Abstract
- The article describes the case of two newborn female French bulldog puppies which were diagnosed with cold haemagglutinin disease (CHD). CHD is said to be a form of autoimmune haemolytic anaemia (AIHA). It is said that CHD leads to gangrene of the anatomic extremities which can be complicated with secondary infection. The puppies, born by caesarean section, were presented clinically with cyanosis and weakness, and euthanized after five days due to development of gangrene and cyanosis of the tips of the ears and tail, and nail beds of the limbs.
