The article presents a study to compile and present data on canine mast cell sarcomas (MCSs) diagnosed in Croatia in the 2008-2012 period, and to compare these data with the literature. Topics discussed include potential biological behavior of MCSs in dogs, occurrence of canine mast cell tumors in the skin and subcutis, and localization of MCSs in the thorax, the abdomen, and the head. Other topic discussed include MCSs in different breeds of dogs such as Boxers, Labrador Retrievers, and Pugs.

The article presents a study which analyzed data on the incidence of canine tumours in Croatia. A total of 1568 tumours were diagnosed from January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2009 following routine biopsy submission or necropsy. The researchers found that most tumours were malignant while others were benign or were treated as not specified. Tumours originated from the skin and subcutis, mammary gland, and genital system. The most common specific types of tumour are also cited.

The article presents a case study of a massive rupture of necrotic omental lipoma and free fat release in the abdominal cavity in dogs. It notes that the rupture of necrotic omental lipoma can cause a severe chronic inflammatory reaction of the peritoneum and can result in sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis of several abdominal organs. The study aims to provide clinical, laboratory, and cytology findings caused by omental lipoma necrosis.

The article presents a case study of a one-year-old mongrel bitch that was brought to the Obstetrics and Reproduction Clinic at the University of Zagreb in Croatia for elective castration. The bitch underwent laparoscopic ovariohisterectomy of the enlarged uterus administered with general inhalated anesthesia. Pathohistological findings showed segmental endometrial hyperplasia of the uterus. Results showed that the procedure is safe for the treatment of bitches with minimal uterus enlargement.

The article presents a study which investigates the pathogenecity of cestoda Atractolytocestus huronensis for common cultured common carp Cyprinus carpio L. in Croatia. The study involves several methods including the carpa fish collection from April-September 2012, dissection, and evaluation of the intensity and prevalence of infection. The study reveals that the intensity of infection ranges from 1-183 parasites per fish and the parasites were found in the anterior of the carp's intestine.

The article presents an immunohistochemical study and histopathological evaluation of estrogen receptor α, Ki-67, and HER-2 in canine neoplastic mammary lesions and their association with tumors. The study shows that common breeds affected include German shepherd dogs, cross breeds, and cocker spaniels. The results of the study revealed HER-2 protein and high Ki-67 in malignant tumors.

The article describes the case of a pregnant mongrel bitch with unilateral segmental aplasia of the uterine horn. The final diagnosis of the problem was established during the surgical procedure as the anamnestic data about the reproductive cycle of the animal were unknown and sonographic examination did not show segmental aplasia. The study reportedly proved the possibility for normal conception, development and delivery of the fetuses in case of unilateral uterine horn agenesis.

The article describes the case of two newborn female French bulldog puppies which were diagnosed with cold haemagglutinin disease (CHD). CHD is said to be a form of autoimmune haemolytic anaemia (AIHA). It is said that CHD leads to gangrene of the anatomic extremities which can be complicated with secondary infection. The puppies, born by caesarean section, were presented clinically with cyanosis and weakness, and euthanized after five days due to development of gangrene and cyanosis of the tips of the ears and tail, and nail beds of the limbs.

This article focuses on a study which investigated the outbreak of Tyzzer's disease in rabbits in Croatia. As explained, Tyzzer's disease is an enterohephatic infection caused by the anaerobic bacterium called Clostridium (C.) piliforme. Although it has been noted that animals die from the disease without clinical symptoms, common symptoms, when present, include diarrhea, abdominal distensional and apathy. It is said that the target organs of the C. piliforme in rabbits are the intestines, liver and myocardium.

The article discusses a study which investigated the influence of Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) feeding on cancer incidence and histopathological changes in DMBA induced mammary gland carcinogenesis rats. The study involved female Wistar rats of 21 days. The researchers found that the rats showed incidences of diarrhoea, but they also adjusted to the respective diets. The link between cancer incidence and CLA supplemented diets has been shown by the study in spite of the fact that CLA is not a cancer drug.
