Abstract
- In the past some classifications of surface features have been developed, but none is perfect. This work presents Grasshopper's® (GH) procedure that uses curvature to calculate K(s) graphs, which is used to measurable analyse surface characteristics. The procedure has been tested on various geometries in our base, but only some illustrative objects are presented in this article. The classification is complex therefore first we have to establish classification of curves that are basis elements of surfaces. At the end of the paper we have compiled a list of shape classes that still have to be verified. Our goal is to establish a basis of the shape language, which is necessary for both understanding the meaning of the shape, as well as communication from any point of view. Therefore, the GH procedure is a great potential tool for analysing shape characteristics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
