Based on the background of Chinese-style modernization, the paper constructed an evaluation index system for development level of digital agriculture, used the projection pursuit model based on accelerated genetic algorithm to measure the development level of digital agriculture, and used the standard deviation ellipse method to describe the spatial location distribution of the development level of digital agriculture. The research results showed that the development level of digital agriculture in China was on the rise as a whole, and the gap between the development levels of digital agriculture in various provinces was gradually expanding. The development level of digital agriculture in various regions showed a decreasing trend in the eastern, central and western regions. The modernization level of infrastructure, human resources, development environment, industrial benefits and agricultural technology innovation of digital agriculture in the eastern developed regions are all ahead of those in the central and western regions. Based on the results, it is proposed to narrow the development gap of digital agriculture according to local conditions, solidify the foundation of high-tech composite talents in digital agriculture, and improve the guarantee measures for the production process of digital agriculture, so as to promote the improvement of the development level of digital agriculture in China.
