The development of smart polymer materials is reviewed and illustrated. Important examples of these polymers include conducting polymers, ionic gels, stimulus-response be used polymers, liquid crystalline polymers and piezoelectric materials, which have desirable properties for use in wearable sensors. This review outlines the mode of action in these types of smart polymers systems for utilisation as wearable sensors. Categories of wearable sensors are considered as tattoo-like designs, patch-like, textile-based, and contact lens-based sensors. The advantages and disadvantages of each sensor types are considered together with information on the typical performance. The research gap linking smart polymer materials to wearable sensors with integrated power systems is highlighted. Smart polymer systems may be used as part of a holistic approach to improve wearable devices and accelerate the integration of wearable sensors and power systems, particularly in health care.

Introduction. The quality of journals in Indonesia is much criticized; however, the number of Indonesian journals that meet the criteria of Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ) is quite a lot. This study describes some facts of Indonesia’s publications based on DOAJ and World Bank data. Data Collection Method. Some filtering processes in DOAJ database were done based on sum of journals, scientific fields distribution, and Article Processing Charge (APC). Open data regarding research funds among countries in World Bank database were analyzed. Data Analysis . This study used quantitative-descriptive design with frequency analysis technique. Data visualization was done with R Statistical Computing and Google Sheets. Results and Discussions. In March 2017, there were 500 Indonesian journals (5th rank worldwide); 420 of them were in Indonesian covering more than 51,000 articles (7th rank). The top three fields were: education, Islam religion, as well as business and commerce. As much as 70% of the journals were free of APC. Science must prioritize inclusiveness and equality inline with the principles of originality and honesty. Conclusions. This study concludes that open access journals in Indonesia improves the accessibility, quality, and relevance of Indonesian research, which can be reused by communities, industries, and the government.

Open Access (OA) describes the free, unrestricted access to and re-use of research articles. Recently, a new wave of interest, debate, and practice surrounding OA publishing has emerged. In this paper, we provide a simple overview of the trends in OA practice in the broad field of geochemistry. Characteristics of the approach such as whether or not an article processing charge (APC) exists, what embargo periods or restrictions on self-archiving’ policies are in place, and whether or not the sharing of preprints is permitted are described. The majority of journals have self-archiving policies that allow authors to share their peer reviewed work via green OA without charge. There is no clear relationship between journal impact and APC. The journals with the highest APC are typically those of the major commercial publishers, rather than the geochemistry community themselves. The rise in OA publishing has potential impacts on the profiles of researchers and tends to devolve costs from organizations to individuals. Until the geochemistry community makes the decision to move away from journal-based evaluation criteria, it is likely that such high costs will continue to impose financial inequities upon research community. There are major challenges that need to be addressed in the world of scholarly communication, especially in the field of environmental studies and in the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Recently, Sonne et al. (2020) published an article in Science of the Total Environment discussing some of these challenges. However, many of the arguments put forward by these authors are lacking precision and are based on an incomplete understanding of Open Access (OA), Plan S, and broader issues in scholarly publishing. In our response, we focus on addressing key elements of their discussion on (i) OA and Plan S, as well as (ii) Open Access Predatory Journals (OAPJ). The authors mischaracterise OA and Plan S as restricting author choice, especially regarding the payment of article-processing charges. The reality is that ‘green OA’ self-archiving options alleviate all of the risks they mention, and are even the preferred ‘routes’ to OA as stated by their own institutional and national policies in Denmark. In alignment with this, Plan S is also taking a progressive stance on reforming research evaluation. The assumptions these authors make about OA in the “global south” are also incorrect, and fail to acknowledge some of the progressive work being done in regions like Indonesia and Latin America. Finally, Sonne et al. (2020) highlight the threat that OAPJs face to our scholarly knowledge production system. While we agree generally that OAPJs are problematic, the authors simultaneously fail to mention many of the excellent initiatives helping to combat this threat (e.g., the Directory of Open Access Journals). We call for researchers to more effectively equip themselves with sufficient prior knowledge of relevant systems before making public statements about them, in order to prevent misinformation from polluting the debate about the future of scholarly communication.

The paper is a continuation of previous studies which discussed separately the effects of voltage variations that occur in the electricity distribution network on the power quality parameter and photometric flicker on energy-saving lamps. Many approaches are combined here to investigate the relationship between those two parameters. Given the complexity of lamp driver architectures, this process is expected to become a new testing method in order to determine and predict ESL lamps behavior. Based only on a few simple optical measurements, complete and comprehensive information can be obtained over undocumented lamps features impacting the user comfort.

With the advent of Solid State Lighting came a renewed interest in the study of flicker. Potential effects include brightness enhancement, but also discomfort, ocular fatigue, phantom and stroboscopic effects, … Both IEEE and IEC developed new metrics, but at the time of writing no firm consensus has been reached. Yet previous lamp studies in the Laplace laboratory showed that various flicker phenomenon are present on different lamps, but this feature is not documented. This paper focus on flicker changes w.r.t. applied voltage. The Indonesian power grid network is indeed characterized by large voltage variations; our purpose is to detect which lamps may exhibit too elevated flicker levels during out of nominal excursion and map such behavior with other electrical characteristics.

Key message: Permanent sampling plots (PSPs) are a powerful and reliable methodology to help our understanding of the diversity and dynamics of tropical forests. Based on the current inventory of PSPs in Indonesia, there is high potential to establish a long-term collaborative forest monitoring network. Whilst there are challenges to initiating such a network, there are also innumerable benefits to help us understand and better conserve these exceptionally diverse ecosystems.

International audience; This article proposes new indices for microgridstability assessment. Various definitions of renewable penetrationlevel in the literature are firstly reviewed and their influence onpower system stability is discussed. It is found that the limit ofvariable renewable penetration varies on a case-per-case basis.Consequently, new indices are necessary as a guide in the designand operations of microgrids. The new indices are introducedbased on practical requirements of maintaining power supplyand balance stability. The usability of the indices is thenvalidated with the results from the literature, which hasconfirmed the practicability of the indices for microgrid planningand operations.

International audience; Reconfigurable devices, such as FPGAs, have been known to offer an excellent performance and a high efficiency in computation. Due to their improving capacity and more efficient architecture recently, there are growing interests in using FPGAs as coprocessors in reconfigurable systems. However, FPGAs still lack the support in dynamic scheduling, e.g. to manage multiple tasks or users in a system. Performing runtime task relocation or load distribution is not possible unless the reconfigurable system supports dynamic task migration. Such ability requires the automation of configuration and context management in reconfigurable architecture, which is not available in the existing solutions.In this paper, we propose a framework for prototyping dynamic task migration between heterogeneous FPGAs. A task running on one FPGA can be suspended and resumed on another FPGA with different architecture. The extraction and restoration of FPGA registers and memory values are possible due to the task-specific extraction mechanism provided by the tasks. The proposed framework exploits a high-performance embedded processor tightly-coupled to an FPGA to automatically manage the configuration and context. It utilizes two popular heterogeneous reconfigurable systems in the implementation, Xilinx Zynq ZC706 and Altera Arria V SoC. Tests are performed using graphical and non-graphical benchmark applications and performance results are presented.

International audience; High-Level Synthesis (HLS) has opened an opportunity for software programmers to target FPGA more rapidly. When developing HLS tools, tests are desirable to ensure their function, reliability, and performance. When modifications are applied to a tool, Non-Regression Test (NRT) asserts that the changes have intended effect while Regression Test (RT) verifies that the tool still performs correctly without unwanted behavior. The work presented in this paper is focused on a method to automatically perform Non-Regression Test in HLS tool developments, although it can also be used as a Regression Testing technique. This method relies on a framework which allows HLS tool developers to verify the circuits generated from the tool directly on FPGA, instead of using simulations. The verification flow is automatic so that knowing the details of the system is unnecessary for developers. The framework has been tested successfully over several applications from HLS benchmark and it gives more promising results than its simulation counterpart.

This paper analyzes the changes of spectral-derived characteristics of LED lamps during their operational life. The analysis is based upon a laboratory-controlled ageing experiment over 17 LED lamps samples. Each sample is put into its normal operating condition up to 20000 hours. As a comparison, lumen maintenance tests are also performed over another set of 9 lamps. In order to analyze the change in characteristics, the photometric and color quantities of the lamps are evaluated. The results show that the blue peak value and the re-emitted yellow component are decreasing independently over time. This implies that the ageing process induces a change of the color temperature and of the color rendering index of the output light. Four mathematical models are also proposed to investigate the relationship between color output and the operational time of the lamp. The selection of the best fitting is based upon the coefficients of determination from each model.

White LED lamp are gaining a lot of popularity both on the residential and street lighting markets. Those devices are advertised with a very long lifetime compared to conventional incandescent lamps. A measurement campaign including accelerated ageing and stress test is ongoing in Sweden; parts of the data are joined to data obtained in France. The aim of this paper is to report and analyze which factors can be correlated to LED performance changes. A few commercial lamps were bought anonymously in retail stores; each type comprised 12 samples. A first group undergo long-term lumen maintenance test; the second was stressed by frequent switching (50 000 cycles, 30 seconds on/30 second off); the third and the fourth by frequent cycling (3 000 cycles, 30 minutes on/30 minutes off) at 25 °C and 75°C respectively. The assesment are made based on the change of the lumen, lamp efficiency, Correlated Color Temperature and Color Rendering index of the produced light before and after the test.

As state-owned electricity company in Indonesia, PLN still has lack of capacity and long distribution network in several regions so that under nominal voltage still happens in those regions. Sometimes, a brownout strategy is still done to avoid outage, unfortunately it makes the voltage in area supplied by long network become worse in peak load. Lamps will operate at a lower voltage than their rating. Nowadays, energy saving lamps (ESLs) are widely used by customers in Indonesia. To investigate the effect of voltage decreasing on power quality and luminous properties, laboratory observations will be performed. Sixteen sample lamps consist of 5 CFLs lamps and 11 LEDs with different manufacturers and power ratings will be tested. The results of tests indicate that only a few of ESLs meet IEC 61000-3-2 requirements.

Jati Gede Dam is located around the border of Sumedang-Majalengka region in West Java province. Jati Gede Dam provides several benefits such as for irrigation, hydropower, tourism and fish farming. Dam can also trigger the potential a disaster, especially in the water impounding process. The process of water impounding in the dam has the potential to cause earthquake disaster. The effect of water impounding potentially adds stress accumulation in the dam area so that it can cause earthquakes. Therefore, a research on strain change due to the water impounding in Jati Gede dam is needed. The method used in the research is by GPR survey. Result from GPS observation processed to generate displacement value of GPS observation point, and strain changes from the point that formed grid strain. Based on deformation analysis the effect of water impounding to the strain around Jati Gede Dam can be obtained. Development in this thesis is by using and additional method namely Kinematic PPP to see the different pattern of earth tide phenomenon around the dam which were represented by several GPS station. These results indicate a change of velocity direction in the area around Jati Gede dam. This change can be analyzed for the station near the dam as JTG1 station, jtg2, CSUM, 0355, BDK2, CJR6, and MJLK. BDK2 campaign point leads toward the Southwestern, CJR6 displacements from the Southwest to the North, MJLK displacements from Southeast to the Northwest, and 0355 displacements from Southeast to the North. JTG1 GPS station point tends to lead toward the Southwestern and JTG2 GPS station leads toward the North with 0355 GPS station. CSUM in Sumedang displacements from Northwest to the East. This change can be analyzed for the station near the dam such as JTG1, JTG2, CSUM, 0355, BDK2, CJR6, and MJLK as result of the process of water filling in Jati Gede dam.

Part 1: Information & Communication Technology-EurAsia Conference 2014, ICT-EurAsia 2014; International audience; With SaaS application, tenant can focus on application utilization while Independent Software Vendor (ISV) is responsible for application dep- loyment, installation, operation and maintenance. Using Aspect Oriented Soft- ware Development (AOSD), we propose eight concerns, i.e. configurability, discriminator, measurement, monitoring, tenant management, billing manage- ment, performance management, and application management. Those concerns are integrated into a SaaS system architectural design, to enhance SaaS opera- tional flexibility and maintainability. As a proof of concept, we developed a SaaS operational environment using Spring and AOP. Two Java applications have been integrated to this environment after tailoring. We have tested the modules, classes and services and then the applications, to demonstrate that the platform is able to run a set of web applications as a SaaS. Using this system, ISV can modify an existing Java application easily to be a part of SaaS and measure resource usage and monitor SaaS operation by a dashboard.

Part 1: Information and Communication Technology- Eurasia Conference (ICT-EurAsia); International audience; An Open Source Software (OSS) project can be considered as a new type of business entity involving various roles and stakeholders, e.g., project managers, developers, and users, who apply individual methods. The project managers have the responsibility to manage the OSS development in a way that the OSS product can be delivered to the customers in time and with good quality. This responsibility is challenging, because the heterogeneity of the data collected and analyzed from different stakeholders leads to the complexity of efforts of the project managers to measure and manage OSS projects. In this paper, we propose a measurement framework (OSMF) to enable the project managers to collect and analyze process data from OSS projects efficiently. Initial results show that OSMF can help project managers to manage OSS business processes more efficient, hence improve the decision on OSS project quality.

Part 1: Information and Communication Technology- Eurasia Conference (ICT-EurAsia); International audience; The benefits of electronic medical record (EMR) adoption by medical personnel, such as physicians, and medical organizations have been discussed in previous studies. However, most of medical personnel and organizations still use traditional paper-based medical records or use EMR ineffectively. This study aims to develop a model of EMR adoption among physicians and analyse the factors influencing the adoption. The model is developed base on Ability, Motivation, and Opportunity (AMO), adapted AMO, and Motivation-Ability FrameworkTen hypotheses were developed in this study. The next part of the study will be done to operationalize and empirically test the model using a survey method.

International audience; Since most real-life data contain missing values, reasoning and learning with incomplete data has become crucial in data mining and machine learning. In particular, Bayesian networks are one machine learning technique that allows for reasoning with incomplete data, but training such networks on incomplete data may be a difficult task. Many methods were thus proposed to learn Bayesian network structure from incomplete data, based on multiple structure generation and scoring of their adequacy to the dataset. However, this kind of approaches may be time-consuming. Therefore we propose an efficient dependency analysis approach that uses a redefinition of probability calculation to take incomplete records into account while learning BN structure, without generating multiple possibilities. Some experiments on well-known benchmarks are described to show the validity of our proposal.
