covariances and ensemble‐based covariances that are filtered through spatial localisation. This allows covariances to be made more anisotropic in a flow‐dependent way, and implementation of this hybridation in the OOPS framework is shown to have general positive impacts on the forecast quality. This 3D‐hybrid approach can also be extended to a 4D‐hybrid approach in the OOPS framework: this relies on a linear combination between 4D ensemble covariances on the one hand and 4D linearly propagated covariances on the other hand, corresponding to initial covariances that are evolved more explicitly by tangent linear and adjoint versions of the model. This provides a unifying framework for implementations of DA schemes that correspond to 4DEnVar, 4D‐Var, and new 4D‐hybrid formulations. This is thus considered as a novel way to combine the respective attractive features of 4D‐Var and 4DEnVar approaches, leading in particular to a new 4D‐hybrid formulation of 4DEnVar. Its properties and implementation in the OOPS framework are presented, and first experimental results show that this new formulation of 4DEnVar is competitive with 4D‐Var, in relation with the improved hybridisation. Based on a survey of faculty teachers at the University of Strasbourg in France, we analyze the perceptions of 418 respondents to a survey about their teaching experience during the two periods of online teaching in 2020 and 2021. Our results show, not surprisingly, a negative feeling. 79% of respondents consider the teaching experience since March 2020 to have been difficult or very difficult, and 51% give negative feedback. A comparison of the responses between those who expressed a negative impression and those who considered themselves rather satisfied with the experience points to the following main differences: the difficulty in mastering the tools and solving the technical problems to teach and produce teaching materials, the pedagogical relationship with the student, and the ability to adapt one’s teaching practices to the distance, particularly related to the lack of time. We note, however, that it is not so much digital competence or practice that marks the differences than perception of the relationship with the student and of pedagogical practices and skills.

11. The construction of a hybrid zone of employment and the vagaries of collective representation The case of home childcare providers in Quebec.

- Abstract
Legally qualified as self-employed, home educational childcare providers (HECPs) in Quebec operate in a hybrid zone between wage employment and selfemployment. While the majority of the elements of their work organisation is determined from the outside, they are one of the few groups of self-employed workers with access to social protection. This exists under a special sectorbased regime of collective bargaining between trade unions and the State. To grasp the complexities of their work and employment conditions, the paper evaluates HECPs through the lens of social labour relation. SLR is defined as the relation between workers and any entity likely to control their conditions of work and employment. The article analyses the socio-historical construction of successive patterns of SLR for HECPs, showing that they operate not only in a hybrid zone between wage employment and self-employment, but also in a «grey» zone of recomposition of norms, under the pressure of multiple interacting actors The first aspect concerns the blurring of the identity of employer through the multiplicity of entities whose action controls and structures various dimensions of the SLR. The second aspect derives from the hybrid nature of the legal framework of collective bargaining, which offers real potential for improving HECPs’ conditions of work and employment, along with important limitations and ambiguities. Abstract For decades develop in certain francophone localities, many languages practice to young. It is case of Adamawa region in Cameroon througth franfulfulde (Biloa 2010) and frangbaya (Naboula 2019). We realize that the gbaya and fulfulde are language in contact. One language influence second. Openly, geographic and demographic expansion of fufulde speakers put in danger the true gbaya if it must repected as a fact of appropriation of fulfulde is important of young. The linguistics item that observe inrich the frequent gbaya througth the hybridation process.

In rabbits breeding, the amelioration processes have a high importance because they are aimed to continuously increase the productions concomitantly with the decrease of specific consumption and unit costs. Cross-breeding of two genetically distinguished breeds can produce the heterozis effect, meaning an increase of the possibility that allow a higher productivity. 53 young rabbits were used as biological material, 3 interlinear simple female hybrids of New Zealand White (NZ) being the maternal line and 3 interlinear simple male hybrids of Grand Chinchilla (CH) form the paternal line. The 53 young rabbits were raised in identical environmental conditions so that their genetic potential to determinate the phonotypical expression. The rabbits weighing was done daily, at the same time, in equal foraging and drinking conditions. The rabbits were weaned at 30 days old, and until 80 days old were raised for meat. The two breeds used in the crossbreeding chart, respectively New Zealand White as maternal line and Grand Chinchilla as paternal line, have a good combinative characteristic, and on their hybrids is manifested the heterozis effect. In all the experimental, the hybrids from NZ x CH cross-breeding registered a corporal dynamic higher then the parental breeds.

The health context obliges an accelerated mutation of the formations which meets an older process of transformation, that of hybridization. This article proposes to open up useful avenues for the engineering of capacitive hybrid devices. So we come back in turn to different research. First, we explore the articulation between device and dispositions in the processes of capabilities, then, the notion of hybridization by drawing on the experience of integrative alternating training and its reliances. Finally, for a perspective and debate, we propose some ways to serve these ingenuities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to analyze the transformation of the New Public Management into the New Public Management within the framework of institutional divergence. The study focuses on the transformation of New Public Management as an institutional phenomenon within the framework of bureaucratic hybridization that results in unique divergences according to the organization. Social actors as the main element of institutional normative coupled with other institutional mimetics have an impact on elaboration patterns of government, affecting efficiency and organization. The case study methodology was chosen to see how the roles of actors in the bureaucracy with the help of Text Network Analysis as a visual and structured confirmation tool. The results show that the hybridization of public management in the bureaucracy needs to go beyond coercive factors to encourage the potential of state apparatus in digital governance towards ideal Post New Public Management. Methodological findings in the form of qualitative research variants that are adaptive to the application of technology can be applied to build strong data validity and reliability. Theoretically, the findings also complement institutional divergence studies that have not yet examined the context of the digital bureaucracy era.

A Humument (1966-2016), Tom Phillips’s masterwork, is an artist's book which falls under the category of found text by virtue of its compositional strategies. The book indeed consists in a revisitation and a détournement of every single page of a Victorian novel entitled A Human Document, published in 1892 by a certain William H. Mallock. Each page of A Humument constitutes a verbo-iconic complex in which the words isolated by Phillips and the various visual elements with which he covers the source text come into interaction, in often very elaborate configurations. The hybrid constellations patiently developed by Phillips are usually grounded in a very broad intertextual network which incorporates the established arts (literature, painting, music, etc.) alongside other artistic forms considered minor, including comics. The aim of our essay is to study as closely as possible Phillips’s re-appropriations of codes specific to comics, which he mobilizes in ways which alternate between the parodic and the poetic. Our analysis will thus focus on the formal hybridizations that Phillips operates on several pages of his work; it will also give us the opportunity to interrogate the necessarily problematic relationships which potentially unite comics and avant-gardist practices at the intersection of verbal and iconic registers.

The increasing number of clients with multicultural backgrounds pose a challenge for a mental health field that has mostly addressed the psychological needs of culturally diverse clients in a monolithic and linear fashion. In addition, the body's role in identity development and expression has not been fully integrated in either the theory or practice of counselling. This article addresses these gaps by advocating for a somatic psychotherapy process of identity exploration and negotiation of individuals with multiple cultural backgrounds. This process is meant to support not only more congruent hybrid identities, but also transform the vulnerabilities of this population in increased resiliency and strength. A composite case is used to illustrate this clinical approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recently, MFRs have been mobilizing remote modalities associated with alternance training in devices so called hybrids. We thus asked ourselves how these devices would prescribe reliances for their initiators and for alternants? The study allows us to discern a continuum of instrumented alternance training. The links to oneself, to others and to one's professional practices would be built through the mobilization of instruments and the implementation of educational activities aimed at creating links between the different training time spaces, of work and life and between the actors. GENOMICS , *SPARROWS - Abstract
The authors summarize the results obtained over a period of about 150 years by various authors on the taxonomic position of Sparrows present in southern Italy, Sicily and Malta, identified on several occasions as Passer italiae, P. hispaniolensis or as hybrids of the two species. Based on the latest research and the analysis of the genome of the sparrows of Corsica, Crete, southern Italy, Sicily and Malta, it appears that it has finally been possible to establish that these populations possess a different degree of hybridization between P. italiae and P. hispaniolensis, with less genes of P. hispaniolensis in northern regions and more in southern ones. Therefore, the authors propose to name these populations Passer italiae x hispaniolensis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SPEECH - Abstract
In this article we will cover the following problem; how do journalists and columnists picture the daily life using the French language? Our purpose is to demonstrate how the neological linguistic forms used by the chroniclers describe the Algerian social life. The corpus stripped and analyzed comes from the two chronicles "Slice of Life" and "Raïna Raïkoum" of the Algerian newspaper of French expression "Quotidien d'Oran" for 12 months; from June 01, 2010 to May 31, 2011. Starting from a historical reflection on the concept of hybridization, and in particular on its circulation between natural and social sciences, this contribution attempts to identify some of the processes by which cereal rituals are reformulated when the relevance of associated representations and practices is eroded. Among other examples, it mobilizes the case of millet rituals in Taiwan, modified by the introduction of rice cultivation and then by Christianization. The last section revisits the concepts and approaches used in the field so as to better balance theoretical rigor and imagination in the study of the transformations that continue to affect the meaning given to cultivation and food practices. Georges Henein and Jean Sénac are two committed poets who establish a link between East and West. Their specificity is that they lived in muslim countries, Egypt and Algeria, and they tried to take part in their people’s emancipation during the 20th century. They denounced the confiscation of power and the corruption of the anti-colonial fight using only two weapons : poetry and the French language. At the same time, they have encouraged tighter relations between the two sides of the Mediterranean. Their very peculiar situation, being related to several cultures and several territories, explains why they can be regarded as forerunners of modern identities placed under the sign of cultural hybridation.

This article is the partial result of an investigation carried out with the students of the Degree Program in Modern Languages of the University of Caldas, Colombia. This research was likewise integrated into a second study concerning the Didactics of the Grammar of Foreign Languages. The research arose from the linguistic hybridization that language teachers have perceived in the correction of the written production of students who simultaneously learn several languages. We analyze, in the current investigation, the phenomenon of linguistic transfer through a corpus of authentic texts written by students. This research focuses on two primary objectives: to identify the phenomenon of transfer at the scriptural level and to determine the pedagogical implications of the language loan in the simultaneous learning of several foreign languages. The methodology is based on an analytical-descriptive approach whose instruments for collecting information were an interview, a survey and a corpus of 50 authentic texts produced by the students. We made a description of the discursive unit and then we carried out a morphosyntactic, semantic and pragmatic analysis of each text. The systematization of the information gathered threw us among the conclusions that the mixture of languages in written production is essentially due to the similarity between them, that is, due to their nature of related languages and the approach used for teaching foreign languages, it facilitates the transfer phenomenon when the learning of several linguistic codes occurs simultaneously.

- Abstract
What are the effects of the intensification of energy interdependence between Russia, the world’s second largest exporter of hydrocarbons, and China, the world’s largest importer? Bilateral interdependence is the lever for the hybridization of the institutions governing international energy relations. Based on the issues of power and energy security, the intensification of interdependence leads to institutional changes, known as hybridization, which are linked to a specific security-efficiency trade-off. Four factors shape this hybridization: the structural context faced by the actors, the strategic behaviour of the state-firms complex, sectoral properties and existing institutional arrangements. Kersting's groundnut (Macrotyloma geocarpa) is an orphan crop of significant food and household income in sub-Saharan Africa. The objective of this study was to evaluate the chromosomal variability among the accessions of the species through analysis of the karyotypes. Six accessions of Kersting's groundnut were subjected to conventional cytological techniques, using root tip meristems. The somatic chromosome number was 2n = 20 in all the accessions. The highest total chromosome length was obtained in Tkg 1 (1.739 + 0.047); while the least was in Tkg 12 (1.014 + 0.029). All the accessions had metacentric, submetacentric and subtelocentric chromosomes. However, there was a preponderance towards metacentric chromosomes, suggesting a symmetrical karyotype, which is known to be a primitive condition. Five of the accessions were grouped in karyotype 2A while one accession, Tkg 9 was grouped in karyotype 2B. The 2B karyotypes are known to have greater chromosomal asymmetry than 2A; thus Tkg 9 may be advancing evolutionarily faster than the other accessions. Hierarchical cluster analysis divided the accessions into three clusters. Cluster 1 comprised of four accessions (Tkg 1, Tkg 6, Tkg 9 and Tkg 11); while Cluster 2 comprised of one accession (Tkg 6); and cluster 3 had one accession (Tkg 12). Tkg 6 and Tkg 12 were observed to be distantly related to the other accessions; as such could serve as parents in hybridisation programmes to generate wider variability for the improvement of the species. This article proposes a reflection on some of the meanings that the word feminism may have for social movement women’s activists. At a historical moment in which the term is used with a certain lightness, we will analyze the influence of social factors in women’s self-identification as feminists. The point of departure is the opinion of Italian, Chilean and Spanish activists interviewed at the beginning of the century in the framework of the doctoral thesis Women’s narratives on gender relations in mixed social movements. The analysis of their experience and perception serves as a starting point to bet on a feminism that moves from a differentialist logic, towards a vision that, without denying the particularities, recognizes and valorizes hybridisations and networking.

SOCIAL innovation , *SOCIAL structure , *NONPROFIT sector , *EXTRAVERSION - Abstract
This article reviews the state of knowledge on social innovations in Sub-Saharan Africa. Its aim is to explore and highlight the emerging trajectories of this little-discussed subject, for a continent caught between the dynamics of historical realities and the extroversion of development methods in a context characterized by multifaceted crises. To do this, the article revisits pertinent writings and explores emblematic cases by refocusing the research on a time frame extending from the 1960s to the present, when confrontation between the two movements has produced a hybridization that articulates innovations. The main finding concerns, on the one hand, a focus of social innovations on humans carried out by organizations linked to the social economy and, on the other hand, the alignment between the issues, challenges and practices whose local benchmarks particularize these innovations. The analyzed cases reveal a set of operational logics marked by the interaction between imported technologies and the pre-existing mechanisms from which innovative technologies originate. The proliferation of such technologies makes it possible to open up research perspectives highlighting socioterritorial structures, the omnipresence of solidarity activities and the predominance of community actors who have to combine social, institutional, economic, technical, and academic traits.

- Abstract
Gossypium, the cotton genus, includes ∼50 species distributed in tropical and sub-tropical regions of all continents except Europe. Here we provide a synopsis of the evolutionary history of Gossypium and domestication of the American allopolyploid species, integrating data from fundamental taxonomic investigations, biogeography, molecular genetics, phylogenetic analysis, and archaeology. These diverse sources of information provide a temporal and phylogenetic perspective on diversification among the diploids and on polyploid formation, uncover multiple previously cryptic interspecific hybridizations, clarify and contribute to the taxonomy of the genus, and offer a firm foundation for understanding parallel domestications in Mesoamerica and South America, which led to the globally important cotton crop species G. barbadense and G. hirsutum. Gossypium thus offers a testimonial example of the importance and utility of fundamental botanical discovery combined with modern technological capabilities to generate genomic insights into evolutionary history. We also review the current state of our knowledge regarding the archaeological history of cotton domestication and diffusion in the Americas, a seemingly unlikely story entailing parallel domestication origins and parallel directional selection tracing to 8,000 (G. barbadense) and 5,500 (G. hirsutum) years ago, transforming two geographically isolated wild short-day perennial shrubs having small capsules and seeds covered by short, tan-colored epidermal trichomes into modern daylength-neutral annuals bearing abundant, fine, strong white fibers. This dual domestication was followed several millennia later by unintentional and more recently intentional interspecific introgression, as the two species came into contact following their initial domestication in different hemispheres. Thus, the cycle of species divergence and biological reunion was reiterated, this time at the allopolyploid level. Understanding this evolutionary

- Abstract
Background and aims: Cultivated bananas resulted from inter-(sub-)specific hybridizations involving Musa species and subspecies (M. acuminata subspecies, M. schizocarpa, M. balbisiana) and the subsequent selection, centuries ago, of hybrids with parthenocarpic, seedless fruits. Cultivars have low fertility and are vegetatively propagated, forming groups of somaclones. Relatively few of them, mainly triploids, are grown on a large scale and characterization of their parental relationships may be useful for breeding strategies. Here, we investigate parental relationships and gamete-type contributions among diploid and polyploid banana cultivars. Methods: We used SNP genotyping data from whole genome sequencing of 178 banana individuals including 111 cultivars, 55 wild bananas and 12 synthetic F1 hybrids. We analysed the proportion of SNP sites in accordance with direct parentage with a global statistic and along chromosomes for selected individuals. Key Results: We characterised parentage relationships for seven diploid, eleven triploid and one tetraploid cultivars. Results showed that both diploid and triploid cultivars could have contributed gametes to other banana cultivars. Diploids may have contributed 1x or 2x gametes and triploids, 1x to 3x gametes. The Mchare diploid cultivars group nowadays only found in East Africa, was found as parent of 2 diploid and 8 triploid cultivars. In five of its identified triploid offspring, corresponding to main export or locally popular dessert bananas, Mchare contributed a 2x gamete with full genome restitution without recombination. Analyses of remaining haplotypes in these Mchare offspring suggested ancestral pedigree relationships between different interspecific banana cultivars. Conclusions: Current cultivated banana resulted from different pathways of formation, with implication of recombined or un-recombined unreduced gametes produced by diploid or triploid cultivars. Identification of dessert banana's parents and the typ

- Abstract
Humans have had a major influence on the dissemination of crops beyond their native range, thereby offering new hybridization opportunities. Characterizing admixed genomes with mosaic origins generates valuable insight into the adaptive history of crops and the impact on current varietal diversity. We applied the ELAI tool—an efficient local ancestry inference method based on a two-layer hidden Markov model to track segments of wild origin in cultivated accessions in the case of multiway admixtures. Source populations—which may actually be limited and partially admixed—must be generally specified when using such inference models. We thus developed a framework to identify local ancestry with admixed source populations. Using sequencing data for wild and cultivated Coffea canephora (commonly called Robusta), our approach was found to be highly efficient and accurate on simulated hybrids. Application of the method to assess elite Robusta varieties from Vietnam led to the identification of an accession derived from a likely backcross between two genetic groups from the Congo Basin and the western coastal region of Central Africa. Admixtures resulting from crop hybridization and diffusion could thus lead to the generation of elite high-yielding varieties. Our methods should be widely applicable to gain insight into the role of hybridization during plant and animal evolutionary history.
