U. S. Government Regulations requiring 1982 car models to be equipped with Air Cushion Restraint Systems (ACRS) as standard equipment necessitated an estimate of product liability cost (PLC) for both the manufacturers of autos and ACRS's.

It appears that the general cargo market should not be the primary target for a minority shipper. After a more detailed analysis of the market, on a specific commodity basis and by trading areas, a profitable niche may be developed for a minority shipper in the Dry Bulk market, in light of the recently completed Russian grain deal. Fifty percent of that tonnage must be moved in U.S. flag vessels. Under the terms of the new grain treaty, the Soviets are obligated to purchase 5.9 million long tons (2,240 pounds) of grain annually, with the right to purchase two million more tons. The agreement is for five years, beginning in 1976.

Blueberry seedlings were inoculated with Pezizella ericae and grown in peat and pumice potting mix at 3 fertilizer treatments. Fungal inoculation stimulated shoot growth and dry matter production most at 1 application of fertilizer and increased N, S, and Ca shoot concentrations by 17, 47, and 14%, respectively. Increasing application of fertilizer tended to depress mycorrhizal infection levels in inoculated plants.

Henry George brought the classical position to its logical conclusion: rent is an unearned increment.

We have developed a simple macroeconometric model of Bangladesh economy in order to evaluate the Five Year Development Plan. Although the model contains only five behavioral equations and two identities because of restrictions imposed by the availability of data, the sample period ex-post predictions are nearly as good as those of large scale econometric models of the US economy (OBE and WHARTON-EFU models). The consistency of the Five Year Plan was tested by comparing the plan target for major economic aggregates with projections of the same aggregates based on econometric model. Regulated industries such as the telephone industry are generally less competitive than those in the manufacturing sector, due to restricted entry and uniform rate setting. Recently, peripheral competition with AT & T has emerged in areas such as microwave transmission. Telephone companies however, have exclusive markets and interface with competition only at territorial boundaries in the form of inter‐connecting lines. AT &T is a de jure monopoly controlling approximately 85 percent of the U.S. telephone revenues; GTE, its largest competitor, has only 8 percent while independent companies cover the remaining 7 percent.
