Background: Liposuction has emerged as one of the most common cosmetic procedures globally, increasing by more than two-fold since 1997. While different liposuction techniques exist, each with distinct advantages and potential sequelae, a comprehensive comparative analysis of complication rates across various techniques in purely aesthetic cases remains unexplored. We aimed to (1) systematically review the literature on complications of distinctliposuction techniques, and (2) compare complication rates between different techniques. Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science databases were searched for studies reporting on complications of isolated cosmetic liposuction techniques in specific anatomical regions. Complication rates were pooled, and heterogeneity was assessed using the I² statistic. Publication bias was evaluated using the Luis Furuya-Kanamori index and Doi plot. Results: Twenty-three studies were included. Laser-assisted liposuction (LAL) demonstrated the lowest overall complication rates for hemorrhage, infection, seroma formation, thermal injury, and cutaneous necrosis (all 0.13%). Power-assisted liposuction (PAL) exhibited the highest rates for hemorrhage (0.72%), infection (1.34%), and cutaneous necrosis (0.72%). Radiofrequency-assisted liposuction (RFAL) showed the highest rates for seroma formation (3.93%) and thermal injuries/blistering (1.64%). Suction-assisted liposuction (SAL) presented the highest rate of cutaneous irregularities (3.36%). Heterogeneity varied widely across complication types and techniques, with I² values ranging from 0 to 91.4%. Conclusions: This study provides the first comprehensive comparison of complication rates across different liposuction techniques in aesthetic cases. LAL demonstrated superior safety profiles, while PAL and RAL showed higher rates for specific complications. These findings can inform surgical decision-making and patient counseling. Objectives: To evaluate the reporting quality of Scoping Reviews (ScRs) in endodontics according to the PRISMA Extension Checklist for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA‐ScR) and to analyse their association with a range of publication and methodological/reporting characteristics. Methods: Pubmed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were searched up to 31 January 2024 to identify scoping reviews in the field of endodontics. An additional search was performed in three leading endodontic journals. Study selection and appraising the quality of the studies was carried out independently by two reviewers. Each of the 20 PRISMA‐ScR items were allocated a score of either 0, 0.5 or 1 to reflect the completeness of the reporting. An item‐specific and overall percentage reporting quality score was calculated and reported through descriptive statistics across a range of publication, as well as methodological/reporting characteristics. A univariable and multivariable quantile regression was performed to identify the effect of publication and methodological/reporting characteristics (year of publication, journal, inclusion of an appropriate reporting guideline, and study registration) on the overall percentage reporting quality score. Association of reporting quality score with publication characteristics was then investigated. Results: A total of 40 ScRs were identified and included for appraisal. Most of the studies were published from 2021 onwards. The overall median reporting quality score was 86%. The most frequent items not included in the studies were: a priori protocol registration (22/40 compliant; 55%), and reporting of funding (16/40 compliant; 40%). Other key elements that were inadequately reported were the abstract (7/40 compliant; 18%), the rationale and justification of the ScR (21/40 compliant; 52%) and the objectives of the study (18/40 compliant; 45%). Studies that adhered to appropriate reporting guidelines were associated with greater reporting quality scores (β‐coefficient: 10; 95%CI: 1.1, 18.9; p =.03). ScRs with protocols registered a priori had significantly greater reporting quality scores (β‐coefficient: 12.5; 95%CI: 6.1, 18.9; p <.001), compared with non‐registered reviews. Conclusions: The reporting quality of the ScRs in endodontics varied and was greater when the ScR protocols were registered a priori and when the authors adhered to reporting guidelines. Objectives: Thermosensitive hydrogels are now among the most commonly used biomaterials in tissue engineering. Due to their unique characteristics, this review aimed to evaluate the suitability of thermosensitive hydrogels in periodontal regeneration. Material and Methods: PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were searched until March 25, 2024, to retrieve relevant articles. The eligibility criteria for the included studies were determined by the designed PICO elements. Results from each included study were extracted, focusing on the three main areas: thermosensitivity, cellular characteristics, and in vivo characteristics. Results: Nineteen studies were included in our study. The thermosensitivity assessment of the hydrogels indicated a range of sol–gel transition times from 40 s to 20 min based on the type of polymers and the fabrication process. The cellular characterization was assessed based on three main cellular behaviors: cellular viability/proliferation, differentiation, and migration. The in vivo characterization was performed based on two main approaches: radiographic and histologic evaluation. Conclusions: The results indicated that the addition of bioactive agents could enhance the in vivo efficacy of thermosensitive hydrogels in periodontal regeneration through three main areas: antimicrobial, anti‐inflammatory, and regenerative effects. BACKGROUND: Research on physical activity and executive function continues to emerge, but no scholars have used visual tools to explore the dynamic evolution path of research topics in this field. OBJECTIVE: To explore the dynamic evolution process of research topics in the field of physical activity and executive function using bibliometrics methos, so as to clarify their development status and changes in knowledge structure. METHODS: The Web of Science database was searched by the search formula: TS=(“Physical activity” AND “Executive function*”) OR TS=(Exercise AND “Executive function*”). According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 4 386 relevant documents were selected as content, and SciMAT software was used for visual analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The field of physical activity and executive function is booming, with more and more in-depth research and more room for future development. This field can be divided into four directions: executive function, children, the elderly, and intervention, and forms 11 main evolutionary paths. Topics such as “motor skills,” “lifestyle,” “aerobic exercise,” and “interventions” are likely to be the focus of future research, with the “adolescent” and “elderly” groups being the focus of research in this area. In recent years, the installed capacity increment with regard to solar power generation has been highlighted as a crucial role played by Photovoltaic (PV) generation forecasting in integrating a growing number of distributed PV sites into power systems. Nevertheless, because of the PV generation's unpredictable nature, deterministic point forecast methods struggle to accurately assess the uncertainties associated with PV generation. This paper presents a detailed structured review of the state-of-the-art concerning Probabilistic Solar Power Forecasting (PSPF), which covers forecasting methods, model comparison, forecasting horizon and quantification metrics. Our review methodology leverages the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach to systematically identify primary data sources, focusing on keywords such as probabilistic forecasting, Deep Learning (DL), and Machine learning (ML). Through an extensive and rigorous search of renowned databases such as SCOPUS and Web of Science (WoS), we identified 36 relevant studies (n=36). Consequently, expert scholars decided to develop three themes: (1) Conventional PSPF, (2) PSPF utilizing ML, and (3) PSPF using DL. Probabilistic forecasting is an invaluable tool concerning power systems, especially regarding the rising proportion of renewable energy sources in the energy mix. We tackle the inherent uncertainty of renewable generation, maintain grid stability, and promote efficient energy management and planning. The primary aim of this was to assess the effectiveness of stretching for improving shoulder range of motion (ROM) in overhead athletes with glenohumeral internal rotation deficit (GIRD). The secondary aims were to compare whether the combination of stretching plus manual therapy was more effective than stretching in isolation and if any stretching technique was superior to others. A systematic review and a meta-analysis were designed. The MEDLINE, PEDro, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases were searched. Clinical trials investigating the effects of stretching in isolation or combined with other manual therapy techniques on ROM and pain intensity in athletes with GIRD were included. The PEDro scale was used to assess the methodological quality of the studies, and the certainty of evidence was assessed using the GRADE tool. Two independent assessors extracted data through a standardized form. The random-effects models were applied. Sixteen randomized controlled trials were included in this systematic review with a meta-analysis, with a methodological quality ranging from high to low. The stretching techniques in isolation showed statistically significant improvements in internal rotation and horizontal adduction ROM. Adding glenohumeral dorsal gliding to a stretching protocol showed better improvement in internal rotation ROM than stretching in isolation. Stretching techniques with manual stabilization showed better benefits than self-stretching techniques. A very low certainty of evidence suggests that stretching produces statistically significant changes for improving ROM in patients with glenohumeral internal rotation deficit. Introduction:Over the years, the conceptual approach to pediatric rehabilitation has reevaluated the parent's role in the therapeutic process, considering parental involvement as a necessary condition for the effectiveness of the intervention. In the field of pediatric intervention, the therapeutic use of robots represents a growing clinical interest, but the feasibility and applicability of these robotic interventions, including those involving parents, remain unclear. This systematic review aims to investigate parental involvement in robot-mediated interventions (RMI) for children and adolescents in the current literature. Our main goal is to analyze and summarize all existing studies to discuss and draw future research directions and implications for clinical practice. Method: After collecting results from 1,106 studies, the studies selected were analyzed using thematic analysis. The literature review was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines by searching databases such as PubMed and Web of Science until 07 February 2023. Studies that met the following inclusion criteria were included: (1) the use of a robot as a therapeutic-rehabilitation tool and (2) the presence/involvement of parents/caregivers in child-robot therapeutic sessions. Results: A total of 10 articles were included. The extracted data included study design, participant characteristics, type of robot used, outcome measures, aim, and type of intervention. The results reveal that parental involvement in RMI could be feasible and useful in improving intervention efficacy, particularly in improving the child's social-communicative abilities and the caregiver's educational skills. Discussion: RMI intervention with parental participation could be a useful therapeutic strategy in pediatrics. However, to date, fewstudies have investigated this specific topic, and the reported results may enhance future research to understand its effectiveness in specific areas of use. Background: Clear aligner treatments have gained popularity due to their aesthetic advantages over traditional metal brackets. Attachments play a crucial role in enhancing the efficacy of treatment by addressing challenges posed by the flexibility of aligner materials. This comprehensive review aims to clarify the significance of attachments used during clear aligner therapy and explore the nuances of their design, placement, and material selection. Methods: A systematic search of literature databases including Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Cochrane was conducted. Twelve sets of keywords related to clear aligner therapy and attachments were applied for the search. Results: A total of 24 studies that met the inclusion criteria and focused on the biomechanics of attachments, attachment shape, attachment placement and materials used in attachment production were included in the analysis. Conclusion: Within the limits of the review, the use of attachments in clear aligner therapy can enhance the efficacy of treatment by facilitating complex tooth movements. The selection of materials, as well as the design and positioning strategies of attachments, should be customised for each patient to optimise treatment success. By the use of clinical studies, future research should focus on the long-term performance of attachments to confirm their effectiveness in achieving planned tooth movements, particularly regarding design, positioning, and the materials used. Background: The Arbaeen Pilgrimage, a momentous religious journey drawing millions of participants annually, presents a profound spiritual experience. However, amidst its significance lie various health challenges that pilgrims encounter along the way. Addressing these challenges is vital to ensure the well-being of participants and the success of this extraordinary event. In light of this, the aim of this study is to examine the health challenges of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, identify facilitators for solving these challenges, and propose effective solutions to enhance the overall pilgrimage experience for all involved. Methods: The scoping review was performed by searching databases such as Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar search engine with a focus on the keywords "Arbaeen", "Arbaeen walk" and "Arbaeen pilgrimage". The search was not constrained by a specific time limitation in the databases. Data from studies were extracted using a data extraction form consisting of 9 fields. The selection of articles and data extraction were carried out by two researchers, adhering to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Any disagreements were resolved through consultation with a third researcher. The study was reported following the PRISMA checklist. Results: Out of 1619 retrieved articles, 9 were finally included in this study. All these studies were published since 2017 and conducted in Iraq and Iran. In total, 101 health challenges and facilitators were identified, comprising 61 challenges and 40 facilitators. The challenges with the highest frequency included "infectious disease outbreaks" (n = 7), "Poor management of Iraq's health system in waste collection and disposal" (n = 4), "Rising incidence of walking injuries among pilgrims (e.g., burns, fractures, lacerations, wounds, and blisters)" (n = 4), and "Insufficient knowledge about personal and public health"(n = 4). The most important facilitators to solving the challenges were: "Customized pilgrim training and addressing their issues, with a focus on vital practices" (n = 6), "Coordinating mass gathering stakeholders, including health ministries and organizations" (n = 4), and "Implementing an agile syndromic system for rapid surveillance and identification of contagious illnesses" (n = 4). Conclusion: The article discusses health challenges faced during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage and proposes facilitative measures for participants' well-being. It emphasizes the significance of addressing health risks in large gatherings and suggests incorporating measures for a safer and enjoyable pilgrimage experience. Overall, understanding and managing these health factors can lead to a successful execution of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, benefiting the physical and spiritual well-being of all involved. The purpose of this review was to identify the effectiveness of environmental control (EC) non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) in reducing transmission of SARS-CoV-2 through conducting a systematic review. EC NPIs considered in this review are room ventilation, air filtration/cleaning, room occupancy, surface disinfection, barrier devices, CO2 monitoring and one-way-systems. Systematic searches of databases from Web of Science, Medline, EMBASE, preprint servers MedRxiv and BioRxiv were conducted in order to identify studies reported between 1 January 2020 and 1 December 2022. All articles reporting on the effectiveness of ventilation, air filtration/cleaning, room occupancy, surface disinfection, barrier devices, CO2 monitoring and one-way systems in reducing transmission of SARS-CoV-2 were retrieved and screened. In total, 13 971 articles were identified for screening. The initial title and abstract screening identified 1328 articles for full text review. Overall, 19 references provided evidence for the effectiveness of NPIs: 12 reported on ventilation, 4 on air cleaning devices, 5 on surface disinfection, 6 on room occupancy and 1 on screens/barriers. No studies were found that considered the effectiveness of CO2 monitoring or the implementation of one-way systems. Many of these studies were assessed to have critical risk of bias in at least one domain, largely due to confounding factors that could have affected the measured outcomes. As a result, there is low confidence in the findings. Evidence suggests that EC NPIs of ventilation, air cleaning devices and reduction in room-occupancy may have a role in reducing transmission in certain settings. However, the evidence was usually of low or very low quality and certainty, and hence the level of confidence ascribed to this conclusion is low. Based on the evidence found, it was not possible to draw any specific conclusions regarding the effectiveness of surface disinfection and the use of barrier devices. From these results, we further conclude that community agreed standards for well-designed epidemiological studies with low risk of bias are needed. Implementation of such standards would enable more confident assessment in the future of the effectiveness of EC NPIs in reducing transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and other pathogens in real-world settings. Background: Blood coagulation disorders are one of the causes of mortality. Therefore, the study of coagulation disorders is also important. This systematic review was conducted to investigate blood coagulation disorders in the Iranian population. Methods: Searches in electronic databases such as Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, SID, ProQuest, and Magiran from May 10, 1990 to May 10, 2019 were performed according to PRISMA guidelines. Cross-sectional, cohort, experimental, and case-control studies were included according to the inclusion criteria without gender and language restrictions. Results: After screening and selection, 14 studies were selected for data extraction. Accordingly, the most common blood coagulation disorder in the south of Iran was a defect in FXIII (599 of 1,165). C.559T>C (27 of 189) and c.562T>C (20 of 189) mutations had the highest frequency. The most common FXIII polymorphism among the Iranian Azerbaijanis was Val34Leu (203 of 410). The second most common coagulation disorder was FV Leiden (396 of 1,165). Then, c.1691G>A (151 of 396) was the most common mutation. Conclusions: This study shows that the most critical coagulation disorder among the Iranian population is FXIII deficiency and the most common mutation is c.562T>C. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) is widely applied in cancer field nowadays. The aim of this study is to explore the hotspots and trends of AI in cancer research. Methods: The retrieval term includes four topic words ("tumor," "cancer," "carcinoma," and "artificial intelligence"), which were searched in the database of Web of Science from January 1983 to December 2022. Then, we documented and processed all data, including the country, continent, Journal Impact Factor, and so on using the bibliometric software. Results: A total of 6,920 papers were collected and analyzed. We presented the annual publications and citations, most productive countries/regions, most influential scholars, the collaborations of journals and institutions, and research focus and hotspots in AI-based cancer research. Background: Vestibular dysfunction has been extensively studied amongst the older population. Recently, conditions and management of vestibular dysfunction among children and adolescent has gained attention. Yet, a lack of awareness and expertise in managing children and adolescents with vestibular dysfunction has led to a delay in diagnosis as well as a trifling prevalence rate. Aim: To conduct a systematic review and meta-analyses to estimate the overall pooled prevalence of vestibular dysfunction in children and adolescents. Methods: PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were searched to identify studies published until 29 April 2022. We used a random‐effects model to estimate the pooled prevalence with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Heterogeneity was assessed using the I2 statistic and Cochran's Q test. The robustness of the pooled estimates was checked by different subgroups and sensitivity analyses. Results: We identified 1811 studies, of which 39 studies (n = 323,663) were included in the meta‐analysis. Overall, the pooled prevalence of children and adolescents with VD was 30.4% [95% CI 28.5–32.3%]. The age of the participants ranged from 1 to 19 years. Participants of the included 39 studies were from 15 countries. Among the studies, 34 were cross-sectional, and five were case–control designed. There were discrepancies found in the studies with objective (higher prevalence) versus subjective (lower prevalence) evaluations. Conclusion: The prevalence of VD among children and adolescents was found to be 30.4% based on high-quality evidence. Due to the subjective assessment of most studies pooled in the analysis, the results should be interpreted cautiously until future comparative studies with objective assessments are carried out. Aside from stressors that each of us experience directly, we also share the stress of the people around us. Such empathic stress exists on psychological and physiological levels, including subjective, sympathetic, parasympathetic and endocrine activation. The objective of this review is to offer an overview of methodology over the past fifteen years of empathic stress research and derive practical considerations for future research endeavors in the field. We used a keyword search strategy in the databases Web of Science, PsycInfo and PubMed to find empathic stress studies published until December 2023, and included 17 studies into our review. The reviewed laboratory studies provide initial yet consistent evidence for the existence of empathic stress across different populations, in intimate and stranger dyads, with direct and virtual contact, across multiple levels of the stress system, and based on diverse statistical analysis methods. We discuss all findings and derive practical considerations for future empathic stress research. OBJECTIVE: To perform a Meta-analysis to comprehensively and quantitatively evaluate the effects of short foot training on foot and ankle function in patients with flat feet, and to provide a theoretical basis for more effective training in patients with flat feet. METHODS: Chinese and foreign literature databases such as Web of Science, The Cochrane Library, PubMed, Embase, CNKI database, VIP database, and China Biomedical Literature Database were searched. The search time was from database inception to January 31, 2022. Chinese database search terms and search formula: (flatfoot OR valgus foot OR stiff foot) AND (short foot training OR physical therapy). English database search terms and search formula: (flatfoot OR talipes valgus OR talipes calcaneovalgus) AND (short foot exercises OR physical therapy OR neurophysiotherapy). The Cochrane risk of bias assessment tool was selected to evaluate the quality of the included literature, and all included articles were analyzed for outcome indicators (navicular drop and foot posture index) using Revman 5.4 and Stata 12.0 software. RESULTS: A total of 12 papers with 443 subjects were included. Five were moderate risk of bias and seven were low risk of bias literature. Short-foot training could reduce navicular drop [standardized mean difference (SMD)=-0.59, P < 0.05). Subject age (regression coefficient: -1.563 9, P=0.004), body mass index (regression coefficient: -1.563 9, P=0.023) and intervention duration (regression coefficient: -1.445 6, P=0.042) influenced the overall effect of the included literature. Short foot training showed insignificant effects on foot posture index (SMD=-0.26, P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Short-foot training can effectively reduce navicular drop in patients with flat foot but has no clear effects on foot posture index. Age, body mass index, and intervention time are the factors that influence the effectiveness of short-foot training interventions and are the factors that need to be considered when conducting relevant studies and organizing rehabilitation training for patients with flat feet. The changes implemented in 2005 in the development strategies of Antarctic science carried out by Chile have had a positive impact on the scientific productivity of the Chilean Antarctic Science Program (PROCIEN). We analysed scientometric indicators from between 2009 and 2019. The bibliographic data were extracted from the Web of Science database using search query keywords. We used multiple correspondence analysis to identify specific trends and also network analyses of international collaboration in VOSviewer. The number of Antarctic science publications in Chile has gradually increased from 21 in 2009 to 95 in 2019. The rise in the number of articles was higher in journals for the first impact factor quartile. Research lines showing increased first-quartile impact factor papers corresponded to Antarctic ecosystems, biotechnology and geosciences. The main geographical domains in which such research activities have been carried out corresponded to in the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. Fieldwork data are the main sources for the production of scientific articles, and there are three science platforms within which most of these papers concentrate. The diversification of funding sources, the implementation of improvements in the selection process and Chile's alignment with Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research programmes have contributed to improving the science that Chile has developed in Antarctica. Medicinal herbs databases have become a crucial part of organizing new scientific literature generated in medicinal herbs field, as well as new drug discoveries in the information era. The aim of this review was to track the current status of medicinal herbs databases. Search for finding medicinal herbs databases was carried out via Google and PubMed. PubMed was searched for papers introducing medicinal herbs databases by the recruited search strategy. Papers with an active database on the web were included in the review. Google was also searched for medicinal herbs databases. Both retrieved papers and databases were reviewed by the authors. In this review, the current status of 25 medicinal herbs databases was reviewed, and the important characteristics of databases were mentioned. The reviewed databases had a great variety in terms of characteristics and functions. Finally, some recommendations for the efficient development of medicinal herbs databases were suggested. Although contemporary medicinal herbs databases represent much useful information, adding some features to these databases could assist them to have better functionality. This work may not cover all the necessary information, but we hope that our review can provide readers with fundamental concepts, perspectives and suggestions for constructing more useful databases. The complete and detailed reporting of the search process in systematic reviews is vital for their reproducibility and to evaluate the rigor and reliability of the results. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the transparency and reproducibility of search strategies in systematic reviews published in spanish Library and Information Science journals. For this purpose, the databases Web of Science and Scopus were searched for articles published in these journals identified as systematic or systematized literature reviews. Thirty-five reviews were finally selected and the presence of elements related to the search for information recommended in the PRISMA-S guide was evaluated: complete search strategy, keywords and search terms, time period searched, number of studies retrieved, names of databases searched and limits or filters applied. There are a very deficient reporting of the elements related to the search for information. The majority of the reviews do not provide a complete search strategy and 25 % do not provide keywords either, with the name of the databases searched being the most frequently described element (91,4 %). No differences were found in the information provided in the reviews published by librarians or information professionals and those from other disciplines. The concept of mental health literacy (MHL) refers to knowledge and beliefs about mental disorders. Improving MHL can have a significant impact on individuals and society at large. The aim of the study was to review the scientific production related to MHL, analyze its characteristics, and identify the strengths and weaknesses of the proposed interventions. A systematic review of the literature was carried out by searches in the databases Web of Science (WOS) and Scopus. One hundred and six articles have been selected and analyzed. The results are organized into 4 categories: Conceptualization of MHL and how to materialize it, educational programs, MHL assessment instruments, and studies on MHL levels. The concept of MHL is disseminated around the world despite the lack of conceptual consensus. It is materialized mainly through educational interventions with diverse methodologies. Although there are limitations in measuring MHL, in general, the levels are low in different population groups and on specific mental health problems. In short, specific actions that require further development of applicable programs for the information and prevention of mental health problems were found as a priority. The French enlightenment thinkers are recognized in the history of European scientific thought, appearing in school textbooks. However, contemporary Hispanic scholars of that time have been rescued by their intellectual height recently, since the nineties. The scientific production of the Universalist School is analyzed in the form of a bibliometric review, with special emphasis on the figure of Juan Andrés. The scientific articles are searched in two databases: Web of Science and Dialnet. The results provide a sample of 51 articles from 2001 to 2020 by 15 researchers, mostly Hispanic and male, among whom Astorgano Abajo and Aullón de Haro stand out. The articles are classified in humanities works of the type of historical reconstruction and philological hermeneutics in journals not only in the humanities, but also in the social sciences. Most of them are of a specialized nature on authors of this school or on specific issues. It is concluded that these topics have been scientifically consolidated by their persistence, deepening, extension, quality, diffusion and by arousing a transdisciplinary interest. Introduction. Depression and metabolic syndrome (MetS) are important public health problems. This systematic review evaluated whether the atypical subtype of depression is associated with MetS, when compared to other depressive subtypes. Methods. Two independent reviewers searched in Medline, Lilacs, PsycInfo, Scopus and Web of Science databases, up to May 2021, without language restriction, including cross-sectional, case-control, and cohort studies, assessing adults. The methodological quality of the studies was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. The PRISMA guidelines were adopted and this review was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42018109762). Results. The databases search identified 96 articles and 6 was included in this review. The methodological quality scores ranged from 7 to 10 points. The association between atypical depression and MetS was demonstrated in all publications, as well as the lack of association with melancholic and other subtypes. The prevalence of MetS was significantly higher among individuals with atypical depression. It is worth noting that only few studies assessing this comorbidity were conducted so far. Conclusions. MetS is associated with atypical depression, but not with melancholic or other subtypes. The identification of distinct depressive clinical features seems crucial to better understand its comorbidity with MetS and elucidate its pathophysiological pathways, both necessary to better guide prevention and treatment strategies. Aim: Facial soft tissue assessment in orthodontics influences diagnosis, treatment plan, treatment approach, and prediction of potential relapse. It is also paramount in facial aesthetics forethought and outcome. Thus, optimum assessment is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. This article aims to provide a broad overview of the evolution of profiles and soft tissue assessment methods established, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of techniques available in the field. Materials and Methods: Data were obtained by an electronic search through databases of PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. Results: Literature search in PubMed database using the free-text terms:“((facial profile) OR (soft tissue)) AND (methods orthodontic assessment)” presented with 811 articles from 1978 to August 2021. A search in the Scopus database under the same key words resulted in 1818 relevant primary documents indexed in Scopus from the year 1970 to 2021, whereby Web of Science database yielded 12 articles. A search on google scholar by “facial profile and soft tissue methods of orthodontic assessment” keywords gave out 24,200 articles published. Thirty-one significant articles were included in this review. Conclusion: This review provided simplified information on transformation of profile and soft tissue diagnosis techniques alongside technological advancement in orthodontic practice that has taken place over the years. The evolution from conventional to advanced techniques carries their own strengths and weaknesses. Purpose: To assess the recovery of extension and improvement in functional scores after an arthroscopic or open posterior knee capsulotomy in the setting of an extension deficit. Methods: A systematic search of articles published between 1980 and 2020 was performed in the MEDLINE/PubMed database, EMBASE/Ovid database and Web of Science database. The inclusion criteria consisted of patients with primary extension deficits > 5° who underwent an arthroscopic or open posterior knee capsulotomy. The assessed outcomes were preoperative and postoperative range of motion and functional outcome scores. Randomized controlled trials, cohort studies and case series with a follow-up longer than 6 months were included. The risk of bias was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal tool for case series. The certainty of evidence was assessed using the GRADE approach. Results: Of 226 records identified through database searching, 7 studies were included in the final analysis. The outcomes of 107 patients with a mean age of 34.1 (range 15–63) years were available. In all the included studies, a posterior capsulotomy resulted in the restoration of knee extension to normal or nearly normal values (mean postoperative extension deficit: 0.4–4.2 degrees) with a significant increase in functional outcome scores. No neurovascular complications were reported within the studies. Due to the diverse methodology of studies, the direct comparison of arthroscopic versus open approaches was not possible. Concerning the risk of bias assessment, the greatest concerns raised the selection of participants among the included studies and the methods of outcome measurement. The certainty of evidence was very low according to the GRADE. Conclusions: Both arthroscopic and open posterior capsulotomy of the knee results in restoration of normal or nearly normal knee extension and significant improvement in functional outcomes. This study seeks to establish whether news sharing in social media is a mature field of research by using bibliometrics as a tool. The Web of Science database was searched for articles that contained the term ‘news sharing’ in titles, keywords, and abstracts. A total of 133 articles was obtained, which enabled us to address the question of whether there are well-established journals and authors that cover the subject. The results show a certain ambiguity, which could explain why the chosen subject matter is often studied in fields outside of Communication Studies; however, while studies on news sharing are conducted by researchers from heterogeneous fields, this has not translated into greater interdisciplinarity. Summary Emerging evidences have suggested that liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS) of proteins plays a vital role both in a wide range of biological processes and in related diseases. Whether a protein undergoes phase separation not only is determined by the chemical and physical properties of biomolecule themselves, but also is regulated by environmental conditions such as temperature, ionic strength, pH, as well as volume excluded by other macromolecules. A web accessible database LLPSDB was developed recently by our group, in which all the proteins involved in LLPS in vitro as well as corresponding experimental conditions were curated comprehensively from published literatures. With the rapid increase of investigations in biomolecular LLPS and growing popularity of LLPSDB, we updated the database, and developed a new version LLPSDB v2.0. In comparison of the previously released version, more than double contents of data are curated, and a new class 'Ambiguous system' is added. In addition, the web interface is improved, such as that users can search the database by selecting option 'phase separation status' alone or combined with other options. We anticipate that this updated database will serve as a more comprehensive and helpful resource for users. Background. The environmental performance of buildings has been a focus of interest over the years in the building sector. Numerous building environmental assessment tools (BEA) have evolved to follow the lead of sustainability by updating categories and criteria from a lifecycle perspective. Therefore, it is timely to review the existing methods that already integrated LCA in their processes. The purpose of this study unfolds in three ways: (1) to review the existing BEA methods and LCA studies in residential buildings, (2) to compare the most adopted BEA methods, and (3) to study the integration of LCA and sustainability aspects applied within each selected BEA method. Methods. Scopus and Web of Science databases were searched for articles published between August 2010 and August 2021 in English. To identify studies and to conduct this review, four keywords, namely "Building Assessment Tools," "Residential Building," "LCA," and "Sustainability" (and their derivatives), were used. The articles were searched so that all four keywords or at least a derivative of each keyword would appear. Furthermore, the outcomes of the database search were categorized as LCA and BEA for the review. Moreover, the seven most adopted rating systems were selected for review and comparison based on (1) the scope of buildings assessed, (2) lifecycle phases assessed, (3) assessment criteria, and (4) the user of tools. Findings. Of the 42 articles that met the enclosure criteria, 20 articles covered the environmental impact and 22 articles covered LCA. The review reveals that most of the analyzed systems focus more on the operational stage than on the other stages. Each BEA method is diverse in terms of its users, criteria, and regions and creates a niche among assessment methods. Conclusions. The main conclusion of this study is that a great deal of work is required to achieve the goal of making the existing "environmental" building assessment tools more sustainable. Background: The health system of each country are required to achieve the goals based on appropriate frameworks. Assessment of health system performance provides an opportunity to address the main mission through recognizing new needs and resolving existing gaps. This review study aims to investigate Iran’s health system performance in achieving its goals based on the World Health Organization (WHO)’s conceptual framework. Methods: This scoping review was conducted based on Arksey and O’Malley’s methodological framework. A search in international databases including Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed/ Medline and in national databases such as SID, MagIran and IranDoc was conducted using the keywords “health system, Iran”, “disease burden”, “responsiveness” and “financial contribution”, which were used in both English and Persian separately for each variables of health promotion, responsiveness, and fair financial contribution. Retrieved articles were analyzed using qualitative synthesis method. Results: Data extracted from articles categorized into the three groups of “Health” (with subcategories of epidemiologic and demographic transitions), “Responsiveness” and “Fair financing and financial risk protection”. Synthesis of data revealed that the profiles of diseases has been changed over recent decades in Iran, which has resulted in epidemiologic and demographic transitions. In terms of responsiveness, services provided by the health system had not fulfilled patients’ expectations. Regarding fair financial contribution, synthesis of data showed that people had faced high health costs, with a high amount of out-of-pocket payment. Conclusion: Iran’s health system has not yet achieved the goals recommended by the World Health Organization. Fundamental reforming is required in the health system of this country. Bladder cuff excision (BCE) is essential to maintaining oncologic control during radical nephroureterctomy (RNUx) for upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). While intravesical, extravesical, and endoscopic methods are widely utilized, their efficacy in comparison to each other remains controversial. In this systematic review and metanalysis, we aimed to compare oncologic outcomes between different methods of BCE. We systematically reviewed the Ovid MEDLINE, Embase, CENTRAL, and Web of Science databases for studies comparing oncologic outcomes of RNUx for UTUC based on different methods of bladder cuff management. Our primary outcomes were intravesical recurrence rate (IVR), intravesical recurrence-free survival (IVRFS), and recurrence-free survival (RFS). Meta-analysis was performed comparing hazard ratios and recurrence rates between different BCE techniques A total of 46 studies were included for analysis, 39 studies from initial database search and addtional 7 from reviewing references in included studies. Techniques for BCE were categorized as open intravesical, open extravesical, endoscopic, or laparoscopic extravesical. When compared to both laparoscopic and open extravesical BCE, open intravesical BCE showed superior IVRFS (hazard ratio [HR] 1.31, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.14-1.51) but no difference in IVR or RFS. Subgroup analysis demonstrated that this effect was primarily driven by open extravesical BCE, which showed significantly worse IVRFS (HR 2.48, 95% CI 1.20-1.59). In contrast, no significant difference in IVR, IVRFS, or RFS was found between endoscopic BCE or laparoscopic extravesical BCE compared to open intravesical BCE. Similarly, there was no significant difference between extravesical BCE and endoscopic BCE. Extravesical BCE is associated with worse IVRFS compared to open intravesical BCE. Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. (He-shou-wu in Chinese), a Chinese botanical drug with a long history, is widely used to treat a variety of chronic diseases in clinic, and has been given the reputation of "rejuvenating and prolonging life" in many places. 2,3,4′,5-tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-β-D-glucoside (TSG, C20H22O9) is the main and unique active ingredient isolated from Polygonum multiflorum Thunb., which has extensive pharmacological activities. Modern pharmacological studies have confirmed that TSG exhibits significant activities in treating various diseases, including inflammatory diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases, hepatic steatosis, osteoporosis, depression and diabetic nephropathy. Therefore, this review comprehensively summarizes the pharmacological and pharmacokinetic properties of TSG up to 2021 by searching the databases of Web of Science, PubMed, ScienceDirect and CNKI. According to the data, TSG shows remarkable anti-inflammation, antioxidation, neuroprotection, cardiovascular protection, hepatoprotection, anti-osteoporosis, enhancement of memory and anti-aging activities through regulating multiple molecular mechanisms, such as NF-κB, AMPK, PI3K-AKT, JNK, ROS-NO, Bcl-2/Bax/Caspase-3, ERK1/2, TGF-β/Smad, Nrf2, eNOS/NO and SIRT1. In addition, the toxicity and pharmacokinetics of TSG are also discussed in this review, which provided direction and basis for the further development and clinical application of TSG. This text contributes to the knowledge about the relationship between work design, well-being and mental health. We review the most recent publications concerning the variables studied to offer a synthesis of the main concepts, theoretical models and the empirical evidence that explain the relationship. We searched four databases: Web of Science, Springer, Ebsco and Pro-Quest, in which we identified N = 11,878 articles on Work design (N = 4,332), Job design (N = 4,854) and Job Demands-Resources (N = 2,692). We highlight the models of job characteristics and job-demand resources, to promote the well-being and mental health of workers. We discuss the importance of integrating the variables at a practical level, about the individual, group and organizational units of analysis; as well as the need to take into account the variety of occupations, positions and how their employees interact. Appropriate research reports are important to facilitate the evaluation of studies and the decision-making by dentists and policymakers. This meta-research study assessed the conformity of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) on atraumatic restorative treatment (ART) restorations with the CONSORT recommendations and their risk of bias (RoB). Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, BBO, LILACS, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were searched from April 2019 to June 2021 for RCTs that assessed the longevity of ART restorations in children. A specific tool was used to assess adherence to the CONSORT recommendations; RoB was evaluated with the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool. Descriptive analyses included the number of studies by journal, follow-up period, country, and quality assessments. A total of 2,181 papers were retrieved and 36 of them were analyzed qualitatively. The overall CONSORT mean score (CONms) was 22.52 ± 6.17 out of 32 points. The best described items were intervention and outcomes, whereas allocation concealment was described in only 22% of the papers. Significant differences in CONms were detected in the analysis by country and publication dates. High CONms were observed in recently published papers (26.7 ± 3.1) when compared to first ART studies (18.1 ± 4.6; p < 0.001). RoB was low in four studies, unclear in 11, and high in 21. Adherence of the papers to the CONSORT recommendations was not fully achieved and most of the papers had unclear and high RoB (PROSPERO registration #CRD42020201460). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aimed to investigate, analyze and visualize the scientific output of global virology research by examining the collaborative pattern and co-authorship network. A total of 80220 records were extracted from the web of science database after searching 'Virology' as a research area. Multi-authored papers are more than single-authored papers with 85% of the whole. The degree of collaboration was 0.994 in the field of Virology. Wang Y is the most active author with 429 papers, 5621 total citations, and 37 h-index. To understand the trend of evolution pattern and proximity of efficiency, we investigate a co-authorship network of a relatively new and emerging academic field. Trigger point Dry Needling (TDN) is a therapeutic intervention for Musculoskeletal (MSK) pain, encompassing various body areas. TDN, involving the insertion of fine needles into muscles, connective tissues, and myofascial trigger points, has gained popularity as a treatment for MSK pain. The review aimed to consolidate evidence from published Systematic Reviews (SRs) on the efficacy of TDN in managing myofascial pain syndrome across different MSK disorders. The review adhered to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) 2020 statement, evaluating SRs of Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) published after 2000. The search strategy encompassed databases such as Web of Science, Excerpta Medica DataBASE (EMBASE) and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), with keywords including "dry needling," "acupuncture," and "physical therapy." Nineteen SRs met the inclusion criteria, focusing on TDN efficacy across various body regions. TDN was found to be effective in reducing pain and tenderness in regions including the temporomandibular joint, cervical spine and shoulder, upper extremities, lumbar spine, and lower extremities. The review suggests that TDN may offer temporary relief for trigger point-related pain and tenderness, with outcomes comparable to or better than other interventions such as manual therapy, stretching, and pharmaceutical injections. However, the review acknowledges limitations in the available evidence, including variations in study protocols, methodologies, and outcome measures across publications. While TDN shows promise in reducing myofascial pain across different body regions, further high-quality research is needed to confirm its efficacy and inform clinical decision-making. The review emphasises the importance of standardised protocols and comprehensive outcome assessments in future research to better understand the potential benefits of TDN for MSK pain management. Background: Numerous case-control studies have investigated the association between GSTP1 Ile105Val polymorphism and CHD risk, but the results from published studies were inconclusive. The present meta-analysis was performed to derive a more precise estimation. Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science database searches were conducted to retrieve relevant articles. Results: Ultimately, 5,451 CHD cases and 5,561 controls from 15 studies were included. Pooled analysis did not yield any statistically significant association between GSTP1 Ile105Val polymorphism and CHD risk for the overall population (Val vs. Ile: OR, 1.05; 95% CI, 0.93 to 1.18; Val/Val vs. Ile/Ile: OR, 1.09; 95% CI, 0.83 to 1.42; Val/Ile vs. Ile/Ile: OR, 1.09; 95% CI, 0.93 to 1.28; Val/Val vs. Val/Ile+Ile/Ile: OR, 1.04; 95% CI, 0.83 to 1.30; Val/Val+Val/Ile vs. Ile/Ile: OR, 1.14; 95% CI, 0.97 to 1.33). Subgroup analyses and sensitivity analyses indicated that GSTP1 Ile105Val polymorphism was still not associated with an increased risk of CHD. After excluding studies detected by Galbraith plots as major sources of heterogeneity, these relationships were still not significant. Conclusions: The overall results did not reveal a major role of the GSTP1 Ile105Val polymorphism in modulating CHD risk. Well-designed studies with large sample sizes are needed to validate our findings and explore the possible gene-gene or gene-environment interactions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Human microbiotas are communities of microorganisms living in symbiosis with humans. They play an important role in the host immune response to respiratory viral infection. However, evidence on the human microbiome and coronavirus disease (COVID-19) relationship is insufficient. The aim of this systematic literature review was to evaluate existing evidence on the association between the microbiome and COVID-19 in humans and summarize these data in the pandemic era. Methods: We conducted a systematic literature review on the association between the microbiome and COVID-19 in humans by searching PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library, CINAHL, and Web of Science databases for articles in English published up to October 31, 2020. The results were analyzed qualitatively. This study is registered with PROSPERO (CRD42020195982). Results: Of the 543 articles identified by searching databases, 16 in line with the research objectives were eligible for qualitative review: eight sampled the microbiome using stool, four using nasopharyngeal or throat swab, three using bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, and one using lung tissue. Fecal microbiome dysbiosis and increased opportunistic pathogens were reported in COVID-19 patients. Several studies suggested the dysbiosis in the lung microbiome of COVID-19 patients with an abundance of opportunistic pathogens using lower respiratory tract samples. The association between COVID-19 severity and the human microbiome remains uncertain. Conclusion: The human fecal and respiratory tract microbiome changed in COVID-19 patients with opportunistic pathogen abundance. Further research to elucidate the effect of alternation of the human microbiome in disease pathogenesis is warranted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: The outcomes of split‐liver transplantation are controversial. This study compared outcomes and morbidity after extended right lobe liver transplantation (ERLT) and whole liver transplantation (WLT) in adults. MEDLINE and Web of Science databases were searched systematically and unrestrictedly for studies on ERLT and its impact on graft and patient survival, and postoperative complications. Graft loss and patient mortality odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were assessed by meta‐analyses using Mantel–Haenszel tests with a random‐effects model. Vascular and biliary complications, primary nonfunction, 3‐month, 1‐, and 3‐year graft and patient survival, and retransplantation after ERLT and WLT were analyzed. The literature search yielded 10 594 articles. After exclusion, 22 studies (n = 75 799 adult transplant patients) were included in the analysis. ERLT was associated with lower 3‐month (OR = 1.43, 95% CI = 1.09–1.89, P = 0.01), 1‐year (OR = 1.46, 95% CI = 1.08–1.97, P = 0.01), and 3‐year (OR = 1.37, 95% CI = 1.01–1.84, P = 0.04) graft survival. WL grafts were less associated with retransplantation (OR = 0.57; 95% CI = 0.41–0.80; P < 0.01), vascular complications (OR = 0.53, 95% CI = 0.38–0.74, P < 0.01) and biliary complications (OR = 0.67; 95% CI = 0.47–0.95; P = 0.03). Considering ERLT as major Extended Donor Criteria is justified because ERL grafts are associated with vasculobiliary complications and the need for retransplantation, and have a negative influence on graft survival. Background: Hyperfunctioning or hot nodules are thought to be rarely malignant. As such, current guidelines recommend that hot nodules be excluded from further malignancy risk stratification. The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to compare the malignancy risk in hot nodules and non-toxic nodules in observational studies. Methods: Ovid MEDLINE Daily and Ovid MEDLINE, EMBASE, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were searched. Observational studies which met all of the following were included: (1) use thyroid scintigraphy for nodule assessment, (2) inclusion of both hyperfunctioning and non-functioning nodules based on scintigraphy, (3) available postoperative histopathologic nodule results, (4) published up to November 12, 2020 in either English or French. The following data was extracted: malignancy outcomes include malignancy rate, mapping of the carcinoma within the hot nodule, inclusion of microcarcinomas, and presence of gene mutations. Results: Among the seven included studies, overall incidence of malignancy in all hot thyroid nodules ranged from 5 to 100% in comparison with non-toxic nodules, 3.8–46%. Odds of malignancy were also compared between hot and non-toxic thyroid nodules, separated into solitary nodules, multiple nodules and combination of the two. Pooled odds ratio (OR) of solitary thyroid nodules revealed a single hot nodule OR of 0.38 (95% confidence interval (CI) 0.25, 0.59), toxic multinodular goiter OR of 0.51 (95% CI 0.34, 0.75), and a combined hot nodule OR of 0.45 (95% CI 0.31, 0.65). The odds of malignancy are reduced by 55% in hot nodules; however, the incidence was not zero. Conclusions: Odds of malignancy of hot nodules is reduced compared with non-toxic nodules; however, the incidence of malignancy reported in hot nodules was higher than expected. We aimed to (1) determine the extent of the relationship between attachment and suicidal thoughts and behaviors (STB), (2) investigate whether any gender differences exist, and (3) conduct a theoretical synthesis of the included studies. A systematic search of the databases Web of Science; EBSCO Host Medical and Psychology-related resources, which includes CINAHL, Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection, and PsycINFO; and EMBASE was conducted, with 52 studies meeting the inclusion criteria. While secure attachment acts as protective factor, insecure attachment orientations appear to be vulnerability factors compromising an individual's capacity to cope with relationship issues, increasing suicide risk. There is insufficient evidence about gender differences. The theoretical synthesis suggests that attachment, interacting with other psychological traits in response to negative life events, acts as a vulnerability or protective factor for STB. Objective: A high-reliability organization (HRO) is an organization that has sustained almost error-free performance, despite operating in hazardous conditions where the consequences of errors could be catastrophic. A number of tools and initiatives have been used within HROs to learn from safety incidents, some of which have the potential to be adapted and used in healthcare. We conducted a systematic review to identify any learning tools deemed to be effective that could be adapted and used by multidisciplinary teams in healthcare following a patient safety incident.Methods: This review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and MetaAnalyses for Protocols reporting guidelines and was registered with the PROSPERO (CRD42017071528). A search of databases was carried out in January 2021, from the date of their commencement. We conducted a search on electronic databases such as Web of Science, Science Direct, MEDLINE in Process Jan 1950-present, EMBASE Jan 1974-present, CINAHL 1982-present, PsycINFO 1967-present, Scopus and Google Scholar. We also searched the grey literature including reports from government agencies, relevant doctoral dissertations and conference proceedings. A customized data extraction form was used to capture pertinent information from included studies and Critical Appraisal Skills Programme tool to appraise on their quality.Results: A total of 5921 articles were identified, with 964 duplicate articles removed and 4932 excluded at the title (4055), abstract (510) and full-text (367) stages. Twenty-five articles were included in the review. Learning tools identified included debriefing, simulation, crew resource management and reporting systems to disseminate safety messages. Debriefing involved deconstructing incidents using reflective questions, whilst simulation training involved asking staff to relive the event again by performing the task(s) in a role-play scenario. Crew resource management is a set of training procedures that focus on communication, leadership and decision-making. Sophisticated incident-reporting systems provide valuable information on hazards and were widely recommended as a way of disseminating key safety messages following safety incidents. These learning tools were found to have a positive impact on learning if conducted soon after the incident with efficient facilitation.Conclusion: Healthcare organizations should find ways to adapt to the learning tools or initiatives used in HROs following safety incidents. It is challenging to recommend any specific one as all learning tools have shown considerable promise. However, the way these tools or initiatives are implemented is critical, and so further work is needed to explore how to successfully embed them into healthcare organizations so that everyone at every level of the organization embraces them. Objective: The objective of this study was to identify the existing challenges in the last mile of the global Guinea Worm Eradication Program. Methods: Systematic Review of articles published from 1 January 2000 until 31 December 2019. Papers listed in Cochrane Library, Google Scholar, ProQuest PubMed and Web of Science databases were searched and reviewed. Results: Twenty‐five articles met inclusion criteria of the study and were selected for analysis. Hence, relevant data were extracted, grouped and descriptively analysed. Results revealed 10 main challenges complicating the last mile of global guinea worm eradication: unusual mode of transmission; rising animal guinea worm infection; suboptimal surveillance; insecurity; inaccessibility; inadequate safe water points; migration; poor case containment measures, ecological changes; and new geographic foci of the disease. Conclusion: This systematic review shows that most of the current challenges in guinea worm eradication have been present since the start of the campaign. However, the recent change in epidemiological patterns and nature of dracunculiasis in the last remaining endemic countries illustrates a new twist. Considering the complex nature of the current challenges, there seems to be a need for a more coordinated and multidisciplinary approach of dracunculiasis prevention and control measures. Purpose: The aims of this study are to conduct a systematic review of public–private partnership (PPP) studies published from 2009 to 2019, to compare the results with Ke et al. (2009) who reviewed the PPP literature published from 1998 to 2008, and to trace the evolution of the PPP knowledge in the past two decades. This study also presents the possible directions that the PPP research may go towards in the future, arguably. Design/methodology/approach: This study carried out a top journal-based search to identify the quality PPP articles published from 2009 to 2019. A total of 12 top-tier construction journals were systematically searched in the database of web of science (WOS), from which 279 PPP articles were identified for review. Findings: The number of the identified articles, the titles of the journals, institutions, the most cited papers, and prevalent research methods were analyzed and compared. The existing PPP studies in construction journals were classified into seven streams. Through analysis of the PPP research status and gaps, five future research directions were revealed. Originality/value: This study contributes to the current body of knowledge by revealing the research trend of PPP from 2009 to 2019. It presents the change of PPP development trend in the past decade through comparison with Ke et al. (2009). It also reveals the major research streams and points out the directions that the PPP research may go towards in the future. Moreover, this study is helpful to the practice as well. It can enhance the practitioners' understanding of the PPP development in the past decade. In addition, it identified the research institutions contributing the most in the area of PPP, which may serve as valuable reference for practitioners to locate the best institutions for consultancy or collaboration.
