Based on the analysis of bibliographical sources, official governance documents, expert interviews and fieldwork on the phenomenon of depopulation in the United Kingdom, this text identifies the different geographical, historical, economic and political factors influencing different fields, including territory, agriculture, urbanism, rural settlements, traditional architecture, population and society. The set of factors and fields of action was recorded in a multifactor matrix that enabled the analysis of cases applied in the United Kingdom to identify strategies and actions aimed at guaranteeing the conservation of vernacular settlements and architecture. The study was subsequently expanded with detailed research in four areas: the regions of the Cotswolds (Oxfordshire) and Cornwall in England, Mid West Wales and the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The aim of this study, applied to the case of the United Kingdom, is to extract guidelines, strategies and actions that can be applied to other contexts where tangible and intangible vernacular heritage is to be safeguarded. The purpose of this article is to study the methodology for analyzing the financial results of the enterprise and the formation of a comprehensive approach for its implementation, taking into account the theoretical aspects of the research of scientists and the practical aspects of the functioning of enterprises in modern conditions, including subjects of the agricultural industry. It has been proven that the war waged by the Russian Federation against Ukraine had a significant impact on the financial results of export-import operations, on negative changes in the balance and the coefficient of coverage of imports by exports. But despite a certain reduction in the positive balance in agricultural goods trade, there is an improvement in the structure of foreign trade turnover and the functioning of the agricultural sector even during the period of military operations and the difficult economic situation in Ukraine. It has been found that increasing the financial results of such subjects of the national economy is possible with the use of such a tool in their management system as financial analysis. The method of analyzing the financial results of enterprises from 2000 to the present time has been studied. It has been proven that the method of analyzing financial results changes in accordance with changes in the factors of the external environment of enterprise functioning, changes in the enterprise management system, requirements of management and owners to ensure and increase the efficiency of operation, competitiveness and development, transformation of activities, as well as scientific research on the formation and development of methodological bases of such research. It has been substantiated that in the modern realities of conducting financial analysis, the analysis methods associated with a more detailed calculation based on various articles of financial reporting inevitably come to the fore. This is connected with the need for a more in-depth analysis of financial statements, financial condition, financial results and active business activity of the enterprise in the modern conditions of its functioning. A comprehensive methodical approach to conducting the financial results of the company's activity has been formed, which has been substantiated by us and, in our opinion, is important for ensuring the effective activity, competitiveness and profitability of the business of such important subjects of the national economy as the subjects of the agricultural industry of Ukraine. This article is the result of a scrupulous investigation of a conceptual issue of the methodology for studying the verbal text of a rock composition as an element of a synthetic text. Based on the well-established idea in the research community about the need to create / use interdisciplinary methods to analyze the verbal subtext of a rock composition, the authors of this study have tried to include the category of image in the methodology of the philological analysis of the verbal component. As a result of the study, the authors conclude that the required structural elements of the verbal component of a rock composition, which distinguish it from both non-synthetic and other synthetic texts, are the phonic level and the subject organization. Considering the subject organization as the central category of not only the verbal subtext of a rock composition, but also of rock and roll discourse in general, the authors introduce and use the term “image character” in the analysis of E. Letov’s work, which allows them to move away from the traditional classification of lyrical subjects and to reveal the links between the lyrical subject of lyrics and the hero of the biographical myth created by the rock poet. The second significant achievement reported in this article is the identification and perception of the phonic level of the verbal text of a rock composition as a marker that distinguishes its text of a traditional, “printed” poem. It is not by chance that all observations made by the authors regarding the phonic organization of lyrics have turned out to be valuable. It was important for the authors not so much as to show the difference between lyrics and a poem (although it was important too), but rather to demonstrate the adherence to principles even in the formal structures of a performing supertext.

The purpose of the article is to develop and approbate a methodical approach to analyzing the financial security of priority sectors of the national economy. The article emphasizes the relevance of considering the issues of economic and, in particular, financial security at the level of the sectoral economic system. The authors’ own methodology of analysis is developed and the weighting factors of indicators of financial security of agriculture, industry, construction and transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities of Ukraine are evaluated. The structure of financial security of priority sectors of the national economy, i. e., the investment, credit, debt, monetary, production and economic, system-structural components is determined and the weighting factors of indicators are evaluated according to these security components. This approach made it possible to identify the indicators with a lesser extent along with the indicators with a greater extent of an impact they have on the general condition of subindexes, and therefore determine the overall level of financial-economic security of priority sectors of the national economy of Ukraine. The integral values of financial security of priority sectors of the national economy of Ukraine for 2010-2020 were computed. The results of the assessment allowed to identify, firstly, the state of financial security of the analyzed industries; secondly, the dynamic characteristics of changes in the level of financial security of priority sectors of the national economy; thirdly, the measure of differentiation in the state of financial security among the analyzed types of economic activity; fourthly, to form conclusions regarding the factors influencing the parameters of financial security of priority sectors of the national economy of Ukraine; fifthly, to determine the strategic directions and develop a set of the State policy instruments focused on strengthening financial security, taking into account the existing specifics for agriculture, industry, construction and transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities of Ukraine. Prospects for further scientific research in the analyzed sphere relate to the formation of recommendations regarding the linking of the results of the accomplished analysis with the formation of actions in the field of strengthening the financial-economic security of priority sectors of the Ukrainian economy.

At the present stage of development of theoretical-methodological principles and applied aspects of ensuring the financial-economic security of the State in general, the problem of improving the methodology for analyzing the financial-economic security of priority sectors of the national economy has been actualized. This will increase information-analytical support, and therefore, the efficiency of the State policy of strengthening the financial-economic security of strategic industries. The purpose of the article is to develop and approbate a methodological approach to decomposition and analysis of the weight of the impact of indicators on the condition of financial-economic security of priority sectors of the national economy. The object of the study is the processes of analyzing the financial-economic security of priority sectors of the national economy. In the course of research, general scientific and special methods were used: synthesis and system analysis, logical generalization, strategic management, comparative analysis. The article focuses on the relevance of considering the problems of economic and, in particular, financial-economic security at the level of the sectoral economic system. The authors’ own methodology of analysis is developed and the weighting factors of indicators of financial-economic security of agriculture, industry, construction and transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities of Ukraine are evaluated. The structure of financial-economic security of priority sectors of the national economy – investment, credit, debt, monetary, production-economic, system-structural – is determined. Using these security components, the weighting factors of the indicators are estimated. Such an approach allowed to identify indicators that to a lesser and greater extent affect the general condition of subindexes, and therefore determine the general level of financial-economic security of priority sectors of the national economy of Ukraine. Prospects for further scientific research in the analyzed sphere relate to the formation of recommendations for linking the results of the analysis with the formation of measures in the sphere of strengthening the financial-economic security of priority sectors of the Ukrainian economy.

The article is devoted to the multi-level nature of the study of the theoretical and applied aspects of managing the development of the agricultural sector of the economy. It accumulates the most adequate to the current state of economy the campaigns acting as tools of gnosiological process. The article deals with the provisions of General and anti-sanctions management, the theory of state regulation of the economy of agriculture, the provisions of the institutional economic theory, allowing to identify the key areas of economic growth and to consider the methodology of management of the development of the agricultural sector in the context of complementarity of its components.

At the present stage of development of theoretical and methodological principles and applied aspects of ensuring financial and general economic security of the State, the problem of improving the conceptual provisions of the methodology for analyzing the financial security of strategic sectors of the national economy has been actualized. This will increase the efficiency of providing economic entities of strategic sectors of the economy with financial resources, using capital and creating prerequisites for financial and economic development and also growth of the national economy, ensuring its powerful competitive positions. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the theoretical and methodological principles of the methodology for studying the financial security of strategic sectors of the national economy. The object of the study is the processes of improving the State policy on strengthening the financial security of strategic sectors of the national economic management. In the process of research, general-scientific and special methods were used: synthesis and system analysis, logical generalization, strategic management, comparative analysis. The article focuses on the relevance of consideration of economic and, in particular, financial security at the level of the sectoral economic system. A special emphasis is placed on the relevance of the State policy on ensuring financial security of directly strategic (priority) sectors of the national economy. Based on the analysis of theoretical-methodological approaches to the formation of content and structural characteristics of the economic security of the industry sector, elements of methodological support for analyzing the financial security of strategic sectors of the national economy are determined. The following tasks of the methodology for analyzing the financial security of strategic sectors of the economy, such as the provision of financial and investment resources, proper financial condition, efficiency of capital use, protection from financial risks and threats, development of the financial subsystem of the industry, realization of potential in ensuring the financial and economic development of the national economy are determined. It is concluded that the elements of the logic-structural model of the methodology for analyzing strategic sectors of the national economy are the purpose, tasks, components, indicators, approaches and methods for analysis and evaluation. Prospects for further scientific research in the analyzed area relate to the formation of recommendations for the linking of the formed information and analytical base as a result of the assessment along with the formation of measures and control of the State policy on their implementation.

Today, businesses operate in conditions of significant competition and a high level of unpredictability of changes in the environment. Therefore, for each company it is even more important to make optimal management decisions. A significant number of decisions are made based on the results of the analysis of the financial condition of the enterprise. However, the existing methodology and practice of financial analysis have many different shortcomings that significantly distort the results of the analysis. The main shortcomings can be divided into the following groups: organizational, methodological, technical, legislative, conceptual, informational. As a result of their presence, many users of financial information form incorrect conclusions and make suboptimal management decisions, which negatively affects the future results of the enterprise, related entities and the economy in general. Therefore, the purpose of scientific work is to study the shortcomings of the methodology and practice of financial analysis, and to find ways to address these shortcomings. The article examines foreign and domestic experience in analysing the financial condition of enterprises; identified and grouped the shortcomings of the methodology and practice of this type of analysis; the importance of taking into account the factors of its internal and external environments during the analysis of the financial condition of the enterprise is substantiated; recommendations for eliminating a number of shortcomings of the analysis of the financial condition of enterprises are offered. The authors present the automatic shape memory alloy data analyzer (ASMADA). ASMADA is capable of rapid, robust, and consistent processing of shape memory alloy thermal cycling data acquired under constant stress. This seeks to address two primary issues: the lack of unified analysis procedures in relevant standards and the near-universal manual analysis of such data. ASMADA is compliant with the definitions provided in ASTM standards and calculates up to twenty-three (23) material properties/parameters at speeds ranging from 5 to 35 cycles sâˆ'1. These parameters include the four transformation start/finish temperature thresholds, which are calculated using the tangent line method; the transformation region tangent lines are determined using a modified sigmoid function, whereas the single-phase region tangent lines are determined based on the geometry of the cycle data. Additionally, a graphical user interface is provided to make the tool readily accessible and easy to navigate. The capabilities of ASMADA have been tested on experimental data from four different research groups; results from five of these tests are presented to demonstrate the tool’s robustness. The foundations for NPPs safe operation are laid down at the design stage; therefore, the main task of this stage is the most complete consideration of safety requirements and principles in the project. The existing experience in the design of NPPs for foreign customers shows that both safety standards and national regulatory documents of a number of countries impose detailed requirements for deterministic safety analysis of internal influences, the source of which is inside the building: fires, explosions, projectiles, falling loads, flooding, etc. At the same time, the methodological issues of performing deterministic safety analysis of internal influences are not sufficiently developed either at the level of national standards or at the level of safety guidelines. The presented analysis methodology is aimed at improving the regulatory documentation for the NPPs safety justification and is developed on the basis of regulatory requirements in the field of nuclear safety in various countries and summarizing the experience of performing the deterministic safety justification of domestic and foreign projects. The analysis of educational data makes it possible to observe the performance of both the student and the institutions, providing opportunities for decision-making to improve the teaching-learning process. The National Student Performance Exam (Enade) assesses and monitors this process. Education is a fundamental area for the growth and development of a country. Therefore, the challenge of this research is to detect possible flaws in training students from the content analysis of Enade, in addition to identifying the areas of knowledge that are predictive of success in the final exam result. Thus, this text describes the implementation of a methodology for the content analysis of Enade, to identify the disciplines that most impact the result of this exam. As a case study, we used data from all students and tests applied to the Computer Science area, for the years 2005, 2008, 2011, 2014, and 2017. The questions of the tests were classified according to the subareas of Computer Science. Besides, statistical tests were applied to the results obtained by students at Enade to identify predictors and structure of the exam. The final result was a report based on content analysis that allows Enade to be analyzed by theme. Based on the generalization of the results obtained, the methodology can be applied to other areas of knowledge, expanding the scope of possible analyzes, using data from Enade. Road crashes is a serious public health problem in the world. The study of open data on this subject can stimulate more timely and informed decisions. The objective is to propose a methodology to study open data on road accident (Medellín case) using Data Science, considering from the planning of the study to the web visualization. The methodology consists of four macroprocesses: 1. Planning, 2. Data preparation, 3. Automatic analysis and 4. Data visualization (web application). These consist of one or more stages, disaggregated into 15 sub-stages with univariate, bivariate and multivariate scopes. Macroprocesses 2-4 were automated in R language. As a result, the analyst can become familiar with the topic (descriptive), explore relationships between variables, locate events, induce patterns of grouping and identify some factors associated with the events of accidents. All these, combining variables for a more detailed segmentation. The case study also has value for other areas, since road accidents generate greater effects in developing countries, which is attracting the interest of researchers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract A new detection system has been installed at the RIKEN Nishina Center (Japan) to investigate decay properties of very neutron-rich nuclei. The setup consists of three main parts: a moderated neutron counter, a detection system sensitive to the implantation and decay of radioactive ions, and γ -ray detectors. We describe here the setup, the commissioning experiment and some selected results demonstrating its performance for the measurement of half-lives and β -delayed neutron emission probabilities. The Electron Cyclotron Upper Launcher is an eight beamline ITER antenna whose main goal is to drive current locally, inside magnetic islands that may form on the q = 3/2 or 2 rational magnetic flux surfaces, in order to stabilize neoclassical tearing modes (NTMs). The primary vacuum boundary at the port plug extends into the port cell region through the ex-vessel mm-wave waveguide components, defining the so-called First Confinement System (FCS). Thermal expansion, seismic events and plasma disruption events result in displacements of the vacuum vessel, relative to the tokamak building, that are transferred to the FCS at its interfaces with the port plug. In absence of suitable inline waveguide bellows, the adaptation to such imposed displacements is provided by bending compliance of the straight waveguide sections. An analysis methodology for the ex-vessel components was developed which covers a preliminary set of applicable load combinations throughout the system life-cycle. This methodology describes the FCS numerical model developed to assess the system against independent events as well as the load combination strategy followed to combine the results. Some simplifications like the simulation of the Vertical Displacement Events (VDEs) by a static approach are considered in order to develop this methodology. The analysis of the results shows that the miter bends and the pieces of waveguides rigidly attached to the port cell ceiling are the most demanded components for most of the considered load combinations. Introduction. Payment per quality system generates changes that will positively impact current milk production and commercialization procedures. Objective. Analyze the perception of purchasing agents (PA) and sample testing staff (ST) on the raw milk payment calculation for suppliers in Antioquia. Materials and methods. 14 interviews were conducted with PA staff and 84 surveys were applied to ST. To analyze their perception, we used mixed data factor analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis of main components. Results. It was identified that with the exception of large highly technical companies, PA had little knowledge of Resolutions 17 of 2012 and 77 of 2015 from the Colombian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Most PA have a positive perception on the application of these resolutions; according to them, it would incentivize improvements in milk quality and a fair payment to suppliers, and would create more transparency and trust in the commercial relationship with the supplier. In general, ST did not know the resolutions and expressed that they have a good relationship with PA and suppliers. Conclusion. For PA and ST, the payment per quality system generates benefits in their commercial relationship with the supplier and the dairy sector in general, although it can cause uncertainties due to changes in production and commercialization procedures. Current guidelines for design and assessment of buildings under tsunami actions do not explicitly state how to apply tsunami loads to buildings and which analysis methods to use in order to assess the structural response to the tsunami loads. In this paper, a reinforced concrete (RC) moment-resisting frame, which is designed as a tsunami evacuation building, is selected as a case study and subjected to simulated 2011 Tohoku tsunami waves. To assess tsunami impact on the model building, different nonlinear static analyses, i.e. constant-height pushover (CHPO) and variable-height pushover (VHPO), are compared with nonlinear dynamic analysis. The results of VHPO provide a good prediction of engineering demand parameters and collapse fragility curves obtained from the dynamic analysis under a wide range of tsunami loading. On the other hand, CHPO tends to overestimate interstorey drift ratio (IDR) and underestimate column shear by about 5–20%. It provides a larger fragility, i.e. about 10% in median value, for global failure and a smaller fragility for local shear failure. On the basis of these results, it is recommended that VHPO be used in future fragility analysis of buildings subjected to tsunami. However, pushover methods might not be adequate in cases where the tsunami inundation force time-histories are characterised by a “double-peak”, which subjects the structure to a two-cycle load. Finally, it is found that tsunami peak force is better correlated to IDR than flow velocity and inundation depth for the considered structure. This suggests that the peak force would be a more efficient intensity measure than the other two in the development of tsunami fragility curves. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article proposes a pattern-based approach to early nineteenth-century music. Analyses of works by Beethoven, Schubert, and Schumann illustrate that the "galant" schemata of the eighteenth century (as proposed by Gjerdingen 2007) continued to thrive well into the nineteenth century, albeit transformed according to composers' personal styles. Four schemata are discussed in particular: the Romanesca, the Monte-Romanesca, the Fenaroli, and the Prinner. The article explores the contrapuntal foundations of the schemata in particular and of tonal harmonic syntax in general. In this paper we present a proposal for a classification guide of historical lithic artifacts. It arose as a necessity for the study of this kind of material in modern history contexts due to, generally archaeological lithic analysis had focus on prehistoric contextsleaving practically aside the study of modern ones.Our interest in this subject started with the recovery of a huge amount of granitic rocks in an urban excavation and we had to develop a particular methodology to its analysis. At that time we recognize that although our academic formation in prehistoricallithic artifacts analysis turned out to be efficient in the study of other historical contexts,it was not appropriated for the analysis of 12 tn of rocks recovered from inside a merchantship found in Puerto Madero, Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Therefore, we decided to amplify, correct and (most of all) clarify the analysis guide for historical lithic artifacts in order to other scholars could do such a task.In sum, in this paper we propose a methodological guide for the analysis of historical lithic instruments. We focus on the artifact, ecofact and material bulk, as relevant units of analysis in the local, regional and interregional level.

We present a novel methodology for analysis of the average end-to-end latency and link utilization of wormhole NoCs with heterogeneous link capacities and heterogeneous number of virtual channels per unidirectional link. Our analysis methodology supports different heterogeneous NoC topologies for which no analysis framework has been developed in the past. The average end-to-end latency per flow is separated to three components: (1) The time it takes the head-flit to leave the source queue ( queuing time at the source ); (2) The time it takes the head-flit to reach the destination module ( path acquisition time ) and (3) The time it takes the rest of the packet to leave the network ( transfer time ). Furthermore, we take into account the interaction between intersecting flows. The average link utilization is calculated based on the path acquisition time and transfer time . To that end, our analysis introduces a set of implicit equations, which can be efficiently solved iteratively. We demonstrate the accuracy and the efficiency of our approximate analysis by comparing the analysis results to accurate simulations for several synthetic examples and SoC multimedia applications in heterogeneous networks. In addition, we compare the analysis results with HNOCS simulation results for a chip-multi-processor (CMP) using SPLASH-2 and PARSEC traces for both homogeneous and heterogeneous NoC configurations. In the article the theoretical and methodological principles of public administration, which comes to explaining the conceptual-categorical apparatus of public administration, the evolution of concepts of international experience of public administration. Since the purpose of public governance is a complex socio-economic development of the respective local communities, it is the interaction of local government determines the efficiency of public administration in different spheres - economic, social and political context of their unity. Noosphere-spiritual concept of the public sphere proclaims one of its goals the formation of public administration as an art of governance, which is a combination of state (public use), aimed at developing effective administrative mechanisms vital relations between states, peoples, nations, and various social strata of society. The noosphere is a socio-natural system of public administration in which humanistic management realized the moral and righteous human mind and integrated global intelligence. The criterion of development and quality of life is humanist values and knowledge of a person who lives in harmony with the surrounding social and natural environment. The practical significance of the development of the concept of public administration on the basis of scientific management determined that it is the foundation of public management, which aims to form new anthropological principles of Ukrainian society. In order to provide recommendations for improving the way in which destinations use social networks in their communication strategy, Facebook and Twitter accounts of important Spanish tourist destinations were analysed, using online measurement tools. The results show that these destinations neglect to build a place-identity brand on the social networks and that interactive potential is largely wasted, especially in Facebook. The recommendation is to enhance user engagement by posing questions to them or posting photos, as well as focusing on brand communication, not only on disseminating tourist information. This paper presents a methodological framework for assessing the capacity and power to act of different agents within an organization, in terms of health, safety and working conditions. The innovation we propose is the development of an assessment instrument, “Questioning the Power to Act” (QPA), a tool based on a questionnaire from Quebec, designed to measure the power to act in different areas and use questioning techniques to make a qualitative analysis of the capacity and power to act of the agents involved. The preparatory research raised some questions as to the relationship between the pre-established categories of the original questionnaire and the categories the QPA instrument would propose for assessing individuals’ capacity and power to act. Our analysis showed cross links, but the categories remain based on two distinct theoretical frameworks and are not identical. Before concluding, we discuss the potential advantages to be gained from use of the QPA as an interview support and time analysis tool, its interest and its limits.

Purpose: To assess the impact of 'real-world' practice variation in the process of quantifying left ventricular (LV) mass, volume indices, and ejection fraction (EF) from steady-state free precession cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) images. The utility of LV geometric modeling techniques was also assessed. Materials and Methods: The effect of short-axis- versus long-axis-derived LV base identification, simplified versus detailed endocardial contouring, and visual versus automated identification of end-systole were evaluated using CMR images from 50 consecutive, prospectively recruited patients. Additionally, the performance of six geometric models was assessed. Repeated measurements were performed on 25 scans (50%) in order to assess observer variability. Results: Simplified endocardial contouring significantly overestimated volumes and underestimated EF (-6 ± 4%, P < 0.0005) compared to detailed contouring. A mean difference of -34g ( P < 0.0005) was observed between mass measurements made using short-axis- versus long-axis-derived LV base positioning. A technique involving long-axis LV base identification, signal threshold-based detailed endocardial contouring, and automated identification of end-systole had significantly higher observer agreement. Geometric models showed poor agreement with conventional analysis and high variability. Conclusion: Real-world variability in CMR image analysis leads to significant differences in LV mass, volume and EF measurements, and observer variability. In the past some classifications of surface features have been developed, but none is perfect. This work presents Grasshopper's® (GH) procedure that uses curvature to calculate K(s) graphs, which is used to measurable analyse surface characteristics. The procedure has been tested on various geometries in our base, but only some illustrative objects are presented in this article. The classification is complex therefore first we have to establish classification of curves that are basis elements of surfaces. At the end of the paper we have compiled a list of shape classes that still have to be verified. Our goal is to establish a basis of the shape language, which is necessary for both understanding the meaning of the shape, as well as communication from any point of view. Therefore, the GH procedure is a great potential tool for analysing shape characteristics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the presented paper, it is shown how the utilization of a systematic three-phase fundamental frequency analysis and three-phase frequency scan can become helpful tools in an electromagnetic transient study. The present methodology was applied to a study of real transmission system expansion, and it allowed for the identification of some rather severe cases which would be very hard to discover through the ordinary transient study procedure.
