Abstract

The French enlightenment thinkers are recognized in the history of European scientific thought, appearing in school textbooks. However, contemporary Hispanic scholars of that time have been rescued by their intellectual height recently, since the nineties. The scientific production of the Universalist School is analyzed in the form of a bibliometric review, with special emphasis on the figure of Juan Andrés. The scientific articles are searched in two databases: Web of Science and Dialnet. The results provide a sample of 51 articles from 2001 to 2020 by 15 researchers, mostly Hispanic and male, among whom Astorgano Abajo and Aullón de Haro stand out. The articles are classified in humanities works of the type of historical reconstruction and philological hermeneutics in journals not only in the humanities, but also in the social sciences. Most of them are of a specialized nature on authors of this school or on specific issues. It is concluded that these topics have been scientifically consolidated by their persistence, deepening, extension, quality, diffusion and by arousing a transdisciplinary interest.
