Abstract

National audience; This paper provides an overview of hybrid dynamical systems, namely systems that comprise continuous and discrete dynamics. After presenting a mathematical framework that allows describing this class of systems, the key ideas behind the solution and stability concepts are presented mathematically and illustrated by examples. Some sufficient conditions for proving global uniform asymptotic stability are then proposed, by relying on Lyapunov functions, possibly associated with the LaSalle invariance principle.; Cet article propose un tour d’horizon sur les systèmes dynamiques hybrides, c’est-à-dire les systèmes combinant des dynamiques continues et des dynamiques discrète. Après avoir présenté le formalisme hybride qui permet de traiter cette classe de systèmes, les concepts clés de solutions et de stabilité sont abordés via des définitions mathématiques et illustrés par des exemples. Des conditions suffisantes pour prouver la stabilité asymptotique uniforme globale pour un système dynamique hybride sont alors proposées via l’utilisation d’une fonction de Lyapunov, associée dans certains cas au principe d’invariance de LaSalle.

Abstract

This paper deals with the exponential stability of systems made of a hyperbolic PDE coupled with an ODE with different time scales, the dynamics of the PDE being much faster than that of the ODE. Such a difference of time scales is modeled though a small parameter $\varepsilon$ multiplying the time derivative in the PDE, and our stability analysis relies on the singular perturbation method. More precisely, we define two subsystems: a reduced order system, representing the dynamics of the full system in the limit $\varepsilon = 0$, and a boundary-layer system, which represents the dynamics of the PDE in the fast time scale. Our main result shows that, if both the reduced order and the boundary-layer systems are exponentially stable, then the full system is also exponentially stable for $\varepsilon$ small enough, and our strategy is based on a spectral analysis of the systems under consideration. Our main result improves a previous result in the literature, which was proved using a Lyapunov approach and required a stronger assumption on the boundary-layer system to obtain the same conclusion., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, double column format

Abstract

We analyze the stability properties of Lur'e systems with piecewise continuous nonlinearities by exploiting the notion of set-valued Lie derivative for Lur'e-Postnikov Lyapunov functions. We first extend an existing result of the literature to establish the global asymptotic stability of the origin under a more general sector condition. We then present the main results of this work, namely additional conditions under which output and state finite-time stability properties also hold for the considered class of systems. We highlight the relevance of these results by certifying the stability properties of two engineering systems of known interest: mechanical systems affected by friction and cellular neural networks.

International audience; So-called robot-object Lagrangian systems consist of a class of nonsmooth underactuated complementarity Lagrangian systems, with a specific structure: an "object" and a "robot". Only the robot is actuated. The object dynamics can thus be controlled only through the action of the contact Lagrange multipliers, which represent the interaction forces between the robot and the object. Juggling, walking, running, hopping machines, robotic systems that manipulate objects, tapping, pushing systems, kinematic chains with joint clearance, crawling, climbing robots, some cable-driven manipulators, and some circuits with set-valued nonsmooth components, belong this class. This article aims at presenting their main features, then many application examples which belong to the robot-object class, then reviewing the main tools and control strategies which have been proposed in the Automatic Control and in the Robotics literature. Some comments and open issues conclude the article.

Abstract

International audience; This paper is concerned with the relationship between the maximum principle and dynamic programming for a large class of optimal control problems with maximum running cost. Inspired by a technique introduced by Vinter in the 1980s, we are able to obtain jointly a global and a partial sensitivity relation that link the coextremal with the value function of the problem at hand. One of the main contributions of this work is that these relations are derived by using a single perturbed problem, and therefore, both sensitivity relations hold, at the same time, for the same coextremal. As a by-product, and thanks to the level-set approach, we obtain a new set of sensitivity relations for Mayer problems with state constraints. One important feature of this last result is that it holds under mild assumptions, without the need of imposing strong compatibility assumptions between the dynamics and the state constraints set. Abstract

International audience; This article presents an identification benchmark based on data from a public swimming pool in operation. Such a system is both a complex process and easily understandable by all with regard to the stakes. Ultimately, the objective is to reduce the energy bill while maintaining the level of quality of service. This objective is general in scope and is not limited to public swimming pools. This can be done effectively through what is known as economic predictive control. This type of advanced control is based on a process model. It is the aim of this article and the considered benchmark to show that such a dynamic model can be obtained from operating data. For this, operational data is formatted and shared, and model quality indicators are proposed. On this basis, the first identification results illustrate the results obtained by a linear multivariable model on the one hand, and by a neural dynamic model on the other hand. The benchmark calls for other proposals and results from control and data scientists for comparison.

Abstract

Assessing non-negativity of multivariate polynomials over the reals, through the computation of {\em certificates of non-negativity}, is a topical issue in polynomial optimization. This is usually tackled through the computation of {\em sums-of-squares decompositions} which rely on efficient numerical solvers for semi-definite programming. This method faces two difficulties. The first one is that the certificates obtained this way are {\em approximate} and then non-exact. The second one is due to the fact that not all non-negative polynomials are sums-of-squares. In this paper, we build on previous works by Parrilo, Nie, Demmel and Sturmfels who introduced certificates of non-negativity modulo {\em gradient ideals}. We prove that, actually, such certificates can be obtained {\em exactly}, over the rationals if the polynomial under consideration has rational coefficients and we provide {\em exact} algorithms to compute them. Abstract

This article presents an analysis of the stabilization of a multidimensional partial differential wave equation under a well designed event-triggering mechanism that samples the boundary control input. The wave equation is set in a bounded domain and the control is performed through a boundary classical damping term, where the Neumann boundary condition is made proportional to the velocity. First of all, existence and regularity of the solution to the closed- loop system under the event-triggering mechanism of the control are proven. Then, sufficient conditions based on the use of a specific Lyapunov functional are proposed in order to ensure that the solutions converge into a compact set containing the origin, that can be tuned by the designer. Furthermore, as expected, any Zeno behavior of the closed-loop system is avoided.

Abstract

This article presents the development and calibration of a numerical model simulating the response of large structure to a localized dynamic loading. A novel rockfall protection structure composed of piled up concrete blocks interconnected via metallic components is studied, where the underlying intricacies are revealed by real-scale impact experiments. The numerical model is developed using the SICONOS software based on the Non-Smooth Contact Dynamics (NSCD) method to further investigate the efficiency and performance of this new structure type. All geometrical features and mechanical properties of the real structure components are incorporated via specific developments pertinent to the modeling requirements in SICONOS. Some parameters peculiar to the numerical model are calibrated against the spatial-temporal measurements from two full-scale impact experiments. The Bayesian interface statistical learning method aided by the polynomial chaos expansion based meta-model of the NSCD model is deployed for the calibration. The additional understanding of the model dynamics through the byproducts of meta-model are highlighted. In the end, the NSCD model is successfully calibrated against the spatial-temporal response of the experimental structure for impact energies up to 1 MJ.

Abstract

With the increasing presence of robots in our every-day environments, improving their social skills is of utmost importance. Nonetheless, social robotics still faces many challenges. One bottleneck is that robotic behaviors need to be often adapted as social norms depend strongly on the environment. For example, a robot should navigate more carefully around patients in a hospital compared to workers in an office. In this work, we investigate meta-reinforcement learning (meta-RL) as a potential solution. Here, robot behaviors are learned via reinforcement learning where a reward function needs to be chosen so that the robot learns an appropriate behavior for a given environment. We propose to use a variational meta-RL procedure that quickly adapts the robots' behavior to new reward functions. As a result, given a new environment different reward functions can be quickly evaluated and an appropriate one selected. The procedure learns a vectorized representation for reward functions and a meta-policy that can be conditioned on such a representation. Given observations from a new reward function, the procedure identifies its representation and conditions the meta-policy to it. While investigating the procedures' capabilities, we realized that it suffers from posterior collapse where only a subset of the dimensions in the representation encode useful information resulting in a reduced performance. Our second contribution, a radial basis function (RBF) layer, partially mitigates this negative effect. The RBF layer lifts the representation to a higher dimensional space, which is more easily exploitable for the meta-policy. We demonstrate the interest of the RBF layer and the usage of meta-RL for social robotics on four robotic simulation tasks., 16 pages, 14 figures

Abstract

We address the problem of symmetry reduction of optimal control problems under the action of a finite group from a measure relaxation viewpoint. We propose a method based on the moment-SOS aka Lasserre hierarchy which allows one to significantly reduce the computation time and memory requirements compared to the case without symmetry reduction. Abstract

International audience; This paper investigates the event-triggered control problem for perturbed systems under neural network controllers. We propose a novel event-triggering mechanism, based on local sector conditions related to the activation functions, to reduce the computational cost associated with the neural network evaluation. It avoids redundant computations by updating only a portion of the layers instead of evaluating periodically the whole neural network. Sufficient conditions in terms of matrix inequalities are established to design the parameters of the event-triggering mechanism and compute an inner-approximation of the region of attraction for the perturbed feedback system. The theoretical conditions are obtained by using a quadratic Lyapunov function and an abstraction of the activation functions via quadratic constraints to decide whether the outputs of the layers should be transmitted through the network or not. Such conditions allow us to reduce the computational activity on the neural network while preserving the stability and performance level of the perturbed feedback system. To illustrate the efficacy of our approach, we consider the nonlinear inverted pendulum system stabilized by a trained neural network.

International audience; We further develop a novel control paradigm encoding the core behavior of a reset control system within a continuoustime feedback, described by a differential inclusion. A tuning knob allows adjusting how close the continuous-time feedback resembles the behavior of the underlying reset controller. The Lyapunov conditions that we derive naturally lead to a sum-of-squares formulation allowing for the design of max-of-quadratics Lyapunov certificates certified by polynomial multipliers. A few application examples confirm the practical effectiveness of the proposed solutions.

Abstract

International audience; This article focuses on the class of linear systems coupled with a nonlinearity satisfying a sector bound or a monotonic condition. First, we present a set of sufficient conditions based on Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) to establish if such a system defines a contraction. Then, we propose a contractive state-feedback control law designed via the use of LMIs which may include nonlinear terms. Furthermore, the design is extended to the case in which an integral action is included in order to achieve constant output regulation. Following a similar approach, the design of contractive observers for the aforementioned class of systems is also considered. Finally, based on previous conditions, we establish a new nonlinear separation principle in which the feedback and the observer gains may be designed independently. Throughout the paper, we illustrate our results by means of practical examples.

Abstract

This paper focuses on acoustic modeling for active noise control applications. The desired model must be finite dimensional and efficient numerically to meet implementation requirements. It must also be parameterized by the position considered inside the cavity. This additional characteristic is desirable for addressing specific active noise control applications such as optimizing microphone placement, estimating acoustic pressure at different positions of the considered cavity, and finally attenuating noise level in a subarea of the cavity. The main contribution of this paper is to propose a finite-dimensional, low-order, and parameterized acoustic model of a cavity, suitable for active noise control applications. The resulting model is defined as a gray box that combines a one-dimensional analytical model of acoustic propagation, which handles the physical parameterization, and a black-box model that copes with actuator and sensor dynamics as well as modeling errors. The parameters of the proposed model are optimized in order to reproduce the frequency behavior of the real system (LS2N active noise control platform) in a frequency range. This model allows one to accurately reproduce the dynamics at any position in the considered cavity. The prediction performance of the proposed model was compared to a classical black-box model (usually used for active noise control applications) and validated experimentally using the LS2N active noise control platform. The analysis highlighted that the proposed gray-box model can predict the acoustic behavior in a great range of positions.

We consider a scenario in which the system is controlled via a dynamic, finite-dimensional output feedback controller ensuring closed-loop exponential stability. Within this setting, a method is proposed to design a dynamic, finitedimensional anti-windup compensator to maximize the region of attraction and minimize the effect of external perturbations. More precisely, the sufficient conditions for the local exponential stability of the closed-loop system are derived and expressed in terms of a set of matrix inequalities. Using generalized sector conditions and proper change of variables, the conditions are then recast as an optimization problem solving linear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is provided to showcase the proposed method and highlight its effectiveness on the system performance.

Abstract

International audience; This paper addresses a method for fault detection (FD) by maximizing the fault to residual sensitivity. It uses the newly developed H− index properties and minimizing the well known H∞ norm for worst case disturbance attenuation. The fault detection problem is formulated as LMI feasibility problem in which a cost function is minimized subject to LMI constraints. This objective is coupled to a transient response specification expressed by eigenvalue assignment formulation. This approach is then studied for both proper and strictly proper systems. Sufficient conditions are also given to enhance the disturbance decoupling. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is shown by a numerical example.

Abstract

International audience; In this note, we present an implementation of the twisting controller on an electropneumatic plant for a tracking control problem. Implicit and explicit discrete-time twisting controllers are considered, and some implementation details are provided. Experimental results are provided and analyzed. They sustain the theoretical superiority of the implicitly discretized version, as shown in previous work. The main advantages of the implicit method are better tracking and drastic reduction in the input and output chattering. This is achieved without modifying the controller structure compared to its continuous-time version.

Due to the minute displacements of the actuators, flexible hinges are used in a special arrangement in order realize the specified movements and to ensure controllability. Abstract

This paper deals with the modeling of insulation material lifespan in a partial discharge regime. Accelerated aging tests are carried out to determine the lifespan of polyesterimide insulation films under different various stress conditions. The insulation lifespan logarithm is modeled as a function of different factors: the electrical stress logarithms and of an exponential form of the temperature. The model parameters, or so-called factor effects, is estimated on a training set. The significance of the factors is evaluated through the analysis of variance (ANOVA). In a first step, the design of experiment method (DoE) is considered. The associated lifespan model is linear with respect to the factors. This method is well-known for reducing the number of experiments while providing a good accuracy. In a second step, the response surface method (RSm) is considered. This method takes also into account some second order terms and thus possible interactions between the stress factors. Performance of the two methods are analyzed and compared on a test set.

Abstract

International audience; The road profile is one of the most important factors that determine the automotive vehicle performance, specially when it is used to adapt the suspension features. Direct measurements of the road represent expensive solutions and are susceptible to be contaminated. This paper proposes a novel road profile estimation method based on classic vehicle measurements to compute online the road roughness and an ISO 8608 classification; all suspension variables used in the road estimation algorithm are obtained by an H∞ robust observer. The proposed method of road profile estimation is based on the frequency and amplitude estimation of the road irregularities by using a Fourier analysis. Experimental results on the rear-left corner of a 1:5 scale vehicle have been used to validate the proposed road profile estimation method. Different ISO road classes evaluate online the performance of the road identification algorithm, whose results show that any road can be identified at least 70% of success with a false alarm rate lower than 5%; the average error of road identification is 17.46%. A second test with variable vehicle velocity shows the importance of the online frequency estimation to adapt the road estimation algorithm to any driving velocity, in this test the road is correctly estimated 888 of 1,042 m (error of 16.97%).

Abstract

International audience; In this paper, a method for computing reachable sets of uncertain nonlinear continuous-time systems is proposed. The approach, based on Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) inclusions of nonlinear systems, relies on a time-varying change of coordinates which ensures some monotony properties in the new base. A sufficient condition ensuring the non divergence of the enclosures is given. The efficiency of the roposed technique is illustrated through computer simulations and it is compared with simulations resulting from a method proposed in previous works relying on comparison theorems for differential inequalities using MÜller's existence theorem.

Abstract

The strong nonlinear and uncertain parameters of the switched reluctance motor make the traditional controllers difficult to ensure its performance and stable operation under diverse operating conditions. In this paper, we present two designs of H ∞ , robust controller for switched reluctance motor drives for electrical vehicle to aim at attenuating the effect of disturbances and parameters uncertainties. For the application of the H ∞ theory, we have adopted the cascade control architecture (velocity - torque). The first controller of velocity in the outer control loop products the total torque of SRM. Hence, a linear equivalent mechanical dynamic is obtained. In the inner control loop, the phase reference current is determined using the torque-angle-current (T-θ-i) characteristics stored in a tabular form, the torque is regulated indirectly through the second controller of current. The design of both speed and current robust controllers using modern H ∞ control theory is then summarized. For each control loop, two H ∞ synthesis approaches are used and compared by μ-analysis. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the designed robust controllers and confirm the ability of the proposed designs.

Abstract

International audience; Cet article traite de la modélisation d'un haut-parleur électro-dynamique. Les réalisations technologiques font que ces systèmes sont rarement linéaires. Ces non linéarités sont de divers types (suspensions mécaniques , propriétés magnétiques , etc). Cependant, ces transducteurs partagent tous une même propriété physique : en dehors des sources, ce sont des systèmes passifs. Dans ce travail, nous cherchons a exploiter explicitement cette propriété et en particulier les fonctions de stockage énergétique, pour la modélisation non linéaire. L'approche utilisée s'appuie sur les " Systèmes à Hamiltoniens à Ports " dont nous rappelons le formalisme. Il s'agit de systèmes dynamiques ouverts décrits comme des ensembles de composants stockant de l'énergie et de composants dissipant de la puissance, et sont munis de ports d'interconnexion au travers desquels le système peut échanger avec son environnement. Ce formalisme préserve naturellement le comportement énergétique des composants élémentaires et le bilan de leurs échanges de puissance, y compris dans le cas non linéaire. Ceci permet de garantir la passivité des modèles à temps continu. Un modèle non linéaire, paramétrique, à fonctions d'énergie bien posées est produit sur la base d'un dictionnaire de composants élémentaires que nous introduisons. Ce modèle sera utilisé pour de futurs travaux d'estimation et de compensation des non linéarités d'un transducteur.

Abstract

Le foncier est aujourd’hui au cœur des préoccupations de l’agriculture bretonne. La concurrence pour son accès s’accroît, tant avec des usages non agricoles qu’au sein même du monde agricole. De nombreux éléments présagent une intensification des tensions autour de l’utilisation du sol agricole : fin des quotas laitiers, volatilité du prix des céréales, évolution de la réglementation environnementale… Pour des raisons historiques liées à la situation géographique de la Bretagne et à la présence d’une main-d’œuvre nombreuse, les productions hors-sol ont été un des moteurs de l’agriculture bretonne. Or la notion de l’équilibre de la fertilisation, mise en avant dans les projets de réglementation, oblige chaque exploitation à se poser, à plus ou moins long terme, la question de son lien au sol. L'étude LienOSol a pour objectif d’étudier les conditions d’un retour au sol des productions animales en Bretagne, puis d’en évaluer les principales conséquences régionales en termes économiques, sociaux et environnementaux. Pour cela, le marché foncier a été représenté à partir d'un modèle multi-agents, de manière à mettre en concurrence les différents types d’élevage bretons sur le marché de la terre, puis de comparer leur compétitivité et leur capacité à se maintenir face à de nouvelles contraintes de lien au sol (au niveau de l’alimentation des cheptels ou de l’épandage de leurs effluents).

Abstract

The focus of FUSIONS is on promoting food waste prevention by optimising food use and waste prevention strategies. In order to reduce food waste it is necessary to quantify the waste and find the reasons why it occurs. The subject of this report is quantification of food waste all along the value chain from before the material is called food (primary production and processing) until final consumption (household and food service). This report presents the work in FUSIONS on “Quantitative techniques and data integrity”. The work is based on previous FUSIONS reports being “FUSIONS Definitional Framework for Food Waste (Full Report)”, “Review of EUROSTATs reporting method and statistics”, “Report on review of (food) waste reporting methodology and practice” and the participants own experience and knowledge. This report forms an important part of the basis for the “Food waste quantification manual to monitor waste amounts and progression”. The partners BOKU, DLO, IFR, INRA, MTT, OSTFOLD, SIK, and UNIBO have participated in the work, which was led by OSTFOLD and supervised by SIK. Previous work in FUSIONS has shown that there are few studies on food waste and that the methodologies applied have not been harmonized between studies. Thus there is a great need for a harmonized methodology for monitoring of food waste. One important conclusion from this project is that there is not one single method that can be recommended for all applications. This report identifies a number of possible quantification methods that can be used, investigates their advantages and disadvantages, for what applications they should be used and present some guidelines on how to use them. The report also gives some general guidelines on how to proceed when choosing methodology. E.g. first the goal and scope must be determined. If the goal is to reduce pressure on landfills the method(s) chosen will probably be different from a study where the goal is to identify and prioritize food waste reduction measures. Another important step is to determine what data already exists. In general, the following steps must be considered: Identification (is it food waste?), measurement, recording data, collecting data, calculation of waste. The main methods studied are: Measurement, scanning, waste composition analysis, food waste diary, questionnaires, calculations based on existing statistics, interviews and surveys, and mass balances. Recommendations are given for each step in the value chain from primary production, processing & manufacturing, wholesale, retail and marketing, redistribution, food service and households (end users for food preparation and consumption). Some methods have mainly been used in one sector, e.g. scanning in retail, food waste composition analyses for households, direct measurements in production, whereas other are more commonly used in all areas, e.g. interviews and questionnaires.There is little available data on food waste in EU-28 and it might take many years to rectify this situation. One concern is that this will be a barrier towards identifying and implementing measures to reduce food waste amounts. In this report a simplified framework for quantification of food waste is suggested that can be used to fill data gaps until detailed food waste data is available.The report also gives advice on data quality, schemes to classify companies and food products, food waste prevention methodologies and waste treatment.

Abstract

International audience; In this paper, we present a new Linear Parameter Varying LPV/H∞ motion adaptive suspension controller that takes into account the three main motions of the vehicle vertical dynamics: bounce, roll and pitch motions that affect the passengers’ comfort. The new approach aims, by using a detection of the vehicle motions, at designing a controller which is able to adapt the suspension forces in the four corners of the vehicle according to the dynamical motions, in order to mitigate the road-induced vibrations. The main idea of this strategy is to use three scheduling parameters, representative of the motion distribution in the car dynamics, to adapt and distribute efficiently the suspension actuators. The motion detection strategy is following two possible methods: a motion mode energy method (obtained from the literature) and a load transfer distribution one. A full 7 degree of freedom (DOF) vertical model is used to describe the body motion (chassis and wheels), and to synthesize the LPV controller. The controller solution is derived in the framework of the LPV/H∞ and based on the LMI solution for polytopic systems. Some simulation results will demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.

Abstract

In this paper we introduce a numerical scheme which preserves the behavior of solutions to the Kolmogorov Equation as time tends to infinity. The method presented is based on a self-similar change of variables technique to transform the Kolmogorov Equation into a new form, such that the problem of designing structure preserving schemes, for the original equation, amounts to building a standard scheme for the transformed equation. This transformation also has the added benefit of allowing for an exact operator splitting scheme, whereas in the original form a standard operator splitting was only second-order. Finally, we verify the preservation of long time behavior through numerical simulations.

Abstract

In this article, the contrast imaging problem by saturation in nuclear magnetic resonance is modeled as a Mayer problem in optimal control. The optimal solution can be found as an extremal solution of the Maximum Principle and analyzed with the recent advanced techniques of geometric optimal control. This leads to a numerical investigation based on shooting and continuation methods implemented in the HamPath software. The results are compared with a direct approach to the optimization problem and implemented within the Bocop toolbox. In complement lmi techniques are used to estimate a global optimum. It is completed with the analysis of the saturation problem of an ensemble of spin particles to deal with magnetic fields inhomogeneities.

Abstract

International audience; Par2 is a two-degree-of-freedom parallel robot designed for high-speed and high-accuracy industrial pick-and-place operation tasks. As a result of the high acceleration trajec-tories, the end-effector undergoes some undesirable vibrations after reaching the stop positions, compromising its precision and leading therefore to an increase in the operation cycle time. Accelerometer sensors placed on the end-effector and piezoelectric patch actuators wrapped around the robot arms are employed in order to actively reduce these vibrations in a non-collocated closed-loop setting. After submitting the robot to an identification procedure, the obtained nominal model is used to synthesize a reduced order controller with the H ∞ Loop Shaping technique. Performance analysis as well as simulation and experimental results exhibit that vibration reduction is achieved around the nominal operating point, but fails for some extreme operating points, due to high control efforts. An anti-windup strategy is then employed to deal with the saturation of the actuator, which allows to achieve vibration attenuation on the whole operation domain, for a given configuration of the robot at the stop point.

Abstract

Le projet IDEALG a pour objectif de développer la filière des macroalgues en France à travers de nombreux axes de recherche. Le Pôle halieutique AGROCAMPUS OUEST, au sein du WP8 s’intéresse plus particulièrement au marché des algues alimentaires françaises. La consommation des algues alimentaires est un phénomène émergeant en France et en Europe. Cependant, le fait d’avoir très peu d’informations sur la consommation d’algues au niveau national est un frein pour les industriels de la filière des algues alimentaires. La problématique d’étude traitée au sein d’AGROCAMPUS OUEST est donc la suivante : « Comment développer le marché des algues alimentaires? ». Ce rapport présente la vision des non consommateurs sur les algues alimentaires. Ces données sont issues de focus groups pour la plupart, grâce à des méthodes projectives.

Abstract

This literature review first presents the credit constraints faced by small and medium firms and the instruments that could be implemented to reduce such constraints. In this first part, we also present different impact evaluation methods and describe the ones that could be used for the different instruments above mentioned. We then review three types of instruments which are often implemented: credit lines, guarantee mechanisms and investment funds. For each of these instruments, we present its aims and objectives, as well as the way to evaluate it. We also expose the results of some evaluations previously conducted and available in the literature. For each instrument, we also highlight some specific insights and potentially useful for the French Agency of Development.; Cette revue de littérature présente dans une première partie les contraintes d’accès au crédit des PME auxquelles différents mécanismes de soutien sont censés répondre afin de déterminer les composantes de ces programmes qu’il est pertinent d’étudier. Toujours dans cette première partie, les auteurs présentent les différentes méthodes d’évaluation d’impact et décrivent les méthodes réalisables selon les types de programmes de soutien à l’accès au crédit des PME. Ensuite, ils détaillent trois types d’instruments très utilisés : lignes de crédit, fonds de garantie et fonds d’investissement. Pour chacun de ces trois instruments, les auteurs reviennent sur les objectifs et les modalités de l’instrument, puis ils exposent les méthodes d’évaluations envisageables ainsi que les applications concrètes que l’on peut trouver dans la littérature. Ils tentent enfin, pour chaque instrument, de développer quelques conclusions spécifiques aux instruments de l’AFD.

Abstract

Le projet IDEALG a pour objectif de développer la filière des macroalgues en France à travers de nombreux axes de recherche. Le Pôle halieutique AGROCAMPUS OUEST, au sein du WP8 s’intéresse plus particulièrement au marché des algues alimentaires françaises. La consommation des algues alimentaires est un phénomène émergeant en France et en Europe. Cependant, le fait d’avoir très peu d’informations sur la consommation d’algues au niveau national est un frein pour les industriels de la filière des algues alimentaires. La problématique d’étude traitée au sein d’AGROCAMPUS OUEST est donc la suivante : « Comment développer le marché des algues alimentaires ? ». Ce rapport, le premier de la série sur la consommation des algues alimentaires, présente le contexte mondial et national des algues pour mieux comprendre l’environnement dans lequel se place notre étude. Ce rapport contient aussi toute la méthodologie utilisée dans les travaux qui seront présentés dans les rapports suivants.
