The public health issues caused by low temperature have led to urgent demands on high-performance warmth retention materials to prevent heat loss of human body. Fiber materials, the most common warmth retention materials, always suffer from large weight, flammability and poor heat retention capacity. Here, we propose an effective strategy to fabricate flame-retardant and ultralight fibrous sponges (FUFSs) with mechanical robustness and remarkable warmth retention performance by humidity-induced electrospinning technology. Precisely tailoring the relative humidity leads to the construction of ultrafine fibrous sponges, while the flame retardance is achieved by introducing flame retardant. The resultant FUFSs exhibit ultralight property (density of 3.1 mg cm−3), mechanical robustness (∼0% plastic deformations after 1000 stretchable and compressive tests), desirable warmth retention performance (thermal conductivity of 23.3 mW m−1 K−1), and flame retardance (limit oxygen index of 25.2%). Traffic noise does great harm to the physical and mental health of humans, which has become the main source of noise pollution, making sound absorption materials highly in demand. Fibrous sound-absorbing materials are widely used in controlling traffic noise pollution; nevertheless, due to the monotonic internal structure and large fiber diameter, they suffer poor mechanical properties and sound absorption performance. Herein, we develop a credible way to create flame-retardant fibrous sound absorption sponges by humidity-assisted electrospinning and an in-situ crosslinking approach. The obtained fibrous sponges possess outstanding superelastic and hydrophobic properties. Most importantly, fluffy fiber networks endow sponges with good low-frequency sound-absorbing properties (noise reduction coefficient or NRC of 0.51) and lightweight features (density of 9 mg cm−3) compared with commercial and reported sound-absorbing materials. In this paper, the structural mechanical analysis of the Terracotta Warriors, using 3D laser scanning technology and finite element methodology (FEM) is presented. The workflow of the case study mainly includes three steps along with the application of different software. The first step is to capture the point cloud using a 3D laser scanner and the reversed modeling using Geomagic Studio. Next, the model is imported into Hypermesh to accomplish mesh generation. Finally, the meshed model is imported into ABAQUS for analysis. The workflow constitutes an innovation for introducing a mesh generation method that is commonly used in biomechanics by Hypermesh, software that offers benefits such as functional and simple operation. In the analysis, cases such as sculpture at different incline angles to the ground and some particular conditions are included. The results indicate that apart from the ankle, the thigh and hip joints also remain in an adverse position under gravity. Given that the ground for storage and exhibition is not ideally flat, the stress on the whole structure can be reduced by rotating the sculpture at an appropriate angle. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Two unexpected tetranuclear supramolecular boxes, [Zn4(L')4(CH3OH)2]·2CH3OH (1) and [Co4(L)2(L')2(CH3OH)2]·acetone (2), with M4(μ3-O)2(μ2-O)4 core were obtained through reacting coumarin Schiff base H2L (H2L = 4-hydroxy-3-((2-hydroxyphenyl-imino)-methyl)-2hchrome-2-one) with Zn(OAc)2·4H2O and Co(OAc)2·4H2O, respectively. Interestingly, the original ligand (H2L) has changed into a new structure (H2L') in the process of forming single crystals. The structures of 1 and 2 were characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction. 1 and 2 are tetranuclear structures including four metal centers (Zn(II) or Co(II)), four completely deprotonated ligands (four new (L')2- in 1, two original (L)2- and two new (L')2- in 2), two coordinated methanol molecules and several crystalline solvent molecules. Significantly, due to the action of Zn(II) and Co(II), the original Schiff base H2L completely changed from coumarin skeleton to quinoline skeleton to form a new ligand (H2L') in 1, while in 2 half of the ligands H2L involved in coordination changed to H2L' configuration, the other half maintained the original structure. In 1, Zn1 ions are six-coordinate octahedral configuration and Zn2 are five-coordinate distorted square-pyramidal configuration with τ = 0.38. Three new cyathane diterpenoids named stercorins A–C (1–3), including one with unusual 4,9-seco-carbon skeleton, together with two new drimane sesquiterpenoids named stercorins D (4) and E (5) were isolated from the liquid cultures of the basidiomycete Cyathus stercoreus. Their structures were established by 1D and 2D NMR data in conjunction with HR-ESI-MS. All three cyathane diterpenoids showed neurotrophic activity in PC-12 cells at concentrations of 10 µM. Compounds 1–3 significantly suppressed LPS-induced NO production in culture medium in BV2 cells with the IC50 values of 1.64 μM, 9.25 μM and 8.71 μM, respectively. Notably, Compound 1, possessing an uncommon medium-sized 9/7 ring system showed the most promising role in the prevention of two activities-associated neurodegenerative diseases. The hydrolysis of K2[PtCl4] under visible light, the equilibrium, morphology, and size of Pt NPs combined with CDs, the valence states of Pt element and the bonding of Pt NPs with CDs, the influence of different kinds of cyclodextrin (α, β, γ-CDs), the acidity of the solution, and the visible light color on the catalytic ability of Pt NPs were all researched by typical approaches. All results prove visible light irradiation is effectively playing a key role in the reaction process to form Pt NPs in a very narrow size distribution. pH = 9, β-CDs, and purple visible light are the optimized reaction conditions. The Pt-CDs present a high rate constant of 0.88 min−1 in the catalytic reduction of 4-NP. Amphiphilic polymers applied in oil fields are polymer mixtures with different molecular weight. Stability of O/W emulsion prepared by amphiphilic polymers with different molecular weight was studied by stability analyzer. The difference in stability was clarified according to the external phase and interfacial properties. Results showed that PI(micro-molecular polymer) formed a tighter network structure in solution which exhibit higher viscoelasticity and more resistant to shear; and was more favorable to the emulsion stability than PII(macro-molecular polymer) due to higher surface activity. The control region of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) was obtained from 40 purebred Chinese Tibetan Mastiffs (TMs). Sequence structure and genetic diversity were analyzed, and a phylogenetic tree was constructed. The TM mtDNA control region was composed of ETAS (extended termination associated sequences), CD (a central domain) and CSBs (conserved sequenced blocks) and sequence length showed some diversity, which was mainly caused by the number of 10 nucleotide repeat units [5′-GTA CAC GT (G/A) C-3′] between CSB I and CSB II, which ranged from 27 to 35 among individuals. Seventy-five polymorphic sites were identified, which defined 37 haplotypes; the haplotype diversity was 0.990, and the nucleotide diversity was 1.201. Based on the control region sequences, Chinese TMs were divided into three categories, which were consistent with the origin and geographical classification of TMs. Phylogenetic analysis of 538-bp HVR-I sequences revealed that TMs were most closely related to Labrador Retrievers. The thickening behavior and synergistic mechanism of the mixed system of the hydrophobically associating polymer (HAP-S) (acrylamide/acrylate-EOm-POn/sodium acrylate terpolymer) with small molecular weight and the acrylamide/N-isooctyl acrylamide/sodium acrylate terpolymer (HAP-L) with large molecular weight were investigated via the rheology, inclusion action of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD), cohesive energy, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The apparent viscosity of the mixed-system solution was higher than that of the HAP solution alone in a wide range of mass ratios and concentrations of the two polymers, ascribing to the enhancement of associated viscosity and strength of the network structure by forming mixed aggregates and bridging among them. Furthermore, the hydrodynamic radius of the mixed-system aggregates increased due to the improved network structure and the electrostatic repulsion effect among the different kinds of HAP molecules. Under the synthetical influence of the above-mentioned factors, the mixed system displayed better temperature resistance and salt tolerance as compared to the HAP solution alone. The crude oil in Longdong area is produced in the form of emulsion containing associated oil and water, which needs to be separated before dispatch to end user. Chemical demulsification under high temperature is the most widely used technology to break the emulsions. In this study a rheological method was used to determine the curve of viscosity-temperature and lower limit of temperature was determined. A series of experiments on low-temperature commercial demulsifies were implemented for studying demulsification performance by bottle test method. Mechanism of low-temperature demulsifier was studied by using spinning drop interfacial tensiometer to determine interfacial tension between the crude oil and demulsifier solution by considering the concentration. Turbiscan stability analyzer was used to study the effect of water content, temperature, and demulsifier concentration on emulsion stability. The corresponding relationship between interfacial tension and demulsification was verified through the study of low-temperature demulsifier effect on interfacial tension. Efficient low-temperature demulsifiers AR102, AR901, PR929, and PRC06 were selected. A new mononuclear Zn(II) complex, [ZnL(HOAc)] (1) (H2L = 6,6′-diethoxy-2,2′-[1,2-ethylenedioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol), was synthesized by reaction of H2L and Zn(II) acetate under solvothermal conditions. Complex1acts as a metallohost possessing a pentadentate O5donor. Complex1molecules bonded to one Sr(II) or Ba(II) form two new hetero-trinuclear complexes, [(ZnL)2M(OAc)2] (M = Sr (2), Ba (3)). In2and3, Zn(II) ions are 5-coordinate, but the Sr(II) or Ba(II) ion is 10-coordinate by fourμ-phenolic oxygens from two L2−units, four oxygens from four ethoxy groups and two oxygens from twoμ-acetato ligands. Two new 3,4-seco-lanostane-type triterpenes, named as 15α-hydroxy-3,4-seco-lanosta-4(28),8,24-triene-3,21-dioic acid (1), 5α-hydroxy-3,4-seco-lanosta-4(28),8,24-triene-3,21-dioic acid 3-methyl ester (2), and one new lanostane triterpene 15α-acetoxylhydroxytrametenolic acid (3) together with a known one versisponic acid D (4) were isolated from the fruiting bodies ofLaetiporus sulphureusvar.miniatus. A new Cu(II) complex with asymmetric Salamo-type ligand (H2L, 4-bromo-6′-ethoxy-2,2′-[ethylenedioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol) has been synthesized and characterized structurally. The X-ray crystal structure of the Cu(II) complex shows it to be a binuclear complex, in which each Cu(II) atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. A novel lanthanum cadmium complex [LaCd(bpy)4(NO3)5] (where bpy = 2,2′-Bipyridine) has been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction method, elemental analysis, spectral method (IR), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), electronic spectra (UV–vis) and photoluminescence properties. Three new bisabolane sesquiterpenoids, inonotic acid A (1), 3-O-formyl inonotic acid A (2), inonotic acid B (3), and one new drimane sesquiterpenoid 3α,6β-dihydroxycinnamolide (4), were isolated from the fruiting bodies of mushroomInonotus rickii. Two new ylangene-type sesquiterpenoids, postinins A (1) and B (2), were isolated from cultures of the fungus Postia sp. Structures 1 and 2 were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis. The bioactivity evaluation showed that both compounds had significant inhibitory activities against protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B, and SH2-containing cytoplasmic tyrosine phosphatase-1 and -2 with IC50 values of 1.6–6.2 μg/ml. [Zn4(L1)2(OAc)2(CH3CH2OH)2] and [CuL2(H2O)] with new asymmetric Salamo-type ligands have been synthesized and characterized. There are two coordination geometries (trigonal bipyramidal and square pyramidal) in the Zn(??) complex, and the Cu(II) complex has square-pyramidal geometry. A self-assembling continual zigzag chain is formed by intermolecular hydrogen bonds in the Cu(II) complex. The self-assembling array of the Zn(II) complex is linked by intermolecular C–H?O and C–H?? interactions. A new mononuclear CdIIcomplex, [CdL(H2O)2], with halogen-substituted Salen-type bisoxime ligand (H2L = 4,4′-dibromo- 6,6′-dichloro-2,2′-[ethylenedioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol), was synthesized and structurally characterized. The CdIIcomplex crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space groupC2/c. The CdIIcenter exhibits a slightly distorted octahedral geometry with halogen-substituted Salen-type bisoxime ligand forming the basal N2O2coordination plane and two oxygen atoms from the coordinated water molecules in the axial position. A supramolecular CoIIcomplex, [CoL(H2O)2], bearing Salen-type bisoxime chelate ligand 4,4′,6,6′-tetrachloro-2,2′-[ethylenedioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol (H2L), has been synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, UV–vis spectra, and X-ray diffraction techniques. The crystal structure of [CoL(H2O)2] indicates that the CoIIcomplex consists of one CoIIatom, one L2–unit, and two coordinated water molecules. The CoIIcomplex exhibits slightly distorted octahedral geometry with the Salen-type bisoxime ligand forming the basal N2O2coordination plane and two oxygen atoms from the coordinated water molecules in the axial positions. A new Cu(II) complex, [Cu(L)2], has been synthesized via the complexation of copper(II) acetate monohydrate with a new oxime-type ligand (HL = 1-(3-{[(E)-3-bromo-5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzylidene]amino}phenyl)ethanone oxime). X-ray crystallographic analysis reveals that the complex is a mononuclear complex. The Cu(II) atom is four-coordinated by the phenolate O atoms and imine N atoms from two oxime-type ligands, in a square-planar geometry in which the dihedral angle of two coordination plane (Cu1N1O1 and Cu1N#1O#1) is 0°. The crystal packing of the Cu(II) complex shows that a notable feature of this structure resides in the formation of a novel 3D supramolecular networks through intermolecular O–H···N, C–H···O, and C–H···π interactions. A supramolecular CuII complex, [Cu(L)(H2O)] (H2L: 4,4′,6,6′-tetrachloro-2,2′-[ethylenedioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol), has been synthesized and structurally characterized. Salen-type bisoxime 5,5′-dimethoxy-2,2′-[(ethylenedioxy)bis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol (H2L) and its trinuclear Ni(II) cluster {[(NiL)(n-BuOH)]2(μ-OAc)2Ni} · n-BuOH have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The structure of H2L adopts an L-shape conformation where the two salicylaldoxime moieties are well separated. In the trinuclear Ni(II) cluster, two acetates coordinate to three Ni(II)'s through Ni–O–C–O–Ni bridges, four μ-phenoxos from two [NiL(n-BuOH)] units also coordinate to Ni(II), and two n-butanols coordinate to two terminal Ni(II)'s forming a distorted octahedral geometry. The Ni–O–C–O–Ni and μ-phenoxo bridges play important roles in assembling Ni(II) and the ligands. H2L forms a rectangle-like large cave structure through O–H ··· N, C–H ··· O, and C–H ··· π hydrogen-bond interactions, whereas its trinuclear Ni(II) cluster exhibits a 3-D supramolecular network structure through intermolecular O–H ··· O, C–H ··· O, and C–H ··· π hydrogen-bond interactions. A new Salen-type bisoxime chelating ligand, 3,3′-dimethoxy-2,2′-[(1,3-propylene)dioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol (H2L), and its Ni(II) cluster, [{NiL(CH3CH2OH)}2(OAc)2Ni]·2CH3CH2 OH·CH3COCH3, have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR spectra, UV-vis spectra, 1H-NMR, molar conductance measurements, and thermal properties. X-ray crystallographic analyses reveal that the structure of the Ni(II) cluster is as follows: two acetate groups coordinating to three metal(II) ions through Ni–O–C–O–Ni bridges and four μ-phenoxo oxygen atoms from two [NiL(CH3CH2OH)] units also coordinating to metal(II) ions. In the cluster, two ethanol molecules coordinate to the two terminal nickel(II) ions and form a trinuclear structure. An unexpected dinuclear Cu(II) complex, [Cu2(L2)2] (H2L2 = 3-methoxysalicylaldehyde O-(2-hydroxyethyl)oxime), has been synthesized via complexation of Cu(II) acetate monohydrate with H4L1. Catalysis by Cu(II) results in unexpected cleavage of two N–O bonds in H4L1, giving a dialkoxo-bridged dinuclear Cu(II) complex possessing a Cu–O–Cu–O four-membered ring core instead of the usual bis(salen)-type tetraoxime Cu3–N4O4 complex. Every complex links six other molecules into an infinite-layered supramolecular structure via 12 intermolecular C–H ··· O hydrogen bonds. An unprecedented dinuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu2(L2)2] (H2L2 = 3-Methoxysalicylaldehyde O-(2-hydroxyethyl)oxime), has been synthesized via the complexation of copper(II) acetate monohydrate with unsymmetrical Salen-type ligand H2L1 (H2L1 = 3-Methoxy-2,2′-[ethylenedioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol). A tetranuclear Zn(ΙΙ) complex, [Zn4L2(OAc)2(CH3OH)2] with an unsymmetric Salen-type bisoxime (H3L = 6-hydroxy-4′,6′-dibromo-2,2′-[ethylenediyldioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol), has been synthesized and structurally characterized. Two solvent-induced complexes, [CoL2(CH3OH)2] (1) and [CoL2(CH3CH2OH)2] (2), have been synthesized by the reaction of an oxime-type ligand (HL, 4-[(Ethoxyimino)(phenyl)methyl]-5-methyl-2-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-3(2H)-one) with cobalt(II) acetate tetrahydrate in different solvents. X-ray crystallographic analyses have indicated that complexes 1 and 2 have a similar structure, consisting of one CoII atom, two L− units, and two coordinated methanol or ethanol molecules. Interestingly, two CoII atoms in the structures of complexes 1 and 2 are all six-coordinated, approaching a staved octahedral geometry, but complexes 1 and 2 are grown up in methanol/chloroform and ethanol, respectively. Right because of this, solvent effect cause to the difference of the crystal structures: complex 1 forms an infinite supramolecular chain by intermolecular hydrogen bonds, while complex 2 exhibits three-dimensional supramolecular networks through intermolecular hydrogen bonds and C-H···π interactions. A new dinuclear CuII complex, [Cu2(3-MeOSalamo-2)(H2O)3]·2pic·CH3COCH3·H2O, has been synthesized by the reaction of copper(II) picrate tetrahydrate with H2(3-MeOSalamo-n) (n = 2). X-ray crystallographic analysis reveals that the complex is a dinuclear structure when the O-alkyl chain length is relatively short (two CH2 groups), while a tetranuclear structure is obtained when the O-alkyl chain length becomes longer (four CH2 groups). In the complex, the μ-phenoxo bridging, picratol, and intermolecular hydrogen bonds play important roles in assembling CuII ions and ligands. Three mononuclear Schiff base copper(II) complexes, [Cu(L1)2] (1), [Cu(L2)2] (2) and [Cu(L3)2] (3) (HL1= 2,4-dichloro-6-[(2-chloro-3-pyridyl)iminomethyl]phenol, HL2 = 2,4-dibromo-6-[(2-chloro-3-pyridyl)-iminomethyl]phenol, HL3 = 2-bromo-4-chloro-6-[(2-chloro-3-pyridyl)iminomethyl]phenol), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV-Vis spectra, and X-ray single crystal diffraction. X-ray structures reveal each crystal unit contains two molecules and the coordination environment around the copper(II) atom is tetracoordinated by two Schiff base ligands, showing a tetrahedron geometry with some distortion. Pairs of intermolecular C-H···X (X = Cl or Br), C-H···N and C-H···O hydrogen bonds form many hydrogen bonding rings and play a crucial role in stabilizing the crystal structures. A new Co(II) cluster, {[CoL(DMF)]2(OAc)2Co}·2DMF (H2L = 4,4'-dichloro-2,2'-[(1,3-propylene)dioxybis (nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol), has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectrum, UV-Vis spectrum, and X-ray diffraction method. The results indicate that the Co(II) cluster consists of three Co(II) ions, two tetradentate (μ-L)2- units, two coordinated μ-acetate ions, two coordinated DMF, and two crystallizing DMF molecules. All the hexa-coordinated Co(II) ions of the Co(II) cluster have a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The crystal packing of the Co(II) cluster shows that a notable feature of this structure resides in the formation of a novel 2D supramolecular structure through intermolecular C-H···O interaction and weak intramolecular C-H···(Ph) interaction along the b-axes. Two new complexes, [Cu(L1)2] (1) and [Cu(L2)2(H2O)]·CH3OH (2), have been synthesized via the complexation of copper(II) acetate monohydrate with two mono-oxime chelating ligands (HL1: 4-[(Methoxyimino)(phenyl)methyl]-5-methyl-2-phenyl-1H- pyrazol-3(2H)-one and HL2: 4-[(Ethoxyimino)(phenyl)methyl]-5-methyl-2-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-3(2H)-one), respectively. X-ray crystal structure determination of the two complexes show that complex 1 consists of one copper(II) ion, two bidentate (L1)- units, and the copper atom of complex 1 has a square planar geometry distorted tetrahedrally with four-coordination, while complex 2 consists of one copper(II) ion, two bidentate (L2)- units, one coordinated H2O, and one crystallizing methanol molecule, as expected from the analytical data. And the copper atom of complex 2 has a slightly distorted tetragonal pyramid geometry with five-coordination. Complex 2 is a self-assembling infinite chain supramolecular structure formed by intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The effects of pentabrominated diphenyl ethers (BDE-99) were examined on mRNA and protein expressions of c-Myc and p53 in breast cancer MCF-7 cells. Human breast cancer MCF-7 cells were cultured in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium. 3-[4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was employed to investigate cell proliferation. Real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry were performed to detect mRNA and protein expressions of c-Myc and p53. At the concentration of 1 × (10-4-10-8) mol L-1, BDE-99 stimulated proliferation of MCF-7 cells in a concentration- and time-dependent manner. RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry analyses revealed that treatment with 1 × (10-4-10-7) mol L-1 for 72 h resulted in significantly increased mRNA and protein expressions of c-Myc and inhibited p53. It is possible that BDE-99 exerted estrogenic actions and might markedly stimulate proliferation in estrogen responsive breast cancer MCF-7 cells. Apolipoprotein D (Apo D) is reported to be in close association with developing and mature blood vessels, and involved in enhanced smooth muscle cell migration after injury. This study was designed to clarify the expression pattern of Apo D and the possibility of Apo D as a new marker in human end-stage heart failure. Individual RNA samples obtained from independent left ventricular tissue of six heart failure patients derived from cardiomyopathies of different aetiologies during cardiac transplantation and six non-failing control subjects were hybridized to the gene microarray containing, in total, 35 000 well-characterized Homo sapiens genes. Apo D was one of the highly expressed genes (3.3-fold upregulated) detected by microarray, which was further confirmed by quantitative real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) (5.88-fold upregulated) in failing hearts compared with non-failing hearts. Both Western blotting and immunohistochemistry analyses also demonstrated the higher levels of Apo D protein in failing hearts. Importantly, we observed elevated levels of plasma Apo D in heart failure patients compared with non-failing control subjects. We demonstrated, for the first time to our knowledge, that Apo D was highly expressed in the mRNA and protein levels in human failing hearts compared with non-failing hearts. Furthermore, our finding of elevated plasma Apo D levels in patients with heart failure provides clues that Apo D may act not only as a cardiac molecular marker but also as a circulating biomarker in patients with heart failure. In this work, we present the first separation of enantiomers in gas chromatography (GC) using a fused-silica capillary column containing cellulose triacetate, cellulose triphenylcarbamate, or cellulose tris(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) as the new chiral stationary phase. The separated solutes included alcohols, amine, ketone, ether, ester, and amino acid. Their column efficiency, polarity, and chiral selectivity were studied. The retention mechanism was discussed.
