This paper presents two metazoan zooplankton datasets obtained by imaging samples collected on the Bay of Biscay continental shelf in spring during the PELGAS integrated surveys, over the 2004–2019 period. The samples were collected at night, with a WP2 200 µm mesh size fitted with a Hydrobios (back-run stop) mechanical flowmeter, hauled vertically from the sea floor to the surface with a maximum depth set at 100 m when the bathymetry is deeper. The first dataset originates from samples collected from 2004 to 2016, imaged on land with the ZooScan and is composed of 1,153,507 imaged and measured objects. The second dataset originates from samples collected from 2016 to 2019, imaged on board the R/V Thalassa with the ZooCAM and is composed of 702,111 imaged and measured objects. The imaged objects is composed of zooplankton individuals, zooplankton pieces, non-living particles and imaging artefacts, ranging from 300 µm to 3.39 mm Equivalent Spherical Diameter, individually imaged, measured and identified. Each imaged object is geolocated, associated to a station, a survey, a year and other metadata. Each object is described by a set of morphological and grey level based features (8 bits encoding, 0 = black, 255 = white), including size, automatically extracted on each individual image. Each object was taxonomically identified using the web based application Ecotaxa with built-in, random forest and CNN based, semi-automatic sorting tools followed by expert validation or correction. The objects were sorted in 172 taxonomic and morphological groups. Each dataset features a table combining metadata and data, at the individual object granularity, from which one can easily derive quantitative population and communities descriptors such as abundances, mean sizes, biovolumes, biomasses, and size structure. Each object’s individual image is provided along with the data. These two datasets can be used combined together for ecological studies as the two instruments are interoperable, or as training sets for ZooScan and ZooCAM users.

Our objective was to describe the progressive introduction of photoselective vaporization of the prostate (PVP) in an academic department of urology in an outpatient care setting and report our outcomes after the first 100 cases.Since May 2014, XPS GreenLight™ (Boston Scientific-AMS, USA) PVP in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia was introduced in our department. A prospective local registry was opened to collect patients' demographics, preoperative characteristics and surgical outcomes including operative time, length of stay, catheterization time, and postoperative complications as well as functional outcomes. We also assessed limitations to the outpatient care setting.Conversion to TURP was reported in 6 % for uncontrolled bleeding. Overall, 21 % patients needed more than 1-day catheterization. After 6 months of follow-up, 3 patients (prostate volume 50, 117, and 178mL) had reintervention (second PVP). Ninety days' complications were reported to be up to 6 % (3 urinary obstructions, 1 prostatitis, 1 transfusion and a severe sepsis). After 8 months, an 80 % plateau of outpatient care setting was achieved. Anesthesiologists counter-indicated outpatient care in 59 % of the cases.A progressive introduction of the PVP in an outpatient care setting is associated with a low complication rate. A plateau was achieved in less than 100 procedures. The major limitation of the outpatient care setting was patients' competitive comorbidities and not disease characteristics.4.

Objectifs La photo-vaporisation de la prostate (PVP) est une option therapeutique de plus en plus repandue dans la chirurgie mini-invasive de l’hypertrophie benigne de la prostate. Notre objectif etait de rapporter notre experience d’introduction de la PVP dans un service hospitalo-universitaire et d’analyser les limites a la chirurgie ambulatoire dans cette indication. Methodes Depuis le mois de mai 2014, la PVP au laser GreenLight XPS™ (AMS, Minnetonka, USA) a ete introduite dans notre service. Un registre prospectif a ete ouvert pour la collection des donnees demographiques, les caracteristiques de la maladie ainsi que les complications per- et postoperatoires (classification de Clavien). Les 4 operateurs ont eu une journee de « proctoring » par un urologue experimente. Nous rapportons les complications perioperatoires, la duree de sejour et les modalites d’hospitalisation (traditionnelle versus ambulatoire) des 100 premiers patients. Resultats Les caracteristiques pre- et peroperatoires de la cohorte sont resumees dans le Tableau 1 . La conversion a une resection monopolaire, a ete necessaire dans 6 % des cas. Au total, 21 % des patients ont necessite un sondage > 24 heures (6 % de conversion, 6 % hematurie, 1 % de fausse route, 8 % de retention chronique). Apres un suivi moyen de 6 mois (mediane : 5 mois), 3 patients ont eu une deuxieme PVP (prostates de 50, 117 et 178 mL). Il a ete rapporte 5 % et 1 % de complications de grade (I–II : 3 retentions d’urine, une transfusion et une prostatite) et (III–IV : un sepsis severe) respectivement. L’implementation et les limites a chirurgie sont resumees dans la Fig. 1 . Conclusion L’introduction progressive de la photo-vaporisation de la prostate a permis d’obtenir des resultats satisfaisants et d’atteindre un plateau en termes de resultats en moins de 100 interventions en moins d’un an. Apres 8 mois, 80 % des interventions etaient realisee en ambulatoire.

Objectifs L’urethroplastie par resection-anastomose (URA) en un seul temps est une des differentes options de reparation des stenoses de l’uretre. Cependant, les resultats sont aleatoires y compris dans des centres referents. Notre objectif etait d’evaluer les resultats de cette technique en fonction du mecanisme lesionnel. Methodes Entre janvier 2004 et janvier 2015, 97 patients ont eu une URA pour une stenose de l’uretre. Les mecanismes lesionnels etaient regroupes en 3 classes : fracture du bassin ( n = 23), traumatisme iatrogenique endouretral ( n = 24) et idiopathique ( n = 50). Les complications postoperatoires, la debimetrie, le taux de recidive et de reintervention ont ete compares en fonction de mecanisme lesionnel initial. Resultats Les patients qui avaient des fractures du bassin etaient plus jeunes que les deux autres groupes ( p Tableau 1 ). Apres un suivi moyen de 25 ± 24 (intervalle : 1–102) mois, 27 (27,8 %) patients ont recidives. Le risque de recidive etait superieur dans le groupe (log rank p Fig. 1 ). Conclusion Cette etude retrospective suggere que les resultats de l’urethroplastie par resection anastomose avaient des resultats moins perennes dans le cas des fractures du bassin compare aux lesions iatrogene endourologique ou idiopathiques.

Objectifs L’evaluation de la valeur ajoutee de l’IRM dans la prise en charge de la maladie de La Peyronie comme un outil dans l’evaluation initiale et au cours de l’algorithme de prise de decision avant le traitement. Methodes Entre 2012 et 2016, tous les patients presentes qui avait consulte pour une suspicion de maladie de La Peyronie ont beneficie d’une evaluation clinique et une IRM du penis. Les donnees des 120 premiers patients ont ete analysees et presentees. Le protocole d’IRM normalisee a ete realisee par un seul radiologue dedie. Il comprend une acquisition de 1,5 Tesla avec des sequences T1, avec et sans le gadolinium, une sequence T2, et une reconstruction 3D de la cartographie des plaques. Le radiologue a egalement effectue une echographie du penis. Resultats Dans l’ensemble, 120 IRM ont ete effectuees chez 110 patients. L’âge moyen de la cohorte etait de 52 ans (24–75). Sept patients ont eu un deuxieme traitement apres des injections de verapamil. IRM nous a permis de detecter jusqu’a 20 % des plaques occultes a l’examen clinique ou les ultrasons, plaques actives ont montre elevees faibles signaux/sur T1 et T2 respectivement alors que les plaques de repos etaient des signaux haut/bas. Correlations des resultats cliniques et IRM ont montre des plaques indolores peuvent rester actives sur l’imagerie. Dans la dependance, plaques actives peuvent etre vus que sur l’IRM et restent occultes a l’examen ou a ultrasons. Conclusion L’IRM dans le cadre de l’evaluation initiale permets : – confirmer les plaques : taille, nombre, localisation et caractere inflammatoire ou non ; – identifier les lesions du corps caverneux qui ne sont pas palpables ; – evaluer la reponse therapeutique apres traitement intra-lesionnels.

Treatments of pelvic organ prolapse are pelvic floor rehabilitation, surgery by abdominal or vaginal route, with or without prosthesis, and pessaries. Since last decade, increasing elderly patients seen for pelvic organ prolapse require to redefine the place of the obliterative vaginal surgery, among the existent surgical procedures. Our objectives were to describe the morbidity associated with colpocleisis, to determine the anatomical results of colpocleisis, and patient's satisfaction.Retrospective case series of 27 patients who underwent a vaginal closure (Lefort) between 2004 and 2010.Twenty-seven patients underwent an obliterative vaginal surgery for genital prolapse. The mean age was 79 years (range 74.5-82.5). The mean surgical time was 70 minutes (range: 60-87.5). We did not notice any per-surgical complication. During follow-up (median: 3 years, extremes: 1-10 years), the global satisfaction rate was 94%. Objective cure rate, defined as the absence of prolapse to the hymen, was 96% (26/27). Only one (3.7%) case of pelvic organ prolapse recurrence occurred and needed surgery.The current study showed that Lefort colpocleisis technique was associated with a good patients' satisfaction and functional results in a population aged over 75.

The aim of this study is to investigate the acquisition of new orthographic word forms among students attending the French "classe de Première" (2 years before entering university). They were assessed on their cognitive and linguistic skills prior to the beginning of the study. We were concerned, first with implicit and then explicit learning. Two issues were considered: on the one hand, individual language or cognitive abilities facilitating or hindering the learning process and, on the other, the factors that make it difficult to memorize and retrieve new words. Results highlight the complementarity of these two learning strategies and show that performance is related to the quality of orthographic lexicon but also varies with infra-lexical and lexical characteristics of the linguistic material studied., L'objectif de ce travail est d'étudier l'apprentissage de formes orthographiques nouvelles chez des élèves de 1re dont nous avons évalué préalablement les capacités cognitives et linguistiques. Cet apprentissage est abordé de manière d'abord implicite puis explicite. Deux questions sont envisagées. La première a trait aux capacités cognitives ou linguistiques individuelles qui favorisent ou au contraire gênent l'apprentissage ; la seconde aborde la question des déterminants de la difficulté de mémorisation et de récupération de mots nouveaux. L'analyse des résultats met en lumière la complémentarité des deux modes d'apprentissage et montre que les performances sont liées à la qualité du lexique orthographique mais varient aussi en fonction des caractéristiques lexicales et infra-lexicales du matériel linguistique étudié.

According to the literature, the current preferred treatment for T3 prostate cancer is a combination of radiotherapy and extended hormone therapy. The preoperative staging based on digital rectal examination results alone now appears obsolete from the investigated series, in which 20% of T3 prostate cancer is over-staged during physical examination. Prostatic magnetic resonance imaging is becoming increasingly necessary to evaluate extraprostatic extension during the preoperative evaluation. European Association of Urology guidelines recommend the use of radical prostatectomy only in selected patients with cT3a who have a PSA20 ng/mL and a biopsy Gleason score ≤8. The cancer control obtained after the implementation of radical prostatectomy is variable from one series to another, with PSA-free survival rates at 5, 10 and 15 years ranging from 45 to 62%, 43 to 51% and 15 to 49%, respectively. The specific survival rates at 5, 10 and 15 years are between 84 and 98%, 84 and 91% and 76 and 84%, respectively. The surgical margins rate varies from 22% to 61% depending on the specific operative technique used and the surgeon's own experience level. Regarding urinary continence, functional outcomes are in line with those of prostatectomy for localized prostate cancer. Upon consideration of erectile dysfunction, the rates are linked with the type of surgery performed, which can at times be fairly extensive. There is no impact on the overall or specific survival rate of neoadjuvant treatments. One of the problems currently depends on the efficacy of early adjuvant treatment after prostatectomy, especially regarding the use of adjuvant external beam radiotherapy. Radical prostatectomy can be considered in selected cases as a viable alternative to the first-line treatment option. However, patients must be counselled that they may undergo complementary treatments during the postoperative course of the disease.
