Abstract
- International audience; This article proposes new indices for microgridstability assessment. Various definitions of renewable penetrationlevel in the literature are firstly reviewed and their influence onpower system stability is discussed. It is found that the limit ofvariable renewable penetration varies on a case-per-case basis.Consequently, new indices are necessary as a guide in the designand operations of microgrids. The new indices are introducedbased on practical requirements of maintaining power supplyand balance stability. The usability of the indices is thenvalidated with the results from the literature, which hasconfirmed the practicability of the indices for microgrid planningand operations.
